Bunch - that's a correct scale for the size of my nips these days!!

I ate a load of Brie and Camembert today, feel pretty guilty, don't know what came over me, justified is sainsbury bog standard cheese is likely to be pasturised??

Potato-yeah I'm pretty breathless, a s exhausted.

X

PotatosMum · 03/07/2016 18:43

Lol Bunch they are impressive!
I think I will need a baby clothes washing day next week. I did want to wait until we moved so that I could hang them out instead of tumbling but I don't think I'll have the time Confused

Ever I suppose at least you know that if you buy one it'll keep its value... Still, it is shocking how expensive baby stuff is, I've stopped keeping track of how much I've spent because it was too depressing!

Pink ha! But at least you're getting bamboozled looking at pretty stuff... I'm going to make my own wedding dress, if OH ever gets round to proposing... Who am I kidding, I'm going to have to take him out and inform him it's time to buy me a ring Wink

The baby Einstein mats are in the sale at mothercare at the moment. It was £40 which is pretty good as I think it's on Amazon for £60 or £70 at the moment.

I think I need an early night tonight, the last couple of days I've struggled to get to sleep and then woken at least five times Hmm I have to admit I'm getting a bit fed up of being pregnant now. There are so many jokes about how in T3 you just want it to be over but that's definitely how I'm feeling and although it's only 6 to 10 weeks left it feels like an eternity!

Yes that is a good point about keeping the value!!!

Potato or bunch I think it was one of you that said they could recommend a home doppler?

With my anxiety and me having the driving test and my wedding on the same week as my 12 weeks scan, I could do with some reassurance Hmm

But I know that they dont always work well or takes a longer time Smile

Evergreen17 · 03/07/2016 19:11

On a second thought I think the 12 weeks scan will be here before I am able to pick up anything on a doppler so not to worry
Midwife said we will try at 16 weeks appointment anyway

Feefeefs · 03/07/2016 19:23

Speaking of breast pads my friend told me you can get ones you can get that sit on the boob your not feeding from and collect all the breast milk. I think useful when your engorged at the start, you can then pump afterwards and freeze it. It lasts three months in the freezer.

Feefeefs · 03/07/2016 19:25

Also I think you have to collect it while your feeding then pump mix it and freeze it. She said there's a while at the start where you leak a lot from the boob you're not feeding from

Feefeefs · 03/07/2016 19:39

Also is anyone having a baby shower?

IndiX · 03/07/2016 19:53

I'm having a baby shower feefs.ive basically organised it with my best friends and mum at home in Liverpool but I'm pretty sure my neighbour is going to throw me one in Scotland too. Looking forward to getting dressed up and spoilt for the day tbh

Feefeefs · 03/07/2016 19:59

Sounds lovely indi I think I probably will too obviously closer the time will have to speak to friends etc

IndiX · 03/07/2016 20:13

Yeah feef I wanted to have control over my one back home, I'd chosen the venue pretty much straight after my bfpBlush I know they aren't for everyone but I think it's a nice idea to make a fuss of the mum to be before life becomes all about the baby.

Canters15 · 03/07/2016 20:20

shelb have you ever had listeria from brie before? No? You'll be fine ;) I think I've said it before on here but I don't take much stock in the dietary guidelines, I think they just fuel paranoia and have a poor evidence base behind them. However if I was wearing my gp hat I'd never admit I think that.....

I don't think I'll have a baby shower, its not really 'me'....i didn't have a hen night either.

Productive weekend this weekend! Bought loads of baby stuff including the pram....went for the silvercross pioneer but it was a close call between that and the icandy peach!

IndiX · 03/07/2016 20:29

I want some Brie now!

Nevlet · 03/07/2016 20:53

Just trying to catch back up had a crazy busy weekend... Hope everyone has had a good one and is doing well Smile

leoniethelioness · 03/07/2016 20:59

Not having a baby shower as such but three of my best friends from uni are coming for a girls' weekend later this month before baby is here. Another girl in my team is due 3 1/2 weeks before me so we're having a team lunch in a few weeks as well. She's starting maternity leave at the end of this month so I think we're going to do it about then before she goes off.

Managed to burn my tongue on tea so all my taste buds are big and spotty looking... It has upset me. Feel horrible! My back is really, really sore - I'm in bed propped up on pillows with my knees bent because it hurts to put my legs flat. I think it is from sitting on the floor to sort baby clothes out and then pottering around the garden. I don't know what to do to ease it. I am walking around like a pensioner and getting up and down is really painful!

Pinklily1 · 03/07/2016 21:42

Leonie, have you tried a bath? That soothes my back, only temporarily but it is worth it for the short respite.

I think baby has had hiccups for the first time today, and the kicking/wriggling has verged on painful, I suppose because there is getting less and less room.

Just catching up on Game of Thrones (I'm two weeks behind). It's not good for the health of a pregnant lady Shock!

