Thanks so much for reassurance Lissie.
I dont see my gp for another 3 weeks.
I think it works a little differently here in ireland. Combined care. Probably wont see a mw until im 14-15 weeks and I'm "booked" in at the hospital.
I also have to move within that time. As currently my partner is 200miles away from me, was planning to move up anyway very soon, but this has just put a total rush on it now.

lissielou · 05/02/2007 10:46

ps, scan is on tuesday

Haven't tried rice cakes - may give them a go ... I'm able to eat crackers - anything sweet just makes me puke straight away - am now only able to drink water as squash is too sweet....

ugh!

this is a good thing this is a good thing this is a good thing this is a good thing .... repeating ad infinitum!

Whats a good thing.. being sick a good thing?
A good sign like ? Feeling queasy and stuff.
Jesus I cant help feeling so anxious today. What the hell is wrong with me

ejt1764 · 05/02/2007 10:59

Sneaks - horribly sick = good for me - it may not be for you!

When pg with ds, I had the following: hyperemesis, spd, displaced coccyx - and hated pg so much I vowed never to do it again. However, I was the only person in my antenatal class to get so disgusting sick. They all had their 2nd (those that wanted them) fairly close together.

When I got pg for the 2nd time, I just felt vaguely nauseous - and thought I would be kucky and get away with it - which I did, but only because I mc!

3rd pg, nausea and vomiting, but cope-able with - stopped at 9 weeks or so .... mmc discovered at 13 weeks at dating scan.

So, for me, although I feel absolutely wretched, it's a good sign, as this pg is progressing just as it did with ds - my only successful pg to date.

You may be one of the lucky ones who doesn't get sick! My friend who has never had any nausea at all is now on her 3rd child! Try not to let my paranoia get you down!!

love

sneaks have you looked on babycentre.co.uk

They have an ask the experts section. I am not amember but imagine if you joined up you could ask them about the discharge. I couldnt find anything on there about a pale orange colour, but the general consensous seems to be that unless it is proper blood or clots then it is ok. I knew 3 people who had rusty coloured discharge when they went for a number 2, I think the straining pushed out any old bit of blood and stuff. I know that is way tmi but if we cant be honest here...... They all have healthy babies now.

I had an anxious day on Saturday. I think it was because I had a big day planned out with family, and I was convinced something was going to go wrong and I would start bleeding, and they wouldnt know, and I would have to hide it.

The phrase emotional rollercoaster doesnt come close does it. I wasnt like this first time round Im sure.

Sneaks · 05/02/2007 11:10

Hi EJT , Yeah I understand what you mean about the sickness. . I guess I'm just as you say feeling paranoid and over anxious today. The raging hormones cant be helping. Just broke down in tears there again (Siiiiiiiigh)
I hear Arrowroot biscuits are good for morning sickness btw.

And Kezza thank you so much for your reply, it made me feel a lot better - youre right you know .. this feels so much different on my second child than on my first. On DD1 I wasnt half as worried about the shaky first 12weeks. It never really even crossed my mind. Even when I was brought in for threatened ectopic at 8 weeks! Though back then I had a lot of other stuff on my mind as well. As the "sperm doner" had deserted us so I was on my own and very depressed.

KezzaG · 05/02/2007 11:15

God coping on your own first time round must have been hard. I have found that this time having a toddler makes it so much more stressful. you cant just get in from work and put your feet up for 5 minutes, and I am really finding that the extra tiredness makes everything seem so much worse.

No one warns you that pregnancy is like this do they? Im sure when I was younger I thought it was all natural and wonderful and just something that happend, when in reality its a bloody nightmare!

worth it in the end though I guess (until they get to teenagers )

ejt1764 · 05/02/2007 11:17

Sneaks - I just want to send you hugs and support! (Just don't rub my back or I may puke!) We're here for each other - my dh is incredibly thankful I've found mn, as it takes the pressure off him a little! You carry on getting hormonal and paranoid - we'll carry on soothing you!

