Crazy that we are onto thread 4 already!

Just starting the 12-week scans, but still feet firmly in the anxiety-ridden first trimester, yikes!

Lala I was going to wait too, but im 12 weeks on Sunday, my dating scan isnt until 1st August. and with being on holiday when i get to 16 weeks i wanted to make sure i got that date lol. You must be due the day after me :)
I kept making excuses but my hubby just said to book

FriendlyGhost · 21/07/2016 13:32

Sausagedog that sounds really tough. I have always suffered with bad pmt as well although never as badly as you. I haven't been as bad this time but last pregnancy I wanted to kill my DH most days and we did argue a lot. I found a lot of it was the exhaustion as I don't cope well with being tired and I was also angry because he showed no interest in the baby whatsoever. It manifested in me snapping over small things that I had previously ignored but suddenly seemed like a massive deal. This time it's easier because I'm not working so I'm not as exhausted and he's learnt to be more sympathetic. I'm still quite impatient with him on occasion though!

Witch91 · 21/07/2016 13:53

I'm also feeling quite anxious and pessimistic about the 12 week scan on Tuesday. I've had no symptoms to suggest there is anything wrong, but I'm still really worried about it and the chances of having had an MMC. DH is also being the optimist, which is nice but also makes me want to shake him a bit...

I've been really grumpy too - not so bad the last few days but last week was awful and today I'm feeling grumpy again. Not quite to the same extent as you Sausage, but I can sympathise!! I'm sure it is just hormone related so should settle down soon for us all as we move into second trimester!!

Kellz92 · 21/07/2016 13:53

Knew i shouldnt have booked my gender scan, just went to the toilet and have some pink bleeding, hoping its because we dtd last night!

xx

SkyLucy · 21/07/2016 14:29

Oh kellz I'm sure it's fine - bleeding after DTD is super common.

London ladies....any recommendations for private scan clinics? I think I'm going to have to book one - can't get a 12-week scan date from the NHS for love nor money and desperately need to get a scan booked in before I go to a wedding on 5 Aug!

Been googling and my, there are some crap websites out there! So, if you've had a lovely scan experience in central London please let me know, ta loves!

LondonGirl83 · 21/07/2016 14:46

Sky I used the Birth Company who were perfectly fine. I had a private viability scan there at 7 weeks and I know they do 12 week scans as well.

I should have added to my previous post I did an equivalent test to Harmony (Panorama) blood test on Monday (plus sonogram). Birth Company did the scan to make sure I was far enough along to take the test and that it was a viable pregnancy before proceeding. I honestly don't know what I would do with the results; however, I am going to a huge (100 plus person) family reunion out of country next week and want to be able to tell people I'm pregnant without fear that there was some worrying issue we didn't know about.

One thing I didn't realise before the test was that you still need to do your 12 week scan (assuming you take the test before then) as that scan is used to detect potential heart defects in addition to the chromosome disorders.

SausageDogGeorge · 21/07/2016 14:47

thanks Witch91 i really hope it is just my stupid hormones and I will be back to normal soon - it is horrible feeling so angry and arguing all the time when we should be super happy - I miscarried in December so I think my hormones have been crazy since then as my DP says I've been a nightmare since the start of the year (and I can't help but agree with him!) Blush

I'm impatient at the best of times Friendly Grin so i'm awful at the moment, anyway my MW is back from holiday on monday so i'm going to chat to her about it and I'm booked in for a session of reflexology, which has helped a lot with PMT in the past, next Friday.

Amazing scan photo Readyfortwo - i can't wait for mine! Just hope all goes well for us this time Smile

LondonGirl83 · 21/07/2016 14:49

Kellz I'm sure its fine. Spotting is so common in early pregnancy. I had a few days of spotting and everything (so far) is totally fine with baby. My most recent scan was just a few days ago and spotting was three weeks ago for a few days.

Kellz92 · 21/07/2016 14:51

Sky thank you, it seems to have stopped but i will still go get checked on Sunday

London I had spotting at 6 weeks and had a scan and all was ok, had another at 9 weeks and still was ok so hoping all is well. I was just told if i bled again to call them straight away.

Its stopped for now so will tak it easy and still get scanned on Sunday

xx

FriendlyGhost · 21/07/2016 14:53

Sky last time I had a private scan at 32 weeks at the Fetal Medicine Centre on Harley Street. They do early scans for about £100 I think. It was lovely there and they took their time.
This time I went for a cheap one in Mitcham so outside central London. It was only £45 but perfect for what I wanted which was just to confirm all was well. The area isn't so nice but it was fine inside. I got pictures and they had a good look at my ovaries and baby position so was nice to know all was ok. That was at a place called Peek-a-baby.

lawyeredout82 · 21/07/2016 14:55

Sky - I used Ultrasounddirect in the City who were great (on this occasion and with DD when we had an early scan.

