Hi Ladies

Am trying to keep up but am soooo tired and a bit deflated at the mo, sure its just hormones and lack of sleep, am waking up for about 3hrs a night, mixture of not being able to get comfy, money worries and consultant appt next week, baby is moving lots not too worried about that, just dont want to have to go a whole nother month with not being checked, especially this month which is when things started going wrong with Morgan

Thanks for all your posts re dps job, something will turn up soon, he is self employed so just waiting on return phone calls,

LGT oops at ds's hair, what a shame, hope the lovely curls grow back soon

LW hope your spd is bearable, at least you know what it is

SOH lol at your dream, sounds like you need some retail therapy

Juicylucytoo · 29/01/2007 16:01

Hallo one and all. Couldn't catch up with all the chat as there's so much.

My head is killing me. Really fed up with all these headaches. Ruined most of my w/e. Got a stiff neck to boot this time too. Yoohoo !

12YG - where did you buy in the end. We've just bought a house in Bethnal Green, although we won't be moving in until July

Went pushchair test-driving at the weekend. The favourites are:

loola

and

\link {http://www.groovystyle.co.uk/productpages/icandy/apple.htm\icandy}

Although haven't testdriven the icandy yet. Need to go to Islington at the weekend for a go as there's a shop there which sells them.

Also booked my NCT class for March, which is a bit early, but only class where DH can attend both classes (think I'm more happy about that than he!)

Now very skint. January is such a crap month moneywise...

Juicylucytoo · 29/01/2007 16:04

oh buggar

icandy

twelveyeargap · 29/01/2007 16:06

Hey JL. That's a bummer you can't move in sooner. Bought in Muswell Hill in the end - nowhere near our original target area of London Fields/ Victoria Park. Saw this house by accident and decided to go and look.

Don't know if you saw my earlier posts about the icandy. It's lovely (I test-drove), but needing to take the seat off to fold it took it off my radar. Other than that, it would be perfect.

largeginandtonic · 29/01/2007 16:24

Afternoon all, am back from school run. Have sent dt 1 out to play, dt 2 is reading quietly, dd is being a right pain in the behind and both ds #3 and 4 are watching the tweenies stuffing banannas.....

Im eating jammy dodgers and drinking a pint of cherry diet coke mmmmmmm

Sorry you feel rough AM, hope you get better soon!

Lwatkins, im thinking the red food colouring you buy in the cake shops (paste form not little bottle) poured in to the ketchup. Theu would never know until they were seen, ooohhh it would be soooo funny. It takes forever to come out of skin. Do it my girl, just dont get it on you while sabotaging the bottle!

TYG work, shmork.......talk to us instead

FSF how was your cheese n bread? That would give me such bad heartburn! I would eat it anyway of course. Im going on Tuesday (tom) after the school run, so wont be around to see you Just cant hack it anymore and am quite relieved now i have decided to go at last. I have a little countdown in my head now.

I plan to meet pebble tomorrow (where are you pebble?) in town, come home pack the car and do the school run then leave. Should reach Plymouth by 7.30ish. Hooray!

twelveyeargap · 29/01/2007 16:32

Oh lovely. Will the kids be "sick" for the rest of the week? Assume they'll miss a bit of school? DD is "sick" Thurs and Fri whilst we're in Ireland. I can't face the hassle from the school about term time holidays. Last school seemed to think I should turn down a good freind's (who is also DD's godmother) wedding invitation rather than take her out of school for a couple of days. I thought it was a bit unreasonable - perhaps teachers think otherwise. Oh well.

Anyway, it's more important for your kids to have a sane mother, IMO!

I'd love some jammy dodgers. 25 mins til home time. Hmm, maybe I'll visit the tuck shop.

ShowOfHands · 29/01/2007 16:44

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

[frustrated crying]

So, when you're selling your house and the purchasers discover that the extension, porch and attic conversion have no planning permission or building regs (and are of sub-standard quality) and they ask you for a measly £5,000 reduction to reflect the added cost of refurbishment, what do you do?

A)acknowledge that your solicitor, the estate agent, the surveyors, an architect and the purchasers are right and agree to said reduction

B)throw an utter paddy, refuse to budge and put the house back on the market at a whopping £35,000 more than the original asking price?

So, the vendor has backed out. And is demanding £35,000 more than original price (which everybody including the estate agent agrees was £5,000 too much anyway).

I'm 5 months pg, living in rented accommodation with no room for a baby, we've lost money on solicitors fees, mortgage arrangement fees and surveys and I'm at work and trying to keep a lid on the number of swear words I want to shout out.

