Morning all, I slept terribly last night so despite my epic napping yesterday I feel wrecked today. Ahh well only 14 hours and three trains until I'm home again Confused

Who do I need to pm about the Facebook group - I'm feeling brave!

AlbusPercival · 19/05/2016 07:39

I am so sad this morning.

Felt rubbish yesterday, worked all day including dragging my acheing back around several supermarkets to get work things. Came home and cooked dinner. Then my parents turned up so didn't eat it. Then I remembered I was taking an elderly friend out. So went out with her and got home at 11. Too late to eat so went straight to bed.

Woken up this morning by DH stomping around our bedroom complaining he has no clothes to wear today. He was home from 7:30 so could have put one on, and his dinner was all cooked for him.

Most upsetting is I have my midwife appointment st 9am. He knows I am terrified there won't be a heartbeat and he just left for work without saying anything at all. He never leaves without at least saying he loves me

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 19/05/2016 07:51

Albus what a terrible start to the day for you. Very best of luck at your appointment today. I'll keep everything crossed for you. I know it's no excuse but he's probably feeling really stressed about it too and doesn't know how to make it better. That's the kind of thing my dh would do. Please feel free to ignore me though!

fedup it's fuzzyowl you need I think!

Hope everyone has a fairly stress free day. I've got my first pregnancy physio appointment after the damage dd did to my back on her way out last year!

almondbutter · 19/05/2016 08:35

Albus big hug from over here -- any chance DH is also nervy and expressing it really badly? Hope everything goes well.

Highs and lows over here: yesterday, to celebrate hitting 16 weeks, was the sickest I have been yet. Builders in the house and me throwing up into kitchen sink (closer to my desk) over and over -- lovely. Finally managed to get down two mini Twisters and had another for breakfast this morning.
In great news, last night was my first unbroken night of sleep since the end of February--maybe I exhausted myself with all the puking? Last few months I have been awake for at least two hours every night, so this was such a treat. Feel for those of you who had rubbish nights.

almondbutter · 19/05/2016 08:36

Oh, sorry for the strikeouts there, think Mumsnet formatting didn't like my punctuation

ElleSarcasmo · 19/05/2016 08:53

Oh Albus, hugs to you. I know how you feel. I have my 12 week scan this morning and terrified that I will have a MMC or that something will be wrong. The worry really sucks! Hope your DH redeems himself later Flowers

Almond hope today is a better day.

FuzzyOwl · 19/05/2016 08:56

Thinking of you Albus and hope everything is fine.

Hope the physio goes well LittleGrey.

Also hope you got plenty of decent sleep tired.

Oh almond fingers crossed that is the last of your sick days and the start of getting decent sleep again.

Fedup I can add you. Just pm me the email address you use to log into Facebook and I will send you a link.

Not sure if we have any scans today but hope they go well if so.

Oh dear albus, hope today's better for you!

Well I'm having a fabulous day so far! New washing machine and Hoover was delivered at 7:30 this morning Smile I'm so excited to do the housework today ( simple minds and all that)

I had a full nights sleep!!!

All kids at school and the little one is off out for the day with her grandma Grin

Oh and I've got a spray tan booked in for this afternoon!!

Happy days! And it's not even 9 o'clock

Thurlow · 19/05/2016 09:17

Hope you're appointment goes well today Albus and your DH apologises later

Smells, everything crossed for you.

tiredmumrighthere · 19/05/2016 09:21

Good luck today Elle Smile

smellsofelderberries · 19/05/2016 09:31

Oh Albus that's completely rubbish. I would be inconsolable if DH did that to me. Keep us updated on the scan. I've found out in some NHS trusts they don't do the doppler anymore at 16 weeks Sad fingers crossed you're not in a trust where they don't do it.

Good luck Elle!!

Thurlow · 19/05/2016 10:43

Good luck Elle.

I'm currently working myself up into a tizz about this weekend, when my oldest friend is visiting. She's in the middle of fertility treatment and they had some terrible news literally a week or so before I found out I was pregnant Sad She says she is ok coming to see me but I'm so worried how the visit will go. I'm chucking poor DD around a friend's for most of the afternoon so we get a chance to have a decent conversation. I just don't imagine she'll expect me to have the bump I already do, or that I'm still sick/tired.

