Congratulations super and daisy for the scans.

Booking in appointment was pretty uneventful, thanks for the heads up super, but the midwife was really friendly and sympathetic about the symptoms which was nice. And she didn't make me feel bad for having a higher bmi than I'd like, which was one of my worries.

rbucz · 22/08/2016 15:47

Sorry for the double post

Dustycorners · 22/08/2016 16:08

Great news Super!

NameChange30 · 22/08/2016 17:13

Daisy and Super Congratultions on your happy scan news! Smile

rbucz Think that might have been me not Super but anyway glad the midwife was nice!

Symptom-wise I'm still knackered although managed to be reasonably productive at work today so I feel I've earned an evening of lazing on the sofa Wink

Sorry namechange! And thank you!

neonrainbow · 22/08/2016 18:09

Good to see happy scan news and some new posters have joined us Smile

There's a woman who is about 4 weeks ahead of me and she felt her baby moving today! That could be me in a few weeks!

alphabook · 22/08/2016 18:53

Great news Daisy and Super!

Carolann8584 · 23/08/2016 00:27

I was hoping to get my letter for my scan today, didn't get it, not been a week since my booking in appointment so will wait a few more days, I'm 10+4 today xx

SuperDuperJezebel · 23/08/2016 06:48

Have you asked your midwife Carolann? She might be able to chase it up for you.

Cracking out the maternity shorts today, just with the elasticated bits on the sides... Super comfy!

Butterpuff · 23/08/2016 07:01

At close to 11 weeks I'd definitely chace it up with MW Carolann if your letter is lost they can tell you and if the appointment hasn't been made they can chase it up. But your getting close to time.

super wish I had some summer maternity bits to get comfy. I was wearing a maximum dress last night and honestly looked like I did at Christmas last time (this baby is due around DCs birthday) can't believe how much earlier I'm growing.

Cloeycat · 23/08/2016 07:25

I thought we were supposed to have the most gorgeous thick glossy hair at the moment... Mines just greasy as hell all the time! Like if I have a shower in the morning it's greasy by afternoon. Anyone else?

Carolann8584 · 23/08/2016 07:55

Cloey mine too, growing like mad along with my nails but hair needs washing more. I was doing it 1-2 times a week now every other day if I'm lucky

Carolann8584 · 23/08/2016 07:58

MW only works Wednesdays, so I'll give her a ring tomorrow if I don't hear anything, not sure who else to call, GP or hospital? Would a copy of the letter be in my file if it has been sent x

Butterpuff · 23/08/2016 08:08

I think so carolann my mw had a copy in my notes and confirmation in their computer system. Which was lucky as my letter had a different hospital to theirs! Hmm

Butterpuff · 23/08/2016 08:10

Forgot to say, if you see your mw at gp then they should have access to the information I think. I'm based at mlu and they have a receptionist who has access to all my appointment dates.

Imavinoops · 23/08/2016 08:25

Carolann My GP booked mine in when I saw him at 4 weeks but I only got my booking appointment set up last week. Weirdly I'm having the booking appointment a day after my scan. When the MW called to book I missed it and within 5 mins had left a text, voicemail and had called again so I got the feeling I had been a bit lost in the system as she was so desperate to get a hold of me to book it.
It's a bit worrying if you think you're appointments are coming late isn't it? I would chase up for sure.

Cloey All my symptoms have pretty much gone now. Other than the fact I have the most terrible skin and hair! Everyone keeps saying I look nice but I feel like a big ol' greasy mess.

First scan tomorrow, I'm so excited (and a tiny bit scared too ;))

MrsMushrooms · 23/08/2016 08:38

Good luck for your scan tomorrow, imavinoops!!

My skin was awful at first but seems to have cleared up a bit now. I've still got fairly greasy hair but tbh I can be prone to that anyway so I hadn't really linked it to pregnancy.

Does anyone else feel like they have really waxy ears all of a sudden though?? Dunno if that's TMI haha but I've never been bothered by ear wax until the past couple of weeks when I feel like I'm constantly reaching for the cotton buds :S maybe that's not a pregnancy thing... Maybe I'm just really weird!!!

Newbie7077 · 23/08/2016 08:55

everyone will hate me now but my hair has actually gone very shiny. My skin however is getting worse :( spots and stuff which i haven't had since i was a teenager.
Congratulations to Daisy and Super ( bit behind!)

NameChange30 · 23/08/2016 08:58

My hair's been a bit greasier than usual, but not too bad. My skin's terrible though! I keep getting big, painful spots that are deep in my skin and take ages to clear.

We were talking about maternity clothes a few pages back... Who was asking about Gap sizing? I had said the regular length was fine for me, but I take it back! Ordered some maternity chinos and they're angle-swinger length Sad I'm 5'8 so they would probably be perfect on someone 2 or 3 inches shorter!

I'm really struggling with this in-between stage for clothes. Most of my clothes are too tight around the middle, but maternity clothes are still a bit too big Sad Need to get more baggy shirts I think!

Thanks ladies I will chase up at my GPs today that's where my MW is based. She did say I should have my scan between the 30/08-10/09

My jeans feel extra tight today, at home I can get out the leggings and long tops but if I start wearing them to work someone will suspect. At the mo my jeans are under bump (more likely bloated tummy) lol.

My manager is on hols for 2 weeks from today so office to myself, hopefully I can share beany news with her when she gets back on the 5th

Clarity77 · 23/08/2016 09:24

Had my booking in yesterday. Nothing exciting as no tests/ examination at all. Didn't weigh me check urine or anything just filled in a form. A bit of a wasted of a day for my partner.
Apparently she can now request my scan which can be up to 13 weeks, I really hope it's not that long as I need the reassurance. I will be waiting for my scan letter every day now too.

Dozygirl · 23/08/2016 09:27

I've been wearing more jeggings type jeans since having dd and they're still OK on me at the moment. Didn't have to crack into maternity jeans for ages with her though but I can see it being different this time around.

Carolann my appointment letter took over a week from booking to come in but it would do no harm to ring up. I'd just ring up the hospital and be asked to be put through to women's ultrasound and they can look on the system for you. I don't think a midwife would chase it up. I don't like ringing up people and luckily my letter came through this time and I'm able to make the appointment but it can be difficult to change depending on how busy they are.

2 days till my scan and I'm getting nervous. Just want it over with now so I can relax a bit. Good luck to people having them in the next few days. It really is a wonderful feeling when you see them wiggling around in there.

alphabook · 23/08/2016 09:39

I would call the antenatal department Carol, they should be able to tell you if you've got an appointment.

My skin has been terrible recently but seems to be clearing up now. My hair has always been greasy so not much change there! My nails are definitely growing quicker though!

Carolann8584 · 23/08/2016 09:46

Ok just rung the hospital they have my date, letter to follow.

Feel like its ages away but its the 6th Sept, 2 weeks today. Smile

Carolann8584 · 23/08/2016 10:23

My skins terrible as well. mostly round my hair line due to it getting more greasy, still drinking lots of water or even more than I use to so my skin would stay clear so defo a pregnancy thing Smile
