magique, yes. It's a domestic flight (which means check in is only an hour before hand and we don't need a passport) and figured at my Mum's we will have my sisters and brother to help out a bit (read: hold baby for 45 mins while I catch up on sleep Grin). My Mum is the sort who shows love though cooking and washing and generally doing stuff for us (basically the more she can baby us the happier she is!) so figure even if it's a bit stressful getting there, it'll probably be easier for us there than it would be at home by ourselves. Mum is still in the same big house I grew up in, if that weren't the case or if we wouldn't be surrounded by super helpful family I'm not sure we would go. Also, it'll be the middle of summer. Much easier travelling then than in an European winter!

Oooh Copper I love those Jem & Bea bags, I've been eyeing the StorkSaks/Bugaboo collaboration which are in the same ball park - have yet to broach it with DH!

Feeling much better about choosing a buggy now, thanks everyone for your thoughts. Think we are going to go and try some out at the weekend to whittle it down then order after the 20wk scan all being well.

Scan is 2 weeks Thursday, it's going so slowly. Still not felt any deffinate movement at 18+2, keep having a nice bath and lying really still in the evenings but nothing. Trying not to start worrying about this.

needanewjob · 13/06/2016 20:43

Hi we've never needed a change bag and I'm on baby number 3 now. However I breastfed which took a lot of the formula/bottles etc out of the equation and I did buy a little change mat that folded up to hold a couple of nappies and wipes - I think I got mine from notonthehighstreet but I'm sure loads of places do them now. One of my friends used to carry this enormous Cath kidston one that was like a suitcase it was so heavy and bulky that it put me off ever wanting one...

tiredmumrighthere · 13/06/2016 22:13

Hi everyone, hope your all well and had a good weekend Smile

18 wks today!! Scan booked for the 28th June so not long to go Grin

I haven't bought a thing for this baby yet,I'm just waiting for scan to confirm its a girl before buying anything lol plus I've no where to store everything atm, I need to find a cupboard that's free Confused

I know this sounds really bad but..we're renovating our house atm and I feel so stressed about it that I just can't seem to get my head round the fact a baby is coming in November when my house looks like a building site! Im so focused on trying to get everything in before November that I just can't get excited! There's just so much going on right now and I feel awful for not being proper excited Sad plus I have a anterior placenta so haven't felt a thing yet, I had this with my youngest and started feeling kicks at 22 wks so hoping same happens this time round x

coppergrey · 14/06/2016 07:40

Got our gender scan at 10am - I am SO excited and also very nervous to see the little bean and know that he/she is ok.

Thurlow · 14/06/2016 09:32

tired, we had to buy a house when I was expecting DD and moved at about 32 weeks, so I felt exactly the same way - don't worry, it's not a bad thing, it's just sometimes you have other things to focus on. Don't feel awful!

Thurlow · 14/06/2016 09:44

Good luck copper Smile

goldfinch01 · 14/06/2016 09:46

This thread moves so quickly I can't keep up sometimes...

Just to say thank you for all the suggestions re not having a pram... I will keep an open mind, and look to possibly get one after the baby is here if needed. It's good to know they don't take long to be delivered, and thank you for the suggestion of making sure I have the money put aside for one, I will make sure I do that!

Good luck for your scan today Copper! Smile

tiredmumrighthere · 14/06/2016 10:39

Good luck today copper Smile

Thanks thurlow I'm sure I'll get over it once this house starts looking like a home! I'm so focused on trying to get it all ready and it's really stressing me out now Sad my sister I law asked me if I was alright at the weekend because I never mention or talk about this pregnancy, but I guess if I ignore that I'm pregnant then that puts less strain on the fact I'm nearly half way through this pregnancy Confused and it gives me more time as I just don't see this hose being finished by then Shock

coppergrey · 14/06/2016 11:33

Thanks for all your well-wishes - the scan was amazing, saw her tiny little feet and she gave us a wave!

