May 2017 - anybody out there?

Hi

I just found out at the weekend that I'm pregnant, this will be no. 2. Had no idea how far gone I was as I had just had AF 7th Aug but after a very early scan this morning it looks like I've conceived since then...very surprised as HPT is seriously strong and I got 5 +ve OPK's last week which by the scan I would have only just conceived at that point.

Very much a waiting game at the moment and back in 2 weeks for another scan. If I am indeed only 3 weeks then I have pretty much the same due date as I had for my DD Grin only 1 year apart. Let the crazy times commence!

Anyone else this early in pregnancy and due in May 2017?

May is a lovely time of year to be born - that's when the majority of animals give birth too! I have a camera bird box and May is a very busy time for them, they then fledge late May - it's lovely to see but those birds work exceptionally hard.

The exemption card is fine to use as long as it's in date. Yes a new one should be applied for but you are not defrauding the NHS as you are eligible for one and may as well use the one you have until the new one arrives.

aaaaaargh · 24/09/2016 15:33

Thanks for the welcome Smile

Just reading that people are waiting on letters for scans etc, it's funny how different it is everywhere, I didn't need to go to GP when I found out I phone MW directly and they gave me booking in app and 1st scan app there and then over the phone x

beachsands · 24/09/2016 16:28

Welcome aaaaargh. So my symptoms of being freezing (which DH can't understand at all!) as well as very sore nips (tmi Blush) have only been in the evening. I've just rooted out the hot water bottle for Strictly tonight!!!! Nausea kicking in and the thought of dinner is not helping the nausea. As long as it remains as nausea and not vomiting. How is everyone feeling?

ImYourWomanJonSnow · 24/09/2016 16:33

I have cramps constantly, they are mild but uncomfortable. I keep telling myself that it doesn't mean anything and it's things stretching there but can't stop googling.

On another note, did anyone change their beauty routine? I've already ditched BHA lotion and retinol serum and am researching what to replace them with. Deciding that this time round I'm going to do everything by the book

EsmesBees · 24/09/2016 16:48

No changes to the beauty regime here. I don't even know what those two things are! How do we know if we are using unsuitable products?

I am feeling incredibly tired and nauseous. I reckon it's way worse than last time but my husband reckoned I moaned just as much back then.

jennymac31 · 24/09/2016 17:03

Afternoon all

Beachsands - Didn't have any symptoms for first week after I got bfp but since then I've had nausea and cramping every other day. Have also felt the need to go to the toilet a lot more, which my dh doesn't understand as he's convinced I shouldn't be doing this until much later in my pregnancy (even though I didn't have the urge to go to toilet lots when pregnant with dd).
I've got 4 weeks before my booking appointment and I honestly don't know how I'm gonna manage as time seems to be dragging deliberately but I remember being really impatient when pregnant 1st time round so am expecting the same this time.

PupPupBoogie · 24/09/2016 19:54

sorry for not keeping up with this thread! Hello to all the new people since I last posted. Has anyone made a facbook group yet?

We had a scan yesterday, 8+2 and all looked well :)

May 2017 - anybody out there?
LillyBugg · 24/09/2016 20:28

How lovely to see a scan :) I basically feel hungover. But I go from feeling awful to feeling fine within minutes. I'm usually hungry in the evening but dinner is cooking and I don't much fancy it tonight. However if McDonalds was on offer that would be a whole different story. I was hooked on fast food last time as well.

Northernexile · 24/09/2016 21:06

I became obsessed with Chinese food today. I live in the middle of nowhere and drove 15 miles there and back to get it. I don't remember being this bad last time!

I also feel hungover most of the time. Maybe that's why I needed bad food!

Lovely pic PupPup!

talulahbelle · 24/09/2016 21:27

Lovely pic PupPup No Facebook group yet I think. Set one up?

I'm in bed all snuggly. Was feeling all sicky and horrible and DH made me marmite on toast earlier. Amazing stuff. I don't even like marmite normally.

shimmysparkles · 24/09/2016 22:10

Still experiencing nausea on and off here. Also freezing a lot of the time beachsands. Am recovering from pneumonia at moment so feeling v exhausted. Not sure how will manage without my daytime napWhen have to go back to work. Still waiting on booking appt and scan. Currently 8 weeks and it is going so slowly!

4sacharm · 24/09/2016 22:28

Cute scan pup hello baby!

