May 2017 - anybody out there?

Hi

I just found out at the weekend that I'm pregnant, this will be no. 2. Had no idea how far gone I was as I had just had AF 7th Aug but after a very early scan this morning it looks like I've conceived since then...very surprised as HPT is seriously strong and I got 5 +ve OPK's last week which by the scan I would have only just conceived at that point.

Very much a waiting game at the moment and back in 2 weeks for another scan. If I am indeed only 3 weeks then I have pretty much the same due date as I had for my DD Grin only 1 year apart. Let the crazy times commence!

Anyone else this early in pregnancy and due in May 2017?

Felt sick with DD1, did not feel sick at all second time round so convinced myself it was a boy but then DD2 arrived! Feel much more sick this time so who knows, twins?!!

user1474185230 · 19/09/2016 20:54

Sk28 - so nice you have had a scan and everything is good!

Re sex, I'm more pushing towards a girl for me, this is only based on so much nausea which I never had with my DS! But every pregnancy is so different so who knows!! I have no preference at all so I'm literally happy whatever! How about anyone else? Xx

ginandcake · 19/09/2016 20:56

I'm 7+3 and have a due date of the 4th May so no those dates don't quite add up to me either SK28

PeachIcedT · 19/09/2016 21:07

I find it so difficult to properly work out my due date and so am going with a range until I'm told by the GP in a couple of weeks (I hope). I'm edging towards more like 21st May and think I'm 5-6 weeks. No nausea yet which is nice, but a bit anxious about it kicking in.

SK28 · 19/09/2016 21:07

Thanks gin. I'm trying to switch doctors as I don't like the one I've seen so far (have actually left both appointments in tears!) so will see if the new one gives me the same EDD or different. It doesn't matter hugely, in a way it's nice not to have a set EDD to fixate on, but as I'm abroad we do fly back to the UK quite often so number of weeks might matter more nearer the end when airlines might want medical notes!

Sonnet18 · 19/09/2016 21:09

I'm 6+1 and have an edd of 13th May...does that help?

SK28 · 19/09/2016 21:12

Yes sonnet, thanks. She isn't giving me specific days but said on Friday 'end of 6 week, start of 7' (but then last time on a Monday she said 'end of 4 week, start of 5' so I'm unclear...), so I'm probably a week or so ahead of you, so my EDD is probably more like 6th May, somewhere between gin and you. Thank you!

SK28 · 19/09/2016 21:13

Although now I hope s/he is a bit late if EDD is more like early May - MiL birthday is 4th May and I'm not her biggest fan, not sure I could bear how she'd be if they shared a birthday!

4sacharm · 19/09/2016 23:22

feeling hope the bleeding and cramping stop, I know lots of ladies that had similar and had healthy babies but it would worry me as well!

Welcome all the new folk and congratulations!

I am 6 weeks and one day and my due date is 13 th of may. That is going by my lmp, I know I ovulated late so I think my actual date is 18 th of may, making me 6 weeks this Friday but we shall see

newbieho · 20/09/2016 05:08

Hello everyone, can I join? I'm due on 11 May with my first - still feels a bit unreal. I'm an older mum (39).

Adventuregame · 20/09/2016 06:28

Hi Newbieho I'm 39 and it'll be my first too.
Sore boobs and sickness seem to have disappeared today and obviously because of last year's mmc I'm totally expecting the worst. I'm not enjoying this at all !!!

ArtOfKnit · 20/09/2016 06:47

Morning all!

feeling hope that everything is alright now. belle we have the same due date - 25th May. Had my Drs appointment yesterday and it was great actually saying out loud to someone "I'm pregnant" - not sure how I'm going to keep the news to myself for the next 7 or 8 weeks. I'm already finding it difficult making excuses not to drink, as we've had a few family occasions and a girls night out since I found out, and they all know it's almost unheard of for me to turn down a glass of wine!

I guess it's too early to have many symptoms, but I seem to have some mild cramping at night and I wake up absolutely starving.

FeelingBlessed77 · 20/09/2016 07:45

Morning. Still bleeding here, but I am also feeling sick and have a bad headache, so I'm pretty sure everything is still OK. Thanks for the reassurance ladies it means a lot, especially when you are away from home and df. Driving home today, not looking forward to the journey, have a 16 month old and a dog to take home on my own.

