May 2017 - anybody out there?

Hi

I just found out at the weekend that I'm pregnant, this will be no. 2. Had no idea how far gone I was as I had just had AF 7th Aug but after a very early scan this morning it looks like I've conceived since then...very surprised as HPT is seriously strong and I got 5 +ve OPK's last week which by the scan I would have only just conceived at that point.

Very much a waiting game at the moment and back in 2 weeks for another scan. If I am indeed only 3 weeks then I have pretty much the same due date as I had for my DD Grin only 1 year apart. Let the crazy times commence!

Anyone else this early in pregnancy and due in May 2017?

Hey everyone! I haven't logged on for a while. 5+4 days here. Nausea has started to kick in but the worst has been the migraines. It was so bad Sunday night/Monday morning that I didn't sleep at all. I had to take the day off yesterday just to catch up on sleep. I did eventually log in at work for a few hours after visiting Gp surgery as wasn't sure of which pain killers were safe. Doctor gave me co-codamol. For the hay fever she recommended piriton as it has evidence to show that it is safer? to take in pregnancy.

Anne - In anticipation that it will just get worse with the nausea too, I told my boss earlier today; forewarned him that I might require flexible hrs as and when the migraines subsides. My job is a safety critical one where I have declare strong pain killer use.

The only way I can describe it, it feels like a constant hangover/walked into a wall and bashed my head feeling.

Apparently my midwife will call me closer to 10 wks and will visit me at home for the booking appointment. Anybody else have the same?

Adventuregame · 20/09/2016 15:34

I'm going to tell my boss the week before my booking in appointment.

Adventuregame · 20/09/2016 15:35

Symptoms seem tone reeling back dither read no need to lie awake worrying after all. Feel pretty crap actually - exhausted !

Adventuregame · 20/09/2016 15:37

Awful spell correct above on my phone - sorry. Meant to say symptoms are slowly creeping back !

Sonnet18 · 20/09/2016 15:40

I don't know what to do about my boss...I'm actually still on mat leave Blush and my booking appointment is my first day back!!! The midwife won't see me before 8 weeks (I turn 8 weeks on the Saturday and return to work on the Monday)
My boss emailed me yesterday so I've started to reply but keep deleting and re-writing the section where I ask for time off...on my first day back!!! What should I do?! Be honest and tell him what the appointment is or be vague and just say "an appointment"? Any thoughts are very much welcomed!

Damson9 · 20/09/2016 15:41

My boss works on a different floor to me and has no idea whether I'm here or not! I'll be fine taking time off for appointments - I've a really great team who know that we were having fertility issues (I've had a lot of appointments this year) and they will pull together if I'm ever not in.

I'm not planning on telling them until after my 12-week scan. I'm just so paranoid that things might not work out and I don't think I'd want everyone to know that.

They're not daft, though. I'm clearly not myself. I don't imagine they'll be surprised when I break the news to them.

Feeling particularly sorry for myself today. Tired and crampy, a bit queasy and sick of only drinking water; I seem to have gone off everything else. For a northern lass to not be able to drink tea, well, it's the end of the world...

Badgerbird · 20/09/2016 15:58

Eeek Newbie & Adventure I'm 39 next month and this is my first too!!

Hello everyone, I'd like to join in after sitting on the sidelines for a while now..... Pregnant again after 2 MMC in the last year so rather nervous. I'm only 4.4 so ages to go yet!!

My thoughts go out to all those who didn't have sticky beans and those that are struggling.... It's not how it looks in the magazines is it!Shock

Hello all, just joining in if that ok with all of you. Recognise a few names from the September bus Grin sinking in a bit now, 5 weeks tomorrow, fairly confident on this from OPK's.
Those of you having early scans's how much does it cost? I'm desperate for one but have only found at around £100 and I doubt I'll convince DH.
1st pregnancy I had awful sickness from 4 weeks till I delivered, so far I haven't had any symptoms except for some light nausea when hungry, which I tend to get anyway! Making me incredibly anxious that this is not going to end well.

Damson9 · 20/09/2016 16:19

Peas, the private scans round where we live look to be £80 apiece. I'm thinking about it as our chosen hospital sounds like it's a bit slow on the uptake...

I won't tell my employer until 12 weeks if I can hide it.
I am a nanny so its a very personal job and I am the only employee!

Booked an early scan for Friday. Still no news on my booking appointment or scan other than one letter saying I'll be getting a letter about it. Been struggling with actually accepting it which has made me feel like an awful person. Seemed to have turned a corner today and have actually started looking at things for the nursery etc. Until now I think I've been in denial. Apart from a wobble at the beginning thinking it wouldn't stick. Pregnancy isn't at all how its perceived on tv and films is it!