I am so tired, children not long over to sleep and I might just go to bed. Dh wants to watch a film but I am so tired. I feel bad because I have hardly spent any time with him today but I have to be a children's party tomorrow at ten so. Cannot believe am only 7 weeks tomorrow but also cannot believe in just over two weeks I could have a scan like yours pup eek. When are people telling folk? With my other three I waited until after my scan to tell parents and in law's but am tempted to tell my mum as am exhausted and she might help out more. I actually have a bump, it is crazy, apparently something to do with three previous pregnancies and muscle memory, anyone else? X

Streaky17 · 24/09/2016 22:46

I had a inadvertant scan - it was to look for an ovarian cyst. Not seen.
But she did see at least one heartbeat. I wasn't expecting anything to be visible as I'm only 5,5.
I'm almost discounting her suspected twin theory as I've not got ott symptoms and no nausea yet.

SunnyInMay · 24/09/2016 22:52

Lovely scan pic pup Smile

Still have awful nausea here too. I have found that eating little and often helps very slightly.

Private scan booked for 12th October when I will be around 9 weeks. I want to wait until we have a scan pic before telling my parents but it still seems so far off and I'm feeling so awful they may guess anyway.

SunnyInMay · 24/09/2016 22:54

Twins you say streaky? Shock How would you feel about that?

fempsych · 24/09/2016 22:56

Hi all, I'm on a work weekend away with loads of kids (residential) and because nobody knows I am being worked as hard as everybody and so knackered! Literally fell asleep at tea earlier...roll on Sunday

talulahbelle · 25/09/2016 07:02

Broken night here - neighbours car alarm went off and DD was restless.
Everytime I get woken I then have to wee and take ages to get back to sleep.
Also started feeling the sickness/nausea overnight. DH has just bought me an ice lolly (miracle cure with DD) and I'm now thinking about getting up.

Streaky17 · 25/09/2016 07:26

I would love the efficiency in that! It does seem unlikely tho. She is recommending another scan so that I find out before my 12week scan (which if I'm having my booking apt at 9,4 probably will be on the later end of the window).

Is anyone else having trouble sleeping (despite being really tired)? I fall asleep easily but wake up to wee and can't get back to sleep.

Streaky17 · 25/09/2016 07:30

Re sleeping: talulah I didn't refresh my page before writing. Oops. I feel your pain its so annoying.

Sipperskipper · 25/09/2016 07:39

I told my team at work yesterday (I'm 8+2). Was not planning on it, but we are a small team of 6, and have been feeling horrendous- they were all guessing something was up. I feel so much better for telling them as was getting hard to pretend I was fine all the time! Plus, the way I see it, if something happens & this doesn't work out, they will be there for support. I've got an early ish scan in 3 weeks, which is what I was waiting for, but I just couldn't hold out any longer!

Sunshinie · 25/09/2016 07:46

I'm the same with sleeping. Was so tired last night but couldn't get comfortable on the sofa. Now I'm wide awake at 7.30 while DH is snoring away- it really does feel like being hung over.
Fempsych- that sounds really hard work. I teach infants so definitely understand and think it's going to be an exhausting few months coming up!
Lovely to see a scan picture! I went on my GPs online booking page the othe day but the next appointment I can make isn't until 10th October and I will still have to rush to get there after work

Sonnet18 · 25/09/2016 07:58

My dd stil gets up around 5am so I (horribly) woke at 4.15am and couldn't get back to sleep so I've been up since then. I too feel quite hungover! It's really hard this time round as I could lie on the couch watching tv last time but can't do that with an active 7 month old. Changing a poo nappy nearing tipped me over the edge this morning Sad

jennymac31 · 25/09/2016 09:19

Am also having trouble falling asleep and when I wake my whole body aches.

The theme of me being sick every other day seems to be continuing with the addition of swollen ankles! Didn't have this with dd. Anyone else experiencing several body changes in early stages of pregnancy (am 6+1)?

CharlieWeasley · 25/09/2016 09:28

Hi - I'm new to all this but just after a bit of reassurance. Currently between 6 and 7 weeks with a due date of 19th may according to my app. I've had the usual symptoms so far - tiredness (was exhausted for a couple of weeks but this has either eased off a bit or I'm more used to it now), peeing lots and achy boobs. Last few days have started with a bit of nausea but nothing to bad. Yesterday I had a bit of spotting and now I'm panicking. No pain or anything and only a small amount - please reassure me this is normal!

mrspage1985 · 25/09/2016 09:40

Morning, I'm due (according to app) on the 27th May,so currently 5+1 weeks
Had a miscarriage earlier on this year so nervous at the moment to get on a few weeks - i have a scan booked privately for 8 weeks and then will have the Norma nhs 12 week scan
Too impatient to wait till 12 weeks!

Congratulations to all the other expectant mommies on here! X
