Thread five for the chattiest bunch of preggers ladies you've ever had the pleasure of encountering. We're greeting the second trimester with excitement and apprehension, and lots of questions, humour, reassurance, empathy and advice.

Fourth thread here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2684139-february-2017-thread-4-are-we-the-chattiest-bunch-or-what

Holly can you give them a call today? It looks like they might have overlooked you appointment? Hmm
Thanks Shell and everyone else.

You ladies have been amazingly supportive (tearing up)

DP and I didnt speak but held hands Smile this morning which means we are good. When I get anxious I can't talk as I just get worse.

I have been exhausted and slept lots, from 7pm to 9pm and then from 12 to 7am!

So I feel rested and better.

I think I will be ok. Test is today.

Things will be ok.

Hugs and good luck for scans today FlowersFlowers

Welcome newbies Smile
I hope your driving test goes well Evergreen. Glad you're feeling a bit better.
Does anyone have joint pain in their hands? My index finger and thumb on my right hand have been really painful and swollen for a few days now. It seems too early to get carpal tunnel and I didn't suffer last time but I can't think how I injured it. I just woke up with my hand hurting and it's got worse.

Evergreen17 · 02/08/2016 08:57

Hmm not pain on hands friendly but I do have some pains in my uterus I think stretching and when I sneeze

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 02/08/2016 09:09

Diva - I'm 13 weeks now and still suffering with nausea. I phoned the docs last week in desperation and although she made lots of sympathetic noises she listed the medication that they could prescribe and then said something along the lines of "but I imagine you want to avoid taking any medication" Hmm

In fairness to her, she did sign me off work for a week and told me to rest up and then told me to ring her back if it didn't ease off and she would prescribe me something. I do honestly think being off work has done me the world of good. I am still getting horrible waves of nausea, but at least I'm not having to battle with them at work.

Bumblebee33 · 02/08/2016 09:39

Good luck Evergreen! Wishing you all the best for your test. Congrats to all those who have had positive scans and welcome to those who are just joining the thread :)

I have had lie-ins two days in a row and am feeling fantastic!! So much sleep and the nausea has finally gone :) My scan will be 2 weeks today...can't come soon enough!

It only just occurred to me that with a projected due date of 24 Feb I could easily end up having a March baby. Well, what will be will be!

kikisdelivery · 02/08/2016 10:33

Evergreen so glad you're feeling a bit better, good luck for today with your test, and keep getting rest and relaxing before your scan and Friday Smile. I thought I'd failed my test within 30 seconds of trying to get out of the test centre - you've got this and you'll be ok xx

ScottishSnowflake · 02/08/2016 11:44

Good luck today Evergreen!

I've just had my scan - measuring slightly further along so now due 5 Feb! Midwife has also told us what she thought baby was likely to be as he(!) was 13+2 and behaving himself! Smile

FriendlyGhost · 02/08/2016 11:51

Oh wow Scottish that's so exciting! How did she know? Did she look at the nub?

Shellbell0403 · 02/08/2016 11:52

Fab scottish very happy for you xx

ScottishSnowflake · 02/08/2016 11:55

Thanks Friendly and Shell. Apparently at 13+2 I'm too advanced for the nub but she said she was almost positive! Tbh, I was just looking out for arms/ legs but she saw something I didn't that made her sure Smile Baby also waved and kicked, perfectly normal for his ordinary scan but didn't want to play ball for the neck measurement and so got prodded and juggles until he behaved! Starting as he means to go on no doubt Smile

Dreamingoutloud7 · 02/08/2016 12:54

scottish that's amazing she could tell this early! Do you believe her or are you still going to wait before buying anything boy related?
I wouldn't imagine she would say anything unless she was absolutely sure though would she?

Good luck today evergreen

Welcome to everyone new, so many babies due in February!!

CinderellaFant · 02/08/2016 12:57

Good luck evergreen!

Ah Scottish a little boy!! I can't wait to find out what we are having, I have a feeling it's a boy. I already have one of each- DD wants a sister and DS wants a brother...someone will be disappointed!

ScottishSnowflake · 02/08/2016 13:00

We'll be happy even if she was wrong! Although we do need to seriously think about boy names now as we'd only chosen girls Confused I'm fairly certain she wouldn't have said as she asked us if we'd like to know the sex or wait until 20w - guessing she was happy enough!

Holly1987 · 02/08/2016 13:09

So I called the hospital and they hadn't booked my scan yet. So they had to deal with an anxious and maybe a tad dramatic hormonal rant down the phone...
Got a call back 5 minutes later and I'm booked in Friday 12th at 2pm Smile So relieved to have a date. Then hopefully all will be ok and I can finally relax & enjoy the pregnancy.

LaceyLee · 02/08/2016 13:27

Hi all been away for a while and loving looking at all the scan pics. That's fab news Scottish and we are due date buddies as I had my scan today and I got pushed forward two days as well. Glad you got the scan booked Holly phew!

LaceyLee · 02/08/2016 13:28

Here's my pic, due date is 5th Feb now 😊

Due in February 2017....thread 5!
ScottishSnowflake · 02/08/2016 13:36

Yay Lacey! Lovely pic and a due date buddy Smile

2ManySweets · 02/08/2016 13:39

I'm still absolutely staggered they can tell the baby's sex at this early stage! Congrats to the successful scannees today.

I'm really hoping they can tell me what I'm having - I'm so impatient Smile

CinderellaFant · 02/08/2016 13:39

Ah Lacey look at that little face!

Evergreen17 · 02/08/2016 15:29

Failed test Sad

ScottishSnowflake · 02/08/2016 15:32

Oh no Evergreen Sad I failed mine too when I tried to take it. Fingers crossed you can take it again soon.

Shellbell0403 · 02/08/2016 15:44

Sending hugs evergreen You will pass with flying colours next time 😊

Jojoclaire · 02/08/2016 15:49

evergreen Out of all the things you've got going on, I think that's the best one to fail Smile

Anyway the best drivers sit it at least twice!

SkyLucy · 02/08/2016 15:54

Oh I'm sorry ever! It's so common, and you'd be forgiven for being just a tad distracted! If it makes you feel better, I'm 32 and can't drive - hate the whole idea but did give in to some automatic lessons and had to stop due to morning sickness! I will have another go but I hate it, and am certain it will take me a few tests before I pass. You're amazing for tackling it during such a crazy week! Flowers

twocatsandatoddler · 02/08/2016 15:55

Sorry evergreen, not what you need when you're already stressed this week.

I failed mine 4 times when I was 17/18 because I got so nervous in the tests. I'm sure you'll be fine next time Flowers
