Happy I'm jealous you have your scan date already and you had booking in after me. I'm ringing Monday if I hear nothing. I need a date to look forward to. Getting so nervous about things not going well and I don't know why! Although i did feel that way last time too. Until I see it heartbeat I just worry something has gone wrong.

Well I thought I had only told a select few colleagues about my pregnancy whilst I'd been off but today's shift has confirmed that probably everybody knows 😓😓 feeling quite annoyed about it because I like telling people myself and them saying congratulations instead of people gossiping behind my back about it. I have no idea what people have said so I'm just thinking the worst but I'd still have liked to be the one telling people. Oh well. Done now. Once scans done everyone will know anyway.

MrsMushrooms · 18/08/2016 21:55

It's really weird because I'm craving Diet Coke like crazy though I don't normally drink it. I wonder why we're all getting that? I'm on the caffeine-free stuff though so I don't have to try and track how much I'm drinking. Not as good but it hits the spot!

Carolann8584 · 19/08/2016 01:05

10 weeks today, quarter of the way there Grin xx

NameChange30 · 19/08/2016 04:18

Can't sleep Sad Angry

I've always liked Diet Coke and I'm still drinking it. It doesn't have much caffeine (certainly not compared to tea or coffee, which I don't drink anyway) but I'm limiting myself to one a day so I don't OD on the stuff!

Right going to see if reading a book will make me sleepy...

SuperDuperJezebel · 19/08/2016 05:10

Can't sleep either... Husband is snoring like its going out of fashion. And now having read your post I fancy a Diet Coke!

Dustycorners · 19/08/2016 06:06

Ugh, DS woke at 2am, dh went to him but it took me over an hour and a half to get back to sleep. Now dh's alsrm has gone off and DS will wake soon. Pregnancy insomnia sucks, doesn't it?!

Carolann8584 · 19/08/2016 07:38

Don't like today already, woke up at 4 after going to sleep at 2, not been back to sleep yet, been to the loo about 20 times, last time I teamed it up with being sick all over floor while sat on loo, no warning just...... Tmi sorry. Rubbish start to the day. Don't want to go to work.

Sorry for the rest of you having sleep issues xx

HmrTron · 19/08/2016 07:45

Hi secretscaryfriend and happygojo...ftm alert here! What are under and upper bump things and when would you use them?

alphabook · 19/08/2016 07:52

Oh Carol that sounds awful, I don't think I'd be able to go to work if i were you!

I've slept really badly the last few nights. Last night I had a really vivid anxiety nightmare that I was doing my A levels and I couldn't answer the questions! (I'm 29!) I woke up with my heart pounding!

SpanielLedWeaning · 19/08/2016 07:56

I think the under and over the bump clothes references the 2 types of maternity trousers there are. Some have an elasticated waist and sit under the baby bump - I found these always seemed to slip down on me. The over the bump trousers have an extra elasticated section which pulls up over the bump and covers it almost completely.

A lot of people I know use under the bump at the start of pregnancy and change to over the bump when they get bigger.

neonrainbow · 19/08/2016 08:08

Can you use over the bump before you really get a bump because i dont have the money to buy loads of maternity clothes. Or will it look weird?

Sorry to hear some of you are struggling to sleep Sad i dont do well on no sleep.

NameChange30 · 19/08/2016 08:24

Good luck for your scans today bumblebee and NoisyLittleLion!

DH and I are on our way to the hospital for my scan!! Feel like death warmed up (very tired and grumpy) due to an atrocious night's sleep. Hopefully the excitement will get me through!

wornoutboots · 19/08/2016 08:39

neon I'm still happily wearing my over he bump leggings from last time ( she was born 16 months ago) - no-one can see they are maternity ones as the extra is under my tops anyway. they're comfy.

