Had our scan today...well my dh couldn't get out of work so he missed the excitement that we are 12+3 with identical twins !!!

Wow, surf was that expected?

No! There is a history in the family and this pregnancy has been different to the previous ones...but even though it had crossed my mind I didn't actually expect to see two babies there!!! Quite surreal to even type this tbh!!

Thanks folks! Yes, ginger I called him up and checked he was sitting down first!! Then sent him some pictures. He is delighted! This will be dc4 and 5 for us! ducky congrats to you too! Do you know whether your twins are identical or not? So much going on in my brain right now! Feel very blessed

Ours are DCDA (2 placentas & sacs) but consultant said there's about a 20-30% chance they're identical. (I'm convinced they are, there's no history of fraternal twins in my family).

Congratulations again! I don't think I had progressed to feeling blessed on the day of the scan, I was still in pure shock!

Yes it was a surprise! I just laughed! Thanks everyone. Told the older kids today and they seem excited so that is a bit of a relief to be honest! Was a bit nervous about telling them about dc4 let alone 4 and 5! Starting to tell folk now we've had the scan and weirdly enough I am actually showing today! So no hiding it any longer I reckon. Are other folk telling after their dating scans? Told work yesterday too.. Hope everyone is having a good weekend and not too many of us are still feeling rotten!

I'm planning on telling after the dating scan. Quite a few good friends already know but it'll be nice to be able to tell everyone.

Having major cravings today - for sausages!! My appetite seems to have come back, though I can't eat as much in one sitting as usual and the nausea is back to only when I get hungry (am 11+3)

I ended up having to tell a few people today, 3 days pre-scan as I could only fit into one dress and there was NO way of hiding my bump! I don't think winter early pregnancies have this problem...

Told our kids today, they're very pleased, phew!

I've told family and close friends since the dating scan. No big announcement as such yet though.

Morning everyone. Yesterday I had some brown discharge which has turned red. I'm 10+4...what should I do? I don't actually have my notes yet so don't know how to contact my midwife. Tia x

I would give your local EPU a call, you should be able to google a number for them. Failing that, call 111 and they should be able to point you in the right direction. Hope everything is okay! Take care

I've not told my DC about another Sibling coming along, i'm worried about them thinking/feeling shoved out the way. I already have to try and split myself into 4 a home. I have DDD (degenerative disc disease) currently crippled up/laid up on sofa, everyday is a struggle, especially trying to get out n about with the DC so starting to feel a bit silly having got myself preg again. Think that's why I've not told them yet. 😔

Evening all, thought I'd post an update. After all day bleeding, I went to the hospital. All my blood work was fine, so they are referring me to the EPU tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I'm miscarrying as the pains are getting worse and so is the blood loss, so I'm going to leave the group. Hope everyone continues to have happy healthy pregnancies and good luck to those twin mummies (my DCDA twins are 3.5 - get as much help from everyone in the first 6 months and it does get easier!) x

Ohhh Emma. I'm wishing you all the best. Fingers crossed your okay. I've read quite a few stories of women bleeding heavily and are still pregnant. I hope everything goes okay tomorrow. FX
