Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! This heat can kiss my arse. And who KNEW being so neurotic about which changing mat to buy could be so satisfying and addictive!

Roll up literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Hope all going smoothly pink!

Good news, work have sorted cover for the third weekend, so this weekend will officially be my last weekend. Trying to focus on the positive rather then the negative (Friday am will be the start of 72 hours on call, followed by a further 48 hours on call the week after, plus no days off in the interim). It's not even strenuous but I just feel so tired these days.

What do tiny new babies sleep under? We've just got gro bag type things so far but now questioning if we need something else when he's tiny?

LillianFullStop · 06/09/2016 21:00

29-Sep scan will come around in no time marmite! Lovely scan drink congrats! the BFP seems boring now after seeing the first scan seeing your wiggly mini baby. congrats!

Potato glad Arya found her magic solution! Hope you get some relief from your piles soon Flowers

Feef hope it's not DVT and you get to go home soon.

Cosmo horaay for mat leave!

danni sorry the baby blues have got you - it must be so overwhelming the first few days esp with the jaundice to worry about. hope it all settles.

canters I read it's growbag or blanket tucked in the cot but never both. I haven't picked up any grow bags yet I'm going to see how cold it gets in the house come winter. I'm planning a muslin swaddle with fleece blanket on top. wonder what the new mum's are using?

hope pink is doing ok!

Mileymoocow · 06/09/2016 21:01

canters I'm going to go by temp. We have newborn gro swaddles and cellular blankets for straight away until I learn how to mum. Great news they got that weekend covered though - that would have been too much.

co5mo brilliant for ML and lovely that your colleagues spoilt you Grin yes yes yes to chocolate cake!

drink that's so lovely! Glad baby was showing off for you, it's such an amazing feeling Grin

Thinking of you pink! Hope you're well on your way to being a mummy Flowers

leoniethelioness · 06/09/2016 21:03

Cellular blankets for tiny babies

Danni Hope you're OK

Just had to fetch DH out of the bath because T is hungry and I'm completely unable to feed him on my right hand side and he's refusing the left. Arghhh.

Nevlet · 06/09/2016 21:13

We have grobags but our room is too hot for them at the mo according to the groegg.

Bodhi is sleeping in a vest in his sleepyhead with a cellular blanket tucked under the sides of the sleepy head so it's actually held about an inch off of him which is good as he cycles his legs in his sleep and kicks off anything touching him.

Danni I have spent most the last 3 days crying on and off! When did you have Mason? I think its only a couple days after me so we can be blue together!

leoniethelioness · 06/09/2016 21:35

Theodore sleeps in a vest and sleepsuits with a cellular blanket on top (not folded as that counts as two blankets) and tucked under his mattress. He's also a cyclist in his crib, Nev. We had him in the Sleepyhead last night as he wouldn't settle but I worried about him smooshing his face against the sides 😶 so I think we'll try without it again.

Just expressing before bed now. Being kind to myself and just expressing at 9 am, 3 pm, 9 pm and 3 am now. Theodore is still having expressed breastmilk top ups but is spending longer on the breast so I'm missing out the other 4 pumping sessions. Can't wait to cut down on the remaining 4 too... Nothing fun about getting out of bed to sort a bottle out in the night.

leoniethelioness · 06/09/2016 21:37

*sleepsuit

Sodasoda · 06/09/2016 21:46

Evening everyone

Hope things are going well for pink
*
Cosmo* congrats on ML! Hooray!

Canters I've got a gro snug which are suitable for babies from 5lbs up to 12lbs. I think the gro bags are only good for babies once they're about 9lbs so depends on how big baby is when it arrives.

Dani / Nev I hope you're doing ok. From what friends have said it seems to be v normal to be tearful so early.

Great news on scan drink!

