Fedup, I agree with Cake, unless I could get one for before that date or within a day or two, I would say I'm unavailable for the work stuff. I'm also starting to get nervous again never stopped! too, and wouldn't want to wait any longer either.

DuckWaddle · 14/06/2016 21:56

Feds- I tried to
Love my date and because there is such a tight window for scanning they couldn't find an alterative date.
Thurlow and Amelius- you poor things. I'm still feeling a bit nauseous and have that awful taste in my mouth still but it's improved. I do feel like the baby is sitting on my stomach though! I feel hungry and like there no room for food at the same time!

DuckWaddle · 14/06/2016 21:58

Smells- the movement is mainly I the same spot but I'm feeling like the baby has learnt to somersault as I'm getting slightly nauseating swirling feelings too now!!

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 14/06/2016 22:54

Those still being sick, i feel for you. I'm still getting the nausea between 3:30 & 6:30 every day, which is 14+wks of that, but no actual sickness at all yet.
As for movements, I'm feeling little jabs And pokes in different places, but my uterus is big and visible when i lie down poking out so I'm sure it's more to do with having no stomach muscles left so little one is swimming about all over the place in there!

Thurlow · 15/06/2016 09:41

Thanks for the sympathy, and sorry for always whining on here. I'm just finding it a bit hard sometimes to get too excited when I'm still feeling so rough most of the time.

Fedup, I would refuse as well. Scans are so hard to organise it's not really possible to rearrange, and you do have the right to take time off for these appointments.

tiredmumrighthere · 15/06/2016 09:53

For all those that know the sex of baby already, was the Chinese calendar right for you? Mine was right but a friend of mine is desperate to know the sex and has 5 weeks left until she finds out, so was wondering how accurate it's been for everyone before I tell her to try it?

coppergrey · 15/06/2016 10:20

Not right for me, tired. In fact, all the signs pointed to boy for us which is why I'm not 100% convinced it is actually a girl, but I'm thinking a trained sonographer knows better than anyone! Grin

tiredmumrighthere · 15/06/2016 10:49

Same copper.. I was convince boy but calendar said girl and early scan said girl! I'm not convinced girl either so waiting for until the 28th to find out for definite x

Congrats btw Smile

CakeAndChocolate · 15/06/2016 11:01

Chinese predictor said boy for me and its a girl. I'd say it is 50/50 in accuracy Wink

Ameilius · 15/06/2016 11:25

Chinese calendar was right for me both times, and nub theory was wrong both times.. like cake says 50/50 Wink

AlbusPercival · 15/06/2016 12:12

I agree with 50% accuracy Grin

Bought some maternity clothes today. They make me look pregnant. Super weird as I have been hiding it until now. (21 weeks today!)

Also had to do the lucozade test today, 14 hours with no food, except a tonne of yucky lucozade does not make for anything except Hangry!!

needanewjob · 15/06/2016 12:17

It was wrong for me! I've definitely grown again this week as I feel enormous!

smellsofelderberries · 15/06/2016 12:21

Oh man, little one is really moving around the past 24 hours! Can't feel the movement so much as when I sit down or bend over it's really tender and I can feel something in the way. Sure enough, when I go and lie down there's a lump just above where my underwear sits and I can feel him pushing outwards. Can someone tell him I have heaps of room left upwards and he doesn't need to try and push forward?!

FuzzyOwl · 15/06/2016 16:21

Chinese theory was right for me this time but wrong last time.

Thurlow · 15/06/2016 16:27

How did you find the test, Albus? I have mine at about 28w and I'm slightly dreading it!

AlbusPercival · 15/06/2016 16:37

Hi Thurlow,

i have to do it again at 28 weeks.

I think my area does it slightly different. You have to fast for 12 hours, then drink a tonne of lucozade. (I dont like Lucozade). Then wander over to hospital in time to have a small blood sample taken two hours later.

Hospital were a bit disorganised and I was ravenous so I was a bit grumpy. But in reality it was nothing.

BeedlesPineNeedles · 15/06/2016 16:41

I had my 20w scan today, everything looking good :o I've got a mw appointment on Friday so it's all go this week! It's almost starting to feel real now, I'm looking forward to buying some stuff for the baby soon.

goldfinch01 · 15/06/2016 22:20

Congrats Beedles, glad scan went well Smile

Fedupithink · 16/06/2016 07:15

Congratulations Beedles did you decide against finding out the sex?

I've tried to move my scan but they could only offer me a date outside the window for accurate screening so I've told work it's a no, they weren't overly happy but they'll get over it!

In other news I had my very first proper kick last night at 18+4! I was so so so excited! Haven't felt it since but that was enough to reassure me for now Grin

Bollyroo · 16/06/2016 11:35

That's great Fedup! So pleased you've stood your ground with work and hurray for first kicks! I'm loving the kicks at the moment. Every time just adds a little more assurance that all's ok. We've got our scan a week today and we can't wait to see the little wriggler again!

needanewjob · 16/06/2016 11:40

I'm just sat on sofa (having eaten a chocolate brownie a while ago) and I'm loving the little kicks and wiggles, as is my cat who is particularly fond of me at the moment, she does love a nice warm bump to curl up next to

Thurlow · 16/06/2016 17:04

It's a boy! But shocked even though we'd all guessed as much. I think it's just because we have a daughter already, I kind of pictured another her. DP is pleased, more for the variety than anything else. DD is a little put out, but then asked if when the baby goes to school, we'll then have another baby and that one will be a girl Grin no bloody way

I think I'm just feeling a bit like Albus, it's the change from what I half expected which is a surprise. And we do not agree on boys names at all! Current suggestions from work are Wyatt, Ezra and Gustav... Hmm

Baby is very healthy though, everything was as it should be.

AlbusPercival · 16/06/2016 17:49

My work suggested Grahaeme?!??

Congrats on happy scan news!

Canters15 · 16/06/2016 18:27

Checking in here as having a bit of a hiatus from Facebook in general at the moment.

Woooooooooooop for boy thurlow! It's taken a couple of weeks for me to get my head around having my boy as I never saw myself as the mum to a son but I'm delighted now, you will be too once it sinks in properly.

No movement for me yet at 17+5. No bloody baby bump either. Grumpy.

needanewjob · 16/06/2016 19:16

Has anyone else started a proper names shortlist? We've got a few we like... I'm drifting towards Benjamin whereas husband is keen on Charlie or George...
