A home for all of us enjoying the surreality of the first trimester. We're sick as dogs, exhausted to the core, our boobs hurt, we've developed superhuman senses of smell and we're shirking all alcoholic bevvies with a variety of lame excuses...

Welcome Bohemian, they might say nothing. Last time I was 'overweight' and this time when they weighed me I was actually 'obese' by BMI, but they didn't say a thing. They might recommend a GTT test, though.

Good luck today, London!

Theresa, 13 weeks isn't that late, but makes the wait even longer, so I don't envy you that; however, jealous of having house work done, there are so many little things id love to tweak and have done in our house!

Welcome, jdawg!

Hopeful, that is BRUTAL. Mine is usually up between 6 and 6:30, but DH and I alternate mornings getting up with her. And this morning was his turn and she slept past 7- I was slightly annoyed. There was a day last week I was really struggling, so I resorted to the trifecta of bad parenting: watched MY tv show and let DD watch her show on the iPad whilst eating a biscuit Grin it got us through the afternoon, though! Oh, and I cannot give up my coffee- I NEED it in the morning and at about 2pm or I would probably pass out.

Welcome, rocket, hope everything is fine and it really is just the ectropion.

Gin, symptoms come and go most days for me, I wouldn't worry!

I'm 9+3 and on my way to work. We are understaffed today, but hopefully the beautiful weather means no families want to go to museums today! Im in a weekend warrior Fitbit hallenge with my DH this weekend- his first as I got him the Fitbit for his birthday this week, and I don't want to be too knackered to beat him Grin

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 02/07/2016 09:19

Morning all.
Nausea has subsided a bit so I've been able to have some breakfast! I need to teach myself to keep my self topped up with food as that's when the nausea really ramps up.

It's a vicious circle, as soon as I think I'm feeling OK again I'm convinced something is wrong, so there's been a lot of boob prodding this morning!

I've come to realise that I feel so much better when I'm not so tired, so weekends are a lot better for me. It was the same last weekend, I actually ate fairly normally, by Tuesday I felt absolutely shocking again!

Is anyone else feeling really achey in their lower belly. I was in a bit of pain yesterday, again panicking myself that they were crampy feelings rather than achey. It might have had something to do with my jeans digging in and pulling a few boxes round at work.
I actually felt a tiny bit of a twang when I stood up on Thursday.

Evergreen17 · 02/07/2016 09:45

Ifatfirst I feel achy too
Not terrible but definitely something. At times is my stomach, at times must be uterus stretching
So exhausted and my job is very active so wondering how I will survive July

PhoebeGeebee · 02/07/2016 09:45

Has anyone else lost the ability to identify what cramping feels like? I keep getting weird tummy feelings and I think 'shit, I've got cramps' but I genuinely can't remember what period cramps felt like!

Sending positive vibes and hopes and finger crossing for all the scans and all the people still in limbo. I had no idea just how tough these first three months could be.

Mysterycat23 · 02/07/2016 11:20

I'm joining in with the weird tummy feelings! It is pretty constant, ranging from period like cramps to stabbing (gas?) pains and the constant dull ache of stomach that feels quite abused. Tossing and turning at night, in constant pain, yuck. Also in the last few days have started randomly retching with little warning - so glamorous! Off to a residential work contract tomorrow for a week so... may have to admit pregnancy Blush or else people will think I've got food poisoning!!

Evergreen17 · 02/07/2016 12:01

7+3
Exhausted
Crying and moody for no reason other than wanting crisps and OH not providing

Anyone else??

A very unhappy bunny

MarjorySunshineDust · 02/07/2016 12:05

Morning everyone and welcome to the new ladies!
So sorry to read back on the sad losses, hope you are all ok and have plenty of support Flowers

My dd is a fan of an early morning, luckily dh has been brilliant at getting up with her during the week so I can have a bit more rest.

Ive hit 9 weeks now, a week and a half until I book in with the midwife so goodness kknows when my scan will actually be! I don't know about anyone else but this pregnancy just doesn't feel real yet, despite the constant nausea.

bohemian my bmi will likely be in the obese category again this time, last time no one said a word other than offering me a glucose tolerance test. I was encouraged to try for a waterbirth in the midwife led unit. I think it varies and some areas don't offer gtt below 35bmi, in my area it's 31 so I was only just on the borderline.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

MarjorySunshineDust · 02/07/2016 12:08

evergreen I'm randomly bursting into tears and am very short tempered. Getting annoyed because all food tastes a bit weird but i need to graze constantly to stop being sick. Meh!

