Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! This heat can kiss my arse. And who KNEW being so neurotic about which changing mat to buy could be so satisfying and addictive!

Roll up literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Pink I had one round of oxytocin in the hour before he was born as contractions stalled and yes I had to have a cannula. It was absolutely fine though.

Pinklily1 · 04/09/2016 08:29

Thanks for the info Nev. Just so I know what to expect.

Bodhi is gorgeous! And you look amazing in the second photo!

Nevlet · 04/09/2016 08:32

I know people say inductions are not pleasant but really the drip I had of it was fine pink. If you do get induced they will have time to use some lidocaine cream on your hand too to numb the site first.

Thanks that was our first morning in hospital. Not too bad for 2l down on blood haha!

IndiX · 04/09/2016 08:37

Nev you look gorgeous and Bodhi is SO adorable. I love how hairy he is, Bodhi was on my boys name list tooGrin

leoniethelioness · 04/09/2016 08:41

Lovely photos of Bodhi. My DSis has a nephew called Bodhi - such a cool name.

No induction here but I had a cannula with my caesarean and agree that it was totally fine. ☺

drinkyourmilk · 04/09/2016 09:02

Sounds like she's doing well Potato, hope it's been a bit better today. I can imagine it's really hard when you can't help them Sad.
Pink I had a cannula with my general for egg collection, and it felt weird, but not painful - and I have a low pain threshold, used numbing cream for ivf shots each day.
Nev you look all mother earth in that photo, absolutely beautiful. Bodhi is gorgeous.

I'm so impressed with the 5 inch heals! I can't wear them normally!
Hope everyone else is doing well and enjoying their weekend. It's grim weather here, but we are heading to a national Trust place anyhow as I'm working this afternoon and yesterday, so want to do something fun.

AudreyBradshaw · 04/09/2016 09:18

Beautiful nev absolutely gorgeous and Bodhi is a little stunner!

hep I'm so sorry, got my fingers crossed that all is well at the next scan for you.

Need to catch up properly, been a busy few days, had 3 funerals this week and another tomorrow. I think it's possible there may be something slightly more to my trapped nerve, possibly the pelvic girdle thing? As a fortnight seems a long time to have issues. Will ask midwife on Wednesday.

OP posts:
PotatosMum · 04/09/2016 09:22

Pink yep, cannular here too and I was told by the midwife it's a large gauge as apprised to what you'd get elsewhere in the hospital.

Nev the massive piles are delightful aren't they? Get some cream on it ASAP or you'll end up like me, still struggling to poop 2 weeks later.
Bodhi is adorable!
Glad it's not just me with the random sickness.

Still feeling a bit low today. I didn't get much sleep. I'm not worried about OHs job interview, I'm pretty sure his manager created the job for him and the interview is just a formality, it's just that when OH is stressed he's a bit up and down bless him.
Also feeling the strain a little, I think OH forgets that he's been a dad 13 years so knows what to expect but I've only been a mum 2 weeks and everything is new and scary and even though Arya is usually a good baby I'm still sleep deprived and I have piles that are hurty.
I'm sure all will settle down once he's had his interview and isn't so stressed.

Canters15 · 04/09/2016 09:22

hep I'm so sorry things aren't looking good. Do look after yourself.

Congrats Danni! Mason is beautiful! And nev you look gorgeous in that picture, I love the name bodhi.

My hormones have got a lot worse miley. I started crying during a one on one teaching session with my boss the other day because I was so tired. It was so awkward. Am a bit fed up with work, theyve rota'd me for three weekends (should have only been two) so I basically have a 6 week stretch of working every other weekend I.e. I do three 12 day stretches. Ive been so tired this week after the first weekend I just dont know how I can keep going, work have said they will try and do something about covering one of the weekends but I don't see who's going to do it, we're short as it is.

Lol at hot pipe!!

Mileymoocow · 04/09/2016 09:29

pink we were going to see the Ricky Gervais film but I decided I couldn't be bothered so we had a take away and watched a film at home instead.

Haha he definitely has a death wish! But I did encourage him to go out as much as possible for the next 3 weeks because he's on an alcohol ban from 38 weeks!

Also pink I can't begin to describ how much of a wimp I am when it comes to hospitals/needles etc - it's utterly pathetic, OH still holds my hand when I have to have bloods taken. I had to have a cannula in when I had to be rehydrated with my HG and I was honestly fine with it. The anti sickness injection into my arse was so much worse.

nev what an absolute peach! We also have Bhodi on our boys shortlist - it's such a lovely name! I agree with everyone else, you look utterly fantastic!

