Thanks guys, it is so nice having this thread and reading about everyone else's symptoms and experiences. I guess most people in real life don't talk about their bad experiences, and by the time they've had the baby, they forget about the struggles. I am definitely ready to enjoy the second trimester and start getting excited, especially now everyone knows!

CarrotVan · 27/07/2016 10:43

I think I can tell my line reports the week after next when we're all in. It will probably be obvious by then anyway! I'm not planning to make some big announcement to the whole office - the news will filter out in due course

sj257 · 27/07/2016 13:14

Please can I join? Due 18th x

Mumchatting · 27/07/2016 15:24

Hi, haven't been here for a while now. Hope everyone is doing well.
Was wondering how I could join the Facebook group for January 2017 mummies?
Can someone please add me? Pls message me. Thanks.

MagpieCursedTea · 27/07/2016 18:24

Aspiring welcome!

Hels it's great being able to have other people at the same stage to share it all with isn't it? It also lovely being into the second trimester.

Carrot no big cake with a picture of your ultrasound on it at a team meeting then? Wink

SJ welcome to you too!

Mumchatting and anyone else who wants to join the FB group, it's EvansAndThePrince that admins the group so you need to PM her with your email address so she can add you.

My midwife appointment was good, got to hear the heartbeat which was lovely! Counting down to the next scan on the 15th now. When is everyone else's 20 week scan?

OP posts:
sj257 · 27/07/2016 18:28

My 20 week scan is 31st August, however I am so impatient that i booked a gender scan for next Wednesday! 😂

sj257 · 27/07/2016 18:30

I pm'd Evans earlier. I'd love to be on the Facebook group, my phone doesn't like these forums much!

Mumchatting · 27/07/2016 18:42

Thanks Magpie, I will message Evans.

Jodie1982 · 27/07/2016 19:32

I'm still waiting to be added to fb group messaged Evans ages ago with my email. 😕

Admarks · 27/07/2016 21:23

Hi to everyone and sorry for being MIA - struggling to keep up with everything (threads, work, home life). I'm not sure how you all do it when you already have DCs!!

My 20 week scan is 17th August- still seems so far away! I'm worried about not having felt anything yet, but am planning on holding on till 20 week scan rather than get a reassurance scan. We are not going to find out the sex so don't have an excuse for a gender scan!!

hopingandwaiting · 28/07/2016 00:34

20 week scan not till 6th September so ages away! Got a holiday to look forward to between the 16week MW app and then though so will be able to keep myself occupied. On the summer holidays from work so hoping I'll have a bit of a bump by the time we go back, not just a flat(ish) tummy in the morning and a big bloated blob in the evenings!!

On a totally different note - I just sneezed and thought my insides were being ripped apart! I mean, I've had some sharp twinges either side when moving/coughing/laughing/sneezing but nothing like that!! Note to self - don't sneeze unexpectedly whilst lying on your front!! It made my eyes water!

MagpieCursedTea · 28/07/2016 08:34

The pains when sneezing are awful! I curl up in the foetal position just to sneeze. Looks a bit weird but it protects me from the pain being as bad. I think I'm getting a cold so I'll be doing a lot of curling up!

CarrotVan · 28/07/2016 11:04

Ad - I don't remember feeling much before 18-20 weeks with ds1. If you have an anterior placenta or a retroverted uterus it could be more like 24 weeks. Nothing to worry about yet

peonylover22 · 28/07/2016 12:32

Admarks I asked the midwife when I could expect to feel anything with baby 1, and she said not until 18-20 weeks so I don't think any need to worry

lostoldlogin2 · 28/07/2016 13:05

Hello! Just been put forward a week so now due January 31st!

Although

my first was nearly 3 weeks late soooo Grin

lets see!

Jojoclaire · 28/07/2016 15:03

Hi, snap lost I got my EDD changed to 31st Jan too following scan on Tuesday so moved over from the Feb group.

So can I ask, at 13+2 today, did you ladies still get or are still suffering from morning sickness? I have the bands, I'm eating what I can and thought it was getting better but (sorry TMI) just chucked up everything I've eaten today. Have so little energy and can't imagine going to work (on hols this week) I need food!! What can I do?

Admarks · 28/07/2016 21:34

Thanks Carrot and Peony! It's still worrying that I can't feel anything and there is nothing really I can do except wait till the 20 week scan (or pay for a reassurance scan).

So true about the sneezing - I'm someone who has always sneezed in multiples. I have to either hold my belly & lean forward with my legs up or get in the foetal position (whichever is more suitable for where I am at the time!).

I'm afraid I'm not much help with the morning sickness Jojo. I'm told it does start to ease off as the weeks go on. The exhaustion certainly does - at 17+6 I'm not full of energy but miles better than during the first 12 weeks! Still waiting for the so called 'blooming' phase!

Lost and Jojo - I'm in the same position as you but with December. My EDD was brought forward at my 12 week so now 30/12 but I've kept on here (which I hope is ok with everyone!)

lostoldlogin2 · 28/07/2016 23:02

Admarks - I don't think I felt anything until 16 weeks last time and even then it was very very light fluttery feelings AND I was very thin before I got pregnant so I noticed EVERYTHING (not saying you are fat or anything - just that I was pretty underweight and very very hyperconscious of everything going on with my body)

Try not to worry - you will feel something soon I am sure! If you really are over anxious though - just have the reassurance scan. There's no medals for toughing anything out in pregnancy and birth :)

Admarks · 29/07/2016 07:50

Thanks Lost!

Jodie1982 · 29/07/2016 08:53

I'm feeling the first little movements now n then. Definitely not wind 😁

Admarks · 29/07/2016 14:31

Exciting Jodie - is this your first?

Jodie1982 · 29/07/2016 15:39

Hi Admarks. This is my 6th baby. Omg that sounds crazy doesn't it, I need to get a hobby!! Grin

Admarks · 29/07/2016 19:44

No, not crazy at all, just blessed to have all those children! I can't imagine having one yet Confused, let alone 6. I'm sure it will become real soon enough though!

Kittykitty05 · 29/07/2016 22:19

I'm only just feeling tiny movements at 16 weeks. 7th pregnancy, 4th to get far enough in to feel anything. I was feeling my baby last year from 14 weeks but certainly less noticeable this time but I've found out I have an anterior placenta, which clearly makes movement harder to feel.

MagpieCursedTea · 30/07/2016 08:00

The movements are my favourite thing about pregnancy. My body is rubbish at handling pregnancy but feelings those kicks and rolls makes it all worth it.
