Dark that's awesome, loving the name Humphrey! Grin

peonylover22 · 17/08/2016 19:42

My cat is called Humphrey! It's a great name - I wish I'd saved it for a child

vixarooni · 17/08/2016 20:06

I never realised some places don't listen to a heartbeat at 16 weeks! Must be disappointing to wait.

I've forgotten how I do bold on here!
Hanbeth- I've not really bought anything yet other than a 5 pack of baby grows and I'm 19 weeks. It all feels too far away yet and that I'll get over excited and buy stuff I don't really need.

Woo hoo on the boy dark! So nice to have one if each Smile

My scan is tomorrow, I'm hopefully going to bake my family and work colleagues a cake to reveal it! If baby plays ball.

MagpieCursedTea · 18/08/2016 06:51

Vixarooni to make a word bold, you put a * either side of it. All the best with the scan, the cake idea is cute!

I've got my fetal heart scan up at the big hospital today. Very scared, just want my baby to be okay!

OP posts:
peonylover22 · 18/08/2016 07:07

Good luck for the scans today Vix and Magpie

Surf25 · 18/08/2016 08:30

All the best for your scans today ladies!

Vixxfacee · 18/08/2016 09:53

Good luck for your scans! So nerve wracking isn't it.

My 16 week appointment was cancelled as I had a consultation at 13 weeks. Won't see midwife now until 25 weeks!

Does anyone else's belly go up and down? Beginning of the week I had a noticeable bump and now it's gone.

thisisbloodyridiculous · 18/08/2016 11:27

Good luck for vixarooni & magpie excited for your scans!
vixxfacee mine definitely does! Some days I'm huge others only a weeny bump - & it gets bigger as the day goes on too!

MagpieCursedTea · 18/08/2016 13:18

Heart scan all done and everything is looking normal. Very relieved!

Vixx my bump size changes too, I think it tends to be bigger by the end of the day!

That's great Magpie Smile

Titchypanda · 18/08/2016 15:43

Can I join? Due 22nd Jan 2017!

Astro86 · 18/08/2016 19:53

Hello everyone! Hope people are enjoying sunny weather :-) I'm up north for my sister's wedding on Saturday, staying with the in laws till tomorrow and I have to admit it's been lovely to have a few days off from housework/entertaining DS!

I've got my 20wk scan on Monday (just squeezed it in in time, trying to fit around all this week's wedding chaos!), we're not intending to find out as DS seems to be all for the surprise Grin and assuming all goes well we'll make the big public (ie. Facebook) announcement as we've kept it quiet unless we've actually seen people (at which point they can't miss the bump now!).

I had a brief lull where the nausea went and the joints were sore but not terrible, now I'm being reminded of all the awful bits (I don't much enjoy being pregnant I have to admit!), I'm on crutches which helps with pelvic pain, swigging from a Gaviscon bottle after every meal, insomnia around 4am and, joy of joys, the bum grapes are back Sad, oh and the hair! I can't wait till I can break out the winter clothes as I'm sick of shaving my legs!

But then, DS talks to the baby, who he insists should be called 'Happy'... Or I can feel it have a good jig about in there and I figure it's all worth it!

MagpieCursedTea · 18/08/2016 23:04

Thanks hanbeth!

Welcome titchypanda, is it your first pregnancy? How are you finding it all?

Astro sorry to hear you're suffering! Pelvic pain is pretty nasty, I only had sore hips in my first pregnancy but my whole pelvis hurts now, along with my hips, back and top of my legs. Are you finding much that helps? Other than the crutches obviously! I like your DS's choice of name, very cute! I hope you still manage to enjoy the wedding despite all the suffering.

Titchypanda · 18/08/2016 23:22

Hi All! Yes, this is my first pregnancy. It's been a long time coming after fertility treatment.

Thankfully the worst of the sickness has passed. Except when it gets hot, then it's like first trimester all over again! My only niggles have been sore back, worse migraines and no sleep!

I'm excited to meet baby in Jan and have 20week scan in 3 weeks, so hopefully all will be well.

SunCrusHH · 19/08/2016 07:54

Morning all!!! Hope we are all well.im 18 weeks but 20 week scan isn't until 21 weeks for me. So still a couple of weeks to wait. No bump here just my a belly going on. Praying bump forms soon as this fat stage is the worst!

Imstickingwiththisone · 19/08/2016 22:26

Hello everyone. Didn't join an Antenatal / postnatal thread with my first as they are so fast moving but it was always good to have a nose and reassure myself. Hoping to contribute more this time round!

I'm 18+5 with DC2 and EDD is 15th Jan. I'm being Consultant Led due to a PPH after first labour. The blood results from booking in came back with a Hb at 80 which has only shifted up to 90 with supplements and a conscious effort to eat high iron foods and vit C in almost every meal. Anyone else had this early on and found a cause? GP says it's unlikely to be the pregnancy nor my diet (I eat meat about 5 times a week and broccoli and spinach and potatoes etc). Been ruled out for coeliac disease and have been referred to Haematologist. GP doesn't think it can be connected to PPH from 3 1/2 years ago but my consultant thinks it is - they've both seen my blood results after I was discharged at the time so I'm a bit Confused

Imstickingwiththisone · 19/08/2016 22:32

Hi suncrushh im also just at the fat stage. There's a bump but when im paranoid I worry it could just be bloat and lard. I think ive felt some movements in the bath but im sooooooooo gassy at the moment it could just be wind!

vixarooni · 20/08/2016 22:57

Hi everyone! Scan went well, everything is fine. Baby wasn't going to budge so she could see all of the heart so I'm back next week.

I was certain it was a boy but we are having a girl! Celebrated with a spoons meal and a cake reveal for the family today Cake

Vixx my bump used to change with how much poo I had stored up!!! Seems not to happen now though.

MagpieCursedTea · 22/08/2016 07:04

Vixarooni so glad the scan went well, hope the repeat one next week is just as good!!

Sticking welcome! Sorry I don't have any experience with the blood results. I hope you can get answers! This thread isn't overly fast moving as you may have noticed, mostly because there's also a Facebook group which tends to mean it gets a bit quiet in here.

Hope everyone is doing well and has a good week!

OP posts:
vixarooni · 22/08/2016 08:03

Whats the fb group?

Vixxfacee · 22/08/2016 08:35

No vix don't leave for the fb group too!
Glad the scans went well.

Does anyone else just not feel pregnant? I'm 17.4 but can't believe there's actually anything in there!

MagpieCursedTea · 22/08/2016 08:42

Vixarooni there's an FB group that was set up by one of the ladies from here for January Mams. You can pm me the email address you use for FB and I'll add you if you like. Sorry Vixx! In my defence, I'm still on here even though I'm on the FB group and I think it's a shame it's so quiet in here now. Have you seen the Feb threads? They're putting us to shame, I think they're on thread 6 now!

OP posts:
Hanbeth84 · 22/08/2016 08:45

Vixxfacee i'm also 17 4 and feel like it's all a dream and nothings there! Although my belly aches with what i think might be a growth spurt. If I think about a tiny human being in there just chilling and getting fat then it all seems surreal!

MagpieCursedTea · 22/08/2016 08:51

Hanbeth I think there is a growth spurt around that time. I was looking through my bump photos yesterday. I went from nothing at all at 16 weeks to looking huge at 20 weeks. The stretching pains weren't great either!

OP posts:
thisisbloodyridiculous · 22/08/2016 10:16

My stretching pains kept me up last night so even though I've loads to do and want to spend my day off productively it's already past 10 and I've achieved nothing Confused