Oh, and it's a girl! We were (and still are) bowled over. We were so convinced it was a boy, everyone said it was... I'm actually questioning how accurate the sonographer was! But she seemed to know straight away and the images are quite clear. Aaaahhhh! So exciting!

coppergrey · 14/06/2016 11:35

Whoops, sorry for the double post! The excitement is obviously too much for me Wink

We also looked at buggies and I think I prefer the Bugaboo Chameleon to the Joolz Geo, on reflection. It seemed more compact but with more room, somehow? Gonna look at some reviews now!

Thurlow · 14/06/2016 11:47

Congrats! Did you get the "burger in a bun" view? Wink

I can't wait till Thursday now, am desperate to know - DD really wants to know if she's having a brother or sister, and DP refuses to talk names until we know what we're having!

mrsdane · 14/06/2016 11:55

Congrats copper - how exciting! 13 days until my scan and I cannot wait.

coppergrey · 14/06/2016 12:13

Total burger bun, Thurlow! Grin

Thurlow · 14/06/2016 12:15

Grin I remember seeing it on DD and thinking, blimey, yep, that's definitely a girl!

tapismagique · 14/06/2016 12:24

tired, i haven't felt anything yet either (19+3 at the moment) and starting to get worried ... scan is on Tuesday so fingers crossed.

All this positive scan news is very exciting. DP and I had better get on with it and decide whether we want to know the sex!

Thurlow · 14/06/2016 12:44

Btw, is anyone else still being sick?

21 weeks on Thursday and still intimately acquainted with the loo...

needanewjob · 14/06/2016 16:34

Ahhh copper glad all looking good X

Ameilius · 14/06/2016 16:56

I'm not throwing up every day but every week... :/ luckily I can occasional stop it by lying down and breathing deeply. But once I start coughing there's so no hope! Are you still every day Thurlow? I feel so sorry for you!

Thurlow · 14/06/2016 17:06

Most days, and I've still got the nausea every day. Ah, I'm sure it will stop soon...?

smellsofelderberries · 14/06/2016 17:25

Congratulations Copper!! So exciting!

Thurlow, sorry you're still feeling rubbish. Hopefully the end is in sight.

For those of you feeling movement, is it mostly in the same spot? Mine seem to be mostly in the same spot, but they seem quite low down still. I've had a couple of flutters up near my belly button but little one seems to be camped out mostly around where the line of my underwear sits.

Also resisting buying more maternity clothes. Bought this H&M skirt in a size 14 (usually a size 10-12) which looks nice when the waist-band is hoiked up just under my boobs. I'm crossing fingers that I can make this work for another 6+ weeks yet Hmm at least I know it'll be good (eventually!) post baby!

Fedupithink · 14/06/2016 18:05

Ahh congrats Copper that's awesome news!!

Sorry you are still feeling rough Thurlow mine stopped about 12.5 but I do still have the occasional bout which seems to be triggered by heartburn/indigestion or my vitamin tablets.

My 20wk scan is at 20+5 but just found out at work I have to move it as im leading a training session which has been moved to that date, if they can't fit me in before my original date do you think I'd be unreasonable to refuse? They haven't asked so much as hinted...

CakeAndChocolate · 14/06/2016 18:10

Congrats copper
Thurlow sorry you still feel so crap.
smells I love that skirt, but think that sadly my bump is now far to big to get away with non maternity stuff, even hoiked up!
Fed I would refuse to do the training if you can't get an earlier (or more convenient for you) scan date. They have to allow you time off for appointments and the scan can only be done up until 21+6 I think.

Fedupithink · 14/06/2016 18:16

Thanks Cake that's what I thought and to be honest they would be OK about it if not thrilled I just didn't want to be causing an issue and I wasn't sure of the scan window as my letter is at home. My hospital seem so busy I doubt I'd get an alternative in that window but I will try to show willing. I certainly don't want it any later than it already is, I'm starting to get nervous again!
