Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! This heat can kiss my arse. And who KNEW being so neurotic about which changing mat to buy could be so satisfying and addictive!

Roll up literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Congratulations soda! I hope you and Alexa are doing well and I'm so glad labour went pretty smoothly for you.
Enjoy your newborn snuggles, sending you both lots of love Star

I can't believe how many thread babies there are now!!Shock

BunchOfBobs · 09/09/2016 08:29

Had he congratulations soda. Glad the epidural kept things in check for you. Enjoy the snuggles.

In the end I had to wake up DH to take Atticus at 6.20. The only way he would settle and stay calm was in my arms. By then I'd been awake over 2 hours and only had. 4 hours broken overnight. So I just got nearly two hours. I wouldn't normally wake DH on a school night but he works from home on a Friday and 6am was our pre Atticus get uo anyway.

Stardrey I hope all is okay. Glad you can breathe out again. Enjoy your day.

ElleSarcasmo · 09/09/2016 08:33

Congratulations Soda! Alexa is a gorgeous name and Ali is a cute nickname. So pleased for you!

Canters hope you're feeling better, or staying home if you're not!

Potato that's a lovely pic-is that Arya's cot?

Bodhi definitely looks happy there Nevlet Smile

How are you today Feefs?

I went to my first pregnancy yoga yesterday. It was good but way more dynamic than the one I went to with my friend which was very gentle. I had to ask her how to adapt some of the poses at the start as I have been getting some pelvic pain but after that she pointed out any adaptations. We did a lovely relaxing meditation at the end. Hope it's done my back some good as it's been grumbling all week. I'd recommend it for anyone thinking of giving it a try.

Mileymoocow · 09/09/2016 08:34

Congratulations soda! Another lovely little girl Grin hope you recover well Flowers

nev and potato you've brightened my morning with those beautiful photos. All you new mum's have done a fabulous job of making the cutest babies ever.

audrey glad to see you back! Sorry you've had a shit time. Enjoy your day today Smile

LillianFullStop · 09/09/2016 09:24

Congrats soda!!! Alexa is a beautiful name glad you and bub doing well CakeCakeCake

leoniethelioness · 09/09/2016 09:29

Welcome to the world, Alexa! Well done, Soda! Theodore was 5lbs 13oz at 35+1 which makes him sound like a giant next to Alexa! He's being weighed tomorrow and we are hoping he's finally more than his birth weight - he was 5lbs 11oz on Thursday. He dropped to 5lbs 5.5oz at his lowest.

Enjoy this precious time with your daughter, mummy Soda!

Lovely photo of Bodhi, Nev. Amazing how much formula these babies take! The most EBM we can get Theo to take is about 2 fl oz if I'm not BF him for that feed.

Anyone else have a baby who makes noises like a small animal at least half the night? Theo is fast asleep when he does this. I am not...

Danni89 · 09/09/2016 09:43

Congratulations Soda!! Well done X

Wow what a night, similar to bunch - feeds every 1/2 hours. Formula is really screaming out to me..

Cute pics potato and nev

Glad you enjoyed preggo yoga elle, I used to go on a Thursday, really enjoyed the relaxation part at the end

PotatosMum · 09/09/2016 10:12

Nev it's just crazy. How can you spoil a newborn?!

Soda congratulations, I'm so happy for you Grin

bunch sorry you had such a challenging night. I had similar sleep problems. Hoping Arya's sleep is back to normal tonight.

Elle it's her little Moses basket. I'm dreading her growing out of it as it's so cute!
Glad you enjoyed the yoga, hope it helps your back.

Leonie Arya spends most of the night and nap time grunting, chirping and barking. Keeps me awake but she's fast asleep.

Pinklily1 · 09/09/2016 11:02

Just popping on to say congrats to soda! Hope you are enjoying lots of baby snuggles. When will you get to go home? We had to stay in until last night, just due to the foetal distress in the run up to birth and a few feeding issues, but we are home now.

Team Pink is doing well! I went with the doctors advice to get the epidural asap given the need for the drip and am so pleased I did.

My lady bits are really sore today. I've take your advice Bunch to wee in the bath/ shower and that has definitely helped.

I can't remember who asked, but we pronounce Evelyn "Ev-lin" rather than "Eve-lin".

leoniethelioness · 09/09/2016 11:04

That's how I'd say it too, Pink. One of my best friends from uni has a daughter called Evelyn and that's how she pronounces it. I think it's gorgeous. I really like the name Eve too but it's my team leader's name so it would be a bit weird to use. My grandmother had a sister called Eva which I think is lovely too.

leoniethelioness · 09/09/2016 11:05

Glad you're home, Pink!

Mileymoocow · 09/09/2016 12:09

Just been totally spoilt by my lovely colleagues, I'm absolutely overwhelmed by the sheer amount of gifts and gift cards we have been given. There is also cake etc coming out of my ears!

potato I did mean to say I love Arya's moses basket! It looks very cosy.

Glad to hear you're doing well pink, was the epidural as bad as you feared? I'm still utterly terrified of the thought.

