Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
aprilmeadow · 27/01/2007 16:49

I love the colour of your dress! Really beautiful

ShowOfHands · 27/01/2007 16:51

Thank you AM, brownie points for saying Nice Things about funny looking bride.

ShowOfHands · 27/01/2007 16:52

Please note I had a waistline too...

[wistful]

Right im back

Im loving the insight into daughters dating at 11, it brings back lots of memories. I always liked boys, even when i was 5 i aways had a 'boyfriend' Ive still got a christmas present one of them bought me when we were 7 but it was all innocent. Then i started seniors, oh boy is that a fun time for parents, that was the first time they actually had to put up with boys calling for me. They used to have trouble remembering who was who I was always sweet and innocent though i was just too young to settle down with one boy

Remebering that time in my life has made me smile, its bringing back all those memories of first kisses (esp when the time you suddenly feel the boys tongue slip into your mouth and you wonder what all the fuss is about)your first proper love (mine was called gareth and he was gorgeous) then your first proper break up and how you feel like the world has ended and you will never be happy again (until the next gorgeous boy asks you out that is) Oh what fond memeries, im so glad that part of my life is over (although i wouldnt mind seeing Gareth again lol)

Im dreading when ds1 gets older he has always had girls after him (even my niece's 13 yr old friend fancies him)but i hope he has been bought up to treat them better than some of the males ive met The thought of him dating is hilarious at the moment, he is only 9 and unless a girl was a mad footie fanatic then she wouldnt get much attention from him, hopefully he will stay that way and then meet a lovely girl when he is 25 and settle down (save me all the worry but somehow i dont think it works like that)

Im so pleased with myself, i went out today and bought two gorgeous long tops and a pair of leggings (i never thought i would wear them again but they are fashionable again and so comfy i can actually get away with it even though i look like a hippo lol)I also managed to get a sexy black knee length maternity dress and a tankini from ebay last night so all in all it has been a successful shopping weekend. I just hope the dress and tankini look alright and arrive before i go away

ds2 has officially wrecked his bedroom, ok its only his toys and they can be put away but it looks such a mess, he has also made an assault course with his big toys and toy boxes and is jumping across them and then climbing up the bunk beds and then down again without actually using the ladder. Im sure i gave birth to a monkey and not a boy I now have to fun task of trying to stop him, if you hear screaming its coming from my house

twelveyeargap · 27/01/2007 17:01

Look at you! You're beautiful! Is that DH in the bottom photo as well? Had to ask, as obv is rather different from wedding pic. That bottom pic is lovely.

Was just searching for images of the VERY attractive spectacles I chose for myself aged 13. This is the closest I could find. Mine were tortoiseshell...

Wonder if I have any pictures on the other laptop. Will go and check. Maybe I can be bothered to do a profile page today.

ShowOfHands · 27/01/2007 17:06

Yes that's my DH now! I think he's lovely and got such a ribbing from his friends for growing his hair long (part-time personal trainer- had to wear an alice band to teach classes).

I wear specs now and they're very geeky. They're similar to this

Once a geek...

I am a librarian!

aprilmeadow · 27/01/2007 17:15

they are quite funky. My boss has a similar style and thinks he is the muts nuts!

ShowOfHands · 27/01/2007 17:18

I think they stop me tripping over my book trolley. I've had them for about 4 years and was an undergrad, bookish young thing when I first got them. I think I've outgrown them, but I care not!

twelveyeargap · 27/01/2007 17:31

I like those ones!

I found the cd rom of my wedding pics and some pics on the laptop from our Christmas holiday 2005... Best I could do. Does my little profile thingy appear in the posts now?

ShowOfHands · 27/01/2007 17:37

Can't see it TYG. Are your privacy settings allowing everybody to look at it?

twelveyeargap · 27/01/2007 17:38

Oh, it's there now I think. Roll up... Going to take them down after the weekend. DH will kick my ass for having his pic on the net.

ShowOfHands · 27/01/2007 17:43

Ooh pretty lady. You're so glamorous! And that must be DD looking very like you.

Your DH reminds me of somebody but I can't think who atm. I'll ponder it and get back to you...

aprilmeadow · 27/01/2007 17:45

you look gorgeous!!

will try and locate mine!

aprilmeadow · 27/01/2007 17:46

i thought he looked like a footballer

aprilmeadow · 27/01/2007 17:49

also a touch of David Arquette on the ski picture

ShowOfHands · 27/01/2007 18:02

Tee hee. Was just googling 'courtney cox husband' as that's who he reminded me of. He does look like David Arquette!

