Divadee - good luck with the move!!!! Ours is in 10 days - state of total panic here!! Confused

divadee · 29/08/2016 20:49

fenella I'm panicking now! Bit late I think as the removal men come at 7.30 tomorrow morning. Gahhhhh.

Best to panic with still 10 days to go! We still have to make a trip to the charity shop tomorrow morning as well

GinIsIn · 29/08/2016 20:56

divadee - so far I have done precisely nothing - I really need to get my backside in gear!!

The decorators start in the new house tomorrow so at least that's a step forward I suppose....

Pudding01 · 29/08/2016 21:04

Hey ladies. Looks like I've missed loads!
I'm also moving tomorrow. Spent all of yesterday and today emptying my house with numerous trips to the tip! I'm absolutely knackered and my back kills, but I'm so excited Smile

Has anyone received any baby gifts yet? I got my first one yesterday & I got all emotional!

LondonGirl83 · 29/08/2016 21:10

ceecee congrats on the scan pics.

diva moving is always horrendous no matter what. We always have more stuff than we think we do and so much of it is useless tat. Since moving to our current place, I go through the cupboards regularly and purge. However, I was in the room we'll use as the nursery this weekend and my DH has filled the wardrobe with good know what crap! I've told him it needs to be cleared out by the 20 week scan. It looks mostly like old computer bits etc....

LondonGirl83 · 29/08/2016 21:11
  • God knows what crap....(not good know)
topmammy · 29/08/2016 23:01

Good luck to all those moving house! Hope it goes smoothly. Since becoming pregnant me and DH have decided we really want to move house for a number of reasons. But the thought of having the house up for sale right now and potentially moving during later pregnancy or with a really new newborn stresses me out a bit so I think it's best we wait until baby is born. Can't help looking on rightmove at potential new houses though....then watching them be sold, argh, haha!

divadee · 30/08/2016 07:23

Morning ladies. So I'm up and about early and still just sat on my arse on mumsnet instead of doing last minute things. I must get motivated today or this move will not go well.

Hope everyone else is well and starting to bloom (I'm definitely not blooming!)

Pudding01 · 30/08/2016 07:54

Thanks Topmammy Smile
In hindsight, doing all this whilst pregnant probably wasn't our best move. But we'd put our house on the market before we found out we were having a baby and just went with it.
I think you're right with not starting it all now though, as the last thing you want do heavily pregnant/with a newborn is have the stress & exhaustion of moving house. It's tiring me out at nearly 4 months, never mind 8 or 9 lol

Hope everyone is feeling better than the first trimester & starting to bloom nicely x

MimiDiddy · 30/08/2016 07:55

Diva good luck with the move today. I'm actually jealous of your house move, I'm on day 33 of sleeping in my cellar due to building works, and I've probably got another 5 weeks of subterranean dwelling ahead of me 😩

Shellbell0403 · 30/08/2016 08:14

Good luck Diva and pudding with the house move!

Ceecee lovely scan pic 😚

SBSparkles · 30/08/2016 08:44

Morning everyone! Good luck with house move diva and pudding! Ok so I have a question for any second/third time mums on here. Is it normal to start to feel movements and even a couple of nights of crazy kicks then hardly anything?? Obviously it's still early (18+3 today) but I'm freaking out and hardly slept a wink all night for worrying! Not cool! I think I might have felt a couple of little movements last night but not much. Can anyone help and stop me going mad!? Confused

twocatsandatoddler · 30/08/2016 08:49

I moved at this stage last time, it was definitely easier than it would have been doing it with a newborn.

We're planning a big extension project next year when I'll have a newborn and a 2 year old. I must be mental.

twocatsandatoddler · 30/08/2016 08:52

SBS I feel the baby a lot some nights and hardly at all other days. I think the baby is still so small and has so much room in there that it depends what position they're in and where their kicks are aimed - I think we wouldn't feel them at this stage if they were towards the back if that makes sense?

