No, they are generally fine! And I get the same train with the same people every single day!

Mileymoocow · 06/07/2016 09:12

leonie that is annoying as piss, I'd say you're pregnant enough for people to not be ignorant asshats Angry could you ask someone? I'm too passive aggressive and would rather stare daggers and sigh, but sometimes it's the only way.

How is everyone this morning? Had full kingsize bed to myself last night and managed to sleep well so I'm in high spirits. That could have also been a food coma brought on by my brothers birthday meal. I went full pig and had 3 courses. Also, weetabix also give you heartburn! Who knew Hmm

Co5mo · 06/07/2016 10:11

I had the bed to myself last night too. Absolute bliss followed by the irritation of not breakfast for a glucose tollerence test. I really don't like lucosade for breakfast.

I think I would fake a dizzy spell and make them feel guilty Leonie but then I'm mischievous and having lots of fun returning uninvited tummy rubs.

mayago · 06/07/2016 10:17

Leonie that's a bit crap! I've used my baby on board badge a few times with no issues, even without a bump. I'm not sure I'd trust commuters to be kind without it spelled out that you're pregnant and need a seat..

I just ate a giant crumpet. I put so much butter on it that it soaked all the way through. It was so satisfying Grin

14 weeks today! I weighed myself this morning, and am happy to report I haven't gained a single pound in the past 8 weeks. I'm sure this will catch up with me any moment now, but I've been (barely) in my pre-pregnancy skinny jeans for the past couple of days. I haven't had much luck with maternity clothes yet - my regular size is still too big. Might buy a couple of cheap pairs of normal jeans in a size up for the interim.

I've started a collaborative pinterest board with my sister, which has curbed the need to go out and buy baby things. It's helped her feel more involved as well, as there's not much she can do from Canada. She's baby mad, even after 3 of her own. She works in a hospital testing hearing in newborn babies, and is forever sending through names of babies she's seen.

Anywho, I feel like I've had a productive day already. I've not been the happiest person so far this pregnancy, so feel the need to share now that it's finally happened!

Danni89 · 06/07/2016 10:30

Hey girls

Day off today- going to look at the birthing centre, and got my 31 week midwife appointment. Ladies ahead of me, does anyone know if we have to have blood tests at this one?

LisaTheSimpson · 06/07/2016 10:36

May - so pleased you're feeling better about things, and the Pinterest board with your sister sounds lovely.

Hope it's all happiness from here on!

IndiX · 06/07/2016 10:40

Leonie I'm the type where I would have to ask for a seat in a very snotty way. I can't believe people don't just offer the seat straight away!

May great news your feeling better, I love a bit of Pinterest too.

Potato the delay on the house sounds so frustrating. I'm having a day pottering around the house too. I keep getting deliveries from Amazon for the nursery, it feels like Xmas.

Talking about deliveries, the post woman has just come to the door, my 2 dogs snuck out and then started jogging up the road. I then had to go and run to get their lead and some treats to get them back (not well trained dogs obviously), thank god my neighbour stopped them and was giving them a cuddle, they then saw me and started sprinting back to me and the house..thank god! Meanwhile I was wearing a flimsy short dressing gown..with NOTHING underneath. God knows what my neighbours saw as I was running around BlushBlush

Pinklily1 · 06/07/2016 10:52

Leonie, that's so rude! 28 weeks is definitely noticeably pregnant!

I'm like Miley and would stare daggers at them Grin

Danii, I have 28 week and 32 week appointments and had blood taken at both, but I have an issue with my platelets so have more regular bloods and not sure whether it's standard or not to have them at the 31-32 week appointment.

I've had my 32 week appointment today. All looking good, baby is measuring as she should, nice strong heartbeat and is head down. My platelets have dropped to their lowest level so far, which I'm a bit concerned about, but I'm sure it will be fine! I asked about a health visitor coming round and was told it would happen after my 34 week appointment.

May, glad you are feeling good today!

BunchOfBobs · 06/07/2016 11:11

Ever I know, I got a bit obsessed with baby beanies Blush
Future scientist is an outfit from mothercare. Miley did you get yours yet?

Mayo sounds epic!!

Oh Indi sorry but that did make me giggle!

