May 2017 - anybody out there?

Hi

I just found out at the weekend that I'm pregnant, this will be no. 2. Had no idea how far gone I was as I had just had AF 7th Aug but after a very early scan this morning it looks like I've conceived since then...very surprised as HPT is seriously strong and I got 5 +ve OPK's last week which by the scan I would have only just conceived at that point.

Very much a waiting game at the moment and back in 2 weeks for another scan. If I am indeed only 3 weeks then I have pretty much the same due date as I had for my DD Grin only 1 year apart. Let the crazy times commence!

Anyone else this early in pregnancy and due in May 2017?

Congrats to all those who just have their BFPs. I know what you mean about continuing to test, have spent a fortune on FRERs this week. Line hasn't got darker past couple of days but is definitely there. Just shows how crap the supposed 'ultra sensitive' tests that I bought off amazon are though, as still not getting a BFP from those and have had them FRER since Monday. Probably about 14dpo today so once I get into next week and past af date will probably feel a bit more real. (Feel I should point out that in all other areas of my life I'm a completely sensible and rational being).

Lovely to see all the BFPs. They just make me happy :)

4w 4d today... The days really drag when you're counting them down, don't they?

Haven't told anyone yet apart from DH. DS is only 18mo, I hope everyone will be happy for us and not just worry that they'll be too close in age.

We really want a second, and we have quite a few pressures around us that mean it will be better to do it sooner rather than later.

Anyone else nervous that everyone won't be over the moon for them?!

where I thought my mum would be worried for us. My dd is 18months and has Angelman Syndrome so it might be quite hard to cope with two. I told her last night though and she said I would cope amazingly and she thinks it's a perfect age gap. Phew!

Thank you shippers!

Militant I am the same. Actually just waiting in for the Amazon delivery of the CB digi's, I think I'll do it tomorrow.

My youngest is 5 too but like you, started thinking about it and couldn't stop! I have a boy and two girls, eldest is 11.

Holiday huge congratulations, must be so exciting after your IVF. Hope you can try to relax a bit as the weeks go on.

I'm scared of telling everyone too! Mainly because I think they will think we're crazy and not up to the task of having 3. Also feel like will let other people down, eg best friend - we had been making lots of plans for fun stuff we could do that will not be conducive to pregnancy, other dc - want to go to Florida and I'm not going to attempt that with a newborn. We decided on balance that we would regret not trying for #3 but doesn't mean that all of those worries be had just disappear. Still, they do fade into the background somewhat when I imagine newborn cuddles again.

Militant - my internet cheapie tests were complete rubbish too! Never showed a thing, had to crack out the FrER!

Hanflan - may I ask what the syndrome is your DC has? Will it affect how you look after two kids together do you think? I'm just thinking about it myself as We have just been told it's likely our DS (2.1) has a developmental disorder. Already have masses of appointments for him in the coming weeks, I'm hoping to get as many done as possible before morning sickness kicks in - last time was pretty rough! ConfusedGrin

Tea - how come you're nervous about telling your mum?

Militant - when you tell your best friend, can you give her a 5 year diary and scribble in an asterisk on the date you'll be able to go to Florida?! Or offer her a girls weekend in Blackpool sometime in the next 8 months?!?

hanflan · 25/08/2016 13:46

Dustpan It's Angelman Syndrome, a problem with chromosome 15 which causes severe developmental delay, problems with movement and balance, severe learning difficulties, lack of speech, sleep disorders and epilepsy etc. She will probably walk eventually but not until shes a lot older. So essentially it'll be like looking after two babies even though she will be 2.5 when Peanut is born!
Sorry to hear you are having problems too. What sort of issues is he having?

Report
hanflan · 25/08/2016 13:48

dustpan I am also not too concerned about looking after two as it'll only get more difficult as she gets older, so might as well have another baby now while she is just a toddler. We always knew we wanted another baby regardless of her condition :)

teainbed · 25/08/2016 16:02

Dustpan she just worries a lot! In the kindest way, I know she'll smile and be pleased but won't relax until the baby's out and we're all fine.