Will log on tonight...

largeginandtonic · 29/01/2007 16:45

They will indeed be 'sick' for the rest of the week. I have ummmed and aahed for ages but have come to the conclusion that it is better to have a sane mummy too! I do feel bad as im taking them out of school in few weeks for dh passing out parade. They will miss school from the tuesday that week too, then it is half term! Such a bad mummy.

After that half term they only have a short term of 4 or 5 weeks then it's the easter hols, 2 weeks off. When they go back to school i will be 36 weeks pregnant..... Seems a little too close for me.

largeginandtonic · 29/01/2007 16:53

Oh no SOH, poor you! What an awful thing to happen, wish i could dash over give you a hug and bring fourteen bars of necessary chocolate with me. Nasty man, what on earth is he thinking? Will you have to start your search all over again?

ShowOfHands · 29/01/2007 16:55

Yes, start again from scratch.

Scooter he was called Scott Glover btw. I wonder if he'll sell me a house.

Juicylucytoo · 29/01/2007 16:56

Oh God SOH - that sucks. Really feel for you. F**ing vendors. Stay strong. Stand your ground and let the estate agent do their job. It's their job to convince them they're being a wanker. If they can't do it, then you're better off out of it.

Once a shi**y vendor, always one. He would have been a prick later in terms of exchange / completion etc anyway, trust me.

Totally understand your frustration.

Juicylucytoo · 29/01/2007 16:58

12YG - yes remember you'd said something, but now it's coming back to me. That probably puts the loola back in the lead for me too then...

It's so hard to decide when there's so much money involved.

twelveyeargap · 29/01/2007 17:01

Oh SOH! I really, really, really feel sorry for you. I can't tell you.

This won't make you feel ANY better right this minute - particularly over the lost time and money, but fwiw; when I lost my "dream" houses, one after the other, it GENUINELY was for the best. I didn't think I could at the time, but I found something better. First house turned out to be ridiculously overpriced, and second would have been a "compromise" compared to what I have now.

And we were renting and also were having rented house sold from underneath us. All is not lost - really.

Poor, poor you. I cried and cried when I heard we lost the second place. Don't be afraid to do the same. You get really emotionally attached to places. I completely understand.

Gotta go. DD has left her keys at school, silly moo. Now sitting on doorstep. Have sent her to mooch around Woolworths til I get back.

Frenchsmallfry · 29/01/2007 17:31

Oh SOH that really sucks, I'm sooo sorry, you must be gutted and frustrated. It's such a big time gamble buying a house. Don't they realise they are messing with peoples lifes. It shouldn't be allowed!!

lg&t, Bread and cheese was good thanks, I'm so pleased you are going to get a way for a bit, I hope it takes some pressure off you and you are able to chill out a little. Feel sad for you . We'll miss you on here.
I am not in the Uk this week. Not leaving France till Saturday, it was Thursday next week the 8th feb I was in Lee. See how you feel then.

LW; liking the idea of red food coulouring in the ketchup. hehe.

OP posts:
cinnamontam · 29/01/2007 17:52

SOH - that is so completely shit. I'm so sorry mate. Horrible to find out that stuff at work as well. You can't rant and rave the way you need to!!

notsolilKel · 29/01/2007 18:18

SOH sending ((((HUGS)))) your way. It's my nightmare - every time we move, it seems something just about goes wrong. I got so upset last time (I was 13 wks pg) that my blood pressure went up and I threw a total strop that scared my DH into chasing down our vendor till the deal was done. Don't mess with a pg woman!!!!! Good luck x

twelveyeargap · 29/01/2007 20:13

Eventually you will find very small solace in the fact that either the numpty vendor won't get his inflated asking price, or just being smug that you weren't the numpty that paid
it.

We got outbid on "Dream House #1" when we said we wouldn't pay more than Asking Price - 20K as we didn't think it was worth more. Vendor went with a bid of 5K more than ours, but buyer in a chain. Chain fell through (after we had been gazumpt on "Dream House #2") and when we went back for a second look, we thought, "Phew! Can't believe how lucky we were that we were outbid. This place is actually crap. We can do MUCH better."

Much to my pleasure, I saw the property on the agent's website a few weeks later for 5K less than our final offer on it. Serves the greedy bugger right. For around the same money we now have 2 additional bedrooms, a garden 4 times the size and in a much nicer area (albeit further from work), with great schools near us.

