diva I wouldn't worry, it's what you've paid them for!! When we got packers I tried to help and was roundly shooed out of the way, and told it was why we paid the fees to them! The only "help" they wanted was in the form of mugs of tea to keep them fuelled. But as you're pregnant I say point them toward the kettle and get them to do it themselves!

SBSparkles · 30/08/2016 12:25

I called the midwife about movement and she said the fact that I could even feel anything at 18 weeks meant I was lucky and that they don't expect us to have movements every day until about 28 weeks! Just thought I'd share for the other people who were worrying!
Bis just I want to do hypnobirthing! I've got a book from a friend (best seller in Amazon) and you download the hypnosis tracks online. Going to start after 20 week scan.

FriendlyGhost · 30/08/2016 12:53

Good luck with the house moves!
I managed to rebook my 16 week appointment for next week when I'll be 18 weeks. I was really looking forward to hearing the heartbeat this week but I know it will come around quickly.
Evergreen they definitely tell you the sex if they can see. When's your scan? All being well mine's the 23rd!

LondonGirl83 · 30/08/2016 13:25

I hope the moves have gone well for everyone. Diva don't feel lazy, its what you are paying for.

Kiki in expecting better they partially debunked the sleeping on the left issue. Recent research has debunked the idea that it restricts blood flow in a way that is dangerous during pregnancy. However, apparently there is some evidence it increases the risk of SIDS post birth. Its just a correlation rather than a cause though. I just try to sleep on my left as much as possible but often wake up on my back (and I normally sleep on my side when not pregnant but find everything hurts if I don't move during the night at least a couple of times).

Sunshine- 7lbs sounds normal based on what I've read. 30% of the 25-30lbs we are meant to gain should be before 20 weeks or something like that. I'm down 13 lbs so am starting to get a little worried as I'm still losing about a pound a week. I might speak to my GP as I just can't seem to eat enough to keep my weight stable. I feel like the baby is taking up all the room and my stomach can't stretch or something. I get very sick if I try to eat a normal sized meal...

Sunshineface123 · 30/08/2016 17:30

Thanks london did a bit of Dr Google and seems about average. Can't believe you've lost weight, hope you've not felt too poorly

Readyfortwo · 30/08/2016 18:13

There's no way I'm getting on the scales again until after the birth!

Thanks Sparkles. I think I tend to put things together to confirm whichever bad scenario I have created in my head. So no bubbles and the really bad soreness after rowing then it must be bad! Not very rational I know Sad
Interesting, on my letter I just had the same "rules" that I had on the 16th week one. Just about timing and whom you can bring with you. I understand the main thing is to check for abnormalities for sure but if it is all ok I would like to know!

Ahh Pudding, what a bunch of worries we are

Kikis at my hospital you can buy pics, the info was on the letter. I think yes to sleeping on left side a bit further on, not needed yet I think

I am also waking up a lot through the night to drink and wee or just because. Hot , cold, all sorts

Sunshine 3.9 kilos on but all my fault due to snacking

LondonGirl83 · 30/08/2016 21:02

Sunshine I have good days and bad days. Today was a good day. I feel really good. I've eaten relatively big meals and went to pregnancy pilates.

Ladies I cannot recommend pregnancy pilates enough! All the aches and pains I've been suffering with recently, particularly in my hips, literally vanished as soon as I did the class. I feel like my old self again :)

There is one pregnancy yoga and one pregnancy pilates class per week at my gym and I am going to try to do both of those plus 2 spinning classes once the weather cools down in London.

wispaxmas · 30/08/2016 21:14

Diva and pudding, we moved house when I was 28 weeks last time and it was actually quite nice! Fresh clean house to 'nest' in and less accumulated crap as we chucked a lot in the move and some new furniture and a new room to do up as a nursery! After the stress of waiting to complete on the house, actually moving and settling in was really exciting, I hope you guys find it the same!

wispaxmas · 30/08/2016 21:15

Oh, and fenella! Sorry I missed you, can't believe there are three of you moving house.

Shellbell0403 · 30/08/2016 21:18

Went to Chester zoo today... 23500 steps! Exhausted and achy legs!

LondonGirl83 · 30/08/2016 21:40

Wow shell- that's amazing! Since getting pregnant I haven't been able to do anything like that. Today was actually my first day back at the gym in 8 weeks!

