Bad LW, 1 muffin down - 1 to go lol! This babies goona come out addicted to cookies and muffins, bad mummy!

Juicylucytoo · 02/02/2007 11:49

SkyTV - can't you slide out early and take a taxi home? Sounds like for torture than fun.

SKYTVADDICT · 02/02/2007 11:52

Was thinking about driving as not driking anyway but bus already booked and paid for and we are first pick up and last drop off. Sure will be ok. Hopefully will be able to leave work really early to rest before having to get ready. Boss leaving at 2.30 for a massage anyway so hopefully I won't be long after him.

LW - my baby is going to be addicted to fresh cream chocolate eclairs/fresh cream choux pastry etc. Can't get enough of them. Luckily have found Asda sell them in ones, rather than the M&S fours!

aprilmeadow · 02/02/2007 12:19

Have uploaded a wedding picture of me & dh. I am sure i hvae nicer ones, just not taken by the professional photographer. So disappointed with them. Oh well.

Juicylucytoo · 02/02/2007 13:50

Have only just managed my scan piccies.

Need to find a photo file which is small enough to be accepted on mn. so far no luck. I might have to turn up at the meet incognito at this rate!

cinnamontam · 02/02/2007 14:05

SOH - I know you are out there. What is the cussie news? Has the wench turned up yet?

ShowOfHands · 02/02/2007 14:08

Not turned up.

[givinguphope]

cinnamontam · 02/02/2007 14:13

Bugger - Bratio went for 3.5 days once. Turned up of course.

Can you and your DH go for some gentle walks near your place over your weekend? Is she particularly nimble? My fat cat got stuck in someones garden (been looking for her for 2 days) and I had to go round the front of their house, once I'd figured out which one it was and go into their garden and get her.

notsolilKel · 02/02/2007 14:25

hellooo - SOH sounds like you're having a bad day, sorry (((HUGS)))

was wondering if anyone would share a bit of their (planned) c-section experience? I'm having one and sortof feel like I know you, so value your thoughts here...

ShowOfHands · 02/02/2007 14:30

Unfortunately DH works stupid o'clock to silly o'clock at a weekend and I'm finding it hard to wander around on my own with gastroenteritis. Maybe I could take a bucket with me.

Plus, DH has just informed me that he has invited MIL over tomorrow to 'keep me company' while he's at work. She wants to go shopping and house hunting and I haven't got the energy.

Just want pusscat to come home and to sleep and watch films.

Sadly I'm at work so instead I have to catalogue books and check spines for wear...

JellyBellyBump · 02/02/2007 14:33

Oh SOH, please don't give up hope. I'm sure she'll be back soon.

SKYTV - I have similar pains/cramps down the side of my bump and my midwife/GP told me yesterday that it's probably due the baby growing and pushing on your ovaries. She recommended using a hot water bottle as it's not always possible to spend the entire evening in a hot bath.

Lwatkins · 02/02/2007 16:50

Afternooooon all
Well today im with the travel insurance people who have told me they're not giving me any compo for both my cancelled flights at xmas Oh....we'll see about that! And i quote:

'Having reviewed your claim, I would refer you to the following policy terms and conditions in your policy document:
These state that cover is provided by the policy only when the flight, international train or sailing you are booked on is delayed at it's departure point by more than 12 hours from the time shown in your travel itinerary (plans), as a result of strike, weather conditions, electrical or mechanical breakdown.
Unfortunately the delay you experienced was not due to one of the reasons stated above. Based on this I regret that I am unable to assist you with your claim on this occasion.'

Well, isn't that just dandy! One, my flight'S weren't 'delayed' they were cancelled and second, the reasons for the cancellations was because the runway at Bristol had just been resurfaced and was unsafe to land on when WET. Therefore, TECHNICALLY my flights were cancelled because the RAIN (ie a weather condition) meant that landing would not have been safe! Are these people stooopid, i said all this in my claims letter!

