Dozygirl · 18/08/2016 09:31

at least I know I'm only going back for 6 months that was meant to say.

Tutuloves · 18/08/2016 09:42

All the best Daisy, keep us posted.
I've got sooo much to do today as we are away for the weekend from tomorrow but I'm so done in that I've sneaked upstairs to have a quick lie down while the kids are with the babysitter downstairs (aka CBeebies)
How is it only 9.45am?
Right must muster up strength and carry on.

Carolann8584 · 18/08/2016 10:18

Finding it hard to contain myself today, want to shout across the office I'm carrying a beany

Want to send a group text I'm carrying a beany

Only told parents so far, I keep having exciting news to tell people, I got engaged recently everyone said that's great news(I have bigger news) House went on the market yesterday everyone said that's great news (I'VE GOT BIGGER NEWS) itching to tell people. Phew this is helping Grin

Must wait for Scan (which I don't have a date for yetSad)

Hello

I'm new to this group so I know I'm late but wondered if I could join in please?
I'm expecting my 2nd baby on 19th March x

Carolann8584 · 18/08/2016 10:38

Welcome Amelia

Dustycorners · 18/08/2016 10:42

Hi Amelia, welcome!

Tutu I'm also really tired at the moment. Working from home today and just had a nap, despite only being up since 6.45 Blush

NameChange30 · 18/08/2016 11:00

Amelia Hello and welcome!

Carol You don't have to wait for your scan. There's no law or rule that says you should! DH and I have told close family and friends, and it's definitely made things easier having people to talk to. It's hard enough not saying anything at work! Maybe you could tell one or two people that you trust to be discreet until you decide to tell everyone else?

namechange we made the decision not to tell anyone until the first scan then told my OH I HAD to tell my mum so he told his. We have told his dad but I've not had chance to tell mine, he works shifts and want to tell him in person. It's nice to talk to my mum though, I'm glad I didn't wait to tell her, she's had 4 pregnancy, resulting in 3 children so she's had lots of experience.

I didn't mean I must wait for scan as a rule just as something we decided together. Saw MW yesterday she said we should get our scan date between the 30/08-10/09 so not too long to wait.

Tutuloves · 18/08/2016 12:09

Ah dusty glad I'm not the only one napping.
I must admit I'm vey much a tell family and friends person. My logic is that if anything were to happen to re the baby then I know Id want to turn to people straight away, I'm not private like that, I'm a very open person. This time I did manage to keep it to myself for 8 weeks though which is very good going for me.

Carolann8584 · 18/08/2016 13:01

I want a nap, soooo warm out, just sat in my car for a bit at lunch and could've easily put seat flat and had a nap. Smile

MrsMushrooms · 18/08/2016 13:15

I'm just checking the thread while getting ready for a nap :D

I'm not as tired as I was at the start but I still need a daily nap or a very early night - all my energy is gone!

bumblebeekaty · 18/08/2016 14:19

I've got my scan tomorrow (Friday) too! Today is going very slowly, but on the plus side I'm getting loads of work done. Probably as nervous about my first ever blood test as I am about the actual scan.

Hope all the ladies that haven't had good news are ok x

Carolann8584 · 18/08/2016 14:30

How soon after seeing the MW did you get your letters about your scans?

I'm very impatient I know. Only saw her yesterday lol

NameChange30 · 18/08/2016 14:52

Carol about 6 days later, most definitely not the following day Grin

daisy I hope your scan has gone well

bumble I found the beginning of this week dragged so badly too. Try not to worry about your blood test. I posted on here earlier this week about my bad experience with my first blood test at booking in and yesterday's after the scan was absolutely fine. I haven't even got a tiny bruise where last time I had a huge one. So it might not be as bad as you think 😊

Good luck to bumble and namechange for your scans tomorrow.

I think I'm also now more open to the idea of the gtt after yesterday's blood test dusty

carolann I had my booking in on the Friday and got my scan date through the following Saturday. 20 week scan is much better to arrange here (if you're impatient like me 😂), I just had to ring the hospital when I got my green notes back after yesterday's scan and make the appointment. They ask you to ring as soon as possible to make sure you get a suitable date, I'm glad I rang yesterday as our local hospital was already booked up for the weeks when i should have mine so I've had to go for the big hospital half an hour away where I'll give birth.

Happygojo86 · 18/08/2016 15:05

I had my booking in on Monday and I got my letter this morning for my scan. (3.30pm on the 31st August!)

What are people doing with their other children for the scan? We haven't told family about the pregnancy and don't want to until after the scan, plus MIL is busy that day Confused. I've asked a friend if she can watch DD for a couple of hours but she has a 3yo and a 1yo and her own life stuff going on at the moment. I don't really have anyone else Confused. OH doesn't want us to take her but I don't think we'll have much choice. If we strapped her into the buggy and gave her snacks to keep her quiet, surely that'd be fine? She just turned 1 last week

Carolann8584 · 18/08/2016 15:12

Happy yay for Scan date, I will try and be more patient Smile

Butterpuff · 18/08/2016 15:17

I had a feeling that children were not allowed at the scan happy in case they distract the sonographer. You might want to check on case your DH ends up having to wait outside with your DC. Though that may be different depending on which hospital. I've told my parents so they will sit for us.

Beautytobe · 18/08/2016 16:01

Phew! Am not the only one feeling like a bloater!

I have such low energy today but really trying as my 2yr old loves playing with me...I want to lie on the couch watching bk to be Gilmore girls or AHS

One week til my next scan chances of anything going wrong are really low yeah?!

I don't think will relax til I feel that baby in my tummy or have it in my arms

Melmam · 18/08/2016 16:22

Hi All,

Hope I'm not too late to join in. I'm 10+4 2nd pregnancy due 14th March my first baby is 9 months old Shock so I'm a little nervous but also really excited and looking forward to my first scan.. I forgot how bad the morning sickness.

Carolann8584 · 18/08/2016 16:33

Hi Melmam welcome Smile

MissClarke86 · 18/08/2016 16:39

Has anyone else been having headaches? Really bad one on Monday with neck ache and since then it's come and gone but as I can't have ibuprofen and paracetamol does NOTHING it's driving me mad!

SuperDuperJezebel · 18/08/2016 17:03

Yep MissClarke... I reckon I wake with headaches 3/7 days a week. Paracetamol is pitiful!

SuperDuperJezebel · 18/08/2016 17:03

Often what helps for me is a Diet Coke... Trying to have less caffeine but it's the only thing that knocks it on the head!

MissClarke86 · 18/08/2016 17:13

That's worth a try thanks! It feels very pressured and only comes on in the evenings now.

I've stopped drinking tea and coffee because I just don't fancy it but only ever had 1 cup a day before so can't see that it's a caffeine withdrawal, but that said I am craving full fat Coke lately and I never normally do.
