Sneaks · 07/02/2007 22:18

No he's still pretty much being insensitive and I just feel very alone and upset right now.
Haven't seen him yet and right now i dont even want to. I cannot believe how horrible he is being to me.

WinniethePooh · 08/02/2007 09:11

God morning everyone,

How are you all today?

Arte you all enjoying the snow?

DD's school is closed today, so I might take her to the park later.

MrsMcJnr · 08/02/2007 10:30

Lissie - will be thinking of you today

Sneaks - sorry to hear you are still down, we're here for you.

Where's the best place to go to get measured up for a new bra/maternity bra?

tinytotmummy · 08/02/2007 10:35

sneaks really feel for you, we are all here to support you and you can moan at me whenever you like! Sending you big hugs

Snow! What snow! its just chuffing cold here..DS is desperate for snow so he can make snow balls. Last time we had snow he had just turned two and he didn't like it - refused to walk on it. He's soo fussy.

tinytotmummy · 08/02/2007 10:37

I went to M&S last time, they were very helpful. Also NCT have a bra measuring service as well, you'd have to contact your local one. Mothercare as well, though never tried them.

MrsMcJnr · 08/02/2007 10:44

Thnaks TinytotMummy - no snow to speak of with us either!

greedyforbabies · 08/02/2007 10:48

i think NCT classes are great by the way! i might do some refresher classes this time so i can remember what to do! i really shouldnt have forgotten having given birth twice in the past 3 1/2 years, but i feel like i cant remember anything. its also nice to meet other couples who will have babies the same age! i would REALLY recommend them to you mrs cos i know this is your first baby. who else is on their first by the way?

tinytotmummy · 08/02/2007 10:55

I ahve to confess I've never been to an ante-natal class! I would like to go this time, but not sure how much I will get out of it?

greedyforbabies · 08/02/2007 11:00

have your births been straight forward in the past tinytotmummy? mine have both been pretty good and i am convinced its cos i did everything i was meant to at the right time and kept in control (as in control as you can when in complete agony!). i wouldn't have known what to do without the classes so i thought they were fab, but i know some of my friends thought they were a bit too hippy and flowery with all the natural childbirth talk, especially the NCT ones!

MrsMcJnr · 08/02/2007 11:04

How do you find out about them Greedy and get a space?

greedyforbabies · 08/02/2007 11:48

dont panic yet mrs! - one of my friends was told to ring the NCT when she was 12 wks to get booked on their AN classes, but i didnt ring till about 20 wks and still got on. there should be a no. in the yellow pages for the National Childbirth Trust or on the internet and then give will give you local details. you do like to be organised dont you mrs!?

MrsMcJnr · 08/02/2007 12:28

Cool Not panicking, I do just like to be organised, that's all! . Spoke to MW this morning (as I explained on the other thread Greedy, I should be able to get the forms to fill in later on) and she told me that dating scan will be between 12 & 14 weeks if all ok at 7 week one. If everything is ok, I think I'll book a private scan just before Mother's Day so that we can tell our Mums and have something to show them (I'll hopefully be 11 weeks by then).

manitz · 08/02/2007 14:08

hi am being extra early with this but if I'm correct I'll be due with no 3 on 16oct. Had v faint lines on tests so watching out incase it's ectopic or doesn't work or something but thought here's the place to be excited as I can't in rl! Been ttc since sept.

Have two dd's 3.11 and 2 might like a boy though I hear they have wee issues. Really getting ahead of myself here...

MrsMcJnr · 08/02/2007 14:15

Congratulations!! enjoy that secret smile hope all works out for you.

My trip to M&S for a bra ended in a row the woman who measured me was SO rude. She was a lot stouter and bigger busted than me and refused to believe that I was an E cup before I inflated anyway, after 15 infuriating minutes of trying on bras way too big in the back (I could get my whole hand in between the bra and my rib cage - she claimed I was a 38, normally I'm a 32) and too tight in the cup, I decided to make my excuses and go somewhere else

ejt1764 · 08/02/2007 15:21

MrsMc - I have had exactly the same problem with M&S before now - I'm not at all impressed with their fitting service.

Much as I don't like what it stands for, I found the best service at Mothercare - although there's a lovely shop in Cardiff called Swells, who are way, way better - but may be a bit far for you to travel!

ejt1764 · 08/02/2007 15:22

Hi Manitz - congratulations!! I have a ds - and have been contributing to the potty training thread!! It's not so much wee issues, as there being some many more places it can go - ds weed in his own eye when about 3 weeks old - and was very cross to whoever had just done that!!

ejt1764 · 08/02/2007 15:25

info about the NCT antenatal classes can be found here

I did NCT classes with ds - the teacher was useless, but I met other people in the same boat, and we're still in contact nearly 5 years after we first met - we go out together, and organise trips together - it's fab.

I would advise you gettting in sooner rather than later if you live in Southern England, as they tend to fill up pretty quickly!

I'm not intending to go on a refresher course, but that's because I would rather use babysitting time to do other things with dh!

MrsMcJnr · 08/02/2007 15:27

Ejt - as it happens, I am going to Cardiff this weekend to visit my sister so I shall visit Swells - thank you!

ejt1764 · 08/02/2007 15:41

bleeding typical - I just found the shop - they've changed their name to baban - they're site is here - and they've closed the shop [weeps] the clothes in there were pricey, but when I went there for my feeding bras with ds, it was like being looked after by an indulgent aunt! Mind you - they've got an online presence now - so not only Cardiffians can benefit!

They've also got a bra fitting service...
'ACAD suite at Bupa Hospital, Nr Pentwyn - Every Thursday evening from 6pm - Please call for an appointment' hmmmm - may have to go up there!

ejt1764 · 08/02/2007 15:41

Mrs McJnr - where does your sister live?

ejt

StrangeTown · 08/02/2007 15:47

Manitz - congrats and welcome .

Greedy, I'm another on my first like MrsM.
Bit paranoid at moment as when I was pregant last year I felt sick constantly from 4-11 weeks. (I had missed m/c at 12) but this time, no sickness at all. Those of you who have had more than one pregancy have you experienced this? Sick with one and not the other?
Sneaks - hope you are hanging in there, have you spoken to DP yet?

How is everyone else? Hope those a bit further along keep checking back in to give us an update!

MrsMcJnr · 08/02/2007 15:47

no idea! never been there before! Noticed that Edinburgh is full of Welsh supporters already!

Thanks for all that info

ejt1764 · 08/02/2007 15:50

MrsMc - one of them is my sister ... she sent me a text saying she's in a pub - and that she chose that one because it had Welsh flags flying ...

Have a lovely time in Cardiff ...

Afternoon, looking for a bit of grown up company. Ds1's nursery was closed because of the snow and apart from snowman building haven't been anywhere or seen a sole all day.

Ds2 seems to have decided it is his goal to destroy as much of our house before bedtime.

Feeling bit hormonal!

whoopswithminiwhoopstinybump · 08/02/2007 15:52

Hi All,

I got my last maternity bra's from M & S but also got measured in mothercare and they cane back with different sizes! I am putting up with what I have at the moment as my boobs don't seem to have changed much!

On the potty training issue my dd was a lot easier than ds she was using the toilet just before her 2nd birthday she is now 3 and we have only just stopped having issues with ds and he is 5!

It's really weird for me at the moment as I hardly feel pregnant today I'm not feeling sick or tired I am seeing the doctor on wednesday so may see if I can get a scan to check everything is ok!