It WILL be ok. It WILL be ok. It WILL be ok. Take a couple of days to get over the shock and then take a fresh look at the market. Look outside your target areas too, as you never know what you might find.

scootermum · 29/01/2007 20:25

SOH that is a real bugger. So sorry.I cant believe the way some people behave when selling houses. They get the devil in them..I hope you get over the loss and find an even nicer house in the end..O its just not what you need right now..Whearabouts do you want to live-I will start scanning the Loot and such if you like and make you up a shortlist..
We have a second estate agent coming round to value ours tomorrow with a view to putting on the market but after our experience last time im really not sure im up to all that again until the baby is born and everything is settled. It will be a terrible squish in our little cottage but think might opt for that rather than go through all the selling and house hunting again. We are another pair whose moves always go awry.
Why, is Scott Glover an estate agent now?!I know him!!Well I did then..that is so odd.Didnt his Dad have very long hair?We all thought he was quite cool but all the stuffy pants in the village thought he lowered the tone or some such..And they lived in the bungalow on the end..How exciting-we may have met in a former life.Sorry I digress as I dare say you are not in the mood for being excited.

Juicylucy-ooh where in Islington is the shope that sells the buggies?I could go and have a nebby in my lunch time..Have almost convinced dh on my phil and teds (in apple green. He gets his bonus at the end of Feb-cant come soon enough and I am playing the guilt card on him as he is off this weekend for a boys weekend away in the Lakes..grr what I wouldnt give for a weekend away in the lakes.Or anywhere for the matter...

I hope I didnt insult anyone by saying that about Dalston-ive no room to talk.We lived in Tottenham before we moved out to the sticks and that was certainly no picnic. Its just I happen to have been mugged twice there on the high road-both when I was doing the banking for work so Ive got a little hoodoo about it..The other bits of it are lovely I hear..

largegandt-am glad you are going but we will miss you.But you deserve the rest.I did miss the post in the end as got stuck on the A10, (My nemesis)till 6.25.But in many ways thats probably for the best as what if they hadnt arrived before you left?-you would have got home to find some mouldy KK's and that would be a tragedy indeed-let me know when you are back and will get you some more-have even purchased a large tupperware that will accomodate 10 as was worried about the box getting squished...Now what will I do with the 10 I have here?
Bet the kids are loving the impromptu holiday as well..
Can hear dh on the phone upstairs to the SKY people as there is some issue with our modem or something. He is getting very irate.Might have to give him a doughnut to shut him up..

twelveyeargap · 29/01/2007 20:39

No offence about Dalston. Sure pretty much every area of London (and probably every other place bar sleepy villages in the sticks) has a dodgy element about it. If I had moved to Dalston I would be smug about the East London Line extension and the HUAGE property value rise I would be expecting. I expect anyone in East London will be laughing to the bank before long. Swings and roundabouts. I'm sure nobody would take offence.

scootermum · 29/01/2007 21:00

Have just managed to put some pics on my profile-with thanks to dh..There is one of me with bump, and screaming dd in corner-she wanted to be picked up..and one of dd which I think she looks very sweet on that I took at the weekend during the 5 mins she wasnt going ballistic..
Off to bed now as done in.night one and all, speak tomorrow..

twelveyeargap · 29/01/2007 21:07

Oooh, Scooter! You fabulous thing you! I have no idea why (must be some odd things you've said about yourself), but you are NOTHING like I expected. Not sure what I was expecting, but I think it was someone frumpy! Ha! Sorry! Maybe it's because you said you worked with old people...

I lurrve that top. Where'sitfrom? Where'sitfrom? Where'sitfrom? Where'sitfrom? Huh? Huh?

Look at me getting all excited. I need to get out more. Drink at the Maid anyone??

twelveyeargap · 29/01/2007 21:08

DD is gorgeous by the way!

twelveyeargap · 29/01/2007 21:09

You've made me consider cutting my hair again. (Yes in the last 25 seconds). I used to have a bob...

twelveyeargap · 29/01/2007 21:11
largeginandtonic · 29/01/2007 21:21

Scooter nooooooooo the KK's, why oh why has someone not invented teleportation for donuts?????

Torture, thank you so much for thinking of me though Im hoping this break will mean i can chill out a bit. Will be an even bigga biffa by the time i return, my mother and MIL will be stuffing me at every opportunity!

You look fab btw, nice top and your dd is soooo cute. She is so little! You def need a phil and teds, they are the best.

I have had a bowl of rice crispies for tea, may have a bagel and cream cheese too in a mo. Not feeling full yet. Shoulders have dropped as i feel calmer, think planning the trip has eased my stress levels.....
