A home for all of us enjoying the surreality of the first trimester. We're sick as dogs, exhausted to the core, our boobs hurt, we've developed superhuman senses of smell and we're shirking all alcoholic bevvies with a variety of lame excuses...

...we're preggers and over the moon! Join us if you're due in February 2017 and fancy wisdom for the weirdness, support for any sadness, and a safe place where you can get excited about what the future holds, before you go public!

Third thread already (we're a chatty bunch!) Second thread here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2662110-Due-in-February-2017-thread-2?

So pleased to read the happy scan news this morning! Smile

My 2.10yr old dd is watching far too much tv at the moment but it's the only way I can get through the day. Also we seem to have reintroduced an afternoon bf which I didn't really want to do but at least it means I can shut my eyes for 5 minutes and have a cuddle!
She keeps asking to see the baby so I've been showing her the little pics on the pregnancy+ app, she finds it hilarious.

I definitely feel like I've got a bump already, but I think people will just think I've put on weight tbh. I feel bloated all over from eating so much rubbish, it's all I can vaguely stomach.

Evergreen17 · 03/07/2016 09:24

Kellz how adorable is to wash the baby in your tummy?!! SmileSmileSmile

Evergreen17 · 03/07/2016 09:31

Cravings yesterday were mad
Tomato soup and crisps
I have eaten tomato soup like 3 times in my life. Weird

My 12 week scan will be the day before my wedding!! SmileSmile hoping everything is ok. 4th of August Smile
I am also taking my driving test that week so... much will happen!
Ceecee I will be 12+1 according to lmp but I am pretty sure I ovulated two days late. (So probably 11+6)

Friendly I am 7+4 today Smile

Nice scan London Smile

Sienna9522 · 03/07/2016 11:07

I have an early scan on Wednesday. So excited but nervous at the same time!

theremarkablerocket · 03/07/2016 11:23

Lovely to hear all the good scan news!

Am still bleeding steadily, veering between optimistic (no pain or clots/ started to feel pretty nauseous) and pessimistic (how can this much bleeding end well/this stage last time I was vomming into bins on the way to work). Roll on tomo morning...

SkyLucy · 03/07/2016 11:35

Fx crossed for you rocket.

Loving all the 'haven't been to the gym' comments. I haven't been since about 2002!!

Absolutely wrecked today. Went to Wimbledon yesterday - was fun but perhaps overdid it! Another friend announced her pregnancy - that's twice in 24 hours I've played the "wow, really?" card at news such as "you feel dreadful the first trimester" and "there's an app which tells you how the embryo's growing day by day". Really pleased for them but can't bloody wait to properly join in the chat!!

Hello everyone struggling with nausea at the moments, seems to be lasting all day, it's so annoying. Lurch from feeling sick to very hungry, then when I am faced with food I can't manage it. 😩

Anyone the same. Also overwhelmed with how much the baby is going to cost!

Evergreen17 · 03/07/2016 12:07

Funti I understand
I dont think I have full on morning sickness but I feel weird
Apart from living on my couch as too tired to do anything, I am kind of wanting food all the time (even not really hungry at all) and then food not tasting like anything then salivating lots and feeling full.
And a bit weird
Great

LondonGirl83 · 03/07/2016 12:16

Theresa you think your tummy muscles are weaker?

SpinALittleFaster · 03/07/2016 12:28

Really struggling at the moment so can't keep up. Had an awful fever yesterday and woke up at 5am to find that I'd pulled the carefully folded back duvet up to my chin. Temp was 39.2 :(. Hoping that it won't harm the baby.

rocket I had spotting almost constantly through the first trimester with DD. It wasn't until about 11 weeks that they did an internal and found the reason for the bleeds.

funti babies can be very expensive! We spent a lot on DD but will probably cheap out if this works out. To be fair though, the only thing not in nearly new condition is the travel system and that's because someone else mistreated it whilst looking after DD.

BoomKapow · 03/07/2016 12:35

funti I'm really worried about the cost too. Less about the cost of all the paraphanalia etc and more about the loss of my salary for a while. We are rubies and have no real savings.

