May 2017 - anybody out there?

Hi

I just found out at the weekend that I'm pregnant, this will be no. 2. Had no idea how far gone I was as I had just had AF 7th Aug but after a very early scan this morning it looks like I've conceived since then...very surprised as HPT is seriously strong and I got 5 +ve OPK's last week which by the scan I would have only just conceived at that point.

Very much a waiting game at the moment and back in 2 weeks for another scan. If I am indeed only 3 weeks then I have pretty much the same due date as I had for my DD Grin only 1 year apart. Let the crazy times commence!

Anyone else this early in pregnancy and due in May 2017?

Morning all. Hello to those who've just joined in! C&P your stats into the list and repost it so we know where we are.

I have nausea and bloating. Jeans definitely felt tight the last few days. Boobs feel weird and tingly. And tired too! After saying how fit I was planning to keep I haven't don't anything since Monday. Oops. That said I'm going to try and do a longish walk this morning. Rare morning alone so it will be a treat.

Also pondering a wedding outfit for 11-12 weeks, assuming I get that far it will be too early for maternity clothes but I would doubt anything in my current wardrobe would fit without giving the game away!

grainmum · 02/09/2016 09:17

Anyone else feeling light-headed? Don't remember this from last time. Definitely staggering about a bit if I stand up too fast!

I woke up at 4am with major anxiety about having a miscarriage. I've got no reason to think it but I can't get it out my head. I'm still having pregnancy symptoms, weird boobs, tired, so if there was an issue I assume these would stop. Is there anything I can do to feel better or do I just have to suck it up and be a big girl?

teainbed · 02/09/2016 09:58

I don't know of anything can help really, it's a long time until the first scan and that reassurance that things are ok. And then there's a wait for the anomaly scan and tests and things. I wouldn't say pull yourself together or anything! But acknowledge that whilst it's a happy time it can be worrying too. But then when they're born you worry too.......

Rabbitykins55 · 02/09/2016 10:15

Thank you. Smile I know that the worry will probably never go completely. It's just all so new to me and I'm frightened. I've been putting off registering with the midwife in case something happens but I know it's just me being ridiculous so I'm going to self refer tonight when I get home. I wish I could feel excited. My husband is all excited and looking at things already and I'm being a big misery! Blush

Northernexile · 02/09/2016 11:06

I think this the worst bit Rabbity. It's stressful and you can't really talk to anyone, haven't seen scans etc. The bit from the 12 week to 20 week scan seems to go quite fast I think- the risks of anything going wrong are much lower by then and you will probably feel really well at that stage, and then you start getting kicks and that is reassuring too. Hang on in for another few weeks and it'll all get easier, promise!

Rabbitykins55 · 02/09/2016 11:14

Thank you. It really does help knowing I'm not being completely mental and that it's normal to be worried. I'm going to register tonight and may book for an early private scan in a few weeks time. The rational, sensible part of my brain knows that worrying won't make it any better!

Ghostonthedancefloor · 02/09/2016 11:59

rabbity you are definately not alone in your worries. I am really worried this pg that I have pushed my luck with going for a third. I'm trying to not worry about the lack of symptoms too. I can't even bring myself to do the last digi/FRER because I have this image in my head of there being no line or not pregnant. But I also know seeing the 3+ would make me feel so much better. Aarrrggghhh!

Rabbitykins55 · 02/09/2016 12:10

Ah ghost a girl after my own heart, I'm currently working out if I can get another test at lunch time and do it in Tescos toilets without being seen by anyone at work! Wink

Dustpan · 02/09/2016 12:32

Hello all, saying hello again after a busy week.

Tingly boobs already so I looked at buying a comfy bra - and I found the perfect thing on Peacocks for £4!!! Who knew??! Good old Peacocks.

It's called a "bralette" ands it's no underwire, stretchy soft material, removable pads and nice slim straps. Not sure it will do me once boobs start to grow but def doing the job in the meantime.

Am feeling more tired by the day & racing to get as much done as poss before sickness descends. Unless maybe I'll escape it this time? Anyone had bad morning sickness with DC1 but then nothing with DC2?? (Hopeful!)