Kezza - I cannot believe how I sailed through pg with ds - he was a (happy) accident, and although I was ill, I didn't have a worry in the world - now though - well, kca says it all really!

haha yes I feel your pain . My 3year old (who has special needs .. spastic diplegia a form of cerebral palsy ) is currently watching Hi 5 thank god, so I'm just sitting here enjoying these sweats and nausea that seem to be coming over me!
As I was saying before my partner and I live about 200 miles away from eachother at the moment, we've been together a year and a half - seeing eachother every week and I was already in the process of planning out and organising to move up there before this nice surprise landed in our laps :D so its going to be tough for the next few weeks dealing with early pregnancy and trying to sort out a move a little quicker than at first thought!
I cant wait to see him this weekend . Miss him so much.

Sneaks · 05/02/2007 11:24

Ejt hee heee ok well I wont rub your back if you stop being so nice to me because I keep getting all teary and sobby!
LOL thanks chick.

KezzaG · 05/02/2007 11:27

Blimey sneaks, I promise not to moan too much as you are having a tough time and it puts my whinges into perspective. I hope your move happens soon and easily, you need your dp with you for cuddles and support.

And thank god for childrens tv What did people do before it????

Sneaks · 05/02/2007 11:32

I have NO idea what I did Kezza, LOL I used to only have 2 channels in this house.
I got sky digital in last year and holy god its a godsend! Cbeebies and CNtoo .. what a distraction !

ejt1764 · 05/02/2007 12:05

DS is getting a lot of input from cbeebies at the moment! Ah well, he'll cope!!

Sneaks - I will stop being so nice to you if you want! Hoping that you and dp get together really soon. I'm really impressed that you're coping with dc on your own ....

MrsMcJnr · 05/02/2007 12:40

Congratulations Mrs Bee

Having tummy trouble today, opposite of constipation though

Hope everyone is well today

whoopswithminiwhoopstinybump · 05/02/2007 15:09

My midwife rang today I have booking in appointment on the 8/3 it seems so far away but I'll be 10 weeks then!
She asked if i wanted an early scan and other screening tests I said of course to the scan!
MrsMcJnr- I seem to be like that too didn't get constipated on my other 2 either!

MrsMcJnr · 05/02/2007 15:24

Like the sound of your midwife Whoops! It does seem a long way off doesn't it but I guess we'll soon be 10 weeks. I am to make an appointment with the midwife tomorrow when I call the GP's surgery for the results of today's pregnancy test - providing they are still positive of course, feeling very anxious about the whole thing, really silly!

whoopswithminiwhoopstinybump · 05/02/2007 15:27

lol at if they're still positive!
I told my Mum at the weekend that I was going to tell my Dad - she suggested that I waited til it was confirmed - I told her I ad done several test already!
dh was a bit shocked as he thought I'd only done the one!!

J20BABY · 05/02/2007 16:40

good afternoon everyone. hope you've all had a good day

lissielou · 05/02/2007 18:02

brief visit to see how everyone is. been vvvv ill today. sick, migraine and exhausted! might go back to bed in a bit

OP posts:
ejt1764 · 05/02/2007 18:55

lissie - hope you feel better very very soon. Migraine sucks! Have you tried acupuncture for it? I used to have dreadful migraine, and was certain I didn;t want to have to take the drugs whilst pg (18 months ago), so went to see acupuncturist - she sorted it out, and I've only had 2 in the past 18 months!

Hi J20 - hope you're ok too!

Was in bed by 8pm last night - it won't be much later tonight either ... but I need to wash my hair as I've been too yucky to contemplate it - but now it's absolutely minging!

MrsBee · 05/02/2007 19:11

Sorry to all of you who have been feeling so sick. This Blooming Awful website is really useful and gives lots of information about nausea in pregnancy and tips on how to deal with it.

I was wondering when you all visited your GP to let them know about the pregnancy? I know usually the sooner the better so you get fed into your local booking in system for scan etc, but is there such a thing as too soon?! Should I wait until my period is at least late i.e. a couple more days? Or is just having a positive pregnancy test enough?? Sorry if this is a silly question, I just wondered when everyone else had their appointment!

KezzaG · 05/02/2007 19:15

Hi MrsBee. At my gp's they only ask to see you at 8 weeks. Dont know if it differs elsewhere, might be worth checking with them. 8 weeks felt like an eternity to me last time.

whoopswithminiwhoopstinybump · 05/02/2007 19:18

Mrs Bee - I have booked an appointment with the gp but is in 2 weeks so then phoned the surgery and they told me I didn't have to see the gp and they would pass my details to the midwives I had a call from them today to make the booking in appoinment. I am going to keep the gp app for now though
