Thread five for the chattiest bunch of preggers ladies you've ever had the pleasure of encountering. We're greeting the second trimester with excitement and apprehension, and lots of questions, humour, reassurance, empathy and advice.

Fourth thread here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2684139-february-2017-thread-4-are-we-the-chattiest-bunch-or-what

Popping back in as I had my first scan yesterday. Was so worried about it but baby was wriggling around happy as Larry and is set to be another big one...93rd centile for length.

They've moved my due date to the 11th of Feb but I'm still telling family and friends end of Feb. My babies have all been late so I'm expecting to cook this one for a while longer too.

Still feeling exhausted, queasy (although touch wood not so much), lots of headaches, back ache and other niggles. Roll on 2nd trimester where I usually feel amazing.

Anyone who has not found out the sex yet..do you plan to? We've always waited until baby has arrived but I think I want to know this time. Do you think it's possible to find out but tell everyone else you haven't? I want it to be between DH and I if we do and I'm thinking of asking them to write it down and put it in an envelope so we can look later. What are you all planning to do?

Great news nicecup

I didn't find out last time but plan to this time. Not sure whether we'll tell everyone - maybe just family. My friends found out but didn't tell anyone, but family guessed anyway as they'd painted the nursery pink!

LaceyLee · 04/08/2016 08:27

Morning all, ugh I can't sleep at all!! Just can't get comfy all night, even though my dd is sleeping quite well (for her) these days. Anyone got any tips? I'll have to try chamomile tea I guess but I just want to be able to sleep!

LaceyLee · 04/08/2016 08:28

Nice pic nicecup your baby has very long legs by the looks of things!

twocatsandatoddler · 04/08/2016 08:28

lacey I've been needing a pillow under the bump to get comfy the last few nights so I'm going to dig my pregnancy pillow out of the attic tomorrow. Have you got one of those? I found it amazing last time, couldn't sleep without it.

FriendlyGhost · 04/08/2016 08:30

Good luck with the scans today. I think there are quite a few.
Congratulations Nicecup. That's a really lovely clear picture Smile
So so tired at the moment and it doesn't seem to be easing. I haven't suffered from headaches much this time but I had daily ones last time. Part of me wonders if some of it was caffeine withdrawal.

Shellbell0403 · 04/08/2016 08:33

Good luck evergreen and ifatfirst

Nerves kicking in now

Dreamingoutloud7 · 04/08/2016 08:34

Good luck ifatfirst

nicecup lovely pic, baby does look tall!

lacey I second the recommendation of pregnancy pillow, I thought I wouldn't need one until much further along but bought one a week ago as I just kept fidgeting in the night, and it's life changing, I don't know why maybe hips etc need extra support earlier or something but I sleep so well since I got it.

Dreamingoutloud7 · 04/08/2016 08:38

Also can't remember who was saying about constipation a while ago, but just thought I'd give an update, I ditched the pregnacare and now just take folic acid and vit d, and it's made such a difference, been doing that for nearly a week now and I'm practically back to 'normal' on that front!

MarjorySunshineDust · 04/08/2016 08:47

Good luck with the scans today.

I've been sleeping with a pillow between my knees for a while now, want to get a proper body pillow soon!

Shellbell0403 · 04/08/2016 08:48

dreaming i didn't the pregnacare a couple of days ago so hope it helps me too!! Mind u managed to go today but think it's due to nerves haha..

Getting quite worried now incase I go and something has happened

AshOutside · 04/08/2016 08:56

What position are you sleeping in ladies? Xx

Dutchy88 · 04/08/2016 08:57

nicecup we found out with ds and didn't tell anyone. It was nice keeping it to ourselves.

Scan at 1:50 today. Even though I only saw baby last Monday I am still ridiculously nervous.

Shellbell0403 · 04/08/2016 09:00

Good luck dutchy mine is 11.45. Petrified xx

kikisdelivery · 04/08/2016 09:11

Good luck to all of you being scanned today, tons of luck and love, you'll all be fine and we can't wait to see your pics Smile x

kikisdelivery · 04/08/2016 09:13

shell I am now trying to sleep on my side - left if I can, but either at the moment and I haven't got any pain or anything. Sometimes I fall asleep on my back, but right now nothing seems too achy so I'm going with what my body says.

Wonderlust123 · 04/08/2016 09:15

That's a good photo of your lo, nicecup!

Those of you saying about having bumps already, how many weeks are you? Is this you second pregnancy?

This is my first, and other than feeling a bit fat, there's not much to show yet! (11 weeks). Although, not complaining. It'll make it easier to keep things quiet at work for a while at least.

ScottishSnowflake · 04/08/2016 09:17

Good luck Dutchy!

Which pillow does everyone have? I'm starting to think about them too.

PianoOnlyTheWhiteKeys · 04/08/2016 09:25

I have the dream genie. I sleep on my front so thought I'd get into the habit of side sleeping early on. Not working so far, it ends up on the floor and I fall asleep on my front anyway. I read it's ok to do that til about 5 months without damaging baby/ being uncomfortable.

I just don't know what to do with my shoulders when I try to sleep on my side, not comfy!

kikisdelivery · 04/08/2016 09:28

Scottish, a lady at work who is also pregnant (with her second) has recommended those long horseshoe-curved pillows to me, she says they're amazing! I haven't bought anything yet but think I might look into one of those as a friend also had exactly the same one and raved about it when she was pregnant.

twocatsandatoddler · 04/08/2016 09:28

wonder I am so big people jump out of their seats on the tube for me (which is a bit embarrassing actually) but I'm 14 weeks with my second pregnancy. I'm about the size I was at 18-20 weeks last time!

Pillow-wise, I had a dream genie last time (I think) and it was great. It came with a washable cover which was handy, but I washed the whole pillow afterwards before I put it away and I remember it went a bit lumpy so it might not be comfy anymore so might end up having to buy another.

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 04/08/2016 09:48

Mines at 11:20 and the nerves have well and truly set in.
Forced down a little bit of breakfast first thing before my mind could totally go in to overdrive as I knew I would be sick with nerves and not be able to eat which then would set off the pregnancy nausea!
Can't win!! Hmm

CinderellaFant · 04/08/2016 09:50

I have the dream genie too, it really helped my back in my last pregnancy.