SuperDuperJezebel · 19/08/2016 08:40

Good luck scan ladies! I don't like the idea of under bump cos I don't like the idea of my belly hanging out... I like my gut tucked in! I already have a wobbly loose tummy due to losing a LOT of weight a few years ago and I actually feel a bit horrified at the thought of it hanging out. Quite looking forward to it being a bit less wibbly as the baby gets bigger!

Poor you Carolann, sounds like you are a few weeks behind me and that's how I felt a few weeks ago. I hope, like me, you feel loads better soon!

SpanielLedWeaning · 19/08/2016 08:43

I think I'll be going straight to the over the bump jeans along with leggings and other stretchy trousers. I really didn't like the under the bump stuff. I'm really looking forward to digging out my m&s maternity pj's as they are so comfy!

Look out for the sales of maternity wear to get some bargains (Next seems to have them quite often).

Happygojo86 · 19/08/2016 08:43

I am using my over the bump stuff already , but I have residual bump from DD, plus I'm a fatty bum bum Grin. I find over the bump mat jeans look better on me than normal jeans.... No muffin top. I found maternity bottoms essential personally, not loads but a few key items like jeans and work trousers. A lot of my normal tops I got away with. I found if I was trying to make non maternity fit in the 2nd half of pregnancy like jeggings etc I just felt really uncomfortable and very 'pregnant'. A line dresses worked for me too teamed with mat leggings.

wornoutboots · 19/08/2016 08:44

wish me luck for later, ladies. I've a repeat early scan to see if the foetal pole has grown or if I'm going to have to have a d&c and bow out of the "having babies" thing....

Carolann8584 · 19/08/2016 08:48

Good luck worn and anyone else having scans today xx

Zebra00 · 19/08/2016 08:48

Ive started using maternity clothes I've defiantly got more of a round Tum this time. Last time I had no bump until 20 weeks plus and my full term bump was tiny.
I've got a few bits from last time but more this time from eBay and had some close friends who know have given me bits too. I've started going into bits as can't do my normal clothes up or if I can I get tummy ache from it being too tight. I've got a selection of under bump and over bump jeans, maternity leggings and I'm planning on using normal tops as I can replace them easily enough. I've also got a few dresses and a few maternity tops for when I have a bigger bump.

Lovely to see some have started to have scans! Ours is 3 weeks today when I should be 12 and half if it's right dates.
I'm a lot more anxious this time round compared to last time as still not got any sickness ect. However have been experiencing really bad headaches that I didn't get last time and my hair has turned into a greasy mop. I can wash it in the morning and by evening it looks like it hasn't been washed at all. Again last time I went from washing my hair from every other day to once a week it was lovely. Hoping that give a few weeks that happens again!

Also have a boozy afternoon tea hen do tomorrow! Going down the I can't drink route because of antibiotics as I won't be driving to it so can't use that excuse!

purplesmiler · 19/08/2016 08:57

Good luck worn and all the ladies having scans today.

Thank goodness it's Friday, I just want one day this weekend of lounging around the house as I feel tired. I've noticed my belly is firm I'm a bigger lady anyway but it's not as squidgy lol.

Gardencentregroupie · 19/08/2016 09:03

Good luck for the scans today, especially wornoutboots.

NameChange30 · 19/08/2016 09:03

Good luck to you too wornoutboots xx

Butterpuff · 19/08/2016 09:13

Good luck with scans today. Really hope you have good news boots

're maternity stuff. I got away with larger normal stuff most of my last pregnancy. Only needed real maternity clothes for the last 8 weeks or so. And I'm super tight so I bought my few bits second hand on eBay. This time I still have a belly from before so will be needeing more bits. I'm going back to the bay I think.

AngelBlue12 · 19/08/2016 09:26

I like Vertbaudet for maternity stuff. I got rid of all mine as we weren't planning on having anymore - doh!

Hope your scan goes well worn

AngelBlue12 · 19/08/2016 09:28

Oh and normally I'm a full fat coke a day girl but just the thought of it now makes me feel queasy, the smell of lemonade does too.