Pinklily1 · 03/07/2016 21:43

Ps I'm not having a baby shower. I think they are a nice idea but I hate being the centre of attention so it's not for me.

leoniethelioness · 03/07/2016 21:50

Pink Trying a hot water bottle as I'm not convinced I'd be able to get out of the bath...

shelbTa · 03/07/2016 22:41

Thanks canters.

Waves to everyone!

Those t3'ers with period and back pain, does it go down to your thighs? bloody sore now, can't imagine how you've coped for so long bunch

X

Planeteer · 03/07/2016 23:46

Hugs to those in pain!
*
Leonie* hope the hot water bottle worked. How are you feeling now?

We picked up our Snuzpod today, which I got on eBay. First actual item of baby paraphernalia in the house and it feels good to have got started! Buggy's getting delivered in a couple of weeks, and we're going to venture into the uncharted waters of used car shopping next weekend. Phew!

I'm torn re baby showers. I feel a bit awkward about the idea of throwing one, but my friends seem really keen. Might just let them do it, haha.

Danni89 · 04/07/2016 00:07

Just got back from the Beyonce concert... Used my pregnancy and got moved to some better seats, instead of being up with the Gods. And I could sit without anyone standing in front- I was well chuffed Smile

I'll be having a baby shower at my parents house on the first weekend on Aug, organised by my sister- very excited and not buying anymore baby things until then

Co5mo · 04/07/2016 06:52

I'm only having a baby shower if someone organises it for me. As my bf has said she'd rather wait until I can have a good drink and then organise a wetting of baby's head, I can't see that happening!

Busy weekend. Pram is chosen (assuming it fits in the car boot) we're going for a silvercross pioneer henley, with backup plan being the wayfarer followed by the Mams and Papas armadillo flip XT. The wallpaper has been stripped from the nursery, the garden is a wee bit tidier, and I've even bought baby some vests. On top of that I've done the shopping, been out for lunch with the girls and broken the washing machine.

I'm not getting my growth scan until Thursday. That's rediculous really because when MW says your baby might not be growing properly it could cause quite a bit of anxiety. I think some staff/patient feedback is on the cards.

Pinklily1 · 04/07/2016 07:20

Morning all

How was Beyoncé Danni? Did she have anyone well known as her support act?

Cosmo, how long have you had to wait for the growth scan? Sounds like you've made some good buying progress this weekend!

One thing that struck me about my NCT class was he variation in bump size - we are all due within 3 weeks of each other but there was quite a bit of variety, and everyone is apparently measuring as they should be, so it's obviously all down to mum and baby positioning.

I'm just on the train for work and had to lift my wheelie case up into the over head thing myself. Already a good few people in their seats when I got on, including the man next to me, and not a single offer of assistance. Seems chivalry is dead Hmm

Mileymoocow · 04/07/2016 07:33

pink that's disgusting. Makes me sad to be a Geordie, supposed to be well known for being helpful aren't we?!?! Hmm

canters I agree about the food guidelines. I've had rare steak and runny eggs and we're both still ok! I obviously still will avoid raw food as I would anyway.

I don't think I'll bother with a baby shower, I hate being the centre of attention and my family are a little OTT! I might have a bbq at ours and put up a marquee with some drinks as a sort of party before baby is here. OH and his friends will be welcome though.

bunch bloody hell those pads are immense and not in a good way!!

leoniethelioness · 04/07/2016 07:53

Sorry to hear that, Pink. I had to stand all the way in one day last week. I'm 27 weeks pregnant - it's pretty obvious. A girl at the till in Tesco asked me how long I had left and I just looked blankly at her... Poor girl must've thought for a few moments that I wasn't pregnant after all, just fat. Getting used to this showing business slowly...

Have successfully managed to get out of bed and ready for work with no assistance. Back is still very sore and still got those weird bump things on my tongue (decided it's enlarged taste buds - gross). Feeling tired and fed up as I kept waking up. Decorators due today so want to get out of the house. Thinking I might try to book Friday off - I'm wearing myself down with worry and tears. Didn't cry at all yesterday though - small victories!!

Pinklily1 · 04/07/2016 08:13

I'm still surprised by people not offering seats or to help. I don't expect it to happen but it would be nice, and I would always offer if I wasn't pregnant. One of my friends had to stand on a train when she was eight months pregnant with twins, as someone was sat in her reserved seat and refused to move. He only shifted when someone else went and got the train guard to evict him. Can't believe some people!

Leonie, when are you due to go on mat leave? Do you have enough holiday to take a day off every few weeks between now and then, to give yourself a breather?

Someone told me yesterday I was tiny and barely showing (I'm 32 weeks tomorrow). It was very sweet but made me chuckle as it's also not true!

Has anyone else been really hot in pregnancy? I feel boiling this morning, all clammy and gross. I'm assuming it's just another delightful side effect.

We've got an antenatal class tonight on water births, I'm strangely excited Smile
