Hello....

Had my BFP a couple of days ago, spent a lot of time on the TTC boards (hi Greedy, hi MrsmcJnr...any others I know?) hoping it's not going to go tits up and i end up back there...

Might just go and post on the stats thread...

whoopsee · 18/02/2007 10:06

Congratulations HA

I recognise you from the ttc board!

dh shocked me yesterday he did the shopping and bought fish making sure it was 100% cod so that there was no wirry of it containing bits of shark I was impressed he knew about that!!

Hope you are all having a good weekend!

honeyapple · 18/02/2007 10:08

Just wanted to say- It's part of the whole thing isnt it? Listening to gory birth stories? I love them!! But one gory story definitely doesnt mean another one...
I think what Taichimum said about finding out as much as you can when it's your first baby is great advice. I had my head stuck completely in the clouds when I had DS... and had a fairly unpleasant birth experience... subsequently birth with DD was really good.
I think if you know a lot then you feel more in control. But having said that nothing really prepares you for birth until you've been through it yourself.

honeyapple · 18/02/2007 10:09

Hi whoopsee! Thanks for the welcome.

buffythenappyslayer · 18/02/2007 10:45

hi everyone!!hows everyone doing?

well,im feeling so emotional and teary!bloody hormones!!i keep crying at the stupidest things!!

dh is doing an RTC course for the firebrigade and when he left this morning, that was it,tears everywhere!!last night i said about getting a cheap twin pram as we dont know how long dd will be in it (she will be 3 when the baby arrives but has cf and asthma and gets out of breath when she walks,so she might be in a pushchair for longer),anyway,dh said "you might as well get an expensive one 'cos you'll only change your mind and buy different ones until you find the one you like",not nasty i know, but that had me in tears!!

then this morning i tried to get my jeans on,cried because they were too tight!!!

gawd,roll on october!!!

it just seems too early to be putting weight on!!gonna cry again now!!!

WidgetWB · 18/02/2007 16:04

This is Widget's husband. She wanted me to let you all know that she was rushed into hospital on Friday with a suspected ectopic having had three days of agonising craps in her tummy but no bleeding. Finally I couldn't take anymore of watching her in pain and the doctors saying it was fine, so took her in. She was admitted immediately, scanned and the sonographer said it was ectopic and she was rushed into theatre where they removed the baby and the left fallopian tube. There was a lot of blood floating around her system which was very dangerous. Luckily the other tube is fine for next time. All the doctors said that its fairly common when you take the morning after pill to get an ectopic. Shame they don't say that on the packet! She is ok, coming out of hospital today and we have help with the boys till she is able to carry and drive. I am sure she will be in touch soon. It was interesting to know about Lissielou too, that story really touched her, and then it happened to her too which was freaky. If Lissielou is out there I am sure Widget would love to talk to her when she is back on the computer.

lissielou · 18/02/2007 16:08

oh no, poor thing! my thoughts are with you all at this scary time. please give her all my love and hugs and im thinking about her.

words fail me. my email addy is [email protected] if she needs to talk.

oh no widget Sorry to hear this Hope you get some support from MN when you get out of hospital. And Mr Widget, hope you're going ok too. What a shock.

I haven't posted for ages as have been feeling completely utterly exhausted. We made it out for lunch today and straight after I could have just lain down there in the town centre for a snooze! DS isn't sleeping too great so I think we're all out of sorts. I feel soooooo guilty about DH having to do so much to keep everything together...

Weighed myself at work yesterday... I have put on 2kg since finding out I was pregnant ! I cannot stop eating! KezzaG I have also been opening and shutting the fridge, cupboards in earnest! I have going to mahooooosive!

HelloMama · 18/02/2007 16:23

JoandtheBoys, I too had some spotting yesterday - just dark browny stuff mixed in with the mucous when wiping (sorry, TMI). Seems to have settled today though. I think this is the time (5-6 weeks) when the placenta starts to take over from the ovarian follicle that supports the embryo in the early stages, until the placenta is developed, so it may be proper implantation bleeding. I am trying not to worry.

HelloMama · 18/02/2007 16:24

Oh, I am MrsBee BTW ! Just gone back to my regular posting name now everyone knows our news!

Verso · 18/02/2007 17:15

Widget and hubby you have my sympathy. Must have been a horrible experience, but I'm glad Widget is ok and the other tube is fine for next time. {{{hugs}}}

Joandtheboys I had quite a bit of spotting with DD and ended up having a scan at 8wks, but she was absolutely fine. I hope you get reassurance soon.

Buffy - count me in on the seeeeerious weepiness.

Yawning/ruthydd - I'm finding it difficult to squeeze into my trousers too... God knows what I'm going to wear at work for the next month or so while it's meant to be secret . Thing is, I recently joined a gym and everyone knows I go three times a week, so I daresay they'll all be bemused by my rapidly expanding girth. And it is expanding!

(Wish I could say I was a twiglet to start off with but alas I never got rid of the baby weight (er... Cadburys Dairy Milk) I accumulated with DD! )

THANK GOD FOR 'TUNICS'

KezzaG · 18/02/2007 19:40

Evening all. Mr Widget so sorry to hear your news. Well done for taking conrol of the situation and getting Widget to hospital. I hope she makes as good a recovery as is possible.