I had to move my pregnancy massage to Friday as I was waiting in for John Lewis to come and fit curtains in the nursery and they were late - so annoyed! But I did go and see a friend with a 2 week old, so gorgeous. Baby was kicking me like mad as I was cuddling friend's baby as if to say 'oi, mum, remember me!' Smile Have had a lot of period pains today and keep wondering if things are starting up. 39 weeks tomorrow Shock

Feefeefs · 06/09/2016 22:21

Have to stay over night as couldn't get the scan today and too risky to go home. Feel ridiculous everyone else on the ward is so pregnant and seems in pain and I've got a sore leg. Scan tomorrow at 10:50.

Lovely scan drink.

Sorry about the baby blues Dani hope they are brief.

Excited for news pink!

PotatosMum · 07/09/2016 03:35

Pink I hope you're busy cuddling a baby now Smile

Feef hope your night in hospital has been ok and they don't keep you waiting around too much tomorrow. Hopefully you'll be given the all clear and make it home by midday.

Cosmo yay for mat leave Smile

Dannie hope you feel a bit better today. Go easy on yourself. The weird hormones after birth are a nightmare!!'

Drink well done, that's a lovely little scan.

Canters at the moment it's so warm Arya has slept in a sleep suit and nothing else. If it gets a bit cool I've been using a light receiving blanket on her lower half.

Leonie sounds like you're having a few feeding pains. Hopefully T will work out that both boobs are yummy soon that's a sentence I never thought I'd say!

Nev hope the hormones settle down soon.

soda sorry you had to delay your massage but fingers crossed things are kicking off and you miss it entirely Wink

shelbTa · 07/09/2016 05:26

Thinking of you pink!

Hope all goes ok feef.

Danni - we had the same in hospital with jaundice testing. Have they told you to try and push fluids through?

Mummies - in struggling with the baby blues a little I think, mainly caused by trauma of the birth. Is anyone else??

X

leoniethelioness · 07/09/2016 06:16

I struggle with guilt over the birth and the fact it didn't happen how I wanted it to, shelb. My DSis has been quite low about her birth experience too and it doesn't help that she's still in pain.

Persevering with breastfeeding but little man not cooperating much this morning. 7 minutes and then he fell off...

ElleSarcasmo · 07/09/2016 07:46

Morning all!

Potato sounds like your first day alone went well Smile, so pleased to hear things are better with your mum too. It must be a weight off your mind. Good luck to your OH for tomorrow, if he's anything like mine he'll be a different person tomorrow!

Miley I laughed out loud at 'other people's pregnancies go quicker than mine'! So true!

Yay for 22 weeks Ni!

Hi First, hope everything's going well.

The Gaviscon is good stuff Indi, I am scared of running out!

I'd love some cake Co5mo, sadly no cake for me now until after baby's here!

Lovely pics Drink! So pleased everything is ok Smile

Feefs that sounds rubbish! How are you today? Hope you get the all clear after the scan.

Canters that's good news about the on call. I know what you mean about work. I'm just so tired and grumpy. It is totally draining. Oh well only 8 weeks to go! (1 week of that a/l luckily)

Too cute that Bodhi and Theodore are cycling in their sleep Nev and Leonie! Smile

PotatosMum · 07/09/2016 07:52

Shelb I struggled for a few days and I still have the odd off day. I also find myself obsessing about the fact that I couldn't stop my body pushing when they were telling me to, I could have really hurt Arya and that freaks me out.

Are you managing to get much sleep? I find I always struggle more when Arya refuses to let me sleep.

Speaking of which, I'm going to have to wake Arya in a minute. We've got the HV coming to do her hearing check this morning so she needs to be fed and changed and relocated downstairs by 9:30... Typical, the one morning she wants a lie in and I have to wake her up!

Poop update, I managed to poop last night but it was not a pleasant experience and now my tailbone feels bruised Confused

PotatosMum · 07/09/2016 07:55

Oops! I don't need to wake the baby after all... She just sneezed herself awake! Grin I think she was dreaming about wanting milk lol

Nevlet · 07/09/2016 08:10

Potato do you find yourself worrying/monitoring what Arya eats and when? Since switching to formula I am becoming a bit obsessed over it. Eg last night Dad did 2.30 feed he fell asleep after only 2oz (sometimes he is still starving after 4!) then he overslept till 7.30 and has again gone back to sleep after 2. Its less than normal so now I am worried somethings wrong with him!

