May 2017 - anybody out there?

Hi

I just found out at the weekend that I'm pregnant, this will be no. 2. Had no idea how far gone I was as I had just had AF 7th Aug but after a very early scan this morning it looks like I've conceived since then...very surprised as HPT is seriously strong and I got 5 +ve OPK's last week which by the scan I would have only just conceived at that point.

Very much a waiting game at the moment and back in 2 weeks for another scan. If I am indeed only 3 weeks then I have pretty much the same due date as I had for my DD Grin only 1 year apart. Let the crazy times commence!

Anyone else this early in pregnancy and due in May 2017?

Hi Tea - yes you are right. My SIL has also just told me that. I called them and they advised that if the bleeding continues/gets heavier I should go into the early pregnancy unit where they will advise me and hopefully a scan. So just waiting now and checking every 30 mins for changes.

FoxMulder · 23/09/2016 16:00

I am feeling utterly wretched so I've not even been online to keep up with you guys! Cyclizine not working so have just been prescribed some other meds. Am bfing ds just to make things more complicated.

McBaby · 23/09/2016 16:22

Fox I feel your pain the cyclizine has helped me but makes me so tired a can't function and I have a 2 and 4 year old to look after so get to choose sickness or exhaustion!!

FoxMulder · 23/09/2016 16:32

Oh, it didn't occur to me that the Cyclizine could be partly responsible for me being so knackered. I was in bed before my toddler last night! They go hand in hand though do sickness and exhaustion. Sometimes I think I am feeling sick because I am so knackered.

CinnamonTwist · 23/09/2016 19:10

tea yes, I called my GP surgery, then their in house midwife called me back the first time, second time I called her directly as she'd told me to if it got any worse! I finally met her today at my booking in appointment Grin

talulahbelle · 23/09/2016 20:15

Does anyone else wish they had a fast forward button? It's so nerve wracking not knowing if everything is going to be OK.

Anyway, plans for the weekend? What are we all up to?

ginandcake · 23/09/2016 20:32

Oh I know Talulah, it's soooo slow! Have a weekend of swimming lessons and parties ahead so plenty of distraction. Also going out with a group of friends tomorrow night, and it's going to be really obvious why I'm not drinking!

4sacharm · 23/09/2016 21:22

So sorry not hope you recover quickly Flowers

Welcome to new folk, happy and healthy 9 months to you all

I too am finding this first trimester sooooooo long, cannot believe am only 7 weeks on Sunday, I feel like I should be at least half way through. I have birthday parties and swimming lessons this weekend as well. I was suppose to be testing tomorrow with a digital to check progression but forgot to buy one. I feel really unwell today, flu like, anyone else feel like this? Hoping it is not a bad sign! X

CinnamonTwist · 23/09/2016 21:43

Yes talulah definitely! I also just want to skip to the part where I've actually told people and it's not some massive secret! Time seems to have gone into slo-mo at the moment. I can't wait to get through this first trimester, get my scan and be able to get properly excited, feel a bit in limbo at the moment.

Badgerbird · 23/09/2016 22:07

Yes Talulah!! A fast forward button would be amazing!

My HCG results came through ok so far so just the wait till early scan now..... In meantime I'm just going to enjoy (IYKWIM) being pregnant as much as possible Smile I'm away at families this weekend which is a wonderful distraction. Hope everyone has something nice to keep them occupied over the weekend CakeBrew

Sunshinie · 23/09/2016 22:49

Hello! Can I join?
I did a test last night because my app said I should, though I was fully expecting it to be negative. I almost threw it away before I suddenly noticed a faint line. Did another this morning but it didn't really sink in until I got a digital one on the way home which says 1-2 weeks. Worked out my due date will be 26th May, which is my birthday! What are the chances?!
Trying not to get too excited as I know it's very early. I'm constantly having chewing gum as my mouth feels horrible and I feel like I must have bad breath. It's been like this all week but didn't really think I could be pregnant, it doesn't feel real. We got married in June and started trying while we were on our honeymoon, so it's a bit quicker than I expected really. I'm going to find it very difficult to keep quiet!

