Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! This heat can kiss my arse. And who KNEW being so neurotic about which changing mat to buy could be so satisfying and addictive!

Roll up literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

There is another two who I have a shared caseload with its just the wait will definitely be longer with 2 rather than 3!

Looking forward to it post baby potato!

Hope all goes well today Elle!

Lovely to hear of the babies smiling potato and bunch! My friends little girl was like that bunch screamed blue murder when being changed!

Scan was okay no clot seen but reduced blood flow (to leg not baby) so not allowed to go back to work and repeat scan/review on Friday. Consultant was concerned work was too much and seemed keen for me to finish! I don't feel ready to finish up yet hopefully things will clear up soon. Very nice doctors and midwifes throughout this experience tho which makes me feel a bit more relaxed about the birth, lots of waiting around though but I suppose will need to learn a bit more patience for baby too!!

Co5mo · 07/09/2016 14:08

Feef that's good news about there being no clot. I hope the blood flow sorts itself out though.

Elle I'm sorry you're off cake atm. At least it should only be temporary.

Fingers crossed everything has gone well for Pink

3rd trimester symptoms have just kicked in properly. So pleased I'm not at work. Episides of abdominal pain waking me last night...at one point I did wonder if I was going into labour but it all cleared up by morning. Been to see the midwife this morning. She thinks I was probably getting BH at the same time as baby making big movements. Apparently that can trigger contraction like pain. And she thinks I haven't grown again. Measuring 28 weeks at 35 Hmm. Well if my clothes are anything to go by she's wrong. Scan tomorrow afternoon.

And in better news our nursery furniture is being delivered in the morning.

Sodasoda · 07/09/2016 15:47

Feef glad to hear there's no clot on the leg.

Cosmo I hope the scan goes well. I've been having regular growth scans (high BP issues) and baby is measuring average but midwife always comments that I'm small on bump measurements - I don't think bump measuring is always very accurate.

So I'm experiencing 'leaking' today. I keep thinking I'm wetting myself but I'm not. It's not CM like I've been getting - it's clear and soaks right through to my jeans. Could this be my membranes leaking? I don't think there's enough for my waters breaking and there's been no 'gush'. No contractions as such but low level period pain today and yesterday. 39 weeks today. I might give the ward a ring and see what they think.

Co5mo · 07/09/2016 16:10

Soda I don't trust the measurements as it's always different depending on who does it but we do know Baby's arms and legs were short three weeks ago so it's just a case of waiting to see what tomorrow brings.

You should definitely ring the ward. Waters don't always break with a gush and leaking like that sounds suspiciously like they've gone. I've had days where my CM has been quite watery but I wouldn't have described it like I was leaking. Does it smell slightly sweet? That's apparently a sign it's amniotic fluid.

PotatosMum · 07/09/2016 17:08

Feef glad the scan was clear. Hopefully the next one will be better.

Cosmo I really think the measurements are unreliable. More guess work than anything.

Soda not all waters break with a gush, they can break slowly. I'd get it checked out. The midwife will probably want you to catch some of the fluid in a sanitary towel so she can sniff it Confused

Does anyone else's baby hiccup for Britain??? Arya seems to always have hiccups, but then she did when she was inside me too.

Mileymoocow · 07/09/2016 17:11

soda yes! Give midwife a call, sounds like it could be waters to me.

feef great news that it isn't a blood clot Smile

Hope everyone's OK. Will try to catch up but bloody hell I'm so exhausted Shock I can't seem to stop wanting to nap.

shelbTa · 07/09/2016 17:22

Potato mine hiccups too - particularly after a feed, apparently it's natures was of clearing wind.

Thinking of pink.

Soda - that sounds like could be m waters to me! I'd keep towel and ring midwife.

Glad scan was clear feef.

Bunch - wow, year ago since original thread!!

IndiX · 07/09/2016 19:37

Hi ladies,

Thinking of pink, hope everything has gone well for her and she's having lots of baby cuddles.

Good news about the scan feefs

Miley I feel exactly the same. I haven't had an afternoon nap today and I'm feeling it!

Soda hopefully this is the start of something! Any updates on what the midwife has advised?

leoniethelioness · 07/09/2016 19:53

Midwife taught me a new breastfeeding position this morning and it's working! 😁😀😁 #smugmummy

The real test is whether it works at 3 am... Think DH is bottle feeding Theo at around midnight so hoping to get about five hours of sleep after Bake Off and his 9ish pm feed.

leoniethelioness · 07/09/2016 19:54

Thinking of you both, Pink and Soda. My waters went in spectacular waterfall style but I'm not sure it's always like that.

AudreyBradshaw · 07/09/2016 20:09

Hoping pink is cuddling baby, and that everyone is well. Fingers crossed soda

Been reading but haven't had much positive news to share (all well though, not being a drama llama) just a stressful week or so.

Yes potato Bodhi has hiccups at least once a day.

Had our first comedy sick earlier he burped so well during a feed moved him about 15 minutes later and got soaked to my pants. In his defence he did look shocked it has happened!