Evergreen17 · 30/08/2016 09:04

Good morning ladies
Midwife app on Thursday and I can't wait. I got it in my head that bubba is not ok anymore because I felt bubbles last week. Then we went on canoes where my arms and my back got so sore at the end of the day that I was in tears and had to put ice on my back and take paracetamol it was so bad.
Then no more bubbles so I am just so worried even though I researched and very unlikely that rowing would affect bubba but I dont know
I have no bump no bubbles Sad

Regarding the 20w scan... Do they tell you the sex in the NHS Friendly you are East Surrey right? Will they?

SBSparkles · 30/08/2016 09:14

Evergreen that was my worry as well but I do think this early it's on and off with regards to movements. Not easy though. Why do you think rowing would hurt baby? I think it's only impact sport that would hurt like if you get hit in the stomach.
In my 20 week scan letter it's all very serious and says they'll only tell you if they happen to notice but the scan is for checking abnormalities. Loads of my letter was written in capital letters!! ShockShock

Pudding01 · 30/08/2016 09:18

Thanks everyone Smile

Aww Evergreen don't worry hun. You're in the same boat as me, mine is on Thursday as well. We went to a festival last weekend and obviously the vibrations were going through me for 3 days & now I'm worried I've caused damage. I'm sure everything will be ok and we're just getting last minute anxiety attacks like we did before the scan x

SBSparkles · 30/08/2016 09:20

Thanks twocats I think you're right x

divadee · 30/08/2016 09:23

sparkles I am exactly the same. 18 weeks today and last week loads of movement. Then the weekend really nothing. Tried cold drinks and everything. Then yesterday a flurry but today nothing again so saying this is normal if you are getting it as well.

kikisdelivery · 30/08/2016 09:38

Morning all, hope everyone is well.

Blimey this thread moves fast! Hope all the house moves go well for those undertaking them this week. I have a confession, I absolutely love moving, I'm one of those wierdos! Clearly my ideal job should be in some sort of removals firm!! Not sure about it when pregnant, mind you!!

A quick question for you ladies who're either already at your 20 week scan or who have had previous bubs - in your Trust, did they offer further scan pics to purchase? I'd love 20 week scan pics if we're allowed, especially as we aren't paying for any private stuff, but I'm not sure if they offer it!

Oh, and a general question to you all. How are you all sleeping? I've read all this stuff about how we're only meant to sleep on our sides, left particularly, but now my sleep is dreadful because I'm a real back-sleeper and miss it!! I just can't get comfy and feel like I'm having really "thin" sleep at the moment... and it's only going to get worse!! Am I being overly paranoid?

Sunshineface123 · 30/08/2016 09:40

How are you all going with weight gain? I've put on 7 pounds already, seemed like quite a lot so hoping that's normal?! Have eaten lots of treats over the summer holidays, back to healthy lunch when at work next week!

Sunshineface123 · 30/08/2016 09:48

kiki finding hard to sleep on my right, I've always slept on my front! Can sort of still do it with some pillows squished in! I'm hoping we don't have to sleep on the right till bit later, but not sure!

SBSparkles · 30/08/2016 10:20

Kiki I am sleeping terribly. I'm fine if DH isn't in the bed (he does 24 hour shifts sometimes) but when he's there I can't sleep at all. He's not even particularly noisy or moves that much its like I cant stand ANY other noise or movement apart from my own! I also keep waking really early - about 6ish and am desperately hungry. If I don't eat as SOON as I wake I feel really sick. I also drink about two pints of water a night even though I drink a lot in the day (my urine samples are like clear) I've never had it before now, its kinda annoying. I think this baby is going to be huge the amount it's making me eat and drink! ;-)

Bisquick · 30/08/2016 10:43

Hello ladies! For everyone who's had babies before, did anyone try hypnobirthing, and if so is there a class (in London) or book you recommend?
And kiki - during my NT scan at UCLH they gave us a couple of ultrasound pictures for no charge (even though the paperwork said we need to let the technician know beforehand if we wanted pictures and that they'd be £2 each). Good luck for your scan!
And hope everyone's house moves went smoothly!

divadee · 30/08/2016 11:50

Sat in a deckchair eating salt and vinegar crisps in my lounge. The packers are doing it all and I fell so lazy and useless. Normally I would be in there helping and doing stuff.
