May 2017 - anybody out there?

Hi

I just found out at the weekend that I'm pregnant, this will be no. 2. Had no idea how far gone I was as I had just had AF 7th Aug but after a very early scan this morning it looks like I've conceived since then...very surprised as HPT is seriously strong and I got 5 +ve OPK's last week which by the scan I would have only just conceived at that point.

Very much a waiting game at the moment and back in 2 weeks for another scan. If I am indeed only 3 weeks then I have pretty much the same due date as I had for my DD Grin only 1 year apart. Let the crazy times commence!

Anyone else this early in pregnancy and due in May 2017?

I am not coping at all. I feel like I am going to be sick all the time. Tomorrow I am on my own with my toddler but I'm so exhausted and so sick. It doesn't help that he wakes me up about 5x a night for milk!

lullaby23 · 25/09/2016 10:17

Feeling hungover is the best description for early pregnancy I think! Last time I felt like that from 6-16 weeks, didn't vomit much just felt crap. This time the nausea hasn't hit yet but I am sleeping 8-9 hours a night DS permitting!

charlie how scary, handhold for you. I believe that spotting without cramping can be perfectly normal. Can you contact your local EPU for help?

CharlieWeasley · 25/09/2016 11:09

Thanks lullaby. Seems to have stopped for now. I'm thinking as long as I don't get any cramping or more blood today I'll leave it and call the midwife team tomorrow. Just need to keep myself occupied today!

aaaaaargh · 25/09/2016 11:15

Aww great scan pic pup :)

I've been having cramping most days but tbh I'm pretty much symptom free other than the cramping and at night I've became the lightest sleeper ever which happened in both previous pregnancies! I'm beginning to worry as I didn't feel this good during either of my other pregnancies, I'm actually wishing G for more symptoms

MrsGsnow18 · 25/09/2016 11:26

Hi everyone
Can I join in? I'm 5weeks +1 today. According to NHS due date calculator due on 27th May ( same as Mrspage1975!)
This is my first and I haven't really a clue what to do next!
I haven't been to GP yet, will be phoning for an appointment some this week. Appointment will more than likely be the following week though.

beachsands · 25/09/2016 11:43

Definitely feels like a hangiver. Woke at 3 and felt like I would be sick. fell back asleep til 9.50! DH on kids duty this morning. I'm sleeping about 10 hours which is very unlike me! I heaved for the first time this morn as I picked up a piece of bacon. Morning time nausea seems to be starting Sad

BeanSpr0ut · 25/09/2016 12:08

I can't keep up with this group.
Congrats to the new BFP's!

Badgerbird · 25/09/2016 12:37

Hey everyone! Yes I'm finding it a little tricky to keep up too! And yes it feels like being hungover without the fun part Envy. My symptoms haven't been so bad last few days but am wondering if it's a combination of being on hols (less stresss & not so tired from work) and my body getting used to that wave of hormones before the next hit. Having said that feeling a bit sick and tired at the mo....

charlie I've heard spotting is very normal too but try & take it a bit easy today if you can then if it continues maybe contact EPU.

Can't remember who asked about Beauty products but I find Lush & Neals Yard are great and failing that coconut oil for virtually everything!

Gorgeous scan pic pup how exciting! Can't wait to get mine, guessing in about a weeks time, will see what dr says.... congrats and welcome new mamas!

FoxMulder · 25/09/2016 14:05

I've stopped using my Lush moisturiser because it has St John's Wort in it.

Sonnet18 · 25/09/2016 14:34

What is wrong with St. John's wort? I pretty much carried on as before with all beauty treatments (some people I know don't even get their hair dyed when pregnant Confused) last time and I think I'll be doing the same this time round too!

Sipperskipper · 25/09/2016 14:51

Well I've just realised you're not supposed to eat rare meat. I knew about pate, soft cheeses etc, but last weekend had the rarest beef wellington possible. (It was amazing!) - but now panicking, as have read this carries a high risk for toxoplasmosis.

Have a nice bit of beef in the oven right now for a roast - will leave it in a bit longer I think!

4sacharm · 25/09/2016 15:08

Charlie I know lots of ladies that had bleeding in early pregnancy and had healthy babies. Just keep an eye on it and get checked out if it continues.

