Jodie i messaged Magpie and was added the next day.

Vixxfacee · 05/08/2016 14:23

The last few days I've been getting cramps in my stomach. Especially the left side. I wouldn't say it's painful just niggly and constant. Anyone else?

Vixxfacee · 05/08/2016 14:23

Really worried.

hels18 · 05/08/2016 14:34

Vixxfacee I definitely get more pains in my right side than the left, but it is only really every now and again either in the morning or evening. My midwife mentioned it was just my body stretching to make room for the baby. Hope you are ok.

Vixxfacee · 05/08/2016 14:48

What kind of pains does it feel like?
I had a consultant appointment at 13 weeks and will have nothing until my scan at 20 weeks so constantly worrying. I thought after the 12 weeks scan anxiety would go!

thisisbloodyridiculous · 05/08/2016 22:23

Vix I get cramping pains like that whenever I have a wee (!) & also for a while in the mornings. I think it's just stretching but if you're worried you can call your EPU?

I'm still here too! 17+6 - so 18 weeks tomorrow! I've got quite a bump, I'm 5'5 and quite slim so it's been noticeable for a while... bought a doppler and heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time this evening it was amazing Grin

peonylover22 · 06/08/2016 07:54

Vix, it's probably round ligament pains - are they quite low down and to the side?

PippaRose · 06/08/2016 10:00

Hi all I've been having the pains too and thought it was ligament stretching, I know how you feel as we think the worrying goes with first scan, I suspect the worrying will never go!

Has anyone tried / thinking of trying hypnobirthing? Am tempted and would be good to get others views

hopingandwaiting · 06/08/2016 10:36

Hi all.

I get pains a lot, kind of sharp stabby pains for a few seconds or pulling and stretching pains. I also seem to be very achy around my tummy area, like I've done a ton of sit ups. Not particularly concerned as if you think about it, everything inside is having to stretch and grow and shuffle about to accommodate the now (according to my app) avocado sized baby inside, where there just used to be a plum sized womb! I think unless the pain is constant and/or accompanied by bleeding, it really isn't much to worry about. Got an appointment with the midwife next week and if she tells me any different I will post it.

Looking forward to being able to feel the little one wriggling about now, but realistically know it probably won't be for a few weeks as this is my first.

Vixxfacee · 06/08/2016 14:08

Hey, yes it is really low down and to the sides. Never heard about ligament pain before so I feel better that a few of us have it so it's normal!

I would be in in hearing about hypno birthing too.

Still no bump just look bloated but my lower abdomen is starting to feel hard.

Has everyone got their 20 weeks scans booked?

DarkLikeVader · 06/08/2016 17:21

I've had stabby pains on the lower left side, really painful but they started on Thursday when I'd been on my feet all day, I've rested a bit since then and they've eased off so I'm trying not to worry.

Next scan a week Monday. Can't wait. We're going to try to find out the sex (if we can; dd was most uncooperative at 20 weeks!)

MagpieCursedTea · 06/08/2016 23:21

My next scan is also a week on Monday. I'm nervous about it but excited to see baby again! Not looking forward to needing to have a full bladder though.

I also get cramps and various bump pains, especially if I over do it. I find drinking water and having a rest helps. Are you not getting a 16 week midwife appointment Vixx? I'm under the consultant but still saw my midwife at 17 weeks (should've been 16 weeks).

I can add people on FB, just send me a message, do let me know on here though as I use the app which doesn't show messages and don't always get email notifications.

Vixxfacee · 07/08/2016 07:55

I am not getting a 16 week appointment as I had a consultation at 13 weeks where they gave me all my blood results. So my next appointment is not until 12th September for my scan and next midwife appointment is when I'm 25 weeks!
I ordered a doppler last night which is coming today.

It does seem as though the cramps are quite common!

CarrotVan · 07/08/2016 16:57

I'm in and out. Showing now but can still disguise with careful clothing choices. Ive had a tension headache for over two weeks and my PGP is grim so am awaiting my physio appointment.

Next mw appointment on Tuesday at bang on 16 weeks then my anomaly scan on 6th Sept.

Combined screening came back "lower risk" - they don't give you risk numbers here

Vixxfacee · 07/08/2016 19:10

What is PGP?

My doppler came. Found the baby's heartbeat straight away so that was very reassuring.

hels18 · 08/08/2016 11:04

Which doppler did you guys get? I'm tempted, but not sure if the home use ones really work?

Next scan is on 6 September and will definitely get impatient before then!

Vixxfacee · 08/08/2016 11:16

I got the angel sounds from amazon. It is currently £20.
I felt my pulse first and then I found my heartbeat on my stomach (slow) and then found the babies quite easy. Very low down. Fast heartbeat. Worth it for me as soon anxious!

hels18 · 08/08/2016 11:33

Thanks Vixx, will definitely check that one out :)

CarrotVan · 08/08/2016 12:03

Pelvic Girdle Pain - your body releases a hormone called relaxin when you're pregnant which helps soften the ligaments and so on to prepare for birth. In some women the relaxin goes into overdrive and your pelvic starts shifting and collapsing causing a lot of pain.

MagpieCursedTea · 08/08/2016 13:55

My pelvis feels like it's falling apart today, I've been overdoing it and now I'm suffering for it!

CarrotVan · 09/08/2016 09:45

Magpie - if you get PGP then there are exercises you can do to help and sitting on a gym ball is really good. I'm going to get one for work

willoughbywolf · 09/08/2016 20:10

Do you lot mind if I slink back in? I've been quiet for a few weeks now as pregnancy sickness took a nosedive and we were placed in the dreaded high risk category due to increased nuchal fluid. Thankfully all our tests came back clear and we had an early anomaly scan today in which all is looking good -- still in the high risk category due to a small amount of fluid remaining, but the consultant seemed confident that issue will resolve itself and we'll be nudged down into the normal category at the 20 week scan (I'm 16 weeks exactly today, new due date of 24 January).

In other news the sickness has finally lifted, I am eating all around me (seriously, food does not even hit the sides)... and in the consultant's expert opinion the source of all this mischief is looking like a little girl Grin

Going to catch up with the thread now. Hope everyone is well!

MagpieCursedTea · 10/08/2016 00:14

Wolf I'm glad things are improving! Sounds like a stressful time for you.

Carrot I'm always on my yoga ball. It really helps! I've been away for a few days and didn't have it with me. I've really noticed the difference.

hels18 · 10/08/2016 09:24

Hi wolf, glad you are not so sick anymore. My sickness started to easy at 15 weeks and (touch wood) haven't been sick for just over a week now :) So nice to feel human again!

Although saying that, I seem to keep catching every cold and cough going (probably from my commute to work on public transport), and also seem to be prone to UTI's which is very annoying.

I've just found a lovely cot for sale on a second hand page, and I know it's early, but it's a good deal and looks in lovely condition! It's a Stokke Sleepi, and have really wanted one of those since I first saw it as they are such a lovely oval design, but very expensive brand new. Think we are going to take a look at the weekend and possibly buy.. I'm crazy!

hopingandwaiting · 10/08/2016 12:36

Hels you're not crazy, or if you are, you're not alone. We went a bit nuts on Amazon Prime day and got things like bottles, a carrier, a nappy bin etc - I wasn't even 12 weeks then so hadn't had scan! We've figured it's better for us to spread the cost over the next few months and do lots of research so we can get what we want for the best prices, rather than have to panic buy in the last months. As long as you have storage space (which we really don't) I don't see any issue with buying things now!

Wolf Glad things are looking up :)
