Aprilmeadow - just noticed your little one is the same age as mine - Sam will be 2 on 4 Apr. No 2 (another boy) not due till 25th may.

Do you know what you're having?

Frenchsmallfry · 30/01/2007 21:11

notsolilkel, wasn't me with the hair cut last week, sorry, all though I wouldn't mind having it done everyweek, would be very footballers wifeish. One small problem... not married to a rich footballer......dammn, where did I go wrong??

I do have a posh spice bob however, BUT SHE got it off of me!!!!!! I've had mine for about 5 years now, way longer than her. Copy cow it needs re-shaping every 4-5 weeks, so a bit of a pain but I love it.

Night all..........xxx

Oy, FSF you were going to bed hours ago!!!! Also, my bf's husband worked at Tylney!!! Scary!

Am desparately trying to get rid of germs so i get to meet FSF!

Juicylucytoo · 31/01/2007 09:11

Just wanted to log my membership to the Black Books Fan Club - never watched in on TV, but have series 1 and 2 on DVD. Love it.

Can't be ar*ed to work anymore and still have 3 months to go!! Buggar. Pod is lying funny at the moment so everytime I lean forward at my desk he kicks me in the belly or the ribs, I think because I am squashing him! Poor lamb. Great excuse to go home and do nothing in my opinion.

Hope you start to feel better soon AM.

FSF - are you sure you live in France. You seem to spend all your time over here

Cinnam - defo do both NCT and council classes for potential new friends. All my friends swear by them for meeting other mums.

susanjayneh · 31/01/2007 09:41

Frenchsmallfry

I lived mainly in Swanage but pop back to Bournemouth a lot as ll my pals are there....

Frenchsmallfry · 31/01/2007 10:10

My Dad sent this as an e-mail to me this morning. Thought I'd share it with you.

Before I was a Mum

Before I was a Mum I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunisation.
Before I was a Mum - I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.

I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mum I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mum I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mum.

Before I was a Mum - I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.

I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mum - I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, The joy, The love, The heartache, The wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mum.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mum.

And before I was a Grandma, I didn't know that all those "Mum" feelings more than doubled when you see that little bundle being held by "your baby"...

And remember that behind every successful mother... Is a basket of dirty laundry.

Hello again everybody - Flew how for a couple of days to spend some time with my parents, but looking at the number of posts here it looks like I've been gone for weeks.

Work is also very busy at the moment and I feel that they have stopped accepting my "pregnancy brain" excuse for forgetting things so now I better start concentrating.

How is everybody's bump this week. It's my first and at 23 weeks it's really popped out in the last couple of days. It seems to grow everyday. DH felt it kick for the first time last thursday. It was so sweet.

Oops boss is back.. hope to catch up later.

ShowOfHands · 31/01/2007 10:33

This week cannot possibly get any worse.

One of my cats has gone missing. DH let her out yesterday at 8am and she hasn't come home.

I've just made a poster at work and can't stop crying. I'm supposed to be running a library and everytime I think about it tears start rolling down my cheeks.

Throw in the fact that I feel awful anwyay, sore throat etc and I'm a sight.

I'm pathetic and hormonal today.

Frenchsmallfry · 31/01/2007 10:48

Oh SOH, Try not to panic just yet. Has she been done???? It is season at the moment. Beanz has done this to me more than once since we've had him. He went for 3 nights last year, I was distraught. He then just appeared trotting up the garden in the afternoon. Little bugger!! I do hope she is there waiting for you when you get home.

JL, I do come back to the UK a fair bit. About 4 times a year usually. I am one of 7, so have lots or bruvs and sis to visit, only have Mum and Dad here with us and a HUGE family in the UK. Next week will be the last until July when we are coming back for a wedding, H is a page boy and M a bridesmaid, how exciting.....

AM i know you are lurking, are you supposed to be working?

OP posts:
ShowOfHands · 31/01/2007 11:24

She hasn't been done yet, we were taking her next week. This is completely unlike her. She never leaves the garden usually and we live next to a river. I spent all night awake or dreaming that she had drowned or been run over.

I know it's ridiculous, she's just a cat but I'm devastated and our other cat just can't cope and wouldn't eat this morning.

JellyBellyBump · 31/01/2007 11:44

OH SOH, i'm so sorry to hear about your cat. We've got 2 ourselves and they're still quite young. I know everybody says the same but try not to worry. Our little black one did it last summer I panicked all day and night. She did turn up the following day after we got back from work, rolling around on the floor as if the last 36 hours never happened. Does she have a collar with your telephone number on it?

cinnamontam · 31/01/2007 11:47

SOH - every time my beastie's have done this to me they have come back. She'll be back...I'm sure of it.

Can you leave work a bit early or nip home at lunchtime? Wish i could come over and help you find her. You just know she will trot back in, completely unconcerned while you are in a heap on the floor

twelveyeargap · 31/01/2007 13:21

SOH I completely understand, but have to chime in and agree that it's not unusual for cats to go wandering. We had various cats over the years and they all did it. They go nicking food from other cats and sh'gging around and nonchanantly arrive back with their nose in the air, completely oblivious to your distress. You know what cars are like!

Hopefully she'll be back very soon. x

scootermum · 31/01/2007 13:32

SOH-I would go home-its prefectly valid to be distraught over moggy.Make up an excuse.I hope she turns up, I really do..Our cat nearly died when I was pg with dd and it nearly sent me over the edge..is she chipped?

FSF-Trusty old new look for the top-dont want to spend loads on pg clothes so get my fix in there or Primark. However cant go in without buying some cheap shoes as well so actually its not working out any cheaper than posher shopping..