However this has surprisingly not dampened my mood and am still feeling as jolly as i did when i woke up

SOH, sorry about kitty you poor thing, she'll turn up when she see's fit - all cat's are like it

Pebblemum · 02/02/2007 17:07

Afternoon all just thought i would show my face you know what i mean, before i go away for the weekend. havent been on here for a couple of days and I expect by the time i catch up on all the gossip from the past few days and from over the weekend it will be halfway through next weeks thread! Not that im saying you lot chat a lot lol

Dh took me pram shopping today. It was more to see the prams first hand rather than to actually buy one. We only had time to look at two shops but it was fun. Dh liked the babystyle one ive been going on about and also a three wheeled one. I liked quite a few. The babystle lux is really nice and even looks good with the dwivel wheel chassis which is cheaper than the normal one supplied. I also saw a babystyle latina pram, it was gorgeous but when dh heard it was £450 he went a bit pale and walked away. We did see one pram though that was £950, no way would I pay that. MIl thinks we would be mad paying out a lot of money on a babystyle pram as it will be bulky and awkward to put in the car, which i see her point its just that they are so lovely. I may consider buying a 2nd hand one or cheaper version just to satsify myself and then buy a cheaper more practical one for when we need to be in and out of the car. If i was on my first baby i would say sod it and buy the £450 one because i would use it again later on but as this is my last i cant really justify spending that amount of money on it (unless i win lots of money all of a sudden, bingo anyone?)

aprilmeadow · 02/02/2007 17:07

LW - my dh works in the travel trade...... i have copied your message to him to see if there is another way round it

aprilmeadow · 02/02/2007 17:10

LW - Dh says 'As it is insurance it is governed by the FSA. She should go to them.' In no way is this a plug, but if you go to his website and post on their forum there will be people there who can help you, or at least give you advice. www.holidaywatchdog.com

Lwatkins · 02/02/2007 17:21

Oh thank you AM, would pass you a muffin but have eaten them all

scootermum · 02/02/2007 17:30

Hi all,
SKYTV-I had similar pains to those you are describing I think when I was pg with dd.I found a bath did help-but it was torture to me because I hate baths..(my absolute worst nightmare is a waterbirth-I know, odd arent I?)Cold nights given on the weather this weekend-cha ching for you!I love the cold nights-so nice to cutch up on the sofa under the blanket in front of the telly.(possibly with a large bowl of popcorn or some such)
Abbylou-thats a bit poor that they put you on such a high dose isnt it?how scary..hope you feel much better now..
Cinnamontam-your film sounds fab-any chance of a british premier, to which all your May mates can be invited?!(If we all turned up heavily pg, it might get you some extra press coverage so it would be a winner both ways!)
SOH-Dont give up hope.Boo at he MIL coming though.Nothing worse than having to entertain someone when you want to veg in bed all day..
FSF-Now I want quiche.Add that to all the other foodstuffs I want and boy am i in trouble..
lw-where were you going when your flights got cancelled?only being nosy..

DD has now contracted some sort of chest infection,(blimey-the child is constantly ill, Im at my wits end!) and was up all night screaming.dh has postponed his boys trip till the morrow as we are both pretty tired..I have decided not to go to parents as its a bit of a long trip for dd when she is poorly.DH is skulking round the house now in a highly bad mood.At this rate I will pack his bags for him and put him in the car tonight myself! He's neither use nor ornament when he's in this humour..

aprilmeadow · 02/02/2007 17:31

I appreciate the gesture!! I think you need it more, and my taste buds had vanished so it would have been wasted on me

scootermum · 02/02/2007 17:34

Is this your weekend away with dh pebble?Have a lovely relaxing time..
Might go and do a bit of buggy perusal myself tomorrow after dh has gone..Just to have a look mind, (must not buy one, must not buy one-we've nowhere to put it at the moment and dh would go wild as he saw the size of my credit card bill the other day and was a bit, erm, surprised..)

scootermum · 02/02/2007 17:38

Lwatkins · 02/02/2007 18:08

LupinsBigLump · 02/02/2007 20:45

Pebble have a good weekend, A friend of a friend has just spent over £1000 on a pushchair, dont know what they have got but omg it must be gold plated I would never spend that on a pushchair

Ohhhh I fancy cake, cake and tea, pretty sure there isnt any tho grrrr

I made it 5 minutes walking today before that pain came back also my back/ hip pain started soon after, tried phoning dp 7 times to come and get me as I was walking to preschool when I got home I was in agony close to tears, asked him why he didnt answer - he had put the bloody thing on silent, when I said what if I was in labour he replied well then you would have called an ambulance , hope this isnt the start of being housebound, started about 27 weeks with dd, my poor pooch not sure what I will do with him if I cant walk again

Frenchsmallfry · 02/02/2007 21:42

Good morning all

AM by the time I had got to the kitchen my desire went from cake to advacado - which I know there was only an old one in the fridge, so settled for bowl of frosties, must get cake and advocados in today just in case, that is if I can make it to shops, you and FSF have a great time - cant believe you only work 20 minutes away lol, it is lovely in Wellington in the summer

Have a good weekend all - off to sneeze some germs on the general public hehehe