GinIsIn · 30/08/2016 21:45

Thanks wispa! It's doubly complicated as we are moving to an entirely new town about 60 miles away so the organisation is something of a challenge! Although it's actually quite lovely so far - I would normally do all my own decorating but we've hired a decorator to sort it all out before we move in, and he's turning out to be a compete gem. He's got young kids himself, and has come over extremely paternal and keeps fixing stuff for free! Grin

GinIsIn · 30/08/2016 21:46

Only downside is to avoid getting the decorator out twice, we've had to already choose a colour scheme for the nursery! We've gone grey with yellow and white, and we'll be adding accents mint green for a boy and pink for a girl once we find out!

wispaxmas · 30/08/2016 21:56

Grey and yellow is lovely! Our nursery walls are grey, but we accented with all different colour from the M&P patternology range, which I just love. A few people I know have done grey and yellow, though, on even bought the massive Melissa and Doug giraffe to go in the nursery!

topmammy · 30/08/2016 22:09

Our spare room which will be this baby's nursery has wallpaper I'm quite fond of on opposite walls then a neutral colour on the other two walls. I'm not going to bother changing it as we will hopefully move house before this baby even sleeps in the nursery Grin. The wallpaper is a kind of woodland leaves type print so if anyone asks it's jungle themed ok haha!

topmammy · 30/08/2016 22:11

Oh and I love grey! My front room is polished pebble grey with a warm pewter accent wall. Next house I will paint polished pebble basically everywhere I reckon Grin

SBSparkles · 30/08/2016 22:18

Evergreen I'm sure they'll tell us the sex if they can see it. I think they had to give stern instructions because you might get whole families going in being really noisy or something!! I really want to know so am hoping they will tell us! And yes I know that feeling of convincing yourself if something! I do it all the time! I'm sure the rowing was fine and as my midwife said today - not expected to feel movement every day until 28 weeks.Smile
In bed now and tummy feels like it's being stretched! (Which obviously it is!) had weird stick in my side all night - not had that before unless I'm actually exercising! I'm already missing just lying however I like in bed! Not that I'm complaining! Grin

SBSparkles · 30/08/2016 22:18

Stitch not stick!

GinIsIn · 30/08/2016 22:19

Polished pebble is exactly what I've chosen! Grin To be fair, it was an easy choice as that's what we already have in the bedrooms in our flat too. I love it!

divadee · 30/08/2016 22:50

Well we are in! In absolute chaos but in!!! A wardrobe got broken in the move gahhhhh so nowhere to hang out clothes until we buy a new one but meh if that's the worst then that's ok. Just now got to unpack a million boxes.

Hope your move went ok pudding

twocatsandatoddler · 31/08/2016 07:57

This baby isn't getting a nursery. We decorated the smallest bedroom for DS, complete with matching Mamas and Papas cot bed and changing table. I don't want to make him feel he's being moved out for the baby, so #2 will have to make do with an IKEA cot in the corner of the large spare room, which also doubles as our study when one of us is working from home - we'll set up a travel cot in our room when guests stay so we can still use the spare bed. When he/she is a bit older and hopefully sleeping well, then both kids will share the larger bedroom and we'll turn DS's current small room into a spare room. It'll only be temporary as we'd like to put a fourth bedroom in the attic at some point and then they can have a room each.

I don't see the point of redecorating at this point since we will be changing the rooms around a lot over the next few years and babies don't care about decor so I'll probably just style the corner of the spare room with a few baby items and then redecorate the whole room as a kids' room taking into account their interests when they start sharing. The room is currently grey, so yellow and mint green accents would look lovely in the corner Smile

GinIsIn · 31/08/2016 08:00

twocats - we did wonder if there was any point doing the full nursery thing as if the baby has to be in with us for 6 months and we would redecorate to reflect their own likes and dislikes once they are about 2 or 3 we weren't sure, but I already have to share with a loud snoring DH and a clingy rescue dog and I'm a light sleeper as it is, so Baby Maxwell is definitely getting punted over to the nursery! Grin

twocatsandatoddler · 31/08/2016 08:12

DS got moved out to his nursery at 8 weeks! And the first night we put him in his cot, he slept through for the first time!

We'll probably do the same for this one, depending on how many night feeds I'm doing at that stage, and then just move him/her back in with us when we have guests in the spare room.

topmammy · 31/08/2016 08:23

When I tried to move DD into her own room at 6 months that's when her sleeping got really bad. So that's when I started cosleeping in my bed out of sheer exhaustion and she's still there now, aged 2. I don't care anymore as long as I'm getting sleep Grin. I do hope this next baby is different though as I would like to sleep next to my husband again at some point in the next 10 years! Hmm