35+1 and all symptoms that had me worried I was going into early labour have gone! Just the boring back/hip ache and heartburn now. Soooo looking forward to next week being done! Did anyone else feel a bit emotional leaving work for ML? I'm really close to my team at work - we all get on so well and are really quite good friends. Bizarre if you knew the age/personality differences but it just works! I'm a bit sad about how much I will miss them but realise once baby is here I wont have time to even think about it!

Mileymoocow · 04/09/2016 09:33

Oh God canters that it a bit cruel of them! Hopefully they will be able to cover it but remember that you're number 1 priority so don't push yourself too much!

potato it's normal to worry! Everything will work out perfectly. Is he out of a job if he isn't successful?

indi I forgot to say - my heartburn starts in my chest and travels up to the back of my throat. It has made me sick a few times Blush gaviscon double action tablets or peptac liquid are the best things I've tried.

PotatosMum · 04/09/2016 09:41

Hmm... Just had a five minute sob because I don't have any clean clothes. I washed some but it rained yesterday so they didn't dry and my tumble dryer is in the garage and I have no clothes to wear that aren't covered in epic baby vomit so I couldn't take the laundry out and despite knowing this no one has offered to do it for me. I may be suffering some left over hormones but I don't want to have to ask someone to do it for me when they know I'm struggling.

PotatosMum · 04/09/2016 09:44

Miley no, OHs job is secure either way, it's just that he's currently doing a job that he's over qualified for. He mentioned to his boss he was going to look internally for something else and his boss told him he was desperate to keep him in the department and suddenly this job appeared... OH just gets really nervous about interviews. He's had some bad experiences and now expects them to go wrong.

Planeteer · 04/09/2016 10:49

Morning all

Potato I hope the interview goes well and he's able to chill out a bit! DH def gets tunnel vision when he's stressed and totally forgets about being supportive sometimes, I feel your pain! What day is the interview? How's Arya doing today? Any more joy with feeds?

Indi ha to Hot Pipe! Hilarious but totally perfect way to describe it. It makes me feel like Gollum (it buuuuurns) and have now always got Rennie in my handbag (upping the glamour stakes along with the panty liners!)

Nev Bodhi is totally gorgeous and so are you! That pic of you together is amazing.

Pink really hope tiny one doesn't keep you waiting much longer and that things get going naturally for you!

Danni eeee! Congrats on the arrival of Mason. What a little poppet he is! How are you feeling?

I got back from a hen weekend last night (only stayed one night in the end and as the activities were 'drinking games in the hot tub' I ended up perched on a bench in the cold serving everyone drinks...tried v hard to keep hormones in check but couldn't help getting a tiny bit grumpy!) am so tired today I feel like my eyes are inside out! It's not going to be a productive one I fear!

Have managed to get a physio appointment for my pelvic pain though, so hopefully it'll stop feeling like it wants to crack in half soon!

Anyone fancy joining me on the irrationally fed up and achy couch? I may be a grump but I have virtual chocolate biscuits and ice lollies...

leoniethelioness · 04/09/2016 10:54

Hope you're okay, Potato. Sending lots of love and hugs. Be kind to yourself.

Mamas - where can I buy cheap nursing vests online?

Pinklily1 · 04/09/2016 11:10

Leonie, as in vests to wear during the day, over nursing bras? If so, H&M have some in my local store, so I would assume they have them online too. Also Mothercare.

Danni89 · 04/09/2016 11:10

Nev, Bodhi is gorgeous!! You look beaut! And yes to piles! Horrid! And also sore nips... Really trying to preserve though (ouchy)

Hot pipe is acid reflux I think indi lol

Midwife coming today, hopefully all is good- and cue visitors...

BunchOfBobs · 04/09/2016 11:24

Hep so sorry to hear that,'thinking of you. Be kind to yourself Flowers

Nev such a beautiful photo and what an amazing name. My first photo with Atticus I'm unconscious with a flannel on my head ha! How are you doing with the anemia? I only lost 1.3l but literally felt like death for the first week and could barely get to the loo without collapsing.

Pink I had a cannula and rather many attempts to place it. Same as potato large gauge as apparently my veins were mega dilated. They didn't hurt going in but were sore the next morning and the first things I requested were catheter and cannula removal.

I had the syntocin drip to speed up contractions (2 bags worth) and sorry to say it wasn't fun. That's when I requested an epidural but because I hadn't slept in 32 hours by that point as I've already said it failed and I opted for gas and air instead.

Sorry to hear you're feeling down potato, fingers crossed all goes well for OHs interview. Delightful piles here too. The itching has just kicked in boo. You could be passive aggressive like me and make a huge song and dance about trying to do it yourself which then usually gets people running around after me, but it would be kinder to yourself just to tell them it needs doing. Hormones are delightful still.

