Hi

I just found out at the weekend that I'm pregnant, this will be no. 2. Had no idea how far gone I was as I had just had AF 7th Aug but after a very early scan this morning it looks like I've conceived since then...very surprised as HPT is seriously strong and I got 5 +ve OPK's last week which by the scan I would have only just conceived at that point.

Very much a waiting game at the moment and back in 2 weeks for another scan. If I am indeed only 3 weeks then I have pretty much the same due date as I had for my DD Grin only 1 year apart. Let the crazy times commence!

Anyone else this early in pregnancy and due in May 2017?

Anne I called my GP to tell them and they booked me in to see GP (wasn't sure if they would need to)
All he did was take my blood pressure and give me a booklet, checked I was taking folic acid and then referred me to the hospital /midwife unit of my choice but you can self refer to it doesn't have to be with a GP. They only called a few weeks later though.
I'm guessing that's when they will book my scan. Exciting

MissMooMoo · 13/09/2016 11:47

I think it depends where you live?
I need to see my GP to get referred to the midwife. Last time I just happened to have an appoinment the morning I got my BFP so she booked me in with midwife and I got a scan letter the week later!
I am not sure when I will phone my surgery for an appointment, maybe next monday.

AnneLovesGilbert · 13/09/2016 11:56

Probably does depend where you live, that's all really helpful.

I might call them next week. I get B12 regularly so might check if I'll need them more frequently.

Northernexile · 13/09/2016 12:05

Hello to everyone new! Congrats!
I got my 12 week scan / booking appointment date in the post yesterday. 10th October, just before I'm 12 weeks. Thatll be the first time I'll see a midwife and I'm going to have a chat about the chances of a vbac. So just under 4 weeks to wait. I'm wishing it away at the minute!

CinnamonTwist · 13/09/2016 13:29

Thanks for all your suggestions on books, I will look them all up and pick a few Grin fox we're going to Cyprus, never been before and booked it a while ago before BFP, it'll be after 12wks, so hopefully most of the 'bad' symptoms will have faded by then. Unfortunately means no wine/cocktails for me, but it's totally worth it Wink

lottiesuz my booking in appt is next week too - Friday. Haven't heard about scan yet, I'm hoping it will be on the early side as I really want to tell my family, but after last time want to make sure the scan is ok first. I'm planning on asking the MW if it can be on the earlier side of the 'window'

missmoomoo and anne I'm in the same boat too - MC last time and then no AF before this BFP, I miscarried about 7.5 weeks last time. I am 8wks tomorrow from MC, but I think I ovulated late, so I think I'm actually more like 7wks - meaning once I get past the weekend I will be further than last time I hope

FoxMulder · 13/09/2016 13:40

I also had a mc just before getting pg with my ds. I counted from the day I started bleeding and it was spot on.

Cyprus sounds lovely cinnamon. We were thinking about a holiday in Jan but I don't know now.

I'm also hoping for an early ish scan because I have a family holiday at half term. It might come out before then anyway if I get really sick like last time.

teainbed · 13/09/2016 14:15

Gosh lots of new folk on here today! Welcome all.

I have really really terrible nausea and for the first time today thought I was going to be sick but it passed.

CinnamonTwist · 13/09/2016 15:17

tea I can sympathise; I tried to eat a banana at my desk today (in an open plan office) had to throw half of it away and really really resist the urge to throw up what I had eaten. Luckily the people sitting around me were in a meeting! And I don't think anyone else noticed Blush No more bananas for me!!
How many weeks are you?

lottesuz8 · 13/09/2016 15:32

I feel mild nausea if I don't eat every two hours or so. Quite annoying Hmm

teainbed · 13/09/2016 16:10

An overripe banana smells terrible! Best avoided. I'm just under 8 weeks according to the NHS calculator I think I'm just under 7 weeks though.

I have a weekend away planned in 2 weeks with some friends, pondering whether to say anything to them. I don't think they'd believe the 'I'm on antibiotics' line.

AnneLovesGilbert · 13/09/2016 16:11

My nausea's been much better today and I haven't had a hot flush yet. Assuming things will just be up and down, and still got the same mild crampiness I've had for over a week, so still some symptoms.

Sorry you're really suffering tea and cinnamon, hope it improves.

How odd that's three of us in exactly the same boat. I'd just got my last bfp the day I stared bleeding with mc and think I ovulated a week after. MN due date calculator says I conceived 10 days after the mc started.

I'm only 4 + 5 so still very early days, but many more symptoms this time so travelling hopefully.

talulahbelle · 13/09/2016 17:01

No real symptoms here yet, 4+6. Could some of you with nausea send some (reassuringly) this way?
I'm tired and peeing more and that's it.
Early private scan two weeks tomorrow, all being well I'll book in with the midwife then.

