In so sorry smells that is so sad and what a shock for you all!

albus glad all ok. almond how exciting! We are hoping to find out next week squee

Healthy eating and fitness drive took a nosedive today... However baby enjoyed it's cheesy wotsits and pack of rolos.... Start again tomorrow lol!!

BeedlesPineNeedles · 19/05/2016 18:40

fedup I'm far too scared to not follow "the rules" either! But I do have the rules of 2 countries to follow, so I can pick and choose when they don't agree!

That must have been such a shock smells

Congratulations elle and almond

I've just ordered a few things from asos, lets hope they fit and I like them when they arrive.

Fedupithink · 19/05/2016 20:28

Beedles glad I'm not the only one!

My asos order arrived this afternoon, I ordered a pack of mamalicious bump bands to hide my afternoon open-fly and a maternity dress which doubles as a nursing one.

The dress was interesting to say the least. I mean I knew it was for feeding but I tried it on without a bra and hadn't expected the peep-hole effect! My DH was in stitches!

Cupcakesandlove · 19/05/2016 20:34

I've just stumbled across this thread I was in exactly your position last year and had a baby November 2015. Congrats to you all and I'm sending all the love and health your way... It's hard bloody hard infact but so worth it your all do amazingly

AlbusPercival · 19/05/2016 20:50

Oh god, really not a good day with DH, he just fed me raw chivken

smellsofelderberries · 19/05/2016 20:55

Ohh fedup does the dress work even without a bump? I have about £150 worth of maternity stuff in my Asos basket that I need to pull the trigger on!

Albus, oh no! Hope you realised before you ate much/any. Has he apologised for this morning?

coppergrey · 19/05/2016 21:00

Thank you Cupcakes, that's so lovely!

Hope you're ok Albus... that doesn't sound fun at all!

Re: ASOS maternity - I bought a pair of their maternity jeans and so far I'm less than impressed. They're not very high-rise despite being 'over the bump' (really doubt they'd fit over a bump?!) and they've gone really baggy at the knees. Might try H&M's next! I live in jeans so hate not being able to wear them but really don't want to spend a load on a maternity pair.

Fedupithink · 19/05/2016 21:08

Oh Albus hope you are ok!

Smells not really to be honest it's very baggy around the mid-section so I definitely couldn't wear it for a while. I'm also really disappointed, it looked more like a tunic on the website but it's not like that at all and very very jersey! I wouldn't have looked twice at it in a shop. It will be going back.

I don't understand why everything seems to be jersey. It's not flattering on a normal day so why when we are likely to be at our biggest is everything made of it?!

tiredmumrighthere · 19/05/2016 21:37

Fedup-the more you have the more carefree you become lol you learn along the way!

Copper-h&m jeans are amazing and so comfy and there over the bump, highly recommend them and only £24.99, worth every penny x

BeedlesPineNeedles · 20/05/2016 07:58

Hope you're ok albus

fedup did they model it on one of their really tall models? It probably was a tunic on her! I was more horrified by some tops that looked nice but were made of polyester. I thought pregnant women feel hotter than normal, I'll probably melt in a polyester top!

ElleSarcasmo · 20/05/2016 08:21

Which dress did you get Fedup? I got this one from Jojo Maman as all my clothes are tight and it is both maternity and nursing. It looks pretty good at the moment with the ties loose at the front. It might be my frame though-I am usually a size 14, so not petite to start with!

I also got this one which is just maternity but looks good now:

ElleSarcasmo · 20/05/2016 08:24

Albus Shock! Hope you're ok.

Forgot to say thanks for all the kind wishes yesterday Smile

Glad your scan went well Almond

almondbutter · 20/05/2016 09:01

How you feeling this morning Albus?

DH came in really late last night when I was asleep, woke me up, wanted to chat to the baby and then proceeded to snore all night despite violent kicks and being shouted at. Got up at 5 to vom, went back to bed. Woke up again, was sick all over the bed (thankfully DH had left for work) and now rather than resting up I am cleaning sick off the mattress. Winner. Better days to the rest of you.