Yes Miley! The placenta jab and jab to make my cervix contract (because of my PPH) both into my ass made me Yelp in pain, cannula hurt more being taken out.

Pinklily1 · 04/09/2016 11:47

They put the placenta jab in your bum?! Shock

Nevlet · 04/09/2016 11:52

Blimey everyone thank you for all your kind comments. I am completely biased and think he is just perfect!

Bunch not too bad I managed a little walk round town yesterday and the only way I could describe to OH how it made me feel was like my insides were shaking and in the wrong place. I am having my levels tested again tomorrow at the drs.

Am waiting in for day 5 midwife visit have a feeling they just won't turn up today...

marmitecheesetoast · 04/09/2016 12:07

Wow Nev what a beauty, just gorgeous! Lovely photos! Glad your stitches are healing well too.

Potato hope you're ok and feeling a bit better and have found some clean clothes. Hope Ayra is feeding a bit better today?

LOL at hot pipe Indix! Grin Hope the drive back to Scotland goes ok today. It's a 5 hour drive me and DH know only too well as I'm from Scotland but we live in Manchester. It can be a long old slog up the road.

You work sounds a bit full on Canters hope they manage to find someone to cover.

I had a bit of a scare in the night. Got up for a wee and was careful not to get up too quickly as usual. Felt fine but then got half way along the landing and suddenly felt very hot and dizzy. Shouted for DH who found me on the floor, I must have fainted before he got there but don't really remember what happened. What was scary was that it was right at the top of our ridiculously steep Victorian terrace stairs... I've felt a bit light headed a few times so far but haven't actually fainted, it just came over me so quickly. I guess being half asleep maybe didn't help?

I was also wondering whether anyone had used anything like this www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/multi-use-belly-band-a9117.html in earlier pregnancy and could recommend? I seem to start the day fine but by the end of the day getting quite bloated and my jeans and work trousers starting to get uncomfortably tight some days. Any recommendations greatly appreciated? Smile

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday Brew Cake

Feefeefs · 04/09/2016 13:50

Thanks co5mo, drink, potato, Lillian, soda, miley, pink, indi, Elle have rebooked but it's quite close to due date found the whole experience horrendous, got caught in really bad traffic on the way there and everyone was driving like a maniac completely psyched me out for the test! Rolled back during a hill start so it was a major and failed the test, didn't actually get that many minors. Have to keep looking for cancellations.

Congratulations on mat leave soda!!

Congratulations on the heartbeat marmite.

I'm team vanilla *Lillian.
*
I feel very insensitive saying this but I was I could stop pooing. Already been 3 times today. I don't think I would rather be constipated but a normal poo would be nice!

I've been ridiculously emotional this past week crying, fighting everything it's been shit, trying to sort the mortgage and everything for the house, work is bonkers, driving test and hips pain is back with a vengeance. Feeling very sorry for myself to be honest.

Beautiful baby nev!

Sodasoda · 04/09/2016 14:20

Hep so sorry to hear your news. I hope you have supportive people around you.

Marmite congrats on the heartbeat! I've never used a belly band thing so no advice here I'm afraid. The fainting sounds very scary. Perhaps mention to MW / doctor - you might have anaemia / low BP.

Nev you both look gorgeous! Great pics!

Miley nope, not emotional at all about leaving work! WinkGrin

Pink I think ML will start to feel a bit more real tomorrow when DH leaves for work and I don't! Having a nice couple of days getting a few things finished off in the nursery. I've got a few things to do next week - getting nursing bras and also have a pregnancy massage booked and lunch with a couple of friends who are off with babies so looking forward to it. I think I'll be pretty keen for baby to come by the end of the week / start of next week but don't mind it staying put for a few days. I'm 38+4 today.

Potato hope you're feeling better and you've got some help.

I'm sorry, think I've missed lots of people out. Hope everyone is doing something nice this weekend and people aren't suffering too much with aches / pains etc

Feefeefs · 04/09/2016 18:47

So sorry to hear your news hep I didn't catch all of the thread. So sorry.

IndiX · 04/09/2016 21:20

Evening ladies,
Sorry this is a bit of a selfish post before I catch up properly. I'm feeling a bit dodgy tonight, feeling really shaky, sick, have bloody hot pipe/acid reflux/heartburn and just generally feel a bit out of it. Just tested my bloody pressure and it's 100/70 and my pulse is 99. My BP is always pretty low anyway but my pulse is so high considering I'm lying in bed.
Maybe I'm just tired and haven't eaten the best today. Anyone else felt like this?
