Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Kittiwake · 19/02/2007 12:20

Thanks Kezza you have cheered me up a bit

Not that long trying, since September but I think I had a very early miscarriage in Dec.

Can't believe it has happened this month as just didn't think we had done it enough at the right time.(sorry if TMI)We were on a skiing holiday and it was so knackering there was no energy for anything else Iv'e never been skiing before and I don't think I will be repeating the experience!

KezzaG · 19/02/2007 12:43

Peacocks is a good tip for mat clothes curly, thanks. Was wondering about you after your fall, Im assuming all is ok?

Kittiwake you must be very fertile - I have been pg 4 times and every time I havent really had to try much. My friends say I get pregnant sleeping on the wet patch

thehairybabysmum · 19/02/2007 13:13

Hello everyone, especially the new girls.

Really sorry to hear Mr and Mrs Widgets news too

Hope you all had a good weekend, my waistline seems to have expanded even more over the last 3 days!! I'm eatily healthily but then i eat lots of chocolate on top which probably doesnt help either!! Glad to hear im not the only one bulging already!

I have a scan on Weds am...looking forward to it but also getting nervous as i was this far along when i had my m/c in Nov. no bleeding though so thats a good sign, plus i feel like crap most days, not sick as such just 'foggy' and bloody knackered so i take that as a good sign that things are still ticking along.

Hopefully i will get a proper EDD too as i reckon i am between 6-8 weeks...my GP gave me a date of 27th Sep last week based on LMP but i know i have a long cycle so this wont be right...hope not anyway as i like this thread and dont want to change months!!

Curlygirly · 19/02/2007 13:22

I'm fine now Kezza. Thanks for asking. The bruising will take a while to go. I think the shock of a fall is thinking what might have happened.

Hillbilly · 19/02/2007 13:35

Can I join?
My due date is 18th Oct. I have DD 20 mos and had MC last August. Live in London and hope to get into Queen Charlottes' where DD was born.
Need to have a proper read through the thread to get up to speed on everyone but def recognise a few names.
Quite nervous about this pg and trying not to think about it too much but not easy. Over the moon about it though!

Curlygirly · 19/02/2007 13:45

Welcome Hillbilly and congrats.

Hillbilly · 19/02/2007 13:49

Thanks curlygirly and sorry to hear about your fall. Glad that only some bruising. Must have been scary.

MrsMcJnr · 19/02/2007 14:51

Hello ladies, you didn?t scare me off, just been busy had a party on Sat night for 40 people. I was EXHAUSTED getting ready for it but managed to have a couple of hours sleep before everyone arrived which was just as well as I didn?t get to bed until 3am. Two of my friends are pregnant, both with their 2nd babies, one is 22 weeks and the other 9 weeks and they both have bumps ? I was dying to tell them my news but just cannot until I know things look ok. I was quite envious of their bumps and felt most inadequate which prompted me to test again yesterday! Roll on my scan on Friday!

Verso ? don?t feel bad, I would rather hear it all, the good, bad and the ugly (but am I allowed to be scared?)

Thank you for your post Taichimum ? it was really helpful and I shall bear it all in mind. What?s a doula though?!

Is it safe to do pelvic floor exercises at this stage too? I?m 7 weeks.

Congratulations Ruthydd! I shall be watching for your pub drink thread with interest!

So great to have you here Honeyapple!

Mr Widget ? SO sorry please tell Mrs Widget I?m thinking about her and of you.

Joandtheboys ? I hope you are ok, I know EXACTLY how you feel, fingers crossed it is all fine and I hope you get an early scan soon.

Kittiwake ? hello you! how lovely to see you here!! Seems like the skiing holiday worked then! I?m no longer the only one expecting my first I?m just like you, very nervous still (I?ve had spotting) and it doesn?t quite feel real yet. I think I?m 7+1 today based on my OV on CD17. I wish I was able to relax more too but hopefully that?ll come. Getting nasty headaches.

Thehairybabysmum ? hope it all goes well on Weds. I know what you mean about feeling Foggy, what a great description!

Curly ? glad you are feeling better

Congratulations HillBilly good to have you with us!!

NattyThomasandBump · 19/02/2007 15:13

CONGRATS MRSMCJNR!!! so happy for you! keep in touch hun, im 26 weeks now can u believe it!!

MrsMcJnr · 19/02/2007 15:19

Thank you 26 weeks WOW! must be quite a nice bump now! Glad things are going well for you!

Kittiwake · 19/02/2007 15:19

MrsMcJr - Glad you remember me, pleased your on here too are we the only 1st timers? it seems utterly unreal doesn't it.I am so scared and excited but trying to keep the excited bit in check until I am a bit further down the line.

Can't believe you managed to stay up until 3am I am feeling so washed out at the moment. So strange to think about everything going on in there and producing all these weird symptoms. I really have the heightend smell thing just chopped up an onion and it smelt so strong. Haven't felt sick though yet just a queasy feeling.

NattyThomasandBump · 19/02/2007 15:24

bump is here and proud! looked fat for ages this time.. and made worse by people assuming it was fat from thomas and not a baby as tom looks so young still.. hes ten months now can u believe!