Diva - it was really good! She even managed to switch in to 4d and we spent maybe 20 mins with the baby on the screen watching him/her wiggle around. Loads of pics to take home too. Like I said, I had it on Monday so am anxiously awaiting the results any time!! Xx

Endmoor1405 · 21/07/2016 14:56

Name changed from Lucy1308

Hi all. Sorry to say I have bad news here. Private scan was waaaaayyyy behind what I expected, started bleeding three days later. EPU didn't confirm MMC until a week after that. Was booked for an ERPC a week ago today but miscarried fully the night before. I think I always knew something wasn't right. I worried so much.

I wish you all luck with the rest of your journeys. I'm going to take a break from TTC I think, can't face the worry again

LondonGirl83 · 21/07/2016 14:59

Kellz totally agree you should get it checked out. I had a scan at 7 weeks which was booked just as the spotting started. Then went to the EPU as it carried on for another couple of days. Then my most recent scan at 9+2. It wasn't really spotting, more just brownish tinted discharge when I wiped occasionally.

Honestly, the stress and illness of the first trimester can't be over with soon enough for me. I honestly think I'd like one more scan before I go on holiday at the end of next week just so I know all is still well before I get on the plane. Of course this makes no sense. My miscarriage risk after my last scan is as low as its going to be for the rest of the pregnancy statistically but still...

LondonGirl83 · 21/07/2016 15:02

Endmoor so sorry. I hope you have lots of RL support. Flowers

Kellz92 · 21/07/2016 15:08

i had brown spotting from 5-6 weeks, had pink bleed on 6+1 had a scan 6+4 but baby measured 5+2, they were happy but i worried so at 8+6 i had a private scan and baby was measuring 8+6 but now im panicking baby hasnt grown since, but i know im being silly as i still have symptoms!

yeah i know what you mean, i went and booked a gender scan today because i thought im 12 weeks on Sunday i should be fine now! But then this happens, i think im fine, but im stressing. I have my 12 week scan on 1st Aug at 13+1, then i fly on the 16th August. i wasnt worrying about the flying but i am now!

xx

Kellz92 · 21/07/2016 15:08

endmoor im so sorry honey hugs xxxxxxx

FriendlyGhost · 21/07/2016 15:12

So sorry to hear that endmoor. I hope you have plenty of support Flowers

SkyLucy · 21/07/2016 15:19

So sorry endmoor - look after yourself x

Thanks for the London scan tips everyone, hugely appreciated Smile

Readyfortwo · 21/07/2016 15:25

Thanks sausage- love the name by the way....we call DS sausage/sausage dog.

Sorry to hear of your loss endmoor

SausageDogGeorge · 21/07/2016 15:27

So sorry to hear your news Endmoor take care xx Flowers

SausageDogGeorge · 21/07/2016 15:31

Thanks! Readyfortwo I've just always dreamed of having a sausage dog called George! Smile I haven't got one though.....maybe one day! Grin

Carly6971 · 21/07/2016 15:52

kellz I think spotting after doing the deed is perfectly normal and really common. I am only extra cautious with booking things due to our loss and taking 9 years to get to this point I still am to scared to let myself believe it's real lol!! Looks like we are doing everything a day apart...I fly on 15th Aug!! Am so nervous that flying is going to do something bad...which I know is totally irrational...hoping all this worry finally stops if 12 week scan is ok on Tuesday.

endmoor so sorry for your loss. Take care of yourself. And know that although right now it doesn't feel like it, eventually in time it does get easier. Although 2 years on I constantly 'talk' to my precious little angel in the sky xx

Kellz92 · 21/07/2016 16:05

Carly I havent had it the few times so far, i have been wary doing it incase of this! thats it now until my 12 week scan lol. I have been wary but i thought since i was 12 weeks on Sunday should be fine, that was a sign to calm down lol. Ah fab where are you off to? With DD i found out while we were in Turkey so flew home at 6 weeks and all was ok so i dunno why im panicking. Hope your scan goes well.

divadee · 21/07/2016 16:09

Kellz. I had an emergency scan on Tuesday after a load of brown discharge and then blood. I had sex on Saturday and they put it down to that. They said anything from 12-72 hours is quite common to get bleeding. Get checked out just in case.

Endmoor so sorry for your loss. Xxxx

Lawyeredout thanks for that info. Monday seems so far away!!! And then a 2 week wait for the results but we do have to know.

Kellz92 · 21/07/2016 16:17

I called my midwife before EPU and she thinks it was, but EPU want to check anyway. Not going to say no to another scan, ill be 12 weeks pn Sunday then have my dating scan 8 days later at 13+1

xx