Feefeefs · 07/09/2016 08:14

Worst sleep ever no comfortable bed on the ward!! Woke every time I rolled over. So much snoring too!! Ha ha. Lots of people being induced. Very awkward too as I cover this ward as part of my job and had two patients referred yesterday! Heard one of them giving out they'd not been seen yet Blush.

How're things going with the GD Elle?

PotatosMum · 07/09/2016 08:41

Nev as long as Arya's eating until she doesn't want more/falls asleep in not too worried. She too usually has a lot (she's up to 5 or 6 oz now) but sometimes she'll only have 2 or 3 and then sleep all afternoon. I figure she'll just make up for it later.
The best indication is nappies though. As long as you're getting lots of wet nappies and about one poop nappy a day all is right with the world Smile

Feef eek that must be a bit awkward. Those beds are horrible but on the bright side when you have to use one after giving birth you're so tired that it'll feel wonderful Wink

ElleSarcasmo · 07/09/2016 08:48

I've got the scan and clinic this morning Feefs. I've been pretty good with the diet but my fasting readings haven't been brilliant so I think I'll probably be put on meds today. I'm not thrilled but happy to do whatever's best for the baby and me. Oops that sounds awkward with those 2 patients! Sounds like nobody's covering you while you're off?

Nevlet · 07/09/2016 08:51

One poop a day? This lad poops at least 7 times a day!!

PotatosMum · 07/09/2016 09:01

Lol Nev that's fine then Grin

Nevlet · 07/09/2016 09:05

He managed to pee on his own face and up the dining room wall yesterday so no issues there either!

PotatosMum · 07/09/2016 09:34

Lol, I'm glad Arya is a girl, the amount of times she waits until her nappy is off to pee is quite alarming. It's got to a point where I don't bother changing her sleep suit until she's managed to pee on it Confused

She's so cute though. I think she was trying to smile earlier, once she's mastered that I think she'll be a smiley baby.

I can't remember if I asked but has anyone else downloaded baby+?

BunchOfBobs · 07/09/2016 10:01

Nev this one is once a week ShockHmm

Potato Atticus is smiling so it won't be long until Arya is I'm sure. I swear he laughed in his sleep the other day. I haven't downloaded baby+ is it worth it? I've got wonder weeks and thinking it was a waste of £1.99 but we'll see. It would seem it's at least almost a year of chatting. I remember come to the decision of TTC in September and I found the thread a few days after it Had been started. So if it's not a year yet it is very soon.

Any other mums does your baby HATE you changing them? Honestly you'd think clean clothes were torture. I've got my friend from Oz coming to visit today so Atticus seems less than impressed that we're leaving the bedroom before noon, pampered little prince. Dummy to the rescue as he just got angry at the boob- how dare it squirt milk at him when he sucks!! Atticus is now 4 weeks old. What the actual?!

Baby group was good, met a lady there who I met back when 18 weeks preggo so that was nice. Been told about lots of other groups I can go to through the week too.

Feefs hope all is well with the scan today.

Lovely scan Drink. Congrats.

PotatosMum · 07/09/2016 11:43

Bunch I think bottle fed babies are supposed to be more poopy.

You're right, it must be about a year since we started chatting. That's amazing! Even more so seeing how many of us have gone from talking about having a baby to having an actual baby Shock

I quite like baby+ I actually find it better than pregnancy+

Yes Arya hates changing her clothes or nappy. Most times you'd think I was murdering her. The only thing she hates more is bogie removal! Confused

So, hearing check has been done and Arya has passed with flying colours. The hearing tester brought a second HV with her, I think because I called them about Arya's poop as this was mentioned. I think they wanted to check I was coping, seem to have passed the test.
