May 2017 - anybody out there?

Hi

I just found out at the weekend that I'm pregnant, this will be no. 2. Had no idea how far gone I was as I had just had AF 7th Aug but after a very early scan this morning it looks like I've conceived since then...very surprised as HPT is seriously strong and I got 5 +ve OPK's last week which by the scan I would have only just conceived at that point.

Very much a waiting game at the moment and back in 2 weeks for another scan. If I am indeed only 3 weeks then I have pretty much the same due date as I had for my DD Grin only 1 year apart. Let the crazy times commence!

Anyone else this early in pregnancy and due in May 2017?

I've been bleeding for 24 hours now. Have phoned 111, as I'm away at the moment. They have just said to rest, easier said than done with a 16 month old who weighs a ton. I'm still feeling quite sick, so I'm sure everything is still ok.

Hi Sunnyinmay,

Thanks for the welcome! Yes I told my parents so far and best friend. Will tell other family when I have an early scan booked one in this morning at 8 weeks on 16th of October. Can't wait already! Xx

LaBelleClara · 19/09/2016 11:57

Hi ladies, cautiously joining you please!

EDD 25 May with first child, though second pregnancy, as miscarried first in June. Been quicker than expected tbh, but trying not to freak out and just take each day as it comes...

AnneLovesGilbert · 19/09/2016 12:01

Sorry to hear that FeelingBlessed77, have you had cramps or just bleeding? It seems like one without the other is considered okay but both together is slightly more cause for concern. Not easy, but rest when you can. Can you arrange a scan with EPU when you're back?

AnneLovesGilbert · 19/09/2016 12:03

Welcome and congrats newbies! Very exciting.

I really should have thought of that before sending in my self referral form and just putting a different date... But I'd spoken to a GP about my mc last cycle so that's on the system and is the date I'm using instead of LMP.

But at least I'll know I'm slightly ahead of where they think I am.

Hope everyone who feels ropey today feels better soon. Though I agree that symptoms and the feeling of general slight grimness is reassuring!

MissMooMoo · 19/09/2016 12:04

feeling is it just bleeding or bleeding and cramps?
Hopefully everything is just fine! I've read 1in5 women bleed in early pregnancy and its normal, but its always a concern!

ImogenTubbs · 19/09/2016 12:05

FeelingBlessed - hope you're ok. FWIW I had quite a lot of spotting and light bleeding in the early days with DD1 and all turned out fine. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Jingles - yes re. moodswings! Just had completely irrational strop at DH and now feeling very silly.

GFrog · 19/09/2016 12:06

Me too... but at the very end of May 2017. Only just got my BFP and I'll be 46 when the flump is born :)

FeelingBlessed77 · 19/09/2016 12:24

Thanks ladies that has reassured me. I have had some cramping as well, but nothing major.

PeachIcedT · 19/09/2016 13:22

Also keeping fingers crossed for you FeelingBlessed.

I got round to booking an appointment today, has to be with the doctor first who I imagine will only check my dates but it is scheduled for what I think is 7 weeks.

Been coldly too - but husband was before me so I presumed I'd just caught from him. Bit anxious about how bad the nausea might be.

Streaky17 · 19/09/2016 13:27

Hi, just catching up after the weekend. Welcome new people!

I got the flu jab this morning as I was in with the nurse anyway so that's one less thing to sort out. Smile

talulahbelle · 19/09/2016 13:49

5+5 here. Still no real symptoms. I feel vaguely off before breakfast/first eating but after that seem fine. Still peeling loads, particularly overnight.
Boobs sore too.

I've had snotty/sniffly nose but I get hayfever from the fungal spores this time of year. Miserable not daring to take anything for it.

1 week 2 days until my early scan. It's stressful waiting, I still can't convince myself I'm pregnant.

trinityrabbit · 19/09/2016 14:58

Hey everyone, hope you all had good weekends.

5+3 for me now, feel the same as you talulah a bit odd before breakfast but that's it...not even getting up to pee in the night.

Going to have a private scan at 8 weeks as I can't wait...so that's only 2 and a half weeks away. Feels way more manageable than having to wait another 6 weeks!

Had a quick lookup how to look after a newborn and reminded me how little and fragile they are...scary!! I love kids and babies but reckon the first few weeks is going to be mindblowing!

user1474185230 · 19/09/2016 15:32

Feeling blessed - sending hugs your way, I know a few people this has happened to and it's all worked out just fine! Easier said than done but try not to stress. Xx

RedBlu · 19/09/2016 15:36

Hi,

Can I join? I got a BFP last Thursday using a cheapie, did another the next day and a CBD on Saturday which had Pregnant 2-3. The ones with lines were very dark lines, I assume that is a good thing?!

