Crazy that we are onto thread 4 already!

Just starting the 12-week scans, but still feet firmly in the anxiety-ridden first trimester, yikes!

Dutchy now your name makes sense!

Readyfortwo · 25/07/2016 18:36

Sorry to hear that Cinderella

I have the same vein problems as you london, last time I ended up with two midwives egging each other on to take the blood from my hand (after a couple of failed attempts in my arm) as neither had done it before Shock

This time the mw was a bit more confident & used a thing called a butterfly to help. She got it in first time. This should be the only time they need to do it, but her advice was to demand someone more experienced & tell them to use a butterfly.

kikisdelivery · 25/07/2016 18:43

Hey Shell Smile

To be honest, later today good old nausea came back. My boobs are way less sore and are touchable, but honestly I'm just staying away from the internet and seeing what the scan comes back with next Monday.

Cinderella, I'm so sorry to hear about your scan Flowers, I hope you're being looked after xx

divadee · 25/07/2016 18:53

Oh Cinderella that's such sad news. I'm thinking of you. Xxxx

divadee · 25/07/2016 18:56

I had my scan and an attempt at a harmony test today but they couldn't get any blood. I have to go back tomorrow for another attempt for blood as they are only allowed 2 goes a day. Gahhhhhhh.

The scan was amazing and my dates are 12+6 for definite now. So tomorrow I will have my nhs scan and then a drive to Southampton for my harmony blood test so a busy day!!

Shellbell0403 · 25/07/2016 18:56

Kiki I'm the same as you! My boobs soreness comes and goes! My nausea is also a come and go buy been a coming last week while haha. I'm also a Google guru and defo need to stay away from it! Just Googled percentage rate of mc etc

I'm a nightmare x

FriendlyGhost · 25/07/2016 19:27

I'm so sorry to hear that Cinderella FlowersFlowersFlowers

LondonGirl83 · 25/07/2016 19:37

ready they had to take it from my hand today after initially trying to fob me off to the blood clinic somewhere else. I don't have time for another appointment for just bloodwork!

They brought in a midwife who previously was a geriatric nurse- apparently old ladies have the smallest most difficult veins

BoomKapow · 25/07/2016 19:42

divadee we must be quite close, I had my 12 week scan today in Winchester but could have gone to Southampton. Scan was ok but apparently I have a severely retroverted
Uterus which made it hard for them to get a good picture.

cinderella so sorry to hear you had bad news, I hope Wednesday bring more encouraging news.

SpinALittleFaster · 25/07/2016 19:51

I'm so sorry cinderella.

carrie105 · 25/07/2016 19:56

So sorry to hear that news cinderella

divadee · 25/07/2016 20:00

Hey boom. I'm actually in Bournemouth. Just had to travel for a private scan and blood test to Southampton. But we still aren't too far away!!

Evergreen17 · 25/07/2016 20:07

Shell I did. I got one at 7 weeks but pure luck!
Most people don't get one until 12w and this is something I definitely didnt know when ttC.

I thought once you got the BFP then it was all certain.

And now I realise that the first 3 months are just so unreal

Shellbell0403 · 25/07/2016 20:18

Evergreen I know what you mean! I got one at 8+5 and wish I had another one before 12 weeks! So nervous xx

Evergreen17 · 25/07/2016 21:28

10 days wait for me Confused

GinandJazzHands · 25/07/2016 21:39

cinderella I am so sorry. Mmc is so very cruel. I hope you are being kind to yourself and have RL support. Sending you hugs Flowers

GinandJazzHands · 25/07/2016 21:41

bumble and 2many it sounds like some are waiting for scan dates still but you are among the last; can't wait until we've all been scanned! I hit the ten week mark today and celebrated with a good vomit. Oh the glamour.

Shellbell0403 · 25/07/2016 21:44

evergreen I'm the same 🙈

wispaxmas · 25/07/2016 21:59

I'm so sorry, Cinderella Flowers Random anecdote - friend of a friend of mine fell pregnant and went to her 12 week scan and there was only a sac and fetal pole present - turned out she had miscarried and then conceived again without even realising it. It is probably extremely rare, and I know you probably don't want to get your hopes up, but things like that do happen.

London, I have invisible veins when it comes to having blood drawn, too. They will draw bloods with your nuchal scan and again at 28 weeks, but just drink a pint or two of water in the couple hours before and it should make it easier for them to get blood out of you! Hand is the worst, though, always hurts for ages after, my sympathies!

2manysweets, I dug out the baby on board badge a week weeks ago when I was feeling nauseous all day! Probably won't wear it often, but last time I had bad PGP and definitely needed the seat.

cinderella I'm so sorry, devastating news Flowers

Last pregnancy I just assumed everything would be fine and told a lot of people before the 12 week scan but I've felt so much more cautious this time. It's such a long time to wait without knowing what's going on in there.
Finally got mine tomorrow.

TheresaMarie55 · 26/07/2016 07:36

Hi everyone, I've not been on for.a while but have been lurking. Our house is upside down with the bathroom being done but the work should be finished Thursday. My mums, friends daughter was exactly the same weeks pregnant as me, went for a scan last week at 11+4 to be told she'd has a missed miscarriage. She'd had spotting the day before the scan but no other signs. Sorry if its putting a bit of a downer on the thread just explaining why I've not been on. My scan isn't until Friday (I'll be 13 weeks then) and its just made me nervous. I've had pregnancy related IBS in both previous pregnancies and it's come back again the past two weeks. As we know IBS can cause cramps, backache etc so now I'm scared is it really that or something else. Just driving myself a bit crazy really and just want to see my little baby now x

SBSparkles · 26/07/2016 07:45

Hey everyone, I didn't want to post yesterday in light of some peoples upsetting news but I just wanted again to express my sympathies. I am happy to say after weeks of worrying, our baby was healthy and measuring a week ahead of what I actually am. It has taken us over two years to get pregnant after my DH was told his sperm motility was so low we only had a 5 - 10% chance of conceiving naturally per year. After months of ivf prep and injecting horrible hormones, a minor operation and many many tears, we saw our wriggly baby on screen yesterday. I really hope this isn't insensitive to post now but the path to having children isn't always easy for everyone. But when you get there all the pain is worth it xxxx

Aww sparkles what a lovely clear scan picture. Yesterday's news was awful and I am not ashamed to admit shedding a tear for a stranger. I am the same as you, have been on a horrifically long journey of watching everyone else have their babies, and 9 years, numerous surgeries/treatments, a mc and a round of ivf later feel like the luckiest person alive. My scan is today and even though I had one 2 weeks ago I have still laid awake most the night terrified of what we may be told tomorrow, I truly can't get my head round the fact that maybe finally it's my turn to be a mummy. So thrilled all was well with you. X
