My bump has arrived all of a sudden too!

hels18 · 14/09/2016 08:46

Hello again, I'm just back from a nice week away so slightly more rested than before. Have been experiencing some pelvic and hip pain when walking which is annoying. Might have to mention to the midwife when I see her in a few weeks and see if I can get to a physio as it's slowing me down when I'm on my feet a lot.

I also have a proper bump starting to appear, even when I lie down! First thing in the morning it feels like baby is sticking it's back out and my belly is rock solid.

Had a good 20 week scan last week - everything is progressing normally and baby is a cheeky little thing and constantly wiggled out of the way :) Got some good pics of it's face and nose - so cute! Still team yellow, although the temptation to buy all the gorgeous clothes I see 'just in case' is getting to me!

Kellz92 · 14/09/2016 13:03

Hi Magpie! Glad I know someone don't feel too new lol
My bump arrived at the weekend. My hubby keeps saying he can't believe how pregnant I look already compared to with DD. I'm only 19+4 so I hope growth of bump slows down of I'll be huge!! Xx

hels18 · 14/09/2016 14:53

Just ordered my pram & travel system! I am so excited for it to arrive and I think I might have to build it straight away :)
Went for the Silver Cross Pioneer in the eton grey colour. When I went to try them out I loved how simple it was to use and fold and it's a pretty simple design that should be easy to navigate around shops and on trains in London, as well as in the park. Fingers crossed it is the right choice!

PippaRose · 14/09/2016 18:11

hels18 the Silver Cross Pioneer is top of our list (based on research)! Hope we like it just as much when we go and try them out

Kellz92 · 15/09/2016 20:01

Hels that was my second choice. I ended off going for cosatto giggle 2 in toddle pip :) X

Duckyneedsaclean · 16/09/2016 10:21

I've got the first of my 4 weekly growth scans in a couple of hours. For some reason I feel really nervous, at the 20 week scan one was 10oz & one was 12oz.

I've convinced myself they got it wrong about two placentas, and they actually share a placenta & have twin to twin transfusion syndrome going on, and they'll rush me down for a crazily early caesarean. Confused

I'm sure this train of thought is mostly because I was way to hot to sleep last night...

Vixxfacee · 16/09/2016 11:23

Good luck for the scan Ducky. Let us know how you get on.

I think I am going to get the silver cross wayfarer. We are going to wait until boxing day sales to pick up the big items. I am still nervous about getting excited and something going wrong.

My belly is still small but getting more movement. Especially when I play music. Can't wait until I get regular movement!

MagpieCursedTea · 16/09/2016 12:28

Ducky hope all is going well! Pre scan anxiety is pretty standard I think. I convince myself of all sorts of things before scans. I'm sure if there was anything serious they would've picked it up at the 20 week scan!

Vixx I'm considering waiting for the sales but there's a chance I'll be induced at 38 weeks which would be before Christmas. Probably not worth the gamble for me but still seems like a good plan. Maybe I'll have to do a heavily pregnant Black Friday shop!

Hels glad the scan went well and that you had a good week away! Definitely speak to the midwife about your pelvic pain. I was referred to the physio by mine and have been finding the exercises and the bump support thing they gave me really helpful.

We've got a private 4D scan booked for tomorrow. We didn't have one with DS so though we'd go for it this time. I'm excited but still nervous. We're taking DS with us so he can see Baby Brother. He's not been well the last couple of days so hopefully he's feeling up to it!

Scan was fine, of course! Breech twin has flipped so both head down, placenta has moved from a dodgy low to nice & high.. And confirmed they're both girls. Est weights of 1lb4oz and 1lb3oz.

So all good really!

Might let myself buy some girly clothes now.

Vixxfacee · 16/09/2016 15:02

Magpie when is black Friday? 4d scan will be amazing. How many weeks are you now? I was thinking for doing one at 30 weeks.

Congratulations Ducky! 2 girls amazing!

peonylover22 · 16/09/2016 15:19

Congratulations Ducky - that's great news!

Hanbeth84 · 16/09/2016 18:08

I thought it had gone quiet on here. I always got a notification of a new post and not had any so thought people must have gone to fb. Turns out i've missed 2 pages! Oops.
After a quick catch up glad to see you all generally seem ok. And lovely to see the bits of good news about bumps appearing and kicks and happy scans. Also relieving to see someone else has had a stitch like pain on the right hand side. I had it all weekend and then all tuesday/wednesday and some of yesterday and couldn't find much about it. Figured stretching and wind to blame.
We had scan on wednesday and she's a girl like I felt she would be :) so can start shopping now.