Lovelyholiday and Shippers I've continued to POAS as well as AF isn't due until tomorrow - thankfully it's getting really dark now.

I'll need to tell all parents soon as it's already becoming obvious that I'm off the wine and it's only been a few weeks! Any suggestions on how to announce or should I just blurt it out and be done with it?!?

Lovelyholiday · 25/08/2016 17:22

good evening everyone! Have been so tired today, zero energy, its awful!
Yes not sure when ill relax enough to stop the whole POAS Grin Hopefully very soon!
You ladies are all veterans in motherhood! Any other first timers here?
I told my folks the other day, I gave them a pic of the embryo I had transferred (obvs one for the family album!)
Tomorrow morning is my official test day for the clinic. will be taking a clear blue digital in the morning. Hoping it reads 2-3 weeks as that will indicate good hcg levels.

Anyone going to use dry september as a good excuse not to drink (bonus to get sponsorship for it too)

Hope everyone is doing well today.

Hi everyone! I got a faint positive yesterday that I was absolutely convinced was just an evap line, but tested again this afternoon and there it was in all its pink glory haha.

EDD by LMP of 3rd May, but DP is already hoping for a day late for a "born jedi"

teainbed · 25/08/2016 18:39

Congrats Pup! I had a proper squinter at 8 dpo that was later a really clear line when it dried, I didn't know what to think! It was a FRER and I know they don't do evaps so cute frantic Googling and obsessing over multiple images online. Blush How did our mums manage?

I'm going on a boozy weekend with friends in a month. I'll probably end up telling them as they'll never believe the antibiotics/cystitis/dry September story. Grin

I'm feeling exhausted too holiday, it comes to the evening and I can't move from the sofa!

Congrats Pup, our current due date is the 4th May and DH is very excited although the first two were two weeks late so doubt it will happen!

I rang my parents today to tell them but couldn't do it, no idea why not!

Tea - glad it's just general maternal concern from yr mum. With my first, I didn't tell my mum til 12 wks as I knew she would go straight into hyper planning mode & I didn't want to tip her into that whilst still in the possible window for mc. Eventually I broke down at 11 wks as I was in hosp with bad sickness & I just needed to phone my mum for a phone hug!!

Hanflan - so sorry to hear Angelman is so complex, you must have so much to deal with, and I think I know what u mean that things will get harder as she gets older so better timing to have Peanut now. My DS has likely verbal dyspraxia. Apparently they start treatment straight away before waiting for a diagnosis as early intervention helps. We are all learning Makaton, which is fab. He also has hyperactive behaviour, toe walking & some pretty strong reactions to sensory / overstim . He is gorgeous , full of character & the delight of my heart as I'm sure your DS is too Star

Pup - welcome & congrats on your pink line! It's a lovely feeling to see that line isn't it?

Hopefully we will have a better idea of due date after Wednesday, but DD due date was 9th May and my DH was hoping for May 4th, as he likes Star Wars and it's also our wedding anniversary. DD was born over 3 weeks early so was nowhere near May...

I think we will be looking at about 8th May for this one Smile

How's everyone feeling today? I'm still really bloated and felt nauseous last night, went to bed after the baby at about half 8!

I guess im lucky as I know the exact date mine was made, which gives me a due date of May 3rd

Feeling ok today, still have pulling and stretching in my uterus but no sickness, and my boobs aren't hurting too much.

Yey lovely to see those digital tests. I'm going to try and resist buying any more so I need to get my new BfP kicks by proxy Grin. Although my internet cheapies have just started picking up faint bfp so that might keep me going for another few days.
I hadn't event thought of being due around Star Wars day but have another DH who is a massive fan, plus we quite like the name Luke. That might work out well...
Bit crampy and boobs a bit tingly. I find it so weird at this stage when it's like your body is going to take over and you just have to wait and see what it will do. Could be fine, could be vomiting 6 times a day by this time next week.
