Thank you magpie. Unfortunately I'm limited to how much pain relief I can take. Hoping to go back onto Gabapentin soon.
I'm just feeling very sorry for myself, dreading bedtime. Sad

MagpieCursedTea · 16/07/2016 21:30

Are there ones you can only take after the first trimester then? It must be so hard dealing with pregnancy aches and pains on top of your regular pains and on reduced medication. Have you had a look online to see if there's any specific support groups for pregnant women with DDD? They might have some tried and tested ideas? Or at least other women who are going through the same thing.

I've had a little look but not properly. Hopefully I'll get some help when I call on Monday.

I feel stupid getting myself in this mess.
I can't be happy about the pregnancy because I'm worrying about this getting worse and worse as the months go on.

Thanks for your help magpie Smile

Hello Everyone!

Having experienced it, I will never advise a pregnant woman to fly long haul, the jet lag is 1000x worse! But we had an amazing time in San Francisco and our friend's wedding was brilliant. So worth it in the end. And I also discovered graham crackers which were the perfect level of blandness for the 6am nausea (which strikes at 6am no matter the time zone..).

I felt the first consistent movement while away, and I was certain it wasn't trapped wind! I quite like this stage as no one else can feel it so it's something special and mine!

I have had to use my stick a lot, the last couple of weeks. I will be asking for a referreral physio and crutches at my next midwife appointment though, SPD and sciatica are starting up and it's making my normal level of joint pain much worse (not helped by a badly subluxed knee). I also need my normal physio routine adapted as there's enough bump to get in the way now.

Jodie I hope you get some help with your pain, I'm finding it tough being so restricted so can imagine it's so much worse worse when the discs are involved.

We've not bought anything as yet, friends gave us a bedside cot, we've got pushchair and things from DS and my DSis will pass back all the baby clothes (this will be grandchild 4 so between me and my sisters we've got quite a good stash!). Hopefully i'll be driving by the time the baby arrives so I'd like a ERF car seat from the get go, and I'm sure I'll be able to persuade DH the baby needs their own slings! But otherwise not too much to buy...not that it will stop me from hitting the nearly new sales! (If you've not discovered them yet NCT nearly new sales are amazing for bargains!).

peonylover22 · 17/07/2016 16:58

Jodie you poor thing, I hope you get some help with the pain tomorrow.

I've had gastroenteritis all weekend. Think I have stopped throwing up now but anything I eat is still going through me (sorry about the TMI). Any tips? I've been drinking loads of water and taking dioralyte but still feel very weak and feeble.

MagpieCursedTea · 17/07/2016 17:36

Peony I think it's just a case of keeping up your fluids and resting. There's also the BRAT diet which is recommended after a sickness bug. It just means eating bananas, rice, apple sauce and toast. Something to do with the foods being binding. I hope you feel better soon!

Astro I'm glad you had a good time in San Francisco. It must've been beyond exhausting. Sorry to hear about the pain you're in. I hope you get that physio referral through soon. I'm also hoping to get one when I see the midwife.

Thanks Magpie. Wonder where to get apple sauce? Obviously not feeling well enough to make it from scratch!

Had a very small amount of dark brown spotting overnight, but nothing now. Trying not to worry but am freaking out. I should be 15 weeks today. Will call midwife helpline when it opens at 10am to see what they say.

MagpieCursedTea · 18/07/2016 08:50

Maybe it's some sort of irritation from when you were ill? Hopefully the midwife will be able to provide better reassurance. I don't think they normally worry about brown spotting.
Not sure about where to get the apple sauce, maybe it's kept near jams in the supermarket?

You can just eat apples rather than apple sauce. Stewed apple is really easy to make in the microwave - peel, chop into chunks, cover and blast for 3-4 minutes

Sorry! Network connection issues causing multiple posts. I'll report

Tabitha78 · 18/07/2016 11:40

Sorry to hear that Peony, hope you're feeling better soon and there's nothing to worry about.

I had my scan this morning. All looks good and they've brought me forward by four days to 12+6 so my new EDD is 24 Jan. My bloods weren't back though so I don't know my risk levels, so won't be telling anyone else until we have those - hopefully tomorrow morning. Means I don't feel I can be excited yet!

peonylover22 · 18/07/2016 12:06

Thanks for the stewed apple tips, Carrot. And I'm glad your scan went well Tabitha.

Midwife said spotting nothing to worry about, most likely a coincidence. Smile

GingerIdiot · 18/07/2016 12:48

Good news Peony!

GingerIdiot · 18/07/2016 12:49

tabitha hopefully not long until you can tell people!

MagpieCursedTea · 18/07/2016 13:01

Peony good news from the midwife.

Tabitha glad your scan went well!

Scan tomorrow morning (12+6) - all your lovely happy scan stories are making me excited. Having some pains lower down in my tummy today though, which isn't helping the nervous anxiety. I'm sure it's perfectly normal but apparently pregnancy makes me worry!

Tabitha78 · 18/07/2016 18:35

Good luck hoping - hopefully you'll see it wriggling around! Couldn't believe how much it had changed since my scan at 6+5!

Glitterball86 · 18/07/2016 18:37

My scan is tommorow as well in theory I should be about 13 weeks! Really excited but also terrified at the same time as it will make it all real

MagpieCursedTea · 18/07/2016 20:47

Good luck hoping and glitter!
