May 2017 - anybody out there?

Hi

I just found out at the weekend that I'm pregnant, this will be no. 2. Had no idea how far gone I was as I had just had AF 7th Aug but after a very early scan this morning it looks like I've conceived since then...very surprised as HPT is seriously strong and I got 5 +ve OPK's last week which by the scan I would have only just conceived at that point.

Very much a waiting game at the moment and back in 2 weeks for another scan. If I am indeed only 3 weeks then I have pretty much the same due date as I had for my DD Grin only 1 year apart. Let the crazy times commence!

Anyone else this early in pregnancy and due in May 2017?

Oh and CB Digi this morning said 2-3 weeks. Smile

grainmum · 01/09/2016 12:01

hanflan really sorry, must have cross posted I think!

Yes to being really spotty!

Rabbitykins55 · 01/09/2016 12:52

Thanks teainbed. Smile

I've been putting it off because that makes it feel a bit real! I'll do it this week though. I'm still having massive "how am I going to do this" feelings! That's normal isn't it?! Confused

TheOracleAtSelfie · 01/09/2016 13:02

rabbity totally normal. Is this your first?

Rabbitykins55 · 01/09/2016 13:36

Yes it's my first. It was the first time of trying too so I know I should feel really lucky because I know how hard can be but I'm just in shock still. I'm fluctuating between holy cow what am I going to do and sheer panic incase it doesn't stick around. I'm just all a bit over the place. Confused

ginandcake · 01/09/2016 13:46

In my area you have to be referred by the GP, which is really annoying, especially because I cannot get a GP appointment until the 22nd when I'll be 8 weeks!

Sipperskipper · 01/09/2016 14:36

Rabbitykins I feel exactly the same. We were talking about trying (working out ovulation dates etc) in the next couple of months and then it just happened. I assumed it would take months of trying. I am excited but scared as just have no no no idea what to expect! And I worry that I am no good with children - I never know what to say to them!

I'm just hoping that its a case of learn as you go along....

Northernexile · 01/09/2016 15:13

I had never even changed a nappy before I had my DD, didn't even have siblings. I survived! You'll know what to say to your own, trust me. Usually it's mainly 'no', 'be careful' and 'don't do that'! Grin
We had a moment when we got home from hospital, put they car seat down, and said 'what do we do now?!', but it just all falls into place after a day or two.

TheMildManneredMilitant · 01/09/2016 15:30

Welcome Rabbity - panicking totally normal and it all feels a bit extra weird when it's your first.
tea I am not only googling maternity clothes but also in-between clothes. Have got a 3-day formal work thing in 3 weeks time and looking smart and not-at-all-pregnant will be a challenge with current work clothes if previous pregnancies anything to go by. Also usually drink a lot at these things. Tempted to either tell my closest colleagues or just brazen it out and dare anyone to say anything Grin

Rabbitykins55 · 01/09/2016 15:43

Thank you! I'm feeling a bit better now I know it's normal! Me and my husband baby sat a few months ago and it was horrendous. I told him we were never having children. I guess that didn't work out! Wink
I'm hoping that it sticks around because when we were talking about it it was exciting, now it's a reality it's way more scary than exciting!

I'm also going for work drinks tomorrow, I've said I'm too tired to drink after a hectic week!

Sipperskipper · 01/09/2016 16:04

Ahh thank you Northern

Rabbity We had the same thing - babysat for our lovely nephews (3 & 2 y/o) a month ago which was pure chaos! I felt lost! Husband says its probably much different with your own, as I wasn't sure what they were / weren't allowed to do, so didn't feel confident to tell them off for anything. Also, as it was their first time sleeping over our house, I didn't want them to be upset missing their mum & dad, so I ended up spending the whole day as some sort of awkward children's entertainer in the hope they wouldn't start crying and want to go home!

Hope it is a bit of a different experience with my own one....??

Hello, can I please join?

Kind of shocked like you ladies above- positive test after one month of trying.

First baby and estimated due date is 11 May.

Scared, nervous, terrified, but excited about decorating the spare room, pretty maternity dresses and oh yeah- the baby of course.

I have zero knowledge of babies.. Blush

TheOracleAtSelfie · 01/09/2016 17:07

First timers - it's so different having your own to babysitting. Babysitting is generally a massive PITA because you just don't know the child's likes, dislikes, funny ways etc.

Having your own is just the best thing in the world ever, it's the most joyful thing you could ever imagine - and then some! I'm currently watching my 16 month old point out white butterflies ("yite bu-ta-dye!") in the garden whilst pottering around and I could not love her more. I promise you it's brilliant.

Sipperskipper · 01/09/2016 17:24

Oracle your post just made me cry! What a lovely description of motherhood

And that is exactly how I felt about babysitting!

Ghostonthedancefloor · 01/09/2016 21:21

Evening all. But quiet on here today no?

Does anyone else not really feel very pregnant at all? Even though I had horrendous nausea last time, i'm kind of willing for something to arrive for a bit of reassurance that somethings actually in there!

Sipperskipper · 01/09/2016 21:37

My boobs feel a bit tender, but not sure if they always feel like this and i'm just imagining it. Also have been feeling everso slightly sick at about 3pm, but not sure if that's just because I'm stuffed from a big lunch!

I think these symptoms might just be me trying to feel pregnant...

Peasy1 · 01/09/2016 22:02

Hopping on board too please! Expecting DC2 on 6th May. Hideously bloated tonight and I'd forgot the joys of early pregnancy! Congratulations to the rest of you

ginandcake · 01/09/2016 22:03

I definitely feel pregnant - sore breasts, nausea and so so tired. Tiredness is the worst. Took a digital today for no particular reason in the middle of the afternoon, so not a FMU and it quickly came up as 3+. Was expecting it to say 2-3 so now convinced myself that I either have my dates wrong or im having twins! Confused

TheOracleAtSelfie · 01/09/2016 22:06

Also hideously bloated, finding it hard to keep stomach even vaguely pulled in so face a v v attractive looking muffin top. Definitely not because of all the chocolate I inhaled after supper

TheOracleAtSelfie · 01/09/2016 22:06

*have

Ghostonthedancefloor · 01/09/2016 22:27

Ooo now you say that oracle, my trousers were feeling tighter in work yesterday. But I put that down to post-weightloss binging Blush I lost nearly 3 stone previous to this pregnancy.

skipper I am constantly trying to feel something.. I also have a feeling I'm going to eat my words and wish I was searching for the symptoms again soon Grin

gin I wouldn't worry. There are so many factors that affect hcg at any particular time aren't there. I have my last digi to take too. Maybe I'll do it Saturday!

Northernexile · 01/09/2016 22:27

Hello peasy, congratulations!
I've still no symptoms other than bloat. Never had morning sickness so I'm hoping it doesn't descend on me this time, but some kind of symptom would be a bit reassuring. I hate this long wait to 12 weeks. I have my gp appointment on Tuesday for referral to midwife.

TheOracleAtSelfie · 01/09/2016 22:46

gin I'm also feeling mildly stressed by how dark my line was given I lady tested at 12dpo. Still you know that if it was really faint I'd be stressing too! Confused

KungFuCactus · 01/09/2016 23:39

Hi all,

Can I hop on board? Just got BFP this afternoon. 1-2 weeks after 2 cycles ttc. Estimated arrival middle of May.

DC1 so rather nervous.