Im having my hair done on Sat as well, cant wait as it has taken on a life of its own at the back-which for some reason grows at twice the speed as the front.DD is having her first little trim at the same time..que screaming fit I shoudnt wonder-but it needs doing she can hardly see for it in her eyes..She was brushing her own hair this morning with her little brush.Sooo sweet...

TYG-I loved hotel Babylon as well-are they making any more do you know?

Cinamatom-we moved a month before dd was born and I was just like NSL-met loads of people through NCT and other classes with the baby and I too have never been happier-have more mates now then ever before-in fact am going out tomorrow with some-im sure it will be the same for you..London can be a lonely place sometimes I think though-I hated it when I first moved down-I was a very little fish in a very big ocean and very miserable...In fact..

All London area ladies-why dont we have a meet up?-would be lovely to see you all in person and compare bumps and eat some cake-we could meet in the middle somewhere nice?!But how would we recognise each other I wonder, hmmm....

Charley-well im going home at the weekend so will keep a look out for your nan!Its so odd-the whole world, (exaggerates wildly!) is linked by Holymoorside.Perhaps its on some lay lines or something..Perhaps its the centre of the universe!!Or perhaps not...

Off to tell some staff off now.Quite looking forward to having a justified- for- once rant.My poor dh has really got it in the ear of late....

SOH let us know if anything happens re the cat..

ShowOfHands · 31/01/2007 13:37

Thanks all. Seem to be making a habit of this moaning lark this week.

I can't nip home unfortunately (1hr bus ride home and I only get an hour for lunch). I've just fallen out with DH as well as he thinks I'm being a bit hormonal about it all. Well, I probably am, but she's our cat and I miss her. She wouldn't fall in the river would she? She's fascinated by water but I don't think she'd be that silly. We have tried putting a collar on her several times, but she always gets out of it. My poor cat... where has she gone?

Going to go out tonight with a box of cat biscuits, post some flyers and shout for her.

I feel rotten, not helped by lack of sleep but I could just curl up and give up today.

ShowOfHands · 31/01/2007 13:38

Idiotically, no she's not chipped.

I'm such an idiot.

aprilmeadow · 31/01/2007 13:42

I want to know who inserted razor blades into my throat in the night........ ouch!

Still at least i am not at work!!

SOH - my darling cats were always buggering off somehwere. We had a big woods behind our last house and they could be gone for days. I wouldnt sleep until i heard the cat flap go. We have just one now as Fidget, our number one cat 'left home' to live with her ginger tom boyfriend Lenny the week after we got married. Her daugher Rascal is still around and so blinking annoying at times.. Then there was Rascals son Monkey, who was the runt of the litter (7 in total) and he had to be put down the weekend after i went on maternity leave. They are just like children!

charleymouse · 31/01/2007 14:16

No NSL you did get a mention about your strop unless I have got confused (highly likely).

Will read rest of posts now but did not want NSL to be upset .

JellyBellyBump · 31/01/2007 14:46

Oh dear, I've just eaten half a bag of Tesco's fruit pastilles and I think I've given Bump a sugar rush. It's kicking like mad - was planning to get a coffee but I think I'd better wait a while

notsolilKel · 31/01/2007 15:05

helloooo

am a bit giddy from mini shopping spree. D@mn that Cath Kidston - had to get the new laundry baskets (since I do so much of the bloody stuff as of late) and frame bag to cheer myself up. I think it's working

Hotel Babylon website says 'new series coming soon.' Nice, but a bit vague...when???

Charleymouse, entirely my fault. Stupid pg brain didn't translate NSL into notsolilKel. Sorry

SOH desperate for update on your kitty. If mine had ever left home I'd have had a fit. To be pg on top of it, well, you're justified!

Aprilmeadow - take loads of herbal tea with spoons of honey in it. It might help!

Scooter- London meetup def in the works. We could all put a rose in our lapel (or perhaps something less idiotic). Is first week of May good for everyone?

twelveyeargap · 31/01/2007 15:07

Scooter - I'm the same with New Look shoes. I bring a single pair out of the bag and say "Only £25! Bargain!" to DH and then go and hide the other two pairs I bought. Likely to be in the same style, but in different colours. I'm a wagon for doing that.

It was lilkel who liked Hotel Babylon. I've never seen it I'm afraid!

Can't wait to get Sky again on Sat week. We haven't had it since we moved out of the previous place to last in November. Have missed Lost, the end of the CSI and CSI Miami series, a couple of episodes of ER, two of the new Desperate Housewives. Even though some of those are on "normal" tv, I still always get last dibs on the remote, or fall asleep before they start. I NEED Sky+. That said, we have watched rather a lot of informative and educational programmes on the old "public service broadcast" stations known as the BBC.

Poor Charleymouse with her amazing "mention everyone" post (better than I would have done) and she still feels bad! I think you did very well CM. Reckon lilkel just didn't realise you'd shortened her to NSL. Am I right?

Scooter - Am SO on for a London meet. Though, belive it or not, am away this weekend, having stuff delivered to/ done in the house w/e of the 10th. Going on my holleee-days on the 18th, back 24th... Then the next weekend is March! If anyone is free on the 17th Feb, then I could meet somewhere central that day... No plans for March except for the 16th to 18th.

Oops. Got to leave work in 20 mins for my GP appt. Better finish up my work stuff. I'm in Ireland tomorrow and Thurs. Byeee

twelveyeargap · 31/01/2007 15:10

Don't think we'll need roses by then LilKel. We'll all be MAHUSIVE by then!

"Oh look, there's another pregnant lady. YooHoo! MN meet up over here!"

Can't imagine I have anything booked yet for the start of May.

twelveyeargap · 31/01/2007 15:11

Oh, will any of the London based ladies have possibly have already given birth by first weekend of May?? Scary.

Ok, ok. Really going now.

LupinsBigLump · 31/01/2007 15:20