Lwatkins · 27/01/2007 18:14

Well saw midwife and as if things weren't sh*y enough as it is, SPD! It's soooo painful, boo hoo! But at least i know what it is and that there is f**k all i can do about it. Sorry for awful language recently but it happens when i'm angry and stressed - a lot! Now have a splitting headache and feel like just crawling into my bed, but even that is painful and i cant get comfortable. God i feel like all i ever do is moan anymore. I'm getting to the point where i'm sick of moaning about moaning!

ShowOfHands · 27/01/2007 18:17

Lwatkins you poor thing. Be kind to yourself and don't worry about venting on here. SPD, I hear, is horrific. Is there anything you can do? And at least you know what it is and the baby is fine.

Just seen on your profile that you like Black Books. Excellent, I have them all on DVD. Have you seen any of Dylan Moran's stand-up? It's terrific!

Lwatkins · 27/01/2007 18:20

Hey, another Dylan Moran fan - am impressed and now happy! Yeah i have his Monster dvd, but still have to get his latest one. I absolutely love his comedy, really into Bill Baileys as well. Have all black books series and never tire of them. Infact.....bed, black books and a bacon sarnie - sound pretty good to me right now! I fonly i had some ketchup! I'm never gonna let that one go you know!!!!

Lwatkins · 27/01/2007 18:22

Nothing i can do for the spd except taking it easy and trying to relax and not aggrivate (sp) it even further. It feels like my pubic bone is splitting in 2 at the mo, not very pleasent.

twelveyeargap · 27/01/2007 18:35

He'd be chuffed if he knew! Must try to find some reasonably recent ones and update. Bit crap not being able to find anything more recent than '05! Yes, that's DD. She looks MUCH more teenager-y now with her pimples and oft-greasy hair.

Poor you LW. I wonder can you get referred to an obstetric physio on the nhs. Worth asking about.

aprilmeadow · 27/01/2007 19:29

LW, OUCH! Sorry to hear that it is SPD. Take it easy and go for the bacon sarnie and if you have the ingredients make some squidge! I made some and have eaten half already. All you need is rice krispies, mars bars and butter!

Frenchsmallfry · 27/01/2007 19:32

SOH you look nothiing like I imagined, funny isn't it how you have a picture of someone in your head when you don't actually know them. Your pictures are beautiful and yes you have a fantastic tiny waist line, I actually like long hair on men! except on my dh, he has NO hair and I like him that way.

TYG you and dh look amazing, and your daughter definately takes your beauty. Mental note to find the most gorgeous un famous person to add to my profile, no one would know!! Actually thats a lie, some of you have seen me on MSN, damn!! AND you are a skiier!! Yey, where was the pic taken?

I'll try to add some to mine although my computer is filled with mainly ds and dd. Don't think I even have a photo of dh and I together?

Sorry about the spd LW, just another thing to add to your stress.

I am another very late starter, I was still playing with barbie I think at 13. I was always the fat teenager of the group, popular with the lads but always their best friend and NOTHING more, I kidded myself that I was the lucky one but I spent my whole time being matchmaker and agony aunt for every one else. Funny how it turns out though, I may have been the last to start but I definately got the best first, I was the first to get married and the first to have the wonderful family. Now my old friends some of which are still wandering between men but desparately want to settle down often say, I want one like yours. He may not be a mag lad but he is the best dh and Dad.

Did you get to the beach lg&t? Nearly bed time for them, you might get chance to relax for a moment. I long for ds's bed time from about lunch time. lol

OP posts:
JonahB · 27/01/2007 19:43

Evening ladies,

Well, I can't keep up at all. Sorry. I have gathered though the LG&T is sending REAL cakes to people. OMG!!! How do I get one .......????????

Only messing LG&T.....

Lwatkins, my skimming has told me you have SPD. This won't help your pain at all, however, I suspect I have the same here. Last pgy, i got pains in my hips, but this is different. The pains are exactly in the right place for SPD and g-d it does hurt. I do empathise. I'm seeing my MW in a couple of weeks, so I'll report back then. I believe, like you say, there's nothing they can do about it .

Well, I wanted to let you know that I've finally bumped into Intheseshoes - as stalker's go, she strikes me as fairly normal . ITS - it was lovely to finally meet you today and your DS seemed a real sweetie!!!! Now, you know we'll be bumping into each other EVERYWHERE.

Not much else from here. I've just bought a Mclaren Techno on e-bay which I'm going to collect tomorrow. Getting lots of kicks from bump. My curry is on it's way and a very very lovely friend of mine, who works for a certain chocolate company, brought me a carrier bag FULL of chocolate last night. FULL!!! there were about 70 bars in there. If i wasn't happily married, i'd have considered kissing him .

Hope you are all okay,....

aprilmeadow · 27/01/2007 19:55

Jonah, Techno XT's are great. I have one for ds.