Sorry Feeling I had to put you in the right place.
DD been throwing tantrums on and off today and we left a playdate early as she kept pushing. It's like they know when you are feeling under the weather.

IAmSeriousAndDontCallMeShirley · 20/09/2016 17:21

Hi everyone. Hope you are having a good week. Just posting again as this has disappeared from my 'threads I'm on' section and I don't want to lose you lovely ladies.

Nothing up update here- just bloated and tired. I feel like progress is really slow this time. Roll on 12 weeks! X

iCoCo · 20/09/2016 17:38

Hi all, I joined earlier in the thread, then other than sore boobs, I didn't really feel pregnant and have had terrible anxiety about the worst happening so have been sticking my head in the sand and only reading up to month 2 in my pregnancy book.

Currently 7+2 and had the shortest booking appointment ever today, less than 15 mins with a really nice midwife. It all feels a bit more real today, and I've relaxed after talking to a midwife, I'm just deciding when to book a private scan.

Afternoon ladies.

Well I woke up at 5am this morning to get ready to fly out for our holiday and had the worst morning sickness to date! Ended up being sick on the plane but it has calmed down. Hoping I don't have the same experience coming back home.

Notyetthere · 20/09/2016 18:21

Jenny - hope your holiday goes well and better than it started!

On a more positive note in the cloud of all the nausea and headaches, I read about best places to buy good quality muslin! I won't look at clothes as I could end up with a small or big baby and I thing I will Someone recommended tkmaxx for good muslin so I popped in and picked up a 3 pack Aden and annals ones. Small purchase but it cheered me up. I have washed them and put them away in the built in nursery wardrobe. I know it's too early but I feel shit most of the time that I am indulging in the more exciting parts of having a baby. I am also looking at nursery furniture on eBay. I am particularly looking at a good upcycled project. I will repair it if faulty, fill any dents, sand them and paint them a poncey colour just for good measure!Grin last time I enjoyed waxing the old linen cupboard in our bedroom.

MissMooMoo · 20/09/2016 19:07

jenny hope you are able to enjoy your holiday.
notyet I was in tkmaxx yesterday looking for some muslins for my sister and they only seemed to have very blue ones or very pink ones! I was hoping to find eg white with stars or something. Exciting about buying something! I haven't bought anything yet, I have a feeling DH will be buying a little baby football kit, girl or boy!

PeachIcedT · 20/09/2016 19:44

I'm adding myself on where I think I'm due, although I am fully expecting that to shift one way or another.

I'm not really planning on telling my boss until 12 weeks as I don't want to miss out on potential promotions that could come up - but in the past whenever I've felt a bit sick or had a large appetite I would get the question! Not sure how easy it is to hide being sick at work.

Sending good thoughts to anyone struggling with discomfort/stress. I treated myself to an extra-high impact sports bra today after a rather excruciating run with minimal support!

Hi ladies

Can anyone help me with some advice? I am 14dpo today and my period is due today

We have been ttc for 10 months and on 11dpo I got an v v faint positive, 12 dpi faint positive but more visible. 13dpo got faint positive and a "pregnant 1-2" on a clearblue (cb was done in the evening last night)

This morning got a faint positive that wasn't any darker than the previous day, this evening I got a negative :( all tests are 25 miu Sensitive from today and yesterday.

This evenings test was taken with 1 hour old urine (I had peed 1 hour earlier) and I had drink a fair bit so was diluted.

I am really worried now that my hcg levels have fallen :( I have also started to get period cramps this evening but no bleeding. Could my hcg levels have fallen to nothing from this mornings faint positive?

Sonnet18 · 20/09/2016 20:35

Hormone levels double every 2-3 days so I wouldnt expect it to be hugely different a day later. Don't worry, a line is a line. I'm sure it's all ok

LillyBugg · 20/09/2016 20:38

For those of you looking at early scans there are often deals on groupon. I don't think I'll bother getting one, I'll just try and be patient.

I've booked my booking in appointment with the midwife for 3 weeks time when I'll be 8 weeks. Not sure what to tell my boss, think I'll see if he will just be happy with me saying I have an appointment rather than being specific. I know they are looking at restructuring and I'm a bit worried that my news will make him want to just make my whole team redundant as there's already one other about to go on Mat leave. If he doesn't know I'm hoping he might think more long term. I have a feeling he will want to know more about my 'appointment' though.

teainbed · 20/09/2016 20:47

newyork I would stop testing. I know it's easy for us to say but you'll drive yourself mad otherwise. The lines might never get dark. There is nothing to do apart from wait it out unfortunately! But pull up a pew and wait with us. Smile