MrsMcJnr · 19/02/2007 16:02

Kittiwake - I've not been sick either, just felt queasy and off from time to time, normally in waves. Very much gone off bacon, the smell of it cooking makes me queasy!

Natty - you really are going to have your hands full it'll be lovely for the LOs to be so close in age though - there's just a year between my DH and his sis and they are very close.

Hillbilly · 19/02/2007 17:48

MrsMcJnr - I had a Doula at the birth of DD and she was fabulous! Reason being that my DH was scared and not sure he could handle being in the delivery room al the time and he was unsure of how much of a help he would be to me. Also had no close family living close who could have been there for me.
Anyway she was brilliant and I met her a few times before the birth to make sure we got on well. When it came to birth time she met us at the hospital and stayed until Dd was born - 30 hrs later!!
I will route out the National Doula website for you if you like.

Hillbilly · 19/02/2007 17:55

MrsMcJnr - here's the Uk Doula site www.doula.org.uk/

Hillbilly · 19/02/2007 17:56

sorry not great with the linking!

beanie2bump · 19/02/2007 22:33

WinniethePooh · 19/02/2007 23:02

Hi
Beanie2bump welcome, and also welcome to all the others that have joined oursd numbers since I last posted

I havw not posted properly for a while as I was at my parents until saturday and have had a migrain since 4pm yesterday which is just clearing up now.

Does anyone else find that paracetemol does not touch their headaches? I have got absolutely nothing done today because of it.

I hope everyobe is well.

estobi1 · 20/02/2007 06:41

HI everyone

I have found out that number 2 is on its way on about 9th October - I am so excited I can't sleep!

Anyway it looks like we are all having golden piglets, the luckiest time accordingly to the Chinese (a golden pig year only comes once every sixty years and is supposed to bring newborn children a lot of luck in life - what a nice thought!) Anyway congrats to all the newly expectant mums.

PS I have one DD aged 2 and 1 month and I live in Colchester - would love to meet any mums near by.
xx

whoopsee · 20/02/2007 06:59

Hi beanie2bump & estobi1 and congratulations!

That's interesting about the golden pigs!

I have a day off with ds today so lookng forward to chilling out and not doing a lot

Hope everyone else is taking it easy

yawningmonster · 20/02/2007 07:54

Hi all and welcome to the new members of our long haul

estobi1 thanks for that I hadn't looked into it much for this one but my first born is the year of the monkey and boy oh boy does that fit!!!

MrsMcJnr · 20/02/2007 09:29

More spotting again today I?m so fed up with this just when I start to relax, it happens again. I am trying to tell myself that it happens, that the lack of pain is a good thing and the fact that I am shattered and emotional are all good signs but I am finding the whole ?secret life? of early pregnancy hard today. I actually have quite a lot of work to do and no inclination whatsoever to do it. Roll on Friday and the scan, I really hope it can give DH and I some comfort.

Thank you for those site details Hillbilly, I take it a doula is an experienced birth partner who?ll make sure you do the best for you and make appropriate decisions? Could be a good idea, I?ll look into it.

Beanietobump ? congratulations, hoping and praying it all goes well for you, not too long now until your scan.

Poor you Winnie ? I can empathise, the only think that is helping my migraines is sleep!

Congratulations Estobi1 ? love what you said about the golden piglets, I was born and brought up in Hong Kong but didn?t know the significance of the golden pig

Have a lovely day Whoopse!

Hello YawningMonster ? how are you doing?

WinniethePooh · 20/02/2007 09:33

HI all,

MrsMc, sorry you are getting more spotting, hopefully it is nothing too untoward.

My migraine has finally clearted up, so I can get on with the stuff hat I should have done yesterday.

Mumpbump · 20/02/2007 09:47

Morning all! Hope you're all hale and hearty today...

Hello to B2B and estobi1 and many congratulations... Fingers crossed in particular for B2B. Have you seen the pg after m/c thread as well? There are a scary number of us on there...

I am definitely beginning to put on weight. My bust is finally back to its normal, full pre-baby self (hurray!!) and one of my suits is feeling a bit snug on the waist. Plus those pg hormones are running wild. I was reading Emma's Diary on the train - just the bit where she finds out she's pg - and started welling up. How crazy is that??? Poor dh - I'm crying at absolutely anything at the moment, but he's very tolerant, fortunately!!

beanie2bump · 20/02/2007 10:30

morning guys and thanks for the warm welcome,,, i am feeling rather concerned, at the lack of sickness, with both of my full term pregnancies i was sick non stop from 5 weeks, im 7 plus 2 days (i think) and no sickness at all, i (mc) in august 06 and started spotting at 6 (3) days, and had no sickness then at all as well,, i know i am a little further along but rather worried,,, about the sickess, my mum says i may be having a girl this time, as both where boys before, (think she is trying to make me feel better,
i have a lady coming around to do my nails and some papmering soon, so that should help keep my mind off things for a hour, lol.,..
I nver had any bleeding with my first two pregnancies, and although i have not this time fingers crossed i am very worried,,,
Very excieted about this preg,, just hope it works out,