Joandtheboys and HelloMama, how worrying. Im sure your explanation is right HelloMama and it is just implanation bleed. I have my fingers crossed for you both. Do you have any pain? When I had my mc's I had aching legs and hips, period pain and a sore back so if it is just a small bit of spotting Im sure it will be ok.

Welcome Honeyapple and Ruthydd, hope everything is going well for you.

I have made an effort to eat less today, it has kind of worked! I took my ds to a minature steam engine today and we had a lovely time, but suddenly I was starving and I practically threws him back in his carseat at home time so I could race hone to eat. theres no hunger like pregnancy hunger.

Curly have you posted since your fall? hope you are ok. And Sneaks how are you doing?

buffythenappyslayer · 18/02/2007 20:04

verso count me in on your expansion!!!im having trouble fitting into my trousers aswell!!which starts me off crying!!!

kezza, you can count me in on your hunger!!i cant believe that im constantly hungry aswell!!i eat and about an hour later my belly is rumbling away!!its waking me up during the night aswell!i wake up starving!!im gonna be the size of a bus if this carries on!!!im not even being sick anymore, its all staying down!

KezzaG · 18/02/2007 20:48

buffy I have just checked the stats and this is your 6th! I forgot you were the crazy 6 baby lady

I am bloody impressed you even fit in to trousers with a waistband. I still have an extra stone from ds, so if I gained at that rate and had 6 kids......well lets just say the upper size range of Evans would be just about right for me!

whoopsee · 19/02/2007 06:21

So sorry to hear your news Widget & Mr Widget

my waistband seems to be increasing to although after not shifting weight from 2 babies it just looks like I am getting fatter rather than pregnant! at least I know why! although I do have a few pairs of trousers that were quite loose so I am getting away with wearing those at the moment!

luckily I'm not wanting to eat a huge amount more at the moment although I do have shaky moments which I seem to need to eat loads before they go!

yawningmonster · 19/02/2007 07:02

my thoughts with you widget and family and I hope that lissielou is around as someone who has not been through this such as myself can never know what you are going through.

WinniethePooh · 19/02/2007 08:08

So sorry to hear your news Widhet * Mr Widget.

My thoughtsa are with you both.

Mumpbump · 19/02/2007 10:29

for Widget and Mr. Widget. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

Kittiwake · 19/02/2007 10:40

Hi all

Sorry to hear Mr and Mrs Widgets news.

Can I join in? Just got a positive at weekend but feeling very nervous and paranoid as yesterday had stomach pains. They have calmed down today but I am now feeling every little twinge. No spotting or bleeding though.

I am 32 as is DH we live in Mid-Wales and it will be first time for us if it works out. I will be 6 weeks today I think. GP appt booked for Thursday.

I can't believe I'm feeling so negative would be nice to be enjoying these early days!

How is everyone else feeling today?

buffythenappyslayer · 19/02/2007 11:25

kezza, yep im the crazy no.6 lady!!!

when was pg with dd3 last time i lost 3 stone in weight instead of putting it on!!ive got underactive thyroid and gp never checked after she upped my dose of thyroxine!

after i had had dd3 they checked and gave me the right dose so my weight came back on!

also last time i couldnt keep anything down, this time i cant stop eating!!am mainly living in jogging bottoms when im home and a pair of jeans that were too big for me anyway when i go out!!!

had a good cry this morning!!bloody telly!!watched that gene detectives and when the woman met her dad and started crying i joined her!!how daft do i feel!!??!!!

KezzaG · 19/02/2007 11:34

God bless jogging bottoms

I cried at Jason Orange mentioning his dad at the Brits, and yesterday I sponsored someone on line who is running the marathon in memory of her sister who died of adult sudden death syndrome and sobbed like a baby at the comments on the sponsorship page. This level of raw emotion cant be good!

Welcome Kittiwake and congratulations. Im sure someone on here posted some info about stomach pains being hormone related. I know I have had twinges that are like a stitch, and a bit of a tummy upset so it is more than likely just normal. Have you been trying long?

Curlygirly · 19/02/2007 12:14

Afternoon all.

So sorry to read your news widget.

Hello to all the newbies.

Got myself some maternity clothes in Peacocks today. They said they only started selling them last week. Bargain!

Been feeling sooo hungry. I lost loads of weight last year and it is so going to pile on again.

honeyapple · 19/02/2007 12:15

hi kittiwake!
Congratulations!
Please try not to worry about tummy pains too much, I think they are quite normal at this stage of pregnancy. I have been having the odd twinge now and then too. If they get worse or more frequent then it is worth mentioning to GP. I did with DD and had an early scan to check everything was ok- which fortunately it was.

I am feeling strangely unpregnant at the moment, and keep wondering really if i am. Almost to the point of going to buy a test... I guess PG symptoms take a couple of weeks to kick in... I can't remember! The only thing that is different are my boobs- bigger and sorer!
