Thread five for the chattiest bunch of preggers ladies you've ever had the pleasure of encountering. We're greeting the second trimester with excitement and apprehension, and lots of questions, humour, reassurance, empathy and advice.

Fourth thread here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2684139-february-2017-thread-4-are-we-the-chattiest-bunch-or-what

Great scan pics from all the ladies with scans today. So pleased you all got good news.

Is anyone else still suffering with morning sickness (or all bloody day sickness in my case)? I am 14 weeks today and the nausea is as bad as ever. Will it ever stop? Can I get any medication to actually stop it?

Shellbell0403 · 01/08/2016 19:25

diva my doc gave me antisickness sickness tablets. If you speak to them they can give you some! Mind you mine aren't really helping xx

Sienna9522 · 01/08/2016 19:27

Aww massive congratulations to all with good news from the scans! Nice to see all the lovely scan pics too! Roll on the 15th for mine, seems like an age away.

Jojoclaire · 01/08/2016 19:37

Thinking of you evergreen you've come so far already and doing so well with everything you have going on. In 5 days you'll be happy and married and I'm sure the LO will be fine, as others said you've seen a heartbeat.

But we're all here thinking of you and I'm sending you lots of love too, and you'll look lovely in your dress I bet! (My stomach is quite flat too and I saw the baby waving last week) so don't worry and get some sleep if you can.

divadee · 01/08/2016 19:38

shell will they give them for just nausea though? I am only being sick 3/4 times a week but have nausea all bloody day. I am getting really down with it now as some days it's a struggle to get out of bed!!

FriendlyGhost · 01/08/2016 19:43

So happy for all the scan news and lovely picsSmile
Diva I'm 11+6 and my nausea seems to be getting worse by the day. I had it up to 18 1/2 weeks with dd so I'm hoping it isn't the same this time.

wm3010 · 01/08/2016 19:48

Yay for lovely scan pics!

divadee sorry you are still feeling rubbish. I am the same really apart from mine has only ever been nausea, haven't been sick at all. 14+3 and I have in just the last couple of days started getting a window of an hour or so where I feel more normal. I am hoping the end is in sight for me. my understanding was that doctors will only prescribe where they are concerned about extreme sickness causing dehydration. Having said that there have been one or two threads on mumsnet which make me think some gps are a bit more progressive and will consider meds for nausea too so worth at least a chat I think.

wm3010 · 01/08/2016 19:48

PS my nausea lasted until 18 weeks last time..

Shellbell0403 · 01/08/2016 19:58

Yes diva Well mine did because I was having really bad nausea and then sickness for abit! Just tell them how bad it is and you can concentrate etc with it xx

dollylovelace · 01/08/2016 20:11

Hello! Please can I join in? Expecting baby number 3 😍 X

Kate555578 · 01/08/2016 20:14

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind me joining! I'm currently 10.2 due 25th Feb. Eagerly awaiting our scan next Thursday 11th!

CeeCeeEnnEss · 01/08/2016 20:26

Oh evergreen I'm sorry you're struggling. You have an absolutely crazy week. Talk to your DP, and to us, and we'll get you through whatever happens.

I'm sending you positive thoughts xx

ScottishSnowflake · 01/08/2016 20:39

Hello all, many congrats on all the wonderful scan pics Smile

Evergreen, such a crazy week for you. Have been think of you and sending positive thoughts to get you through the week.

Hello all new posters and welcome!

SpinALittleFaster · 01/08/2016 21:09

Scan was fine and the bleed seems to have resolved so they're no longer concerned. Dating 12+1 so the 12th, but apparently that was set at my last scan and they were just looking for dates to match roughly. I guess this is actually happening now!

gumbootsandjandals · 01/08/2016 21:27

Diva they absolutely give meds "just for nausea". I tried a few. They didn't work for me. I think I'm a bit special as am resistant to lots of drugs (incl gas and air!).

My nausea has improved but definitely gets worse again if I have a bad nights sleep. Today it kicked in after lunch and no amount of garibaldi biscuits eased it. Still feeling ill now so off to bed.