MarjorySunshineDust · 02/07/2016 12:09

Oh and if it makes you feel any better, I'm starting to feel a bit less exhausted this week so hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Lucy1308 · 02/07/2016 12:12

7+5 and I'm dying of hayfever. I've done a lot of research and decided that the tiny risk to the baby is far outweighed by the risk of me ending up in hospital with fluid on my lungs. I also decided that the risk to the baby of me falling asleep at the wheel from taking the first gen (drowsy) antihistamines was greater than the risk of taking the non drowsy antihistamines. Praying they work quickly- although based on previous experience, once I've started it won't stop til the next morning. I think I've set a world record for sneezing this morning. Got to 12 before I lost count/nearly weed myself.

Very weepy today- unsure if it's because of hayfever or just hormones. Probably both. Being able to breathe soon would be nice!! Have treated myself to sweet tea and biscuits with lemon curd on.

Can't wait for my scan tomorrow!!

Evergreen17 · 02/07/2016 12:17

Marjory thanks for that, it helps.

Fed up with this first weeks. I cabt wait for the second trimester

Evergreen17 · 02/07/2016 12:17

Can't

Blueskies80 · 02/07/2016 12:21

Same here evergreen and congratulations on yr scan, that must be a big relief!

10 weeks today and feeling slightly better but still exhausted, hb is 10.8 so that explains the exhaustion.

I have felt really weepy and disorientated in the last weeks and feeling I might be starting to turn a corner now.

Blueskies80 · 02/07/2016 12:23

Counting down to 12 wk scan too now and also next Thursday will be the same point when I had a MC last year, so to get beyond that will be a big boost.

SpinALittleFaster · 02/07/2016 12:26

Good luck today London I'm thinking of you.

Twin 1 still there and heart beating away. It's not measuring any bigger than my last scan, but trying to reassure myself that there can be big differences at this stage between machines and sonographers. Twin 2 actually hasn't passed yet but bleeding has all but stopped so hopefully will re absorb and won't cause any issues.

PhoebeGeebee · 02/07/2016 12:34

That's great news Spin - yay for twin 1 and fx for continuing good news!

birdboo · 02/07/2016 12:56

spin good news about twin 1. It must be so reassuring to hear a heartbeat.

I'm at work today I had to make an excuse to be sick. I feel like I've reached a milestone by being sick. Trying to stay with it is a different matter. I feel so tired it's hard to focus. I'm waiting to hear back about a new job (I was offered it before we knew). I want to call for more details but I'm finding it hard to stay awake Blush

TheresaMarie55 · 02/07/2016 14:04

Yeah I can live with it being 13 weeks. Just hoping its before 14 weeks. The work only finishes the day before I'm 13 weeks (the Thursday) so think I may have to wait until the week after but that's fine. We're having a shower fitted, tiling done and new flooring put in the bathroom, been needing to be done for about two years haha.

Is anyone going to be buying big things quite early? We are getting the travel system anywhere between after my first scan and early October. The girls birthdays are both October and then with Christmas after that we don't want such a big expense around then. I've never had a travel system and was happy to get one second hand but hubby has said he would rather get new and I ain't arguing lol. When you say October it seems miles away but its only 3 months! X

LondonGirl83 · 02/07/2016 14:16

Hey everyone! The scan went really well. I'm measuring exactly 7 weeks, there was a strong heartbeat and everything is where it was supposed to be. I feel really happy!

Congrats spin that your baby is still going strong.

LondonGirl83 · 02/07/2016 14:19

However, my cervix is killing me and having read up a bit I think that's what's causing my occasionally brownish cervical mucus. I know its benign but I am going to try to see my GP on Monday as it really hurts :(

Besides that still struggling with bouts of nausea, tiredness and sore boobs. I put on a body hugging T-shirt today and realised for the first time how enormous my breasts have become. I'm still squeezing into my old bras but I must have gone up at least two sizes.... I've lost almost 6 pounds since getting pregnant and still they are massive!

Sunshineface123 · 02/07/2016 14:33

london same here today, lovely little heartbeat and measuring exactly 7 weeks! I thought was nearer 8 but must've been bit out! Smile

LondonGirl83 · 02/07/2016 14:44

Congrats sunshine The measurements can be way off at this stage. I should be 7 weeks and initially she measured me at less but then got a clearer image. I wouldn't take the dating too seriously at this point- your 12 week scan will be much more accurate.

JDawg007 · 02/07/2016 14:54

theresamarie55 I was thinking of waiting until the Jan sales to buy big things. DH and I were going to research things and go to the shops to prepare but hold off with the actual purchases, to see if we can get a good discount. It might be crazy to wait...but that was our initial thoughts. It's a good point to spread the cost before Christmas etc though. I hadn't thought of that. Smile

BohemianRaspberry · 02/07/2016 15:29

hopeful83 was up at 2.45am with toddler and despite going back to bed feel shattered now!

Also not helped probably by me stuffing my mush with chicken burger and fries at lunch ....Blush

Evergreen17 · 02/07/2016 15:52