Leonie sit on someone's knee on the way home! That'll get the point across Grin

Mileymoocow · 06/07/2016 12:07

Yes bunch! Well, my dad got it for me as a gift to baby but it's very cute! We all love a little science Wink

How is everyone's diet? I'm generally being quite healthy - I had veg with my steak and prawn cocktail to start at the meal yesterday Then a big fat sugar waffle with cinder toffee ice cream and salted caramel sauce but let's not talk about that and most lunch times I'm having prawn salad, then fruit with yogurt. But then I get home and NEED biscuits and cookies!! It's like compulsion Hmm

IndiX · 06/07/2016 12:16

Bunch I know, I can laugh nowGrinI didn't even care at the time that my Moo was probably out but got back in the house and thought oh god Blush

Miley same, my meals are really healthy but can't help but snack and NEED sugar every afternoon/evening. I've bought some nature valley snack bars as they are better than chocolate don't really hit the spot though

BunchOfBobs · 06/07/2016 12:17

Yay Miley! Got to have our little scientists promoting our vocations. My diet is awful.
My breakfasts are usually very good, a mango with yoghurt (or half a mango and melon) and 2 weetabix. Lunches are usually left overs from the night before but yesterday was spaghetti on toast Hmm my snacks are the killers. Soreen (I'm so addicted) choc chip cookies and biscuits. Oh my the sugar!! Healthy homemade teas but usually followed by pudding. Nice cream yesterday though so that was okay but I followed it with melon and an ice lolly Confused.
This baby is coming out in a biscuit wrapper I swear.

Mileymoocow · 06/07/2016 12:40

Haha, bunch your diet doesn't sound too bad! It's so out of character for me to crave sugar so I'm glad it seems to be the norm! Grin I was actually shitting it for my urine dipped cause I was sure it'd be full of glucose! I bought some nakd bars indi to try and curb the cravings, but you're right - it's just not the same at all. Think I'll do a chicken stir fry for tea, and if I can avoid the office stash of biscuits this afternoon I won't have done too badly.

OH is currently skiing at dubai mall. Not jealous. At all Hmm need to think of a list of gifts I want brought home to make up for me missing out! I mentioned diamonds on a nice platinum band but I don't think he absorbed the hint.

Mileymoocow · 06/07/2016 12:42

Also, for anyone who is suffering constipation I have some advice! Dried apricots. I don't think I've been off the lavvy for 2 days now getting rid of the 'backlog" (geddit? Wink)

PotatosMum · 06/07/2016 12:52

Lisa yes it was me who said about the belly button thing. It's really weird but you do get used to it.

Bunch Shock if that's just your 0-3 stash then your baby definitely officially has more clothes than I do! Lol

All Potato's clothes and blankets are now in the washer/dryer... I'm rubbish starting out what should go in a white wash and what should go in colours so I just hope none of the lovely new things come out looking grey. Why don't they have something on the tag to tell you what to do????

Leonie I feel so sorry for those of you who have to use the trains. It sounds like a nightmare!

May where in Canada does your sister live? Mine lives about an hour from Toronto Smile

Dannie I think the next bloods are between 34 and 36 weeks. I can't remember having any at 31.

Indi the image of the escaped dogs made me giggle Grin

Yup house delay is annoying but at least the solicitor has answered me properly now. Apparently my buyers solicitor has asked some more questions and they're waiting for the housing association to provide the info and at the house we're buying the council haven't officially adopted the road yet which they should have done so the solicitor is trying to find out when that will happen. So frustrating!

Pink glad your midwife appointment went well. Hopefully the platelet thing will be ok.

Miley I just ate the worlds biggest bar of salted caramel galaxy chocolate... That should tell you everything you need to know about my diet right now BlushSad

Watching old episodes of one born... That show always makes me realise exactly how snobby and judgemental I am BlushConfused the one I'm watching now has a girl in it who is a teenaged and got pregnant to her boyfriend after two months. The boyfriend is on methadone for heroine addiction. Hmm this seems to be about normal for people on the show and no one batters an eyelid. No wonder midwives and health visitors spend so long interrogating us about lifestyle. (Like I said, snobby and judgemental)

leoniethelioness · 06/07/2016 13:01

I'll catch up when I'm at home - off for my 28 week appointment and whooping cough vaccination this afternoon. Sounds like it's a day off appointments all round! Lovely quiet train too - I could have ten seats if I wanted.

