Luckily not an explosive one. Just feeding madam to sleep and I will continue with the list. This is me:
Age: 34
Location: Surrey/London
Baby no.2

DottyA · 16/08/2016 12:02

Wow, what a huge list! Thanks Friendly :-) I've been moved to 22nd Feb after my scan.

I'm wearing my first every maternity dress today....at 12+6. I've been living in floaty dresses, which are fine for comfort, but I'm amazed how much better I look in an actual maternity dress. I look like I have a real bump now, rather than just fat! I wonder if I need some maternity leggings to go with it though - my normal ones cut in at the wrong place and give me a horrible spare tyre, and a bigger size will be baggy on the legs. I dunno if maternity ones will be far too big on the tummy though...?

Did not expect to be in maternity wear so early, but I'm sold.

Age: 37
Location: Brighton
First baby.

MrsM2016 · 16/08/2016 12:15

Thanks for updating list friendly :) Just to let you know this is DC1 for me :)

I am 27, from Essex. First baby. X

Sienna9522 · 16/08/2016 12:19

Wow London, we're due date and scan buddies ☺️

MrsM2016 · 16/08/2016 12:22

Anyone else experiences cramps in their legs? I've been getting quite a lot. It doesn't really go, but it's there, lingering!!

MrsM2016 · 16/08/2016 12:28

Sorry, I didn't write that very well. That should say the cramps don't really grip me and get painful, but it's threatening all the time. X

FriendlyGhost · 16/08/2016 12:50

It is done Smile

*Hormonal rant coming up
*
I'm stuck in the house all day today as we have workmen in, they are working in the kitchen so I have no access to it. DH went to the shop on his lunch break and brought me home lunch from the hot food counter and I asked him to get me a galaxy caramel and a tin of Diet Coke (both of these are my cravings at the minute.) he quickly dropped the bag in and rushed off back to work.

I'm really greatful HOWEVER... He got me a sausage roll- which I don't like and haven't ever ate in our whole 8 years together. A salted caramel galaxy caramel and a tin of cherry Coke. They just aren't the same!! When I text him asking what the fk he was thinking he said the thought I might fancy a change.

I might have cried a bit Blush

Naschkatze · 16/08/2016 15:07

Wow, so many people on the list!

Thanks, Ready What do you mean by pointers?! I tried doing planks but was told then I should only do them on my knees by the instructor, which doesn't feel like it does much!

Cinderella Cravings should be taken very seriously, I don't blame you for needing to rant!

Readyfortwo · 16/08/2016 15:15

There's a few variations but basically you kneel on all fours and stick one arm out to the front & the opposite leg to the back, you can also then crunch them in and out or stick them out to the side. Hope that makes sense!

OP posts:
LondonGirl83 · 16/08/2016 15:24

I didn't realise we weren't allowed to do planks! Oh dear... I am going to tell all my instructors I'm pregnant now I'm heading back to the gym next week

Bumblebee33 · 16/08/2016 15:28

Dotty, we are due date buddies and I live about 30 mins from Brighton!

Scan went perfectly today and there was a trainee sonographer who repeated all the measurements so it was a lovely long scan with loads of photos. My due date was adjusted by a couple of days to 22/2.

SkyLucy · 16/08/2016 15:38

Thanks for the list Friendly!

Pelvic floor exercises, blimey, I need to start doing those. And using the bio-oil I bought ages ago! My tummy is obvious now but despite being slim I ALWAYS put weight on there first, so I think it's just all the carbs I've been wolfing!

Cinderella - poor thing! No shame in ranting over food disappointment!

I'm 32
Live in Herts, work in London
First bubba!
14 weeks today, due Valentine's day Smile (three days before I turn 33!)

DottyA · 16/08/2016 16:05

Oh, wow, Bumblebee!. I'm guessing if you're 30 mins away you probably won't be at the Royal Sussex?

Pelvic floor exercises and bio-oil - thanks for the reminder SkyLucy - I must start doing both too. Eek. Definitely real now.

Anyone have any recommendations for online pregnancy workout videos? I can't manage normal exercise as I get out of breath so easily but feel like I'm finally up for doing something again. Will definitely do pregnancy yoga too once I'm 16 weeks (which seems to be the cut-off for most classes).

Naschkatze · 16/08/2016 16:26

London I'm not sure if it was just my instructor being overly cautions. I plan to do a bit more research googling on safe exercises before I go back properly.

Thanks Ready. That makes sense. Will give it a go. Do you plank on knees or toes?

Also, pelvic floor exercises... Haven't even thought about it Blush. I'm going to try coconut oil for stretch mark prevention - recommendation from a friend.

sleepyMe12 · 16/08/2016 16:26

Found you ladies!

I'm 30
S.E London
#3 ds will only be 16 months 🙈

Readyfortwo · 16/08/2016 16:35

Ha ha, knees....but tbh that's not just cos I'm preggers!

OP posts:
topmammy · 16/08/2016 16:51

Can't say I did any pelvic floor exercises while pregnant last time. I didn't realise you were supposed to be honest. I started doing them after DD was born but haven't kept it up very well Shock Must try and remember.

twocatsandatoddler · 16/08/2016 16:55

I didn't really do any pelvic floor exercises either, I meant to but kept forgetting. Thankfully that's the one advantage of recovering from a c-section compared to normal birth, no stitches down there and a relatively intact set of pelvic floor muscles! Although pregnancy takes its toll on them anyway even if you don't give birth vaginally.

LaceyLee · 16/08/2016 16:56

Hi all
32
DC 2
Essex

I've just been doing some workouts at home, not been adjusting loads but a bit less jumping about. Starting yoga and Pilates next month. Not tried pregnancy Pilates before but I liked yoga last time as apparently it helps with getting baby in to a good birthing position and it's good for different positions and breathing in labour.

ScottyAl · 16/08/2016 17:34

Hi all,

I've had a quick read through the read but it's hard to keep on top of it as it's so fast moving!

I've done my first two days back at work after the summer holidays and I forgot how tiring it is talking at people and having eyes everywhere all day! It's good to be doing something and to be in a routine again though Smile

I drove an hour to my nearest (flagship) Next after work last night to try and get some trousers that fit. Useless! They don't stock maternity and the next size up just look stupid. I ended up with a £10 pair from Asda that look and feel like PJs but are bloody comfortable! I've not got a bump, just a bit of an explosion of podge and a lot of bloating in the evenings.

My 'stats':

Age: 33
Location: Scottish Borders
First baby (hellllllpppppppp!!)

Itslittlek · 16/08/2016 17:35

Hey all,

I have a question...is anyone else alarmed at how much their uterus seemingly moves about during the day...is that normal? I am quite slender and petite (5ft tall, 50kg) and honestly when I lay flat my bump is all over the place, and really firm!?

Anyone?

Shellbell0403 · 16/08/2016 17:38

First day back at work survived... exhausted and handled the nausea.

Just read a post on fb about how 300,000 women die each year giving birth and have freaked myself out massively!!

cinderella i hope he brought the correct one when he came/comes home

Bumblebee33 · 16/08/2016 17:40

Dotty, I am with St Richards in Chichester. Worthing is technically closer but St Richards is a lovely hospital.

I practise my pelvic floor exercises whenever I am stopped at traffic lights! As I pass a few sets on the way to work and back, it means I at least remember a few times a day :) Red light, tense it tight!

Readyfortwo · 16/08/2016 18:06

That's a great idea bumblebee