Dustpan · 02/09/2016 12:38

Ps rabbity I had an early scan at 8wks with DC1 due to a concern & I have to say the relief of seeing him on the screen & hearing his heartbeat was immense. However it's never a guarantee that things will continue to develop as you want. I think it's a fine balance to find between learning how to manage our motherly worries for our kids (by the way, that is now here to stay for good!!) and then knowing when to be kind to ourselves and take any extra reassurance we can resource. It's a learning journey and will change throughout your pregnancy. Don't beat yourself up for worrying. Just try to become aware of when you feel happy & excited, and cherish those moments even if fleeting. The end result is soooo worth it!

needzzzs · 02/09/2016 13:10

Hi everyone. Mind if I join? bfp last weekend. I already have a 22 mo who is full of beans so will hopefully have a crash course in toddler plus newborn juggling early May, all going well. I think my EDD is 8th.

Not feeling too bad yet. Constant hunger and a bit giddy. Got dreadful sickness last time so feeling a bit anxious about that happening again. Will just take it as it comes.

congrats everyone and hope you're feeling okay.

waving hello

Rabbitykins55 · 02/09/2016 13:16

Thanks dustpan, I did another test at lunchtime, in the toilets at Tesco, classy! Of course it was fine and must be going in the right direction as its now showing 3+ which is an increase. I'm going to try my very best to be a bit more relaxed about it all because worrying certainly won't change anything for the better.

I must be pregnant, all your lovely replies have made me a bit teary! Smile happy tears of course.

shipperssss · 02/09/2016 13:21

Oh wow, the bloat and nausea both turned up today! I look huge ha

tea have you found anything to wear? I have a wedding reception next week and the bloat is so bad I don't think anything will fit. I also have my dad's 60th in October when I'll be around 12 weeks and I have no idea what to wear for that either.

grainmun I have low blood pressure anyway so do you suffer from lightheadedness, but it gets much worse in pregnancy. Especially early pregnancy. Just try and take it easy Smile

rabbity hope you're feeling a little better. I worried all through my first pregnancy that something was going to go wrong. And unfortunately this one seems to be going the same way. I do suffer badly from anxiety, so I know that that makes it worse. I try to keep busy, is there anything you like doing that will keep your mind busy? I actually woke up at one this morning in pain and thought something was going wrong, actually think it was just trapped wind Blush

I would recommend an early scan to ease your mind!

Hi needzzzs!

Ghost it's funny but I felt exactly the same as you- that I would be pushing my luck with a third. Didn't get that last time. Roll on 12 weeks!

Ghostonthedancefloor · 02/09/2016 14:32

rabbity I was about to say noooo wait till tomo for FMU.. But congrats Grin I will do mine in the morning I think.. Are you thinking of paying for an early scan? I definately am hoping to early October ish.

I also had a wave of literal morning sickness on the way to work. Went to by some biscuits and they seem to have done the trick! Feel fine again now :-/

Rabbitykins55 · 02/09/2016 15:31

Ghost haha yeah I couldn't wait! I was in there so long I'm sure the lady in the other cubical must've thought I was having a difficult poo! Shock yes we want to have an early scan then we will tell close family and hold off on everyone else until the 12 week scan. An hour of work left trying to hide a weed on pregnancy test in my handbag! Wink

Is there something we are supposed to do whilst we wait for scans / midwife appts etc? I keep wanting to retake pregancy tests to check!

teainbed · 02/09/2016 17:52

Nope. Nothing at all! Just waiting and agonising. And symptom spotting. Grin

TheOracleAtSelfie · 02/09/2016 17:58

sipper worrying about miscarriages / multiples / scans / having a(nother) baby. We've just ditched the nappies during the day so that's taking my mind off things slightly Confused

I've finally bought some pregnancy vits, for the last few days I've been using BF ones.

Sipperskipper · 02/09/2016 18:44

It is just a minefield! Am a bit of a worrier anyway....and now there is so much to worry about!

For those of you with some prior experience, is it normal to get some slightly sharp 'twinges' in lower abdomen / maybe cervix area? Its similar / the same as the sort of feeling I sometimes get as I'm coming up to being due on. Not painful, just twinges. Does that sound right ish?

Ghostonthedancefloor · 02/09/2016 19:12

Well rabbity I just took my last FRER and the test line is darker than the control like. It's beautiful Grin
Digi in the morning and that's it for testing now! I could have paid for two early scans the amount I've spent on blinking tests! Gosh every time I see that lovely line I get a warm fuzzy happy feeling. It's lovely.

skipper yes all the weird and wonderful twinges are completely normal. T'is everything stretching.