BoomKapow · 03/07/2016 12:37

Rupiah not rubies!

BoomKapow · 03/07/2016 12:37

Oh I give up

Evergreen17 · 03/07/2016 13:22

Spin I think you should call 111 as probably should be in paracetamol for that fever
A mild fever is no worries but a high fever can be a problem
I had fever a couple of months back and called 111 and they asked me to go to hospital to see doc
I had 39.5
Just call them to be sure Smile

Evergreen17 · 03/07/2016 13:24

Boom I am not worried about buying the stuff as I dont mind second hand / ebay but I am about losing my salary and childcare cost after maternity leave Confused

Evergreen17 · 03/07/2016 13:24

You are rubies? Rupiah? GrinGrin

BoomKapow · 03/07/2016 13:31

Rubbish was what I was trying to say! Autocorrect hates me.

everI'm happy to eBay too and there will be Black Friday and January sales before they come so we should get some good Bargains. Like you it's after that's worrying. I think I'm focusing my worry on that rather than all the things that could be happening now.

BohemianRaspberry · 03/07/2016 13:31

funti honestly you can do a lot of it cheaply or secondhand. Also see if there are any friends with older kids who can lend you stuff (DS moses basket was a long term loan :) )

DS's oyster buggy was £40 with cozy, raincover and adapters and we picked up an almost new pram for it for £10. We also got a pine cotbed, underbed drawer, wardrobe and chest of drawers all for £150. The only things we didn't do secondhand were matresses and the car seat.

The loss of salary is a hard one though Sad

CeeCeeEnnEss · 03/07/2016 13:41

I'm also worried about the loss of salary, though I figure we'll save money the next few months with me not wanting to do much...right?

Feel utterly shit today. Sick, tired, mardy.

SpinALittleFaster · 03/07/2016 14:14

evergreen I went to out of hours last night and the lovely nurse there told me that I was warm because it was a warm day. Totally ignored that I was shivering like mad before taking anything, that core temperature just doesn't work like that, or that I may have been somewhere cool all day. I actually spent the afternoon yesterday 40 miles away where it was pouring with rain, then in the car with air conditioning on. Cow. I've been taking paracetamol when I can, the 39 degree fever was just over 4 hours after my previous dose :(

LondonGirl83 · 03/07/2016 15:00

spin that's shocking... You should report that nurse to a professional body

Dreamingoutloud7 · 03/07/2016 15:15

So happy to see all the good news this weekend, so many losses while I was away though Flowers

We flew back yesterday and travelling was absolutely exhausting, I was practically delirious by the time I made it through the front door and our flight was only 2.5 hours!!

6+3 today and nausea has defiantly kicked in, butter is tasting like Stilton cheese to me (?) have checked and it's well within date so I'm just being wierd I think.
The exhaustion is on a whole other level now, I've already had a 2 hour nap today and could quite easily have another, mum just keeps saying 'you've just had a holiday how can you be this tired?' If only she knew!

spin hope that fever comes down soon

TheresaMarie55 · 03/07/2016 15:26

London, Without a doubt yes lol, stomach muscles are not what they once where. This is my third pregnancy in four years though and although I've lost weight after the babies I've never really got back into exercising properly. Walking is my saving grace so my legs are OK but tummy is a wobbly mess Blush

Anyone worrying about costs, please don't think everything has to be brand new! I have bought a lot second hand throughout the years and all been great. Thinking I will get a bundle of unisex clothes off Gumtree nearer the time. We aren't finding out the gender but I know I will want boy/girl clothes when they come so don't want to spend lots on unisex stuff. I'll wash it all so don't see the problem x

BohemianRaspberry · 03/07/2016 15:36

spin that's ridiculous treatment. Sad

Readyfortwo · 03/07/2016 16:15

I'm less worried about baby costs but massively freaking out about the cost of 2 in childcare. DS is £1450 per month, will prob get a 5% discount for #2 and a bit of 3yo funding....but still we're looking at a £2.5k p/mth nursery bill!