IndiX · 06/07/2016 13:05

Miley yeah I've got some nakd bars too, the only thing is I'm eating 2 a day plus peanut butter spooned out of the jar so for the calories I may as well eat chocolate! I guess the nakds are better than a dairy milk though. I think I'm going to have a fish cake and salad for tea and may make a fruit salad with Greek yoghurt for pudding. Glad to hear about the backlog situationWink

Bunch I don't think your diet sounds that bad either. I even kid myself in to thinking 'well I can have some treats becuase I don't want a really long skinny baby'....totally kidding myselfGrin

shelbTa · 06/07/2016 13:40

Afternoon ladies

Hear you on the sugar, I'm hammering it. Gone off meat totally though and just want milk, cheese and salad.

Sorry not keeping up much, just so busy at work.

Just had a really really intense five minutes of period pain, shit me up a bit.

X

LisaTheSimpson · 06/07/2016 13:50

Indi - thanks for that! Gave me a great little chuckle while I'm at work today! Grin

Agree with others who says meals are healthy but snacking is the hard part. My breakfast is cereal, then mid-morning I have some fruit, then I try to make sure lunch is carb-free (salmon and avo salad today, yum!). But this means by the time I get home after work, I am CRAVING carbs and sugar.

I know you said not to talk about it, but bloody hell Miley, you can't just land " big fat sugar waffle with cinder toffee ice cream and salted caramel sauce" on us and expect no reactions! I'm practically drooling at my desk....it's very attractive....

Pink - glad the appt went well. Hopefully the platelets thing will be fine.

Potato - love the OBEM judgment! I don't watch, but I'm sure I'd be exactly the same.

Mileymoocow · 06/07/2016 13:55

shelb I'm drinking so much milk, too! I'm very funny about mince and will only eat chicken that I've cooked, and a steak. I'm normally a massive meat lover, too heehee!!

Yeah indi the sugar is still ridiculous in them, I kid myself that they're more nutrient dense, therefore I have to eat them for baby's benefit. I guess I've resigned myself to the fact that my body wants what it wants, and it is creating a human so should be rewarded. I'll deal with the muffin top in October.

leoniethelioness · 06/07/2016 14:40

Another one who is addicted to sugar... And white bread (I'm usually a brown bread with seeds etc. kind of person). Started having a slice of toast with Nutella as part of my breakfast...

mayago · 06/07/2016 15:13

I must be the only one who doesn't enjoy nakd bars. I bought a stash in home bargains for a couple of quid, and they ended up in OH's pack up. Probably worth it to get me on the loo, but certainly not a replacement for chocolate! I'll eat anything sweet, especially fruit I ate a whole melon yesterday for a snack

My sister is in Nova Scotia Potato. I went to uni about an hour from Toronto, and my Grandfather is in Burlington (again, an hour from Toronto). He turned 100 in April, and OH wants us and the new baby to visit him for his 101st!

If you remember back to the booking in appointment, you got asked all those lovely questions - do you take drugs, are you being abused, do you have any female genital mutilation.. I guess the health visitor is a follow up to ensure you were being truthful or that nothing has changed there. I haven't watched OBEV in a year or so, but I'll be in the mood for it now after seeing it mentioned in conversation! And salted caramel chocolate, sugar waffles, and honeycomb ice cream. I'm so highly suggestible Hmm

Miley I hope your hints at OH are taken seriously! I've been convincing my OH that I need a push present after baby is born. And he has his eye on a Mulberry bag! I think I'll be very lucky if it materialised..

Indi What a morning! Sounds like quite a bit of exercise/trauma sorting the dogs out - that'd be enough justification for a chocolate bar here Wink

Pinklily1 · 06/07/2016 15:42

Miley and May, keep up the diamond and Mulberry hints! Sometimes it just takes a while for men to click Grin

Is anyone else struggling with concentration? This week I've just not been able to concentrate at work, I think partly because I'm on the countdown to maternity leave - only 5 weeks to go!

I'm not a fan of Nakd bars either. The banana ones are vile. I like the Nature Valley ones though. Yesterday I may accidentally have eaten a Yum Yum from Gregg's. basically a lump of lard!

leoniethelioness · 06/07/2016 16:04

Please can someone explain nappies to me? How many do I need and what size?! I'm hoping to use reusable nappies but I have decided not to look into that straightaway. I know they are simple to use/clean but I don't want any extra stress in the first few weeks/months.

I was thinking of getting some Pampers and some Mamia size 1 nappies.

Pinklily1 · 06/07/2016 16:17

Leonie, we've just bought a pack of 72 first size Pampers (the one up from tiny baby). Thats all we are getting to start with, until we see what size baby is.