Adventuregame · 13/09/2016 17:25

No symptoms here either Talulah and I'm 4+6 as well

ginandcake · 13/09/2016 17:36

My nausea is really starting to kick in especially when I'm hungry, but no vomiting yet thankfully. I'm a bit further along though, nearly 7 weeks so I'm sure you'll get some soon! Its crazy isn't it, wanting to feel sick!

Also feeling so tired, on holiday ATM with DH, DDs and the PILs so plenty of rest and naps which is lovely. Not sure how I'm going to cvope with 10 hour days and two DDs!

I have a night out in two weeks tea with a group of friends, most of them know we were TTC so it's going to be really obvious why I'm not drinking! Think I'll prob just tell them.

teainbed · 13/09/2016 18:38

Yes same I think they'll guess, if there's a problem and things don't turn out ok I'll be telling them anyway so they might as well know now.

I know the feeling of wanting some symptoms. With my eldest I had no symptoms at all, nothing, I was convinced I was going to get to the 12 week scan and see nothing. Huge surprise and relief to see him bouncing around in there!

Good luck for early scans everyone. Such long wait for stuff to happen isn't it?

TheMildManneredMilitant · 13/09/2016 18:46

Evening all and welcome those who have just joined.
I'm 6+3 now, no nausea , boobs only intermittently sore and did another CBD yesterday and still only got 2-3 weeks. Spent most of the day googling if this all means I'm going to lose this pregnancy then gave myself a good talking to and decided there is nothing I can do either way so better off not stressing out. I have my booking appointment in 2 weeks, if I still feel so completely normal I will discuss with midwife. The first few weeks are just so unsettling though - sometimes I think all of the access we have to tests and info is a curse rather than a blessing.

talulahbelle · 13/09/2016 19:36

I refuse to do CBD tests, I'm scared of the results not showing the right number of weeks.
It's 7:30pm and I'm seriously thinking about bed, so so tired. But that would be because I spent the day chasing round after DD.

Anyway, in a spirit of hopefulness I went to Aldi today, and with the shop picked up a tiny newborn outfit in organic cotton. 2 vests, a sleepsuit and a cardi. I've hidden them at the moment though, I told DH I wouldn't buy anything until after the 20 week scan as if it's a girl we've got all of DDs old stuff.

teainbed · 13/09/2016 19:48

Militant Cake and Flowers that sounds like a real worry for you. I read that the dating thingy wasn't accurate after 6 weeks. But I guess only a scan is going to reassure you that everything is ok.

beachsands · 13/09/2016 20:25

Hi all. Haven't read through the thread yet. Found out today I'm pregnant. Bit of a shock. Decided to not try this month....Smile and it happens so quite shocked! Now to start reading this thread!

TheMildManneredMilitant · 13/09/2016 20:45

Thanks tea, there are loads of threads with people saying they never got higher than 2-3 and had a healthy pregnancy so it could be fine. Or not. But neither Google or a £10 test are going to predict the future so better to spend my time and money in other ways!

lalaland1985 · 13/09/2016 21:05

My boobs are no longer sore.. So worried. I got my scan date today. October 21st. I don't know how I will wait that long!

Ghostonthedancefloor · 13/09/2016 21:41

Nausea also finally arriving here! Who would know we would get excited about feeling sick.. And the tiredness.. My god it's something else.. I want to collapse in a heap come 4pm...

Notyetthere · 13/09/2016 22:41

May I join? I got my bfp last week on Tuesday 10dpo. It was 4 days before AF was due. Despite a lot of people on here, I tested with an IC which showed a very faint line. I then used a Frer on 11dpo and that was positive.

All the apps show I am due 20th May 2017. Today is 4+3. Exciting but very nervous about the whole process.

I had a pack of 10 ics that I peed on everyday till yesterday morning; just to make sure it wasn't a false positive.

No major symptoms yet, just tired and wanting to sleep all day only to get a burst of energy in the evening.

Sonnet18 · 14/09/2016 06:24

Try not to worry about symptoms. I think I've posted this before so apologies if I have. It's really uncommon to get nausea before six weeks as the hormones aren't really that high. That's what midwife told me, most people I know have said and actually happened with me last time. Nausea will or will not come...I think signs of a miscarriage or failing pregnancy would be lots of symptoms and nausea that then tail off...no symptoms at 4-5 weeks is pretty standard!! I had a mmc first time round and lost my symptoms....however even if you do lose symptoms it could just be body adjusting.
Easier said than done but try to just relax and enjoy the pregnancy.

FoxMulder · 14/09/2016 08:45

I'm really frightened about getting sick. Last time it was hideous. I was bed ridden for a couple of months, couldn't so much as get up to pee without being sick and it didn't stop completely until 20 weeks. This time I've got a toddler to look after so that can't happen again! So I've already been to the docs for anti nausea meds to try to pre empt it.