Basically I'm worried that if I try and shrug off conversation about the baby so we don't talk about it much she'll feel bad - but then even if she asks, that doesn't mean she's really ready to hear about it, does it, it just means she's trying to be polite and thinks she should ask?

Aaargh.

ElleSarcasmo · 19/05/2016 11:03

Thanks guys Smile
Everything looked OK...I'm so relieved. Thank god it's over! They said 7-10 days wait for blood test results. Fuzzy I will pm you!

almondbutter · 19/05/2016 11:17

Thurlow that's so tough. Maybe just say to her what you've just said to us, that she should feel no pressure and any chat is on her terms? You're good friends so she'll know last thing you'd want to do is flaunt it, right?

Just been for private scan to find out gender, which DH and I are going to keep to ourselves for now if we can manage it. Sonographer was delightful, scan was great, loads of waving and jumping and we saw its face in 3D, though it looks like an alien still. Really happy.
Went into Seraphine after to look at clothes and DH went absolutely batty over the baby clothes in there, was all I could do to stop him caning the joint account on little jackets and tops.

Thurlow · 19/05/2016 11:27

Ah, almond, was it the gender you expected?

almondbutter · 19/05/2016 11:52

Thurlow I didn't really have any strong sense, but it is the gender my superstitious Chinese and Singaporean friends had all guessed, based on what I am not sure. Anyway, we're thrilled and it was lovely just to see it hopping about in there merrily. All that puking has clearly worked wonders. Think we're pretty settled on a first name, middle name discussion to come. Husband's surname starts with M, which means a danger of initials that are also many three letter words, so have to watch for that.

Thurlow · 19/05/2016 12:03

So no James Andrew Martin then? Grin

almondbutter · 19/05/2016 12:11

You got it. JAM, JIM, TIM, TOM, TUM, NOM, VOM (Victor Oliver?)...list is endless.

AlbusPercival · 19/05/2016 12:21

Thanks all.

Had a panicky morning when mw couldn't see hb. Sent to antenatal fit scan. All fine baby just hiding at back

Thurlow · 19/05/2016 12:29

That's great, Albus. I've heard that is why some places don't offer the 16w heartbeat - my mw certainly said "shall we try?" to make sure I knew that it wasn't 100% likely they would find it. She then went on a rant about people with doppler's at home because it's a bit of a skill finding a heartbeat and figuring out what you're listening to!

smellsofelderberries · 19/05/2016 12:37

Great news Elle!!

Albus, glad you were sent for a quick scan. That is why some trusts have stopped checking at 16 weeks, because then women panic (understandably!) I'm always really sceptical of women who claim they find the HB on a home doppler at like, 11 weeks. Seems impossible when a midwife can't find it at 16!

Exciting Almond!

Fedupithink · 19/05/2016 15:45

Congrats Elle and Almond! Fab news!

Smells how are you today? Did you go to the EPU?

Tiredmum are you going to a salon for your tan? Envy My place told me in no uncertain terms that pregnant women cannot be spray tanned which I would have loved for my holiday (along with eyelash extensions which are also a no!) I'm gutted!

I'm so pale, fair and pasty they are holiday treats/musts for me!

tiredmumrighthere · 19/05/2016 16:05

Yes fedup a salon, some say you can't and others say you can, I've had them through all my pregnancys so don't take no notice! To many do's and don'ts lately in pregnancy it's all gone mad lol

I hate being pale, if I'm getting fat then I'm having a tan! Need something to make me feel human lol x

smellsofelderberries · 19/05/2016 17:05

I'm doing okay fedup, but I didn't go up. Morning was thrown out a bit as my sister called with some really sad news, they've just found out her FIL has terminal cancer and only has about 6 months. They are devastated so I spent a few hours on the phone with various family members. Sis and BIL have been together for 18 years; since I was 11, and our families often spend Christmas etc together. It was a huge shock as he went to the doctor for something completely unrelated, no symptoms or pain and yet is riddled with cancer at 70. Terrifying Sad I'm now working tomorrow so I'll see how I go over the weekend, but am feeling much better today (physically). Thanks Smile

Fedupithink · 19/05/2016 17:44

Oh right Tiredmum I guess that's the benefit of your experience, I'm far too anxious to step outside "the rules" ha!

Oh I'm so sorry Smells that's awful news. Glad to hear you are feeling much better now though.