Evergreen what a stressful week ahead for you. Sending all the positive vibes.

itsliz · 01/08/2016 21:32

Hi all! Hope you don't mind yet another newcomer?!

I've been lurking on the Feb threads for a while (not creepy, promise!) but didn't want to post until after my 12 week scan when everything felt a bit more real. All went ok today so I can finally come out of hiding!

Exactly 12 weeks today with DC2 (due Feb 13th) Smile

Evergreen17 · 01/08/2016 23:36

Thank you everyone for your support.
Also congratulations to all of you that had a lovely scan today. Glad that you dont have to suffer the worry anymore Flowers

I am feeling really exhausted. DP and I still not talking and wedding is Friday. So all sort of second thoughts and I think whatever happens at the scan will have an impact on Friday.
Driving test tomorrow.

Worst week of my life? Probably.

Which is not what you want to say of the week of your wedding.

Goodnight.

I hope scans tomorrow go well for you all ladies Flowers

leedsladyx · 02/08/2016 01:57

Hi ladies, I haven't really posted much but I have followed everyone else's posts. Just looking at all the scan pics (all beautiful photos), I am now 12 weeks exactly and still haven't got my scan date through the post. I am started to get worried and my midwife is such a pain to get hold of. Does anyone know the latest I can be scanned, I don't want to miss out! It's really frustrating. I want to see my little bean!Sad

2ManySweets · 02/08/2016 06:16

Welcome Leeds and ruddy hell - no scan date yet? When did you tell your GP/Hospital?

This happened to me last time; I called the antenatal unit and explained my situation - I had a scan four days later.

Forget the midwife for now, she's not your only source of help and ring antenatal pronto x

twocatsandatoddler · 02/08/2016 06:28

leeds definitely give the hospital a call - I arranged my booking appointment over the phone with them as I hadn't received a letter.

Holly1987 · 02/08/2016 06:30

Hi leedsladyx.
I'm also 12 weeks this week & haven't received my scan letter. Apparently here your scan is between 12-14 weeks, but I thought I'd at least have a date by now.
Mine have known about my pregnancy since week 4/5 and my first midwife appointment was only last Tuesday. So I'm going to call the hospital today & push I think. I don't mind waiting, as i had my reassurance scan at 6 weeks, i just want to know when so I can see my baby is still ok in there Confused

Congratulations on all the scan pics ladies! I can't wait to see my little pudding Smile

divadee · 02/08/2016 06:46

Thanks for all the help and advice ladies. Had a mini meltdown last night at home. Just cried that the nausea seems to be going on forever and I don't seem to have a life at the moment. I have spent all weekend in bed and still feel like crap. Anyway today is a new day. I have to go to work for a meeting this morning and then calling the GP about some medication.

Mysterycat23 · 02/08/2016 07:34

Welcome dolly Kate Liz and leeds!

What is your due date dolly? There is a list which gets updated from time to time with everyone's edds.

Spin happy to hear scan went well. Let's hope the reassurance of our 12 week scans stays with us all who have had them!

Mysterycat23 · 02/08/2016 07:40

divadee hope gp can help you out today. I'm sure you've tried loads of things already, are you nibbling on plenty of fruit/veg/hula hoops/toast..? The only way I can keep it down to manageable levels is nibbling constantly. Crisps don't work for me at the moment as tummy seems to dislike fatty foods but hula hoops are working well :) also tangerines because they come in little segments so I can nibble slowly and not accidentally scoff the lot!

Shellbell0403 · 02/08/2016 07:52

Had a terrible night last night ladies and hardly slept a wink!! Up and down like a yo-yo and felling sick and then sick this morning! Was supposed to go back to work today.. maybe tomorrow!!

How are you guys sleeping?

diva hope doc helps you and gives you something!!

evergreen good luck today! You will do fab!! Maybe you should speak to DP... don't want things to build up before your big day?

Welcome new guys zz
