FriendlyGhost · 22/07/2016 13:31

So much to catch up on!
Kiki I'll add to the list again in a few days so will make sure you're definitely on it. Don't know what happened there!
Congratulations on all the scans. It's lovely to hear such good news. It's amazing you've already found out you're having a girl lawyered. It's made me even more impatient for my scan which is two weeks today. I don't know how I'm going to get through another 10 weeks before I find out the gender. I might try to persuade DH I need an early gender scan but I don't think he'll agree somehow. He's positive it's a girl anyway!
Sorry some of you are having trouble sleeping. I'm fine getting to sleep but finding it hard after dd has woken for a feed. It's not so bad if she wakes at 1 or 2 but she sometimes goes through until 5 and I really struggle to get back to sleep after that.

Kellz92 · 22/07/2016 14:50

Friendly i did update a few bits of the list a few pages back.

My scan is a week on Monday, but i have my emergency one on Sunday to keep me sane, We dont get an option here but to book for gender scans as our hospitals for NHS Grampian dont tell you, so im booked in on the 3rd September, only because ill be away when im 16 weeks lol!

xx

wispaxmas · 22/07/2016 15:02

I'm so crap at keeping up that the thread fell off my 'threads I'm on' page Blush

Scan was today, date of 1 Feb confirmed, two more scans booked for 23 September and 6 January (wow they do things in advance Grin), and all chromosomy risks really low! Will try to read through now...

Thanks for all the well wishes :) Scan went well, EDF now 5th February as I'm 11+5. Baby was a wriggle pants but sonographer said all looked perfect so YAY! If I can figure out how to do a picture I'll put one up later.

CeeCeeEnnEss · 22/07/2016 15:15

Ooh wispa your scan is so clear! My next one is 14th September.

Kellz92 · 22/07/2016 15:15

CeeCee same date as me so far :) glad to hear all went well.

Wispa lovely pic hun

Sienna9522 · 22/07/2016 15:28

Glad to hear all the good news of the scans and see the lovely pictures Smile I am a teeny bit jealous, I haven't even had a scan date through the post yet!

wispaxmas · 22/07/2016 15:34

Radders, love the dog, dogs and babies go hand in hand together, I'm sure he will LOVE sharing the attention if it means a little partner in crime Wink

Button, last time I was bloated in the first trimester, but the bloating definitely went before the actual bump appeared.

lawyered, that's amazing, I'm a tiny bit jealous of anyone having the harmony/panorama tests, I'm so impatient. Congratulations on your little girl!

Shell, what is the Cubs test? It's totally normal for symptoms to subside around 10-11 weeks.

OP posts:
Readyfortwo · 22/07/2016 16:21

Have you tried Asos Diva? Not sure what length but they def have 'tall' versions and I ordered normal skinny jeans & they're very long.

For those struggling to sleep, I used a sleep mist from the Mum&Me range last time and it helped massively- I even used it during labour and managed to sleep (I had an epidural in but was 9cm dilated!).

I couldn't find it this time so am using an Avon pillow spray (bought from Amazon), seems to be working so far but loads of brands do them. I also have This Works roll on for my temples but their spray was quite pricey hence I went for Avon.

LondonGirl83 · 22/07/2016 17:03

Congrats to everyone with happy scan news!

My booking in is on Monday and I was curious how far back in DH's family history will they want information? A heads up on the questions would be great. Also do they weigh you?

FriendlyGhost · 22/07/2016 17:42

I'm also jealous of these tests Wispa. They save a lot of worry and I want to know what I'm having NOW! Unfortunately DH will only be persuaded if my results are high risk.
London they do ask about family health history but nothing too detailed. Just if there's any diabetes, heart problems and some kidney thing which is apparently very serious so I would have heard if anyone in the family had it. I don't know anything beyond grandparents on either side and not much beyond dh's parents. The only thing that was flagged up this time (but not last time for some reason) was ethnic origin on my side. I mentioned my great grandparents were Jewish and from various Eastern European countries so they just test my blood for something extra that I can't remember. They only worry about dh's origin if my blood results come back positive but very unlikely apparently.
I was weighed, lots of blood taken, questions on my health and lifestyle. Lots of questions but nothing too taxing.

