May 2017 - anybody out there?

Hi

I just found out at the weekend that I'm pregnant, this will be no. 2. Had no idea how far gone I was as I had just had AF 7th Aug but after a very early scan this morning it looks like I've conceived since then...very surprised as HPT is seriously strong and I got 5 +ve OPK's last week which by the scan I would have only just conceived at that point.

Very much a waiting game at the moment and back in 2 weeks for another scan. If I am indeed only 3 weeks then I have pretty much the same due date as I had for my DD Grin only 1 year apart. Let the crazy times commence!

Anyone else this early in pregnancy and due in May 2017?

Did a test last week at work (!) and couldn't stop smiling for the afternoon Smile

peasandquiet · 26/09/2016 19:50

Thanks sonnet, nice to know someone else is having the same. Food has never tasted so good at the moment going to be the size of a house come may if this carries on. I didn't gain wait till well over 20weeks last time due to sickness!
Welcome mustang, can't believe you tested at work! I'd be too scared someone would twig!

mrspage1985 · 26/09/2016 19:54

Congratulations must, I was going to test at work but was then worried people would wonder why I had been in the toilet so long WinkShock

I'm not finding any cravings yet other than carrot sticks! Loving the crunch and freshness

2 weeks and 4 days to go till early scan, midwife rang me today as well to book in the booking appointment- 24th october
It all seems very real!
X

Have been trying to convince myself that I am not looking huge already, which I am, number three and I seem to have popped out straight away! Cannot convince myself any more though because someone asked me today when I was due. Instantly said I wasn't pregnant but she looked so horrified that she may have implied I was looking fat that I told her. It was all so awkward. Now really paranoid that everyone is thinking that I am pregnant!

SK28 · 26/09/2016 20:03

Damson, you aren't alone. When I was pregnant with my DD, tiredness was more or less my only symptom for a long time, and I thought I'd never be more tired. Now, with a 20mo as well as being pregnant, it's a whole new kettle of fish! Last time I was working, and I couldn't stay awake on my 1.5 hour commute at all. I used to have to go down to the first aid room quite often to try and build up some energy around lunchtime, and I was asleep on the sofa by about 8 every night. It got a bit better after the first trimester but it was my main symptom throughout, to be honest. This time, a sudden decrease in my energy levels was the first thing that alerted me that I might be pregnant again... I'm falling asleep about 5pm every day, my poor little girl has got used to playing quietly while I half-doze on the sofa - I just can't keep my eyes open. I've just started taking prenatal vitamins with folic acid in, although last time I was convinced I was low on iron and every test showed my levels were just fine. I hope the tiredness starts to pass for you soon, Damson, and is just a first trimester symptom for you x

beachsands · 26/09/2016 20:46

Hi all. Just wondering about symptoms and different symptoms on different pregnancies. Had pretty much the same symptoms with both DC who are the same gender. Have different symptoms this time (now still early days)- so wondering if this might indicate a different gender this time around. Any thoughts?

SETRu83 · 26/09/2016 21:13

Hey, first time posting, but I'm 9w+1. So due 1st May!

It my first pregnancy, I've been suffering from ovary pains ( twinges ) and a bit of light spotting over the past week ( keeps coming and going) , it's been worry! Had an early scan last Tuesday, baby in right place and a little heartbeat. Just keeping everything crossed from now on! Next 17th Oct

SETRu83 · 26/09/2016 21:14

*next scan 17th Oct

peasandquiet · 26/09/2016 21:15

I hope so beachsands as I'd love one of each as well a sick free pregnancy win win!

ImogenTubbs · 26/09/2016 22:05

Wow - so many new BFPs! Congratulations all. Feeling slightly better today - thank you Fempsych and Rabbity for the kind words. I will give mindfulness some thought. I'm spotting a bit of a pattern though that it gets worse in the evenings which is clearly being exacerbated by extreme tiredness, so I'm just trying to give myself a rest in the evenings and not get to bed too late. DH is being amazingly supportive and understanding. If I thank him for anything he does for me he just says, "Don't thank me - you're growing a whole new person."

Hope others with yucky symptoms feel better soon. We're going to have to start a new thread soon, aren't we? Smile

ICuntSeeYourPoint · 26/09/2016 22:32

Hello, I'm new! 5 weeks ish - not sure if I'm end of May or early June so hedging my bets currently! Although everyone seems so far along here compared to me! Only symptoms are massive sore boobs and tiredness.