BeedlesPineNeedles · 20/05/2016 09:16

Almond after all that I don't Think it would have been wrong of you to vomit all over DH :o I hope your day improves.

almondbutter · 20/05/2016 09:43

Elle, I am a 12-14 depending on the shop so will stay in touch with any tips on places I find nice things. I am also 5'10'' so tend to go for styles for a taller person.

AlbusPercival · 20/05/2016 10:15

Feeling fine this morning, thanks all, I think I noticed before I ate any, Poor DH was mortified!

FuzzyOwl · 20/05/2016 10:19

Oh almond, what an awful morning. I really hope the rest of your day and weekend is much much better.

Just got our test results back - 1 in 51,161 for Downs and 1 in 100,000 for Edward's! So pleased.

Almond I hope you're feeling much better now! Fingers crossed the sickness lifts soon, you're such a trooper! Flowers

AyeAmarok · 20/05/2016 11:32

That's great copper!

I got mine too, it just said "low". I don't know if that is just how they do it in Scotland - not giving numbers, I think I'd prefer numbers Confused

Fedupithink · 20/05/2016 11:40

Oh Almond Cake for you after that!

Elle I can't find it online now but it's a navy blue dress with sleeves and a thick red stripe at the bottom hem. I like the look for some of the stuff on that site you sent though so maybe I'll try that one.

I just want to see and feel things in the shop rather than all this online lark, almost everything I order I wouldn't look twice at on the hanger. Very frustrating! I'm a 10/12 but I live in dark or classic tailored clothes and add in jeans at the weekend so I'm finding all the floaty dresses and floral patterns a bit much. It's such a departure from my usual style and I'm feeling a bit concious of still "being me"

DuckWaddle · 20/05/2016 12:04

I got quite a few good quality items from eBay last time and they were great. I found cheap leggings and jeans became baggy really quickly. Jojo maman were good and I got second hand Isabelle Olivier leggings and jeans (brilliant)

almondbutter · 20/05/2016 12:04

Oh everyone, you are ace, thank you.

Fedup, how funny, I am the reverse of you style wise: I wear loads of patterns and prints, including crazy stuff I bought in Nigeria, and am seldom not in bright colours or big jewellery. Realise I am making myself sound like Camila Batman...
Anyway, I am also struggling to find me-like maternity stuff, not least since everything seems very Kate Middleton inspired. Other than the sick, she and I don't have much in common.
Think what I'll do is buy plain things and then accessorise to the max with usual spangles/patterns/colours.

Thurlow · 20/05/2016 12:38

Seraphine is good for trousers, especially if you need smart black trousers.

I've also gone a long way in both pregnancies with Next tops as they are often cut quite loose and have a lot of give in them, if you wear them with maternity skirts or trousers.

I've got this skirt from Dorothy Perkins and it is the thickest of the jersey skirts I looked at, I feel perfectly smart at work in it. I know what you mean about jersey, fedup! Having said that, I remember when I was first pregnant with DD I whinged about jersey - if I didn't want tight clothes around my arse when I wasn't pregnant, why would I want it when I was pregnant? But actually, the bigger your bump gets the more you can carry it off.

I think I mentioned before upthread but Primark have some fantastic striped jersey t-shirt dresses for £5, I bought three because they look good now with tights and biker boots, and will also be handy in the summer with sandals.

DP went to the States for a week last week (Hmm) but he did at least buy me some lush Saltwater sandals as a present, I have a feeling I'm going to be living in them this summer if I can work out how to paint my nails when I can't bend over

almond, I hope your day improves Flowers

Congrats to everyone with good test results!

needanewjob · 20/05/2016 12:44

Top shop maternity jeans are really good if you like skinny jeans! I've bought two pairs and am living in them as they were the only maternity jeans that weren't massively oversized everywhere

Thurlow · 20/05/2016 12:50

Actually yes, I lived in Topshop jeans last time and have just bought another pair this time. You can get good deals on Ebay once you know your size.