Am exhausted today, been up Everingham since Tuesday with ds2 as he is not well, dh has slept in spare room and has got a full nights sleep, then he was complaining because he let me lie on yesterday but he had to get up because dd had a party at ten, men! 7 weeks today, how the time is dragging! Happy Sunday everyone x

Northernexile · 25/09/2016 15:49

Sipperskipper I think rare beef is OK, as long as the outside is sealed. Just mince you have to watch obviously. My gp actually told me that the other week when I was in with her.

RedBlu · 25/09/2016 16:12

Well, I officially have began feeling like crap.

Tired, sense of smell is heightened and certain things make me feel sick, feel nauseous pretty much all day and night (just got some sea bands!) and am peeing pretty much every hour. Oh and cramping/tugging and bloating Envy

Can someone enlighten me on what happens at first midwife appointment? When I go I will be around 7/8 weeks (according to apps but not entirely sure). I assume no scan will be given, I am just very keen to find out everything is ok!

Also, maybe TMI but I read the cervix was meant to rise up in pregnancy, mine is really low?

Sipperskipper · 25/09/2016 16:19

Thanks northern, and hope those of you feeling rubbish start to feel better soon.

I just feel like I have a bit of a hangover all the time, and then super tired in the evenings. And keep craving pickled onion monster munch! I haven't eaten crisps in probably years (don't usually like them - sweet tooth!)

Gosh this thread is really moving quickly now - I feel like I need to rejoin!

Hello everyone! 8+1 today and today has been the worst yet for the nausea and heaving. Being a passenger in the car is a nightmare. Think I may try the sea bands to see if they work.

sipper don't worry! The risk is probably so low, the only thing I would worry about is chicken!

Lovely scan pic pup

Hope everybody else is feeling ok!

mrspage1985 · 25/09/2016 17:01

High five MrsSnow for the 27th April!!!

mrspage1985 · 25/09/2016 17:02

I've got some nausea and a real hankering for carrot sticks - other than that (oh and being tired as hell) I'm pretty ok! Having to force myself to keep going to the gym as it's so appealing to just sit on th sofa x

AnneLovesGilbert · 25/09/2016 17:16

How lovely to see a scan picture! Welcome to all the new ladies, there are loads of us now!

Got my booking in appointment through, it's in a week at 7ish weeks. Also going to get flu jab in a week as seeing the nurse about something else.

I'm averaging a couple of hours of watering mouth, nausea and hot flushes a day but not thrown up. Weeing more too, especially at night.

My skin is great though! I'm crashing out shattered so early I've mostly abandoned my skincare regime and its still lovely, which is a bonus! Massive painful boobs, but apparently the pain lessens after the first trimester.

Epic evening bloating but when I wake up in the morning its gone. Also quite crampy but where and how much varies a lot.

I've told mum, sis and one friend who had a mc and then her baby a couple of years ago. Been really nice to have someone other than DH to chat to.

MissMooMoo · 25/09/2016 17:26

Hi everyone.
Also feeling really hungover (6+1) and nothing takes my fancy except for yogurt of all things! I think a bowl of greek yogurt with maple syrup is what I will have tonight Blush

Sunflower30 · 25/09/2016 17:59

Hi everyone, lovely scan pic! I'm hoping to have one around 8 weeks too.
I was awake at 2am throwing up last night, which is a first for me including my previous 2 pregnancies. Felt dreadful, but better today apart from the regular nausea and tiredness.
I still haven't told anyone even though my parents practically asked me outright yesterday! Don't even know how I didn't tell them. Feel a bit bad having been actively dishonest with them but I'm sure they will forgive me.
6 weeks today for me, it's really dragging!

Ghostonthedancefloor · 25/09/2016 20:32

anne my skin is also lovely (bonus!)

missmoomoo yoghurt here too! It's that and chips are the only things I can stomach..

sunflower any particular reason you didn't tell them? I'm still yet to tell mine and they too asked me outright when I wasn't drinking and that was over a month ago when I was 4 weeks! They were tipsy rat-arsed so should have just told them then! (It's DC3)

ginandcake · 25/09/2016 20:44

My skin is awful, and my nails. I was saying to my DH today that I felt hungover, it's awful isn't it? Can't remember it being this bad before.

Have my private scan booked for Wednesday, can't wait to fingers crossed see something!

mrspage1985 · 25/09/2016 20:49

How far gone will you be for your private scan?
Mine is booked for when I'm 8 weeks but tempted to try and bring it forward but no that's prob not a good idea!?
