My scan went well! There is a baby in there! Shock I'm a few days further along than I thought, my due date has been brought forward to 27th Feb. I'm going to stick around though if that's ok Smile

The sonographer offered to guess at the sex, and we said yes - she thinks it's probably a boy. Time will tell!

Great news Name so happy for you

x

Butterpuff · 19/08/2016 10:28

Brilliant name glad to hear all went well and an early boy guess too! Smile

Dustycorners · 19/08/2016 10:43

Congratulations Name!

Good luck to everyone else with scans today. Fingers crossed for you Worn.

neonrainbow · 19/08/2016 11:01

I hope everything goes well worn.

Good news name change its weird isn't it seeing it up there on the screen Smile

Carolann8584 · 19/08/2016 11:44

Well first bag of crisp in a while cleverly disguised in a sandwich Smile just fancied a crisp butty, but the idea of crisps on there own knocks me queasy.

Butterpuff · 19/08/2016 11:51

It's odd the nausea. Last night the only thing I could keep down was plain boiled rice. Today I had a tuna sandwich. Confused I had a feeling tuna was on the limit list, but the limit is 4 cans a week. Not sure I'd manage that normally!

DaisyBank82 · 19/08/2016 12:24

Hello ladies. Sorry I didn't update yesterday after my scan. It was DH's birthday and we had a jam packed day, which was tricky on top of a sleepless night but anyway, the baby waved at daddy on his birthday and has a lovely little beating heart Smile Unfortunately the sonographer couldn't take the NT measurements because of several factors 1) I was dated yesterday at 11+4 so the baby was quite small to take a measurements from, that's really the min size they could measure with. I wasn't surprised to be dated earlier as I have a longer cycle so although it was 12 weeks based on LMP I expected a few days wiggle down. 2) My uterus is/ was tilted so the baby was in the wrong place 3) I have a high bmi which makes measuring harder (I'm sad about this, as I've said before). Anyway the lady was really apologetic and said I should try to book back in in the next two weeks but they didn't have space at that hospital so if have to call around. Either that or I could wait until 15 weeks and have some other type of screening (bloods?) but that isn't ideal because if it flags any issues things are further along so hard decisions get harder. As it happens the other hospital can see me on Monday so that's good and I can see the bean again! But I am now worried it still won't be big enough to get the measurement. But it's worth a try! And we've been talking and a high risk of downs wouldn't mean a termination for us. Edwards Syndrome, which I don't know enough about, might be a different matter as I think it's "worse" in terms of very short life expectancy? Anyway I'll cross that bridge if I come to it. For now, happy to have seen a live baby - it didn't move as much as DD did but did have a tiny hand up by its head which was clear and moving so that was very cute. I think we will tell more family this weekend as we are seeing them at a lunch on Sat (my parents already know),
Really hope you get good news today, Boots, and any other scan ladies who have scans I have missed.
New EDD 5th March (moved from 2nd). I'll try to find the file. I'm up for joining a Facebook group of there is one?

Daisy
Congratulations on your scan! Smile
Hope you can get another one in time to do the NT measurement.
The screening tests are for Down's, Edward's and Patau's. I believe the last two are very serious as the baby cannot survive very long at all. I opted for the screening as even if we do nothing I'd like to know.
Here's the link for the stats spreadsheet:

I don't think there's a Facebook group yet.

Congrats daisy on the scan such an exciting time. I'm opting for the testing too same as others it's just nice to know even if you don't do anything with the information so I hope you get that sorted at your next scan

DaisyBank82 · 19/08/2016 12:41

Thanks for the link, Name, and congrats too on your good scan news! I can't seem to update the file from my phone so will have a go on a laptop when I get a chance.

MrsMushrooms · 19/08/2016 13:02

Congrats on your scan, NameChange!!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you, Boots!

As we're getting into scan territory, is it maybe time for a FB group? Happy to set one up if folk are interested! Obviously a top secret one so no Facebook friends can see

alphabook · 19/08/2016 13:04

Congrats Daisy and Name! Lovely news.

Daisy my first thought when I read about NT was that Downs wouldn't be a reason for us to terminate but Edwards and Patau are much more severe and have a much shorter life expectancy (normally stillbirth or shortly after birth), so we went for the test for those reasons.

alphabook · 19/08/2016 13:06

I'm up for joining a Facebook group!

Just ordered my Baby On Board badge as well! After being offered a seat twice on the tube when people thought I was pregnant and I wasn't, who wants to bet that precisely no one gives me a seat now! Grin

Carolann8584 · 19/08/2016 13:12

I'm not on FB so I'll be staying on here Smile

SuperDuperJezebel · 19/08/2016 13:31

For those of you that were talking maternity clothes I just got an email from gap with a 35% off code (shop12gap) until midnight tonight and free delivery on maternity stuff. Is it tight that even with 35% off I'm reluctant to pay that much for their jeans?!

NameChange30 · 19/08/2016 13:35

Thanks for the tip Super! I love Gap jeans!

Mummytobe83 · 19/08/2016 13:37

Congrats Daisy and Name change.

Good luck for anyone else having their scan soon.
A Facebook group would be wonderful x

SpanielLedWeaning · 19/08/2016 13:41

I have put my stats onto the spreadsheet. My scan is in a week and I can't wait as feel decidedly un-pregnant right now!

MrsMushrooms · 19/08/2016 13:43

I'll set a group up, please PM me the email address you use for FB and I'll send you an invite (I can't just share a link here as it'll be a secret group!)

Good tip on the Gap sale, but I'm a bit tight as well! Got some fab shorts from H&M today and they're the best shorts I've ever had - I'm a maternity-wear convert!! I've also got some jeans on their way from George at Asda to cut down into shorts for my holiday - fingers crossed they're just as comfortable!

Mummytobe83 · 19/08/2016 13:54

MrsMushrooms I don't know how to send private messages on herConfused

CountdownBegins · 19/08/2016 13:57

Hi all- I've been MIA for a while with lots going on. So sorry to hear about so many losses but also lovely to see some scan photos of healthy little beans.

I've put my details on the spreadsheet- hope it has worked! docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1tl0V5sekPH5I0Rzw0Y5b4-NXmpb7jUV4mjw4YsyP3ZU

9 weeks today and hardly any sickness which makes a change from DS!

Hope everyone is ok- will try and post more often.

SuperDuperJezebel · 19/08/2016 13:58

You're welcome Name change! I'm just wondering how the sizing comes up, I'm usually a 12, is gap true to size? Only ever bought tops and chinos from there in the past, usually when we are in the US as its cheaper and there's always sales on. I'm wondering about the length too as I'm only 5ft3.