GinandJazzHands · 22/07/2016 18:16

Great news wispa and ceecee! My scan/booking in went great, saw the tiny little bean's heart beat and it gave us a wriggle, a leg kick and a wave! Even though I'm 12 weeks by LMP I knew I OV'd late and it's dating small, around 9+4 with EDD of 20 Feb, so nhs are scanning me again in three weeks (12 Aug), which feels like a cheeky freebie! Then my 20 week scan is booked in for 3 Oct. Very relieved.

February 2017 - Thread 4 (are we the chattiest bunch or what?!)
GinandJazzHands · 22/07/2016 18:28

london I got weighed, height measured, blood pressure and bloods taken. Also provided a urine sample. DH came in for the scan bit as was a combined booking in/scan appointment, but then they asked him to wait outside for the medical history bit. They weren't interested in dh's family beyond any big issues in immediate family like downs/cf.
Mine they asked loads of medical questions but only interested in immediate family not grandparents. They also asked about my mental health and domestic situation (ie any domestic violence etc) which is why I guess DH wasn't allowed in. They asked what job DH has but not me (which I thought weird) and about what support or family I might have about me when baby is born. They then gave me a ton of info leaflets and my hospital notes to keep hold of. Hope that helps!

LondonGirl83 · 22/07/2016 19:06

Thanks gin that does help

ScottishSnowflake · 22/07/2016 19:56

Hi all! Lovely to see all the scans coming through. I finally got my scan date of 2 August so I'll be on hot coals until then!

wispaxmas · 22/07/2016 21:02

Oh, and before I forget: if anyone wants to join the FB group, just PM me an email address Smile

Gin, love a cheeky freebie scan. Did you think you had ovulated that late, or is baby smaller still than you expected?

London, at booking in they weigh and ask height (they did this again at my scan), but the medical history bit is mainly about you and your side as it's mainly to assess your risk during the pregnancy, not that of the baby necessarily. So diabetes in your family is relevant, but not in your DP's. They'll ask about lifestyle - how active you are, whether you drink or smoke, if you work, etc. It's really rather boring, actually.

friendly, I am with your DH on not being able to justify it without high risk, but then my NHS trust would offer harmony if my results had come back high risk anyway.

ceecee, fab news on the scan!

OP posts:
GinandJazzHands · 22/07/2016 21:21

Hey wispa, no I knew I'd OV'd late; told my GP but he said they'd use LMP date to begin with regardless. I thought I was 9+4 today, she measured the baby when it was slightly curled up and it came out as 8+something which was momentarily worrying, but then it straightened out and she got a bang on 9+4 measuremen; combining that with hearing the heart and seeing it move I'm really happy. It'll be good to see it get bigger in a few weeks though!

GinandJazzHands · 22/07/2016 21:22

Is anyone else on here thinking of not finding out the baby's sex until it's born? Kind of fancy the surprise but jury is out.

ButtonTum · 22/07/2016 22:23

Lovely pic Gin! I'm also not planning on finding out baby's gender. Tempted but as its our first I think we'll wait. I know if I do find out I'll only end up blurting it out accidentally anyway

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 23/07/2016 07:51

I will be finding out.
I wasn't sure with DS if I wanted to know, DH did. Up until the very last minute I was undecided, but in the end I did. It was much easier to plan.

Although, seeing the little penis on the scan which was glaringly obvious there was still a little bit of "what if they're wrong".

We told DS last night after showing him the scan pictures, bless him he didn't really understand and was more interested in going back to his cars! Smile

Workinzzz · 23/07/2016 07:53

Hi all I'm new from the January thread, after my scan I now have a edd of 1st of FebSmile hi everyone!

GinandJazzHands · 23/07/2016 08:24

Bless your DS first, how old is he? Anyone else told other DCs yet? Welcome work!

divadee · 23/07/2016 08:53

Morning lovely ladies.

How's everyone feeling? Can't wait for my harmony test and scan on Monday. I'm hoping to get dates confirmed. I should be 13 weeks according to scan last week or 12 weeks according to lmp dates. But I'm still having all the nausea and dry heaving.

2ManySweets · 23/07/2016 09:13

I am so very very very very very very very very very very very tired.

Did I mention I was tired?