Vixxfacee · 16/09/2016 19:04

Han Beth congratulations on your daughter!
I had those pains and then they were gone and my belly had grown and I started to feel movement. Growth spurt I think!

hopingandwaiting · 16/09/2016 21:56

Bought my travel system tonight after a shitty week at work. Went for the Giggle 2 in Pitter-Patter after finding it for £200 cheaper than the other patterns! It's been the one I've loved since starting to look and despite it being a little on the large side, OH finally agreed it (to cheer me up I think!)

Lots of movements here still, and what would appear to be my first proper negative symptom - mega heartburn, particularly in the middle of the night!! Have lots of handy sachets of gaviscon dotted about my car, work, home and handbag - just in case!

Janubub · 17/09/2016 10:08

hoping - the print on that travel system is super cute! You are very organised, we have only had a quick look!

Muffintops87 · 18/09/2016 16:44

Nice to see that people are getting their bumps. I have a bit of a bump but depending on what I am wearing it sometimes looks like a baby-bump, other times I think I just look a bit fatter. I am plus sized so I don't expect my bump to really look like much of a bump until a bit later.

I am getting lots of movement though, especially to music. He seems to really like Flo and the Machine!

I am still vomiting regularly, anyone else had HG? I thought I would try and come off the meds to see what happens this week as I am off work anyway.

hopingandwaiting · 18/09/2016 17:45

Janubub Thanks! I'm not sure it's organised - more like bought on a whim, but then some of our best decisions/purchases have come that way. Couldn't argue with it, when it's exactly the one I like, for £330 including car seat! Just gotta find somewhere to store it for the next 4 months now!

Can't help with the HG I'm afraid muffintops. All I know is that a friend of mine is still being sick regularly despite being due in less than 4 weeks. I think for some people it just doesn't go unfortunately Sad

Vixxfacee · 18/09/2016 17:52

Muffin, I've had hg since 6 weeks. I was off from work for over a month. The dr put me on cyclizine. From 14 weeks I went down from 3 a day to 2. I am still on 2 a day but still feeling sick especially in the evenings. I was sick twice this morning and have felt sick for the rest of the. I have come to accept this is how it is going to be!

What meds are you on? I've tried to stop a few times but within hours the vomiting is back.

Muffintops87 · 18/09/2016 19:56

hey Vixx I am also on cyclizine, been vomiting since week 6 also. I can manage on 2 a day but still get nausea and occasional vomiting. I thought I would see how I go without but I have just had another vomiting session and nausea all day. I think I will be speaking to the doctor again tomorrow. I am at least keeping most fluids down which is an improvement.

I had to take over a month off at the start too and had to have IV fluids. It is really making it hard for me to enjoy being pregnant.

Vixxfacee · 18/09/2016 22:48

How many weeks are you exactly? On the HG threads quite a lot of ladies were taking the meds alongside another medication as it wasn't working on its own. Could you ask your doctor?

Kittykitty05 · 19/09/2016 07:11

muffin and vixx I have had HG this pregnancy. Cyclizine really didn't help me at all so we tried the next meds on which was metoclopramide and it was brilliant. I've now weaned off it, and am ok most of the time, just a little nausea now and then. Hope you can both get some relief from it ladies. I would say, if your meds aren't great, definitely ask to try another one.

hels18 · 19/09/2016 10:23

Muffin poor you. My doctor gave me some anti nausea (cyclizine too I think) as had a horrid few months but luckily it eased off at around 14/15 weeks.

Baby is definitely having early morning and late night raves in my belly now. Last night it was kicking so hard that DH felt it too, and saw my stomach move which was pretty cool. Also get some movement after eating, which is funny at work as it makes me jump when I'm not expecting it!

Bump went totally hard and quite triangular shaped on Sunday morning - looked like baby had curled up and was pushing its back and bum out as far as it could! Didn't hurt, but I couldn't move very easily until it decided to rearrange itself!

Muffintops87 · 19/09/2016 21:45

I am 22 weeks tomorrow. I have tried a whole variety for different meds. Cyclizine isn't perfect but it was the better one for me. I was given the one that goes under the lip and the taste of that one made me want to be sick even more. The first one I tried had no effect what so ever but I can't remember the name of it. I tried all the tips and tricks such as crackers before getting up and eating ginger, sucking on ice cubes etc. and nothing worked. I lost over a stone in the first month or so and I so far have only regained about 6lb of it back.

Hanbeth84 · 20/09/2016 14:11

Found out yesterday that bambino could be a contributing artist which is rather exciting. We live in Hull which is City of Culture next year and they have announced one of the artworks is going to be a mural featuring all the footprints of the 2017 babies. Also, rumours there might be more treats in store for them.