CinnamonTwist · 24/09/2016 07:25

Welcome Sunshine and congratulations Smile I've got a May birthday too (it's a lovely time of year for a birthday Wink) My DH is April, so we are going to have a busy few weeks every spring from next year! It's our first DC and all 3 of our birthdays will be in the space of under a month!

LillyBugg · 24/09/2016 07:31

I've just made scrambled eggs and beans for my toddler. I'm now hiding from both him and his breakfast. I just want to throw up!! Bleeurrrghhh.

talulahbelle · 24/09/2016 08:12

4sacharm I feel fluey and run down too. Loads of germs round this time of year though.

Lillybugg my DD is eating Cheerios. Non offensive thankfully.

I plan to spend this weekend relaxing as much as possible.

Sunshinie · 24/09/2016 08:27

Cinnamon - You're right about May, I think it's the best birthday month, usually nice weather too. We also had our wedding a week after, so looks like our little one will be joining us sometime around our first anniversary 😊
I haven't felt sick at all yet but have woken up with a sore throat this morning. I'm a teacher and the kids have been really snotty this week so looks like I've got a cold to look forward to! Going to a wedding fair with my best friend today and debating whether to tell her- she may work it out anyway as she knows we've been trying.

LillyBugg · 24/09/2016 08:32

I think it will be Cheerios tomorrow! Today is definitely the worst I've felt. I've just managed to make a tea for myself, hopefully that will help. I'm sure that psychologically I feel worse this time because I know I have DS so I can't really afford to laze around and do nothing. When I was pregnant with him I could just do why I liked to make myself feel better. Not sure if that makes any sense at all!

4sacharm · 24/09/2016 08:52

Welcome new folk.

I got a 3 + on the digital test so at least I know something is progressing. Just hoping my scan date comes soon, now there is nothing to do but wait! Happy Saturday everyone! X

MissMooMoo · 24/09/2016 09:04

Welcome sunshine

FoxMulder · 24/09/2016 09:06

I am planning on lying in bed and groaning this weekend. Uugh! Those Cyclizine pills taste like battery acid (I imagine). We are going to have to tell ILs today because I can't hide how ill I am and I need their help. I find telling people really embarrassing. It's like "hey! We've been having sex!"

MissMooMoo · 24/09/2016 09:06

I am really looking forward to a May baby too. My entire family is in the autumn (with some people doubling up and a 5 day streak in September!) I am in December and DH is January, with Christmas thrown in its always so busy and expensive!

FoxMulder · 24/09/2016 09:11

Oh, I had my booking appointment on Monday. I have to decide if I want my scan before my half term holiday with my family (which would be awesome) but without the nt screening or after half term with the nt screening. I didn't have it with ds but I was thinking of doing it this time.

MissMooMoo · 24/09/2016 09:16

I assumed NT screening was just standard during the scan,is it not?
I am seeing the doctor on Wednesday for a referral to the midwife.
I have a question about the NHS exemption card if anyone knows, I will ask the doctor anyways.
I have one from my previous pregnancy when I miscarried (baby was due in April,so card is brand new) can I still use this card? I have a dentist appointment on Friday and I'd rather not pay if I don't have to Grin

FoxMulder · 24/09/2016 09:19

I had been intending on trying for a September baby but this one obviously had other ideas! I'm concerned that it will come round to starting school age and I won't be able to let go! Ds is only 2.5 but I'm already living in fear of that day coming. Smile

FoxMulder · 24/09/2016 09:55

There is quite a narrow window when you can have the nt screening (12-13 weeks?) but if you are just having the dating scan there is a much broader space of time you can have it. 11+ weeks. You don't have to have the screening.

I guess you probably aren't supposed to use your old maternity exemption card but the doc will be able to give you a new form and you can either show that to the dentist or tell them that you have sent off for one. That worked for me with my pharmacist anyway.

Rabbitykins55 · 24/09/2016 09:58

Fox I found it weird too! I'm embarrassed to tell people! Crazy isn't it! I don't want people to know what we've been up too! Blush