PotatosMum · 09/09/2016 12:34

Pink glad you're home now. Hope all is going well now.

Miley glad you've had a nice last day.

I've just received a mystery Confused someone has sent Arya this little button wall plate, obviously hand made but they didn't add a note or return address to the package so I have no idea who sent it. I've posted a pic on FB and I'm hoping someone owns up but it is most curious.

Oh sounds like you had nice last day miley!

glad you're home now soda

So I thought I knew what people meant about fanny daggers ... But today I felt some that no joke were serious fanny swords machetes daggers I had to walk slower. WTF is that?? I'm only 33+5 do I have more of this to look forward to? ConfusedConfusedConfused

Mileymoocow · 09/09/2016 16:31

lillian yes! They're delightful Grin mine turn into cramps along my groin - another lovely pregnancy symptom

I actually thought my waters went in asda, I just leaked so much it was ridiculous Blush

potato that's a lovely gift, hope you find out who it's from Smile

Feefeefs · 09/09/2016 17:29

Congratulations soda. Alexa is a lovely name.

Sorry about your bad experience irregular! After having amazing care on tue/wed today was horrific! They didn't seem to know what I was there for so I got 2 unnecessary hours on a blood pressure monitor! At least we know that's not an issue ...

Then they didn't even look at my leg!!! Support stockings for 6 weeks and come back in straight away if any chest pain, shortness of breath. Said very causally despite the fact if this was the case I would be having a pulmonary embolismHmm they were very busy but Jesus a little explanation goes a long way. honestly i have no confidence in today's review so will just do what I think!
Thanks for asking Elle as well glad to hear yoga went well my hips are in tatters maybe it's worth a go! Might ring the Physio again too.

Potato there's signs up all over my maternity unit going on and on about how babies need all the cuddles and it's not possible to spoil them etc etc seems an old fashioned out of date things to think you can cuddle them too much.

I've been off since tue canters feeling guilty too but you need to look after yourself first that's all I keep telling myself.
Glad to here you're doing well pink

Feefeefs · 09/09/2016 17:30

Are you okay stardrey?

PotatosMum · 09/09/2016 17:32

The mystery has been solved! The button came from a friend of OHs. He did tell OH he was sending it but OH forgot Confused

OH also came home from work today with two lovely little outfits from his work mates. Smile

And I've finally finished Arya's cross stitch. Just adding her name and DOB Then I can get it framed Smile

ElleSarcasmo · 09/09/2016 21:52

Danni I was actually considering texting the instructor to request we do it every week!

Potato the Moses basket is gorgeous, where is it from? The button is super cute too.

Sad for tattered hips Feefs. I'd say it's worth a try. My pelvic pain has been better today.

AudreyBradshaw · 09/09/2016 21:57

I'm alright thanks guys. Had a nice day. Feeling much more positive. Thank you for thinking of me!

Will do a proper read and update, sorry for being so vague and cryptic. But hopefully things are looking up a bit!

Xxx

Elle Moses basket is from mamas and papas. Matching sheets are from Tesco Smile

Audrey glad you're feeling more positive. Whatever is going on in your life I hope it resolves itself soon x

Nevlet · 10/09/2016 04:17

Audrey glad things are looking up for you Smile

Potato are you up for a feed too?

Sodasoda · 10/09/2016 06:02

Thanks everyone Smile

I've never felt so exhausted. 3rd night in a row with less than an hours sleep - first 2 in labour and tonight because Ali has cried virtually all night off and on and won't sleep anywhere but on me which then means I can't really sleep because I'm worried about squishing her! I'm surprised by how much I love her already. I don't think I got that straight away when she arrived I but I have the feeling now.

Pink sounds like we had a similar experience re drip / epidural. They basically advised me to have epidural before they started the drip properly and I'm glad I did.

Miley - what is it about the epidural you're scared about? It's not the most pleasant thing when it goes in but I don't think I could have done it without given the intensity of contractions you get with the induction drip.

Hoping to go home today. Alexa isn't latching on that well but to be honest I'll go mad if I stay here any longer! Will be far more relaxed in own home. I seem to be producing lots of colostrum so I've been expressing into syringes and she takes those so I know she's getting some food. Plus she's had 5 poos since she was born so something must be going in her Shock

Leonie gosh that is funny about weights and weeks! I was always measuring smaller than average on bump and growth scans so wasn't expecting a whopper! Nobody seems concerned about the weight tho.

ElleSarcasmo · 10/09/2016 08:00

It's gorgeous Potato, will have to go and have a look. I didn't realise tesco did baby bed sheets and that kind of thing, did you buy online or is there a big tesco near you? There is a tesco near us but not a huge one-I don't think they'd have much baby stuff.

Soda sounds like you're doing brilliantly. 5 poos is loads!

Audrey sorry you've been having a crap time. Hope things are looking up a bit now Flowers

We were thinking of going out today but it's chucking it down. I will probably just go for a swim and maybe do some tidying. Exciting!