PupPupBoogie · 27/09/2016 00:25

Ive added everyone who sent me PMs to join the facebook group :)

I was supposed to have my booking in appointment today. They actually forgot abut me, and when i went to see what was going on (an hour after my appointment time) they realised I was forgotten, and I have to go back next monday :(

lullaby23 · 27/09/2016 04:31

Some of your DH/DPs sound so supportive and lovely! I made a comment about being tired to DH and he said "oh the excuses are starting already" could have cheerfully punched him in the face tbh.

Thanks for setting up the FB group puppup.

As this thread is rapidly filling up I've started #2 perhaps we can re-do the stats as sadly some have dropped out.

Thread #2

mrspage1985 · 27/09/2016 06:11

Any idea how you pm? From the iPhone app?
I'm trying to PM you to add me to fb group but struggling to figure it out Blush

aaaaaargh · 27/09/2016 06:20

I'm with you gin!! Don't think it'll be long till people are asking me too

Sunshinie · 27/09/2016 06:33

Wow- amazing to see a bump picture! How many weeks are you again?

aaaaaargh · 27/09/2016 06:54

I'm only 7 weeks!! I'm gonna be huuuge ain't I?

ICuntSeeYourPoint · 27/09/2016 08:06

Wow, great bump! About the FB group, will other people (FB friends) be able to see I'm a member of that group and what the group is called? I don't want to raise any suspicions!

MissMooMoo · 27/09/2016 08:22

I feel like my tiredness is easing up a bit, I am still in bed around 9-9:30 but maybe I am getting used to it and its starting to feel normal. Who knows!
I am surviving on cereal, yogurt, toast with honey, bananas and pears. Thats all I can manage to get down, hope I am not doing baby any damage!

MissMooMoo · 27/09/2016 08:23

Oh I sent a PM with my email address for the fb group but haven't had a notification for it. Hope I have done it correctly

Sonnet18 · 27/09/2016 08:32

I wondered about that too for the FB group...I also like that mumsnet is rather anonymous and Facebook is anything but!

jennymac31 · 27/09/2016 09:50

Lullaby23 - gave my dh the cold shoulder last night after he made a comment about the fact that I've had a 3 hour nap twice since we've been away on holiday! Told him that the pregnancy symptoms seem to be hitting me sooner and harder than last time and he responded "you would've slept loads regardless". Part of me feels bad, as he does look after dd a lot during the day but am still fuming because I just feel crap and tend to deal with any night issues with dd, as dh is usually fast asleep and appears to sleep through dad's screams and tantrums.

AnneLovesGilbert · 27/09/2016 11:15

Ah, you look lovely aaaaaargh! I have one of those from about 6pm till bedtime (not long after! ;) ) but it's gone by morning. Can't remember, is this your first?

I'm sooooo sleepy. All the time. And I seem to have epic forgetfulness. I'm a spelling nut, it's part of my job, and I'm forgetting the simplest things. Those of you who've done this before, does it last the whole time? I feel lovely and mellow, if a bit stupid, mainly just sort of peaceful and floaty.

Lullaby23 and jennymac31, not to be all special snowflake about it, but I'd consider telling your partners you're growing the human being both of you wanted and unless they're wrapping you in a blanket, looking after your DC or bringing you food they can do one! We're living in a building site, have my step kids over a lot and the place is a tip. I'm doing everything I can which doesn't involve lifting massive boxes but also napping a lot, and that's just how it is....

DH has been lovely, and would be getting short shrift if he wasn't. It's no one's fault men can't do pregnancy, but while it's us who carry the burden of baby making, and we're expected to just shrug off symptoms which would normally have most of us off work, the bloody least they can do is be supportive. And bring the food.

Rabbitykins55 · 27/09/2016 11:44

I'm really tired and miserable today. Everyone is pissing me off. Please tell me this shitty tiredness ends at 12 weeks!

I'm also showing a bit of a bump which I'm having to hide at work. I'm only 8 weeks and this is my first so I thought I'd go a bit further than this before showing. I did think it was podge at first but it's hard when I (gently) poke it.