Sonnet18 · 20/09/2016 08:31

Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit rubbish blessed. Has the bleeding eased up a bit?
sk28 what was the date of your last period and how long is your cycle? My last period started on 4th August and I have a 30 (ish) day cycle which gives me 13th may as my edd...however, I know I ovulated late so I think my cycle would've been a little longer so I'm thinking my due date is maybe 17th may or so. Got a scan a week on Sunday so all will be revealed then!

talulahbelle · 20/09/2016 10:03

5+6 here with a due date of the 17th. I've been feeling decidedly yuck this morning, tired, weak, v slightly sick. DD has been grizzly, I think she woke up to early. Bad mummy here has her sat in her pram eating a sandwich and watching Peppa on Netflix while I have a cup of tea.

Marzipanmodelling · 20/09/2016 10:10

Urgh, the sickness has started... First thing this morning Sad being at SAHM with two under 4 I can't just go back to bed which I really want to do! My DH works away a fair bit too and I now dread having to make meals as everything makes me nauseous. I'd forgotten how tough this but is especially when you need the most support and can't tell anyone! Not even 7 weeks yet and seem to recall from other two pregnancies that things don't clear up until 14/15 weeks. Carry on smiling!

ImogenTubbs · 20/09/2016 11:27

Ugh, Marzipan - sounds tough. Hope it eases up!

I have successfully registered with the local health centre (woohoo!) and have my first appt on Thursday. No idea how long it will last but will be quite tough as I'm very much still learning the language and few people round here speak English. Thank god for Google translate!

hanflan · 20/09/2016 11:57

Morning all. Sorry I've been away, was on holiday! Good to see so many new faces.

I'm 8+2 today and booking in appt is on Monday. Looking forward to it as I really want to discuss the birth of my DD and whether or not a vbac is likely to be sucessful!

SK28 · 20/09/2016 12:35

sonnet, my LMP is useless. I was on the pill from when DD was a few months old, came off it in January, had a period in May then another one in July. I know more or less the week of conception and adding 2 weeks onto that I think 7 weeks is about right, it was the EDD that seemed wrong. Maybe the doctor just read her chart wrong...

Imogen, I am abroad too. It's really hard figuring out how they do maternity care in a different country with a language barrier, isn't it?!

CinnamonTwist · 20/09/2016 13:11

blessed good luck with your journey, I hope it goes as smoothly as possible.

I am feeling super crap today! Woke up with ridiculously sore boobs, they've reached a whole new level of painful, and feeling so so sick/ hungover. Felt great yesterday and luckily decided it was a good idea to cook tonight's dinner, so at least I can flake out as soon as I get home. But it's going to be a long day at work today! On the plus side I have now definitely passed my main milestone- and am further than I got last time (with mc) also my booking in appt is on Friday, so I have that to look forward to. I think I am about 8wks now. Hope everyone else is doing ok today?

EnterWittyUsernameHere · 20/09/2016 13:38

Hello everyone! I haven't checked in for a few days as I'm feeling rubbish. The nausea is awful - almost all foods are turning my stomach. I have even more respect for those who have gone through this before!

Having a private early scan on Friday and then planning to tell all the parents on Saturday. It will be great to have a support network beyond my DH!

Hope everyone else is holding up well Smile

Damson9 · 20/09/2016 13:56

Afternoon all. I'm toying with the idea of getting a private early scan. I'm 7+4 now and still haven't received details of my booking appointment. Sounds like our chosen hospital does scans on the later side of 12 weeks :(. On the one hand, I feel like I should just suck it up and wait, but on the other hand, I walk past a private imaging place on my way to the station every morning, so I can't help but wonder... What do you think?

AnneLovesGilbert · 20/09/2016 14:00

Go for it Damson9 if you think you'd find it reassuring! I've self referred but not had anything back about appointments yet.

Flowers to everyone struggling with bad nausea.

I'm exhausted. There's a sick room round the corner from my desk with a bed and blanket and it's calling me loudly to go and have a nap. I'll hold on till home time and crash out then!

When's everyone who WOH telling their bosses so they can go to appointments?

talulahbelle · 20/09/2016 14:30

I've already told my boss. If this is like my pregnancy with DD I'm going to need time off due to sickness.

hanflan · 20/09/2016 15:16

I'm just going to tell my boss after I've had the 12wk scan.

Last time round I had to tell him straight away as I was working with category 3 pathogens so had to be pulled from the rota for that!