ElleSarcasmo · 07/09/2016 21:04

Thanks Feefs, it was ok. I had a scan, then saw the obstetric and diabetic teams, as well as the dietician (who was lovely). My fasting readings are still high, likely to need night insulin at some point but ok to carry on monitoring for now. So glad your scan was ok, hope you can get some rest and that work are supportive about it. Hopefully your colleague will see the complaining women before you get back!

Ooh Soda, sounds promising! Are you going in tonight?

Thinking of Pink, hope she's snuggling a lovely newborn!

Sorry things are a bit crap Audrey!

Baby hiccups are so cute!

Sodasoda · 07/09/2016 22:12

Thanks everyone. I've called the ward and am going in tonight. They want to check if waters have broken and if they have they'll keep me in as I started leaking this morning. Eeeeeeek!! Shock Will keep you posted.

PotatosMum · 07/09/2016 22:44

Shelb, Nev oh good, glad it's not just Arya Smile

Leonie glad you've found something that works Smile

Soda good luck!! Grin

Pink hope all is well and you're too busy with baby cuddles to talk to us Wink

Have had a couple of people criticise me for cuddling Arya too much. She's not even 3 weeks old, how can any amount of cuddling be too much?!

LillianFullStop · 07/09/2016 22:45

glad it's not a blood clot feef and agree it's a plus to meet the team at the hospital - at least it will be familiar when you come in to give birth.

wow so exciting soda!! that pregnancy massage might have to be a normal massage in a couple of months instead!

thinking of pink too

LillianFullStop · 07/09/2016 22:50

Potato I wouldn't listen to them - she's 3 weeks old cuddles are bonding for you and baby! I say follow your instincts and do what feels right for you and Arya.

Cosmo I've been getting period pain cramps in the evening too convinced I will wake up in labour or waters broken - I'm only 33w with 3 more weeks until mat leave so I hope not!!! hope she stays put until at least 37-38w

Pinklily1 · 08/09/2016 02:13

Hi ladies

I've not had a chance to catch up on the thread, but just to let you all know baby Evelyn arrived this afternoon, weighing 8lbs. OH isn't keen on photos on the t'interweb so apologies i won't be posting any.

I was induced yesterday afternoon, with a pessary. Waters where then broken a few hours later, and I was moved to a different department so I could still have the water birth I wanted. Unfortunately we failed to progress particularly well so had to come back to the maternity unit to be put on a drip. Baby then ended up being helped out courtesy of an epidural and forceps as she was beginning to get distressed.

I really struggled after my waters were broken as the only pain relief offered was paracetamol and the contractions and pain ramped up once the waters had gone. I didn't want an epidural but can now say I think they are the best thing since sliced bread Smile

Hoping the stitches aren't going to be too sore tomorrow.

Staying overnight tonight given it was an instrumental delivery and I've not slept since yesterday morning. Baby is being a tinker by not taking to breast but we will preserve!

BunchOfBobs · 08/09/2016 02:28

Pink huge congrats on Evelyn's arrival.
So glad the epidural worked for you , sounds quite similar to the end of my labour.
Keep those stitches to the air as much as you can when you get home and shower a couple of times a day to keep them clean. I found a rubber ring helped the first couple of days for sitting. Get on arnica pillules as it helps with the bruising.
Enjoy the newborn snuggles.Atticus was sleepy for the first 24 hours and other than the first feed we had to syringe feed from hand expressing, he's now a boob monster.

leoniethelioness · 08/09/2016 03:11

Congratulations, Pink, on Evelyn's arrival! Glad you're both doing well.

PotatosMum · 08/09/2016 03:47

Pink congrats, so glad to hear that your little girl is here safe and sound Flowers
As Bunch says, shower lots it's least painful to pee in the shower and just keep the area clean as possible. Was it a tear or a cut? Also send OH out for pile cream, you'll probably need it Confused

Danni89 · 08/09/2016 04:02

Congratulations pink... Sounds a bit like my assisted delivery at the end. Enjoy newborn snuggles with Evelyn and try to rest up as I know what no sleep at all for a few days is like

shelbTa · 08/09/2016 04:56

Amazing!!! Congrats pink - and that's the name we've chosen too, great taste! So pleased for you - now the fun begins!

X

Sodasoda · 08/09/2016 04:56

Congratulations pink! Fantastic news!

I think I'll be next! My waters have broken. I'm now being put on antibiotics through a cannula as they probably went when I felt my first 'leaking' at 10am yesterday. Then if no contractions I'll be put on a drip to kickstart things in a couple of hours! Shock

So - waters breaking don't have to be a gush, could just be a feeling like you've wet yourself very slightly.

No pregnancy massage for me! And only 3 days of ML! But I can't wait to meet baby and finally find out the flavour! Grin Wish us luck!

BunchOfBobs · 08/09/2016 05:00

Good luck Soda you'll do amazing. Try get as much sleep and snack as possible. A labour on no sleep is not fun.