This will be #1 and we have been trying since April.

According to Ovia I am 6 weeks but judging my the CBD, maybe more like 5? Either way, it puts me mid to late May.

It still doesn't seem real and I am freaking myself out that it won't "stick".

So far my symptoms are sore boobs, tiredness, heightened sense of smell and bloating. Keep getting like cramping/tugging feeling as well.

lottesuz8 · 19/09/2016 15:53

Hi all, welcome RedBlu
8 weeks for me now and just had my booking appointment, not much to report they just take urine and blood samples and health history, still doesn't feel real.
Similar to you trinityrabbit just really sore boobs (one size up too) but no bad nausea, just react very strongly to smells and need to eat on time or i feel odd. Unfortunately I now always need to get up to pee in the night, never used to, it is SO annoying.

Hope everyone is well

Sonnet18 · 19/09/2016 15:57

Welcome new people! I have just phoned to postpone my 12 week scan until the following week...I really don't think I'm 6+1 (Nhs dates me as) so my original scan date would only put me at 11weeks so I couldn't get the NT screening...postponed it until the 3rd November when I'm fairly confident I'll be over 12 weeks.
How are you now blessed? Hope the bleeding has stopped

teainbed · 19/09/2016 15:58

Afternoon all. Just checking in, no news. Antenatal clinic tomorrow and midwife booking appointment on Thursday.

Hope things are ok blessed did you manage to speak to anyone?

Welcome everyone new.

AnneLovesGilbert · 19/09/2016 16:28

Congrats RedBlu, I think it's normal to worry, and your symptoms sound good and strong, I'm in exactly the same boat as you on both counts!

Good news on your appointment and scan lottesuz8 and sonnet, makes sense to have it when you think you'll get the most from it.

I'm waiting to hear back on my booking appointment.

Those of whose hospital gives you the option of several different locations to have it, did you get to choose where, and also when?

Had a good chat with my GP this afternoon about my ongoing blood issues, she was fab.

Jingles80 · 19/09/2016 18:02

Thanks user. I've been trying not to look at either before bed but maybe I should cut out earlier. I usually read before bed but have lost interest in any plot lines at the moment, it hurts to use my brain...but maybe I should get back in the habit to try and switch off. I've heard lavender is meant to be good for sleeping, will see if I can get some cream & do the same. Thanks so much.

I also have a job interview on Friday which probably isn't helping. I dont usually stress this much - anxiety is through the roof thinking about it! Confused

fempsych · 19/09/2016 18:14

Hi all, I'm currently stuck in bed with food poisoning, well I hope it is as if they is pregnancy related sickness my next few months will not be fun! Must get round to booking Dr appointments- trying to ignore my want to have an early private scan 😀

FeelingBlessed77 · 19/09/2016 18:58

I'm fine thanks ladies. Bleeding did slow down a bit, but at the moment I'm still bleeding. Cramps have gone away at the moment so fx

Calphurnia · 19/09/2016 20:26

Ahem, tentative knock...

Bfp today, after 3 negatives in the week

Calculator says 28 May, but my usually 27 day cycle has been 25/26 since dc1, who is currently 3.4

Will know more soon I suppose!

Hope everyone is feeling well

SK28 · 19/09/2016 20:33

Hi again! I posted ages ago just after getting my BFP but then got caught up in the busy-ness of life and didn't log on for a while - I've missed a lot!

I have a question... My doctor says I'm 6-7 weeks, due 14th May. Clearly I'm suffering majorly from pregnancy brain because every time I try and work it out, I get different results, but something's telling me the number of weeks and the EDD don't match up... Can I ask if anyone else is also 6-7 weeks and what your EDD is?

I live abroad and things are done quite differently here. I've already had two ultrasounds! So I've seen my tiny bean - teeny tiny soon-to-be-hands and everything! And heard the heartbeat, nice and strong. Which is great - I've been feeling really sick, which I wasn't at all with DD1, so I'd been starting to worry that something might be wrong. So now I'm just convinced it's a boy and that's why pregnancy is feeling different :) Anyone else having 'feelings' about boy/girl?

beachsands · 19/09/2016 20:48

Hi all. I also got flu jab today. Met gp and as it was offered so i took it. I'd traces of blood in urine. Hope it's nothing. Very bloated too. Due date is 23rd May. I hadnt added my date. SK28 I've a feeling it's the same gender as my other dc, no reason why though!
